Speaker 1 (00:01):
And Amanda jam Nation.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Well, hello Jonesy Amanda, and you got as well, so moved.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
By the movie, laugh cried all the feels that we wanted.
Did you always know that this was going to be
Bridget's story trajectory or each time there's a new movie
to go or what's she up to this time?

Speaker 1 (00:20):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (00:21):
Yeah, it's a rediscovery each time, now trying to figure
out how what life's thrown at her and the interim manifests,
how she's changed, how she hasn't changed.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Most importantly, how she hasn't changed, said in the Spaghetti
on Fire. But we're all on the journey with you.
We're so invested with Bridget. Leo, how did you feel
with this role, because not only do you convince Bridget
to go to find a new life her self, but
also you have to convince the audience we have to
trust you too, because we're all her friends. Did you

(00:51):
feel the weight of that when you did the role.

Speaker 4 (00:55):
Yeah, honestly, I kind of, particularly day day one and
day two. But once Michael director our director, Michael Morris
had sort of fed back that, oh, it's just lovely,
you guys have it, and then I thought, okay, it's
it's it's all good.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
But no, I think.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
It was.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
It was easy to.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
For us to have like fine on screen because you know,
we're both the scoofballs, and it.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Was I was a bit worried as soon as you
see the love montage come on, I thought, oh no,
please don't break Bridget Jones's hard. And there was a
bit there I don't want to give too much away,
and you kind of did, but you didn't. And the
ghost like the ghosting and all those things. Oh no,

(01:42):
this is dreadful.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
But you would have had to answer to the entire world.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Yeah. Yeah, it was like, I'm still waiting. I'm I'm
not looking forward to that.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
And you had your character had such an interesting trajectory
from mister whistleblowing straight guy to finding some spirituality and
some life in here too. Was that a fun arc
for you?

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Yeah? I loved I love this character, you know, I
love playing mister Walla, And I think a lot of
that was because of that, because he you know, he yeah,
he starts off and he's very buttoned up and he's
and that whistle was a lot of fun. Actually whistle.
You know, people really do kind of you know, they
sort of behave themselves around a very long allowed whistle.

(02:25):
The first time I blew that whistle, everything stopped, cast crew, background,
all the kids in the school, everybody stopped. And then
they took it away from me. Something but the but yes,

(02:47):
but the journey of of mister Wallaker was was so
fun and just so rich, and you know, it was
a really really wonderful, wonderful character and a wonderful experience.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
And I was spooking as well, although I just realized,
for I think I've spoken to you at every incarnation
of this movie, and each time we always said, oh,
this is a nice book. Get it's wrapped up. So
does that beg the question? Would there be another one?

Speaker 4 (03:12):
I wonder that you mentioned that because we've kind of
grown up together, haven't we.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
It's a it's a it's a long time. I haven't
gone anywhere else.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Thank you, the same thing.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Where's my whistle? A part of what's interesting too, You've
done so many incredible meaty roles, mean, twelve years a slave,
but you're so much a part of the pop culture
zeit guys love Actually every Christmas here we go and
now with Bridget Jones, you've really lucked into being a
pop culture icon great the early days of acting, did

(03:50):
you picture you be?

Speaker 4 (03:50):
That?

Speaker 1 (03:51):
I didn't know really what it sort of brings. And
I think one of the things about this profession has
always been amazing to me is just how surprising it
is and how unpredictable things are, you know. It's I'd
always loved the Bridget Jones films, but I didn't necessarily
see myself being part of that, you know, until Michael
Michael Morris, the director, sort of started speaking to me

(04:12):
about it, and I was like, this is really a
little intimidating. I have to say it because it's so beloved,
you know, but it was really wonderful and Renee is
so inviting into this sort of space and and playing
these brilliant characters.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
You know.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
It was a really wonderful and Leah your icon as well. Okay,
they can't hog.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
I didn't want to go, but you're on it.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
You're on the trajectory, know, White Lattice. You blow us
away with that, and now like, look at you go.
I just feel that you feel like you're left you go.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
What about my praise? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Yeah, it was nice throwback to me. The younger Pants
got another run the big Undies. Will will I bring
those out again? It was like, yeah, the Undies are back.
But also even with mister Darcy, that fabulous scene of
him coming out of the water in his previous life
and you've got to recreate that a little bit in

(05:07):
this film.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
Yeah, it was fun.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
Yeah, it was a cool thing to do, so great.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Actual it was a bit of a rig off competition
between you two guys.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
There's two.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
They've got the wet t shirt competition and then we've
got the stable shirt thing as well.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Ding well, I think, I think when when.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Wins and that's for the next incarnation, double ding dong.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
What he does with the chalk, that's for the next film,
The teacher surprise.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Well, we enjoy catching up with you guys.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
It's great to see him again.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
The film is so wonderful. It's always a comfortable cardigan
to put on, but always a surprising, funny, wonderful journey.
And I missed you and I miss it already. I
want another one.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
So get to it.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Listen and break out the big andes.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
I did today. I wish I was choking. Thank you,
thank you,
