Nation we worked this morning to the news we've lost
Ozzy Osborne at the age of seventy six. He was
diagnosed with Parkinson's disease or told us of his Parkinson's
in twenty twenties. Obviously had health issues for much of
his life. In two thousand and three had a near
fatal quad bite crash, and I think had a lot
of medical stuff that happened for him after that, addiction problems.

Speaker 4 (00:41):
Musically, you know him better than I.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Yeah, well, paranoid or iron Man.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
The guys in their slug os run out of the water,
Bryan Man competitions.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
I don't know that one. Okay, Pigs in this generals
gather great drums.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Massive, just like witches, that black massive.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
You know this right? Good nice voice.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Let's get to the hook, Sorcerer of death construction in
the fields. About where's the hook is? It does go
for six minutes?

Speaker 4 (01:37):
What else?

Speaker 4 (01:49):
That is a beautiful song. That is a beautiful song.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
That certainly cuts deep on the daylight today.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
It does, doesn't it?

Speaker 1 (01:54):
And for many people, probably more like me, I knew
of Black Sabbath, knew vaguely what musically he was doing.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Yeah, and no one would judge you for not being
in the Black Sabbath. I look at you and I think, well,
you're not a Black Sabbath.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
No, But I think so many of a story to
side of him.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
When he did his reality show, his family were the
first reality TV show family, and we saw a funny,
slightly befuddled, loving father he was.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
He was actually so funny and one man.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
He'd be completely vague then bang, just say the funniest
things is the dogs were on the campet and all
the rest of it. We all came to know him
quite differently through that show.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
We caught up with him a few times on our show.
It was always a great guest. Do you remember that
time he was telling the story about when he came
to Australia, went.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
To Australia and how was his grown since our first
going to Australia. I remember going to a party and
this guy comes in somewhere and he goes, oh, you
were bad, Black sews as well. He goes, I bought
your first your album. Okay it.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
He's Prime Minister now.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Australians speak your mind. I love it.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
At least he bought the album.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Yeah, he didn't like it. May then rapidly, but he.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Didn't take it back to you and say, hey, give
me my give money about my money back?

Speaker 1 (03:21):
I once meant Ozzie when he was I was working
at Triple M and we're having a promotion. This is
before the reality show. So Sharon looked quite different. She
this is before all the as. She says, She's had
a lot of work done. He says old Sharon and
Ozzie looked quite befuddled, and his hair was caught in
his bracelets and she was trying to untangle it. And
he looked up at me and he said, I know you.

(03:43):
He remembered me from Beyond two thousand. He used to
watch Beyond two thousand on satellite television. His wife said, yeah,
he remember me.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
We always used to watch that show.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
What a surreal moment. But just a few weeks ago,
like less than two weeks ago, he performed a final concert.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
It was called.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Back to the Beginning and it was quite extraordinary. He
rose from the stage in a black throne. He sang
seated and he said these emotional farewell words.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
I just want to say to you on behalf of
the guys in Black Sour and myself.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Young.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Support over the earth has made it all possible. First
liver lifestyle we live. Thank you for Thebaama.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
I love you, we love you, and you know what.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
On that night they raised one hundred and ninety million
dollars for charity. Much of it went to Parkinson's research,
A lot of it went to a children's hospital, a
children's hospice.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
What an incredible thing to do. One hundred and ninety
million dollars.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Well done, as he thanks Zussie. It's been a wild ride.

Stuff You Should Know
Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
