hearing from you. And I had someone's slide into my
GMS earlier this week and it was the wife of
Tom in clemsic. Now, Tom, I would love you to
share the story of what your wife told me because
my jaw was on the ground.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
So I took an uber from the city to cleansing
weekend before last helmet mate down for his fiftieth birthday
celebration and I ended up stepping in well Severn that night,
so seven o'clock in the morning took in her the home.
Four days later, on a Thursday, I had three hundred
and fifty dollars charge on my right chair account to
say a sorry travent on my uber app. Had a

(01:07):
look and they charged the cleaning fl for apparent match
that I've left behind. Contacted tuber support and I was
for photos and receipt for the cleaning. They applied with
a very generic message saying for private reasons. They can't
give me a copy of the receipt, but they applied
two photos.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Okay, what was in the photos?

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Well, first of all, they're taken in the dark. This
was in the morning. It was already the daylight outside.
And then I guess they've tried to make it look
like vomit. Yeah, I definitely didn't do. But then also
I don't know. To me, it looks like they've used
that ray can from the party shop with a rubber.

(01:47):
That's exactly what it looks like.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Tom. You had a big night a night before, stayed
in a hotel, woken up in the morning, got a
ride share back to your house. Then a few days
later they've tried to claim that in that ride share
you threw up and you need to be charged to
cleaning fee.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Three hundred and fifty dollars.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
There, you're certain time after a big night you hadn't
thrown up.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
Oh yeah, absolutely no, no if And this is the thing,
had I been picking the car, I would have been
ashamed and embarrassed and also the driver of money there
and then yeah, wow, I'm so sorry.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
This has happened to you. This is actually disgusting. Three
hundred and fifty bucks and it's a lie these photos.
I wonder how many other people have been done by
this that as an AUSO scam.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
I've never heard this scam.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
We're going to try and help you because our listeners
are beautiful and they will jump on and help you.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
Thank you, gy love the show.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
All that laid actually needs to know this. We're not
naming names or anything, but we got an inbox and
we've spoken to the guy on air. He was in
a ride chair on the way home from the city
to his house. Was a fifteen minute ride, got to
his house, got out, and then looked at his credit
card and he had the driver was trying to charge
him three hundred and fifty dollars as a cleaning fee
for apparently vomiting in his car. And the man's like, mate,

(03:10):
I didn't, I was fine. It was in the morning,
it was seven am. I didn't vomit. And the photos
that you're sending me are on the wrong side of
where I even sat, and we're worried that this is happening.
So you're gonna be really careful with these things.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
People out there paying it. Also, three hundred and fifty
bucks to queen so much. Just get some spraying white brothers.
So thirty one or two three, we want to know,
Teach Adelaide, what are the scams you're watching out for.
How did someone try to scam you Ashley in Andrew's farm,
Ashley give us a real estate agency scam you've come across?

Speaker 4 (03:38):
Well, I actually was a scammerer, but at a real event,
and I tried to take money from us because of events.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
But basically, long, very short, we will ended our lease.
My husband and I gave the real.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
Estate back the keys and ah, how did you say
to school?

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Sorry, my son won't hear me.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
On the radio.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
It's fine, go to school and it's school time. Get out.
Listen to your teachers today. All right.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
Now, Basically we handed the keys over.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Actually, do you need a second, we can come back
to you.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
By kids, I think I know what it's like trying
to juggle kids and trying to have a conversation.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Is very hard.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
We'll come to you.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
Go back to Ashley.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Let's go to ruth in Abba Fall Park. What happened Ruthie?

Speaker 4 (04:22):
Good morning guys. So we've actually had a few attempted scams.
I mean, first of all, I've got a lot of
Nigerian uncles for whatever reason, but never fell for those ones.
But the one that I wanted to share was we
were looking at buying an exotic cat and it was
going to be from interstate, and I think good. Every
time we asked for other photos and specific photos, they'd
send it to us and then just the radar went

(04:43):
up and something said it wasn't quite right. And as soon
as we said, no, we're not feeling that this is comfortable,
they just attacked. And yeah, we googled them and worked
out that no, it actually was a scam, but my god,
it was believable. Almost got out of pocket two grand
for getting a cat sent from into States.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
So their scam was and I think I've heard about
this with puppies as well, a lot of them. Okay,
just send a little bit of money up front and
then we'll organize getting the cat or dog.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
Two Yeah, pretty much, because you can't go there and
see it, so they say, you know, we want the
whole payment, and then we can put it on a
plane and we'll pay for the for.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
The fighting way, and the whole is excited and kids
get excited about getting a little puppy or cats money.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Yes, good one to watch out for people buying their
first animal.
