Speaker 1 (00:01):
And Amanda jam I don't know if you've heard about this,
that modern TV shows are being written to accommodate the
second screen people on their phones.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
They're watching TV while they're on their phones.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Plots seem to be overly explained. If you notice that details.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Still struggle sometimes you know how bad I am? Who's he?

Speaker 1 (00:21):
That's James Bond?

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Who's he? Why is he drinking?

Speaker 1 (00:25):
That details might be ignored entirely. And I've been watching
Morning Wars and Tulsa King at the moment, enjoying both
these shows very much, but both shows had a moment
where they just wrapped up the plot. And I to
spoiler alert for you, but there was one bit I
just say, a minute. They wrap that up pretty quickly.
This is on Tulsa.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Did you miss it because you look at your other watching.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
And I was just actually watching it, and I thought,
hang on, that doesn't make sense, And then.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Do you think they've simplified it to it makes no sense?
And then an editor has come through and just chopped
it out.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
And Morning Was are doing the same thing. Morning Was.
I was kind of watching it, but I was reading
a book at the same time, doing something else, and
that I'm following this show. I must be a genius.
And then it got me thinking, remember the good old
days of TV when the premise of the show would
be explained in the song you know had Gilligan's Island

(01:19):
that sort of sets down, you know, the whole the
whole story, hour tour.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
The whole story.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
And it even mentioned who the cast members were, the
stereotype cast members.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
The skipper two, me and his wife, and then he
was just and his wife, and they did one and
the rest.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
If I was a professor, my agent should get onto that.
Me know.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
The classic is the Beverly Hillbillies story about poor mantaineer
Belly kept found me fed. Come on, you know, shooting
up some food.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Up to the ground, came some bubbling crude.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Next thing, you know, don't.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Come just Olds and millionaire Brendan. What are you doing?
What the kinfolks say, move away from there. No, you
did this hole yourself head. California is the place you
ought to be. So they laded up the truck and
they moved to Beverly.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
And the last show that did that was Friends.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
That really I didn't have the story.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
I kind of did. That song, you know.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
That was a song that existed separate to the show.
But it's not like that song is not about the show.
It doesn't say there's two guys in a flat and
another guy who's a little bit twetish.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
You know, they don't it's friends.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
What about come and knock on my door?

Speaker 2 (02:36):
What was that threes company?

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Anyway, maybe maybe they've got to come back and do that,
you know, maybe that's what they're got to do against
my gulies.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
What are you having a coughing fit in the middle
of my bit for wrap it up? He's still going
when we all sing the themes, I

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Don't get me started on the Bradys.
