Speaker 1 (00:22):
Of course, The Block returns Sunday night, seven o'clock, Channel
nine and nine. Now I've been trying to get a
word in with Scott Jonesy has completely hugged, hugged, hugged
and thrug Scott camp. I think questions about electricians, about
liquid free something or other. Do all your friends do this?

Speaker 3 (00:40):
Yes? Yes, Well we've been out there talking about Ken,
said Sparky, how good is kem? Said? Have you been
paid by Big Kens?

Speaker 2 (00:47):
So during my holidays I had to attach some poles
to some bricks, some masonry.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
So I got some and Scott them, I'll do you
go and do something.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Else a matter, I'll go and sit in the bimbow seat.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
I had to get some some threaded rod stalless book,
a rod, drill drill holes.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Yes, put the chem set in and man that that
rod's not coming out for love or money. Stick your
finger in that hole. You not, You'll never get it out.
You have to cut it off with the knuckle.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
They should have used it in that that dike should
have used it in Holland.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
The boy the dyke, Yeah, well forget chem said, if
you don't mind me saying, I'm more interested in getting
your finger stuck somewhere. Have you ever done that? Have
you like people who who make mistakes with glue and things?

Speaker 3 (01:28):
Well I have.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
There was a nice neat hole in some brickwork and
this young boy I was called friends of it, and
he did have his finger stuck in there.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
How do you get that? Well, I had.

Speaker 4 (01:39):
I got a cold chisel and I chipped around around
around until there was a little bit of lucist that
he got it out, and then we squirted him with
a bit of vegetable you know, oil, olive oil. Yeah,
because he went in with the knuckle and then the
brick just grabbed him.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Ye, your and your finger starts to swell. Yes, yes,
that's right. So I just chipped away and made a
hole and got him out.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
I'm trying to use it.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
And then I said the invoice four thousand dollars, and
I said that he was before the finger came out.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
No guarantee, no invoice, of course.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
So the block is back on Sunday night, and now
they're building houses from scratch.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
Yes, we are all the houses of the same footprint.
So now they're going to bring their a game in
design in wow factor, in their execution of their construction
to try and where the judges and take home the
win for the week. So it's really made it a
challenging for them, and it's great for everybody at home
because you get some great new ideas, new products, new
design Factor's, new colors. There's a whole new thing going

(02:38):
around which I didn't know about, called color drenching.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
What's that?

Speaker 4 (02:42):
That is the ceiling, the corners, the walls, the skirting,
the cupboards.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Are all the same color.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Is that the new thing?

Speaker 3 (02:50):
It's a new thing. It's not for everybody, but it
is a new thing, color drenching.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
I saw he made a comment that I thought was
really interesting about Adrian Ptelli, who the billionaire bidder and
he's no longer going to be involved. And I saw
you say, well, now that's great because these houses are
going to be sold to real Mum and dad.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
Well, that's what we've always tried drive for and it's
a public auction. We couldn't stop Adrian from turning out, sure,
but we've asked him. You know, mate, we'd like you
to stand down so we can give the mums and
dads out there that have been wanting to buy a
blockhouse at certain times over the years. And we've got
buyers advocates that come every year and get blown out
of the water. So now it's going to open that
up for those mums and dads for maybe a holiday

(03:29):
house or forever home or mom and dad and three kids.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
It'll be true. That's what we want.

Speaker 4 (03:33):
And where is it?

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Where's the location at.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
Dalsford Our hour and a half, Yeah, yet lovely hour
and a half out of Melbourne, food capital and the
biggest regional destination in Victoria as well. It swells from
eighteen hundred to like ten thousand every weekend. There's seven
hundred and fifty airbnbs there, so it's a real community.
And five hatted restaurants in a little tiny country.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Not five hatted restaurants. Five hatted yes, so there's five
restaurants that have hats.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
They're all hated, and there's lots of restaurants are fantastic,
but there a and there's two restaurants have got two hats.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Two had a restaurant, two had a restaurant.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Is there any Golden Marches there, No Ballarat, You'll have
to go.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
To to the Scottish restaurant. Well, this is the Galesit
is a very aspirational location, it is.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
Yeah, and also I might point out it's the gay
capital of Victoria. Yes, they have their own Chill Out
Festival which is like a Mardi Gras march with floats
and all that sort of thing. And yeah, a lot
of the community head there from Melbourne for that. For
that festival. There's I think there's ten or twelve thousand
people turn up.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
It is a great spot, that is, you head, Yes, indeed,
of course.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
Well we got our contestants to build a float yea
and participate in the Chill Out Festival as our very
first episode and that was a challenge for them that
were judged on their float and that's how they chose
the house.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
You'd have to use a choice. If you use chem
set on a so have you got to make it.
It wouldn't go anywhere.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Fingers in the rods and holes, you know.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
And thank you again for filling in for Amanda when
she was doing that secret TV project with doctor Chris Brown. Yes,
it's such a great job. Well I didn't really, but
you guided me magnificently mate.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
I want you to. We'll get our own float. Scott
Cam is here.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
The Block returns on Sunday at seven on Channel nine
and nine.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
