Speaker 3 (00:18):
Jersey and Amanda jam.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
Nation, Well we've welcomed in Lizzie Pearl and Steve Marshall.
They've walked into our banana and beef burps. Hello, everyone,
how are you good morning?

Speaker 3 (00:30):
It does smell like Mexican and.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Here well, yes, actually didn't taste as bad as we
thought it was going to taste. Now you may not know,
or maybe you do know that we in particular Brendan
Jones is obsessed with a Current Affair and the two
of you have a new podcast that looks at all
the stories, the behind the scenes, the weird stuff, the
funny stuff.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
And the serious stuff. I'm sure yep, so welcome, thank you, Yeah,
having us, Yeah, it's been great.

Speaker 4 (00:55):
We've been going a couple of weeks now and look,
you're right, Amanda, we look behind the scenes at a
current Affair. The show's been going for fifty odd years
and there's a lot to talk about.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
I mean, some of the stories I know are very serious,
but there's also a lot of stuff that's just fun,
well fun for us because we're not the people being
ripped off by bad trades, et cetera.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
I'm always impressed by the bravery of you guys. Do
you get nervous when you go up to someone's door
you don't know who it's going to be.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
Look, I think it's a combination of nervousness and excitement, right, Lizzie.

Speaker 5 (01:28):
Yeah, Well you always know because you've got the facts
on your side, right, So as nervous as you are,
you know the other person is going to be packing
it a lot more because we've finally showed up and
they may or may not have been expecting us.

Speaker 6 (01:40):
So you can put the nerves aside because you know
you you're on the on the good guys side and
you're doing something for a viewer or someone who's come
to us with a problem and hopefully we can sort
it out.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Is this the kind of thing when when you go
back to the office you say, Wow, you're not going
to believe the day I had? Is this kind of
what the podcast is?

Speaker 3 (01:56):
A little bit?

Speaker 6 (01:57):
Absolutely?

Speaker 4 (01:57):
Yes, spot On, spot On. You know what goes on
behind you know, making TV, and there's a lot to it.
There's a lot to it.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Your clothes starts to your jacket selection, your time selection.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
To go the George Negas, the jackets slung over the shoulder,
The militia are just over the hill.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Then knee the crouch, the crowd George.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Crouch And as you get older, it must get harder.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Used to be one of my favorite stories and out
of everyone. Okay, so there was the ultrasound.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
Ogrevictant mum's most treasured moments. But they're all fate.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Hundreds of women fleeced by Australia's ultrasound ogre. The Colder
Sack of Creeps, The Colder Sack of Creeps. Welcome to
Corilla Plex, where sixty five convicted sex offenders lived together
in the one.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Street Jones's pucked a couple of crackers out of favorite.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
One of all times was the cereal pervert pasta con man,
And so the reporter chased him down, kept tawning him
that he was a serial pervert past the con man,
and then he ended up getting the eve to actually
repeat that back to it.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
But you have no idea who I am.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
You're a serial pervert, the wrong thing you would have
got this place?

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Find up serial pervert con man, aren't you you are?

Speaker 3 (03:21):
Comment that's his linked in profile now and then he
fell over.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
Yeah, I do recall though, and that is a classic.
But you're right, Amanda, I mean we go beyond that.
The show does go beyond that, and it has moved
with the times. You've plugged a couple out of the
archives there, Jones, which are beauties. But look, you know
the show has moved with the times, and I think
we're a bit more sensitive these days.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Aren't we.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Too sensitive?

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Because I want to listen to the podcast and get
the juice. Yeah, yeah, look you do.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
I mean you come across those every now and again.
I think the last one was remember the the bloke
he climbed up upon the s c G roof Wallaby's
game and did a did a wee off the roof
onto the crowd.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
Yeah, did you have a puns for him?

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Did alliteration?

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Yeah? That was Peddler on the roof.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
And you even have the music for it.

Speaker 5 (04:13):
And the best thing about that story, Steve Marshall, is
one of the best bounces you'll ever see.

Speaker 6 (04:18):
He followed him for miles throughout Bondi Junction, up the escalator,
down the escalator, trying to get an answer out of him. Yeah,
you know that kind of behavior.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
You need to know why did you find why? No?
You know what?

Speaker 4 (04:31):
Not not on that occasion, you know. But I have, Yeah,
I have done a few k's after people. I recall
I'm just looking across now, across at the Harbor Bridge,
and I recall following a blake for about two and
a half k's through the sea. But it yes in
my rims and with a crew around you. By that
time the crew had dropped off.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
The blake.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
The blake he ran for two and a half k's
and I was running next to him saying, may do
you realize that I came third in my cross country?
He ran right into the Rocks police station. Would you believe?

Speaker 3 (05:08):
Did you lead him in there? You think?

Speaker 4 (05:09):
No?

Speaker 3 (05:09):
He led me there and.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
The copper would have hang on what's the current? Heck?

Speaker 5 (05:13):
There he for?

Speaker 2 (05:13):
What's happening?

Speaker 3 (05:14):
What have I done? Now?

Speaker 2 (05:15):
So the logis are on Sunday night and you guys
are up for the gong, which will be great.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Ali Langdon is up for the big one. She's up
for the goal.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Yeah, so that's going to be great. So don't go crazy,
don't cause your own disgrace. I understand that Ali's picking
up the tab after the show.

Speaker 5 (05:31):
Drugs, prostitutes and a very expensive steak.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
So I I need it for the steak.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
