Speaker 1 (00:00):
Jersey and Amanda gem Nation. So I went to see
Cirqu de Siles Loser. It's under the big Top at
the Entertainment Quarter. I've seen Cirqu Desila before and I
wonder how different it can be. This was incredibly different.
It was extraordinary. I'm still gobsmacked, to be frank. And
(00:21):
when you walk in, it's a big fiesta. Go. This
is a Mexican theme and so there's sort of Mexican music,
there's food stalls. The whole Mexican quarter around the big
top is brilliant. So give yourself some time to a
rand around before where colatures were performed as well in
that big top? Did they? Yeah, well, this is sort
of I don't know if it's the same big top
as the Losier people. Maybe they have their own big top.
(00:45):
But you sit around in a circle and it's a
full circus feel, and I was reminded so much of
it being like a circus, because there were moments in
it where your hands are over your face, you're nudging
the people next to you, going, oh my god, I
can't believe I'm seeing this. Because you think you've seen
trapeze artists before, and then I'll just do something that
you think, I've never seen anything like it. There's water
(01:07):
pouring from the ceiling and then it's suddenly it disappears.
There are trapeze artists or there are people up on poles,
and you think, what body part is that? No alone's
turning themselves inside out. It's quite extremes, a lot of
a lot of loins. There's a set on these swings
and you just ad gas. You think they're not going
(01:28):
to get from there to there. It's it's like old
school circus where your eyes are bugging out of your
head and you can't believe what you're seeing. And let
me show you this. I've got the brochure here. Look
at that. It's that's a contortionist. Well, it looked like
if that's not a he's got some trouble. But that's
(01:48):
it looks like he's been he's got no spine and
no animals, no real animals, but he looked like he
had no spine. And it's a mixture of fascination and
revulsion as you watch him writhe around and turn himself
into circles, and you go, is that his back or
his front? They put sawdust down. I needed it for
me it is. It is quite extraordinary and if you've
(02:11):
seen cirk Deslay before, this is nothing like anything you've
ever seen, but it is so worth this. Two thumbs
up from lunch, two thumbs up from me. It's on
until February nine, so a great Christmas present for somebody.
It's called Lousier the cirk Deslay. Highly recommended from me,
who I must say, had thought I'd seen it all
with Cirku Deslay. You certainly haven't
