Playlists and listen live on the Free iHeart app and
Amanda jam Nation.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Where do you even start with? Jimmy and Jane Barnes,
the first couple of Ossie Rock. But I what I
love so much about them is the way they live
their lives, the food they cook, where they live, the
care they take with how they live. I'm completely obsessed.
And they've got a new cookbook, Seasons Where the River Bends.
It's available now. Jimmy and Jane, Hello, Hello, how.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Are you games?

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Great to have you in the studio. I love having
you guys together because the last time we saw you together,
I know you've got a plus one much better.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Jane.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
But you made that sausage pasta for us. Remember we
did the Jimmy jam when we cooked up the food
that I love that sausage pasta. I've made it a lot, Jimmy.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
I've made a lot of things from that book, and yeah,
I really have. This is my kind of food, and
I'm glad that you're doing more of it. Jimmy. When
you look I love seeing the photos of you cutting
the roses in the garden. The two of you in
the kitchen. Is this a world away from who you
were thirty years ago?

Speaker 4 (01:20):
Absolutely? I mean literally, if you'd if you'd have told
me thirty years ago that I'd be you know, like
get looking forward to getting out and picking roses in
the garden, I said, you're crazy, you know, because it
just wasn't normally, you know, the last thing I wanted
to do was be in the garden. I was sort
of recovering and getting ready for rock and roll shows.
But it actually really brings me a lot of pleasure
and it's incredible the garden.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
Every time you walk into the garden, there's a gift somewhere,
and it's sort of like a little treasure hunt. You'll
suddenly see, oh, oh my good, that's something beautiful just
starting to bloom, or the plums are started on the tree.
So you know, every time we step into the garden.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
There's Yeah, when I step into my garden, there's a gift.
There's normally the dog poop.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
Stand on it, right, I don't get there. I'm looking
to give that dog left me.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
How do you describe the stylings of your food, because Jane,
with your your background, your love of Asian cooking, but
also your your Western life too. How do you describe
the fusion.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
Well, first of all, we're not chefs, and I think
it's very Australian because we have so many cultures and
over the years, you know that we've got Mexican food,
We've got Scottish food, We've got and.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Thank god, such a variation.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
What's a good combination of Scottish and Thai food? Is
there's such a thing because everything's infused these days. I
was just thinking, because HAIs this has got lungs in
it has is the worst thing in the world. Sorry,
do you might not want to start World War three?

Speaker 1 (02:57):
I like it.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
But you could put it in a soup, you know,
like one of those.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Thie soup with entrails. How delightful. You wouldn't call it
that shortly.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
Like a beef cheek masterman in there, yes, sort of
like you but with the ties.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Yeah, spice, yeah, Jimmy, Jimmy saying it's just missing lung
and need it's a guys. It's always great to see you.
The cookbook season Where the River Seasons, Where the River Bends,
for you to say, is available now, And of course

(03:43):
it's always great to see you. We're looking forward to
twenty grand or holidaying with Barnsy, that thing they're doing.
A lot of people want to hang out with you
cook for them, but Jane's on holidays. Imagine this, You're
on holidays and then Jane, hey, love, you've gotta go
on cook.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Oh no, they'll put me to work.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
Jane loves being in the kitchen, and you know that
means I have to be in the kitchen too, because
I'm hanging with her.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Actually, I've made a kitchen outside the kitchen for him.
I have you outside, I don't have which going to
your own kitchen.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
In other words, get out of the home, own, get
at the host.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
Your riders out there.

Speaker 4 (04:23):

Speaker 2 (04:24):
