Speaker 1 (00:00):
Jazy and Amanda gam Nation Piano last night. What an
episode was. I was tearing up the story of the
grave digger. That was extraordinary.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Ironically, are there life lessons you've learned from being a
grave digger?

Speaker 3 (00:15):
I've been in the occupation that long that I'm starting
to bury people that I know quite well.

Speaker 4 (00:19):
Crikey, what's that like? It's very heart wrenching.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Hard thing that I've learned from my occupation, Amanda, is
that life is too short to dancing. Play your piano
and just seize every moment.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
That's so true, and didn't he play so well?

Speaker 3 (00:49):
To be a gravedigger is an honor and a privilege,
but it can be quite heart wrenching to be able
to get onto the piano and just release that emotional Well,
it's just absolutely incredible. Music is the best medicine. Music
will keep you alive as long as possible.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
There he was in his single, in his tats and
his beard and the most spiritual, soulful man. He was
just beautiful. He used to play. He found a piano
in a tip in Gimpi. That's where that's where people
found him. And then the show ended with Sarah. I mean,
she's a mum of two. Who yet you got two
young children. She lost her husband to cancer a year
and a half ago. She'd learned piano as a kid,

(01:28):
stopped when she was seven years old. Her husband bought
her a piano and she went back to it and
now that is saving her.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
Life has changed so much.

Speaker 5 (01:38):
And the thing about the piano, I think for me
is that it's been a constant amongst.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
All of that.

Speaker 5 (01:44):
I found that, especially when it would come to the
evenings they'd have the day with my kids, I've got
them to bed and then come back upstairs again and
be alone and be alone. Yeah, the piano in a
way became a companion for me. When I sit down
to play, it's like I can forget everything else, and

(02:07):
I forget that I'm on my own. I can't see
that there's no one else in the room.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
So sad.

Speaker 5 (02:34):
To go so sort of ly from sharing that parenting
role with somebody to doing it on your own.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
It's devastating. It's new, and it's challenging.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Does see the song we cried is talking about that
it's on this show is so beautiful. That's such a
response to it. You scratch the surface and everyone has
a story and a connection to music. It's on ABC
or ABC iView. You can watch all of them at
once if you like.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
And you're so good on it, maybe you should do
an insight on bad element.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
On garage bands garage because there won't be a wet
eye in the house. Are drying up just thinking about it?

Speaker 1 (03:24):
A deal with Murine

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Very good,
