Speaker 1 (00:01):
And Amanda gam Nation. Well, the story so far.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
My brother Cameron, who I love very much, is two
years older than I am, and recently he decided he'd
do some community radio and he loves the idea of it.
This is a local community station which has always listened to.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
He loves it.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
And so he started to do this, and I said,
why don't you send us some of your radio on
USB for.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Critique purposes, not ridiculing.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
No, But I know you very well, so I was
going to protect him from any ridicule you had, but
just to share.

Speaker 4 (00:31):
The love we all have for young people starting out
in the business, send me tapes of their material and
I give them an honest opinion of what they can
and shouldn't do.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
And what about a sixty five year old man Brisbane.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
I'm the same man. Community radio is a different animal
to commercial rate.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Well, Cameron has sent us his USB and he joins us, Now,
good Cameron, how are you?

Speaker 5 (00:58):
Oh God, that is I'm good. Thanks. You know, James,
I can't handle the truth, so I don't need a.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
No no, no no. There's no critiquing. And there's a
reason why.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
There's good and bad news. Came the good news is
we received your envelope. The bad news is the USB
stick that you included is not in it.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
It's been nicked.

Speaker 5 (01:22):
There was nothing in the envelope.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Nothing in the envelope.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
The end of it was ripped and there's nothing in it.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
So what I've done the chances a phalanx of people
doing an ad hoc EMU parade through the building trying.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
To find this USB stick.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
There is mail bag.

Speaker 4 (01:36):
We found a lot of weird stuff, so a lot
of USB sticks but not your USB stick.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Can you believe that?

Speaker 4 (01:43):
Then I've gone to the front desk the station of
the face of the station and she has said it's
a post sorting issue. So what's happened is you've put
the USB in an envelope. It's gone through the post
sorting machine and that indeed has ripped the US as
you can see.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
So you've been ripped off by Australia Post.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
But no, what's happened is you've used the wrong You
should have put it in a postbag at least.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
So after all that, we're excited and the USB is gone.

Speaker 5 (02:14):
Yeah, so that radio magic is out in the ether somewhere.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Well, someone is going to find that.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
I would say, it's a trap between the sorting machine
at one of the dispatch centers, probably there for a
thousand years.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Maybe that's where it belongs.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Never Die the Land.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
I was hoping to listen to some of your work
because community radio is very close to Brendan's heart. Haven't
listened to this camera? This is where Brendan was nineteen
years old. He sounds about fifty eight million. This is
his community radio.

Speaker 1 (02:41):

with with with or.

Speaker 3 (02:50):

Speaker 5 (02:53):
Twist sees.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
The late Bob Marley, the Whalers with One Love.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
He died a few years back, actually with lung cancer
from making excessive amounts of dape.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
And it wasn't It was melanima that killed him.

Speaker 1 (03:14):

you was aged about fifty years.

manager and he's got so much patience and I thank
him every single time.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
What's the big issues you're talking about? And what's the station?

Speaker 5 (03:43):
It's BFM. It's one hundred point three BFM up here
in Brisbane. And yeah, look, I just every kind of
mistake you can make, I send to be making it
and the trickies. I haven't made it the second time,
but I keep finding you once, which is my gift. Yes, anyway,

Speaker 4 (04:21):
Well, Cameron, unfortunately your USB is stuck somewhere in a
conveyor belt in one of Australian bass soiling centers between
Brisbane and Sydney. And I guess one day i'd like
to get this USB. I'd love to hear your material.
You could probably can you put on a RAB file?
Why are you to send it over the internet?

Speaker 1 (04:40):
The file was too big, that's why it couldn't be said.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Really twenty seconds.

Speaker 5 (04:45):
Yeah, look, I'll see what I can do. Okay, you'll
give you a bit of mirth in your afternoons next year.

you to know that Cameron's name is Shirley.

Speaker 5 (04:57):
Also she keeps killing people. I'm two years older than her.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
I need to explain the show. When Cameron was a
little used to call him Shirley and it drove him crazy.
Mom would say, you know, your name isn't Shirley.

Speaker 5 (05:11):
And it's still got me up and I'm pretending not
to be Cameron. Goodbye.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
