Speaker 2 (00:27):
Was he the loggis last night? No? No, I couldn't
make the loggis last night.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
A lot of people asked where you were. Well, you know,
I said you had to stay home watch the Sharks.
You were texting me in the midst of all that,
going Sharks of one if you're interested.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Well, they had a minute thirty to go, and I thought, well,
you know, even though they're a fair bit ahead, there's
a good chance they could lose. Never assume which happens.
That's why I couldn't go to the legis. But you
were there and Lynn mcgrangeer. I texted Lenny. I said,
good luck. I said, you're going to win this.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
She was obviously the room favorite.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
And I said, if you do win, give me a
shout out.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
Oh and did you do you awake at the end,
because oh, then she yes, she gave you a giant
showdow did she did?
Speaker 2 (01:04):
She?
Speaker 1 (01:04):
She said, Jonesy, go the shark.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
She said, let's listen to.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Thirty three years, I've done this amazing show. I'm thrilled
and honored and before I forget, this is going to
be pride of place next to my nineteen seventy four
Wogga Wogga Drama Festival Best Actress.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
And it's true you've cut off a bit where she
thanks me.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Oh yeah, I'll play that for you long.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
I will say you did. You are so good at presenting.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
So I presented with Bethany. And now Bethany was one
of the neuro divergent journalism students who interviewed me for
the Assembly, and we got to present the War together.
And can I just say the energy of Bethany And
also I'm sitting next to Lisa Miller from the ABC,
who was just thrilled to be nominated for the Gold
And I thought, that's the energy you want. It's very
(01:54):
easy to be cynical about TV, about the room, about
all that stuff. That is absolutely the energy to be
stoked to be there and to be honest. Before I went,
and I've got a lot going on at home, I thought,
do I have enough in the tank to enter a
room with that many people? Would it's an overwhelming night,
(02:16):
But I just felt enveloped in love and Soka, I
know that's your favorite word, Sokua. This is an industry
I've been part of over forty years, and the people
there who've known and worked with Harley, people I've worked
with since my days on Simon towns In's Wonderworld. I
just felt like it was a giant hug last night
and it filled the cup. I'm so glad, and in
(02:39):
memoriam this year, we lost Maggie Tabora, we lost George Nigas,
we lost Simon Townsend. I was sad that Ian Finlay
wasn't featured. Everyone has their own favorites that weren't featured.
But you know, there were huge, real beats throughout the night.
And when Lisa Miller won for Mustard Dogs, her eyes
went bang. She's just texted me she's just gone to bed,
(03:00):
but her eyes have gone bang. And I thought, this
is the this is the energy this room needs. Bethany, who,
as I said, neurodivergent, she said she was bullied into
a couple of years ago, and she held my hand
and she said, and here I am at the logis.
I said, that's the energy we all need, aren't we
lucky to be alive, lucky to be working, lucky to
be to be doing jobs we love. It reminded me
(03:21):
that for all the food, through and all the whatever,
that room is filled with human beings who are trying
to do the right thing. And also, as Lynn McGranger
said in her speech Free to Wear Television, it employs
so many people. It makes so many people at home happy.
It's a great industry to be part of. And I
was really proud to be there last night.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Yeah, well not me lately, but still still you did
a great job.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
Sampagne was hilarious.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Sam pag but a list don't so.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
This was the show that asked Sam Neil how he
found so many girlfriends. This was the show that asked
Anthony Albanezi how many kisses he'd got from his fiance. So, Bethany,
we are in a room filled with media personalities. Who
would you like to ask a question of everyone? Sphinked
as a tightening, asked a little over to you.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
Hatmish do you carry cash?
Speaker 1 (04:16):
And how much did you bring in your wallet for tonight?
Speaker 2 (04:19):
Everyone speaks but dead tired around there. Richard Wilkins, he
went on, hang on a minute
Speaker 1 (04:24):
He panicked the hell out of himself,
