Speaker 1 (00:01):
And Amanda gem Nation. When you go into labor, you
don't always expect the timing of it as much as
you imagine that you'll be in the comfort of your
own home. You'll feel some twinges, your waters might break
in the comfort of your own kitchen, on a floor
you can clean, and you go this, I'm off to
the hospital.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Lady the other day that she went into the hospital
gave birth to the baby, was starving to death, asked
the nurse can I have something to do it? And
they said, well, you didn't order anything, so well, I
didn't think I'd be giving birth to a baby today.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
There's lots of stories around about when you get into
the pointy end of your labor, of your pregnancy. Some
women talk about carrying a bottle of lemonade with them
or something so that if your waters break at the
shops or something like that, you can say, you smash
a bottle next and so I've just spilt some lemonade. Why, well,
to cover the embarrassment this is, this isn't necessarily what

(00:52):
I would do. That's old school, Yeah, old.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
School, because nowaday women would be a badge of honor.
I've broke them my waters look at me, queen.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Work, we're still going on with all that, or well,
not everyone feels like that, but not everyone can predict
the timing. Imagine. This woman has taken to kid Spot
to talk about what happened to her when she went
into labor. It was Halloween. I'm going to show you
a picture. Brendan. Yeah, she's in hospital just after giving birth.

(01:22):
Chez Shrek, the Grinch. She's got she's dressed, full face paint,
everything as the Grinch. She's got a hospital gown on,
she's got markings on her face, she's got full green face,
she's got a beard, she's got the whole Grinch thing going.
And she said, I was wheeled into the Eer in

(01:42):
full costume on Halloween, full Grinch face, green hands, Santa suit,
and onion in my hand, and it reminded me. We've
spoken about this before. Kirstie Ali from Cheers, from Three
Men and a Baby, famous actress Kursti. Al, Yeah, that's
that's true. But she said both her parents were killed

(02:05):
in a car accident and she was with her sister
in the hospital when all this was taking away.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
That was Halloween as well.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Once again, this was on Halloween. My sister and I.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
We were all sitting in this waiting room and.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
We were sobbing.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
And as I'm crying, I said, my sister's here, and
I wasn't looking at her and I said where were
they going?

Speaker 1 (02:24):
And she said to a Halloween party?

Speaker 2 (02:26):
And I said, what were they dressed?

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Ass?

Speaker 2 (02:28):
And she said the odd couple?

Speaker 1 (02:32):
What odd couple, Walter math Ow and Jack Lemon?

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Well, what were their costumes?

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Exactly? She said Mom was a black girl and dad
was a Koklox clan member, and the whole family, I
guess it, had heard this conversation and we all started
laughing and it was the greatest tribute that you could
give my mother. So we've spoken about this. That is
this how you turn up at the Pearly gates. She's
in blackface and he dress as a clan member. And

(02:57):
you'd be saying, and also saying to the to the
the emergency workers, he's dressed as a clan member. This
is why don't judge him. He's not a member of
the clan. Yeah, bad timing to be in a car accident.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
I'm very mindful of my underwear as a motorcyclist.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
A plan underwear, underwear, Remember Ossie bum.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
They sent me a whole range of underpants, and there's
some pretty fruity sort of underpants like smell. They're just
fruity looking, like this pink underwear. And then there's this
other one. It's like a Japanese sumo underpant. So it's
got this elasticized waist. Yeah, and it's got like it's
not a G string, but it's like.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
A lap lap and I'll say the front.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
It's kind of comfortable. But anyway, and I've actually had
this before. I'm lying on the side of the road
waiting for the ambulance to come, and I've actually thought
what sort of underwear am I wearing today?

Speaker 1 (03:51):
I don't want to be judged.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
I want because when I've got cleaned up that big
accident in Newcastle, they're just wielding me through the John
Hunter hospital.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
There have you been to that hospital?

Speaker 2 (04:01):
No, huge, just like a shopping cetter. But they're just
wheeling me through the food court and I'm just in underpants,
reasonable underpants, and I'm just so out of it on
Morphing and people just eating their their chicken schnitzel watching
me go past. So least he's got are all over
for me. And they're like, you'll be right, mate, don't
worry about I'm gonna I can we put a blank
And I couldn't put the blanket on me because I

(04:22):
was so out of it.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Out of your underpants?

Speaker 2 (04:25):
My back was brake.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
I was once chopping pumpkin because I'm left handed, you say,
I cut things like the Swedish chift from the dreadful luppets,
and I sliced right right down to the bone. And
I had my hand over the sink and our hot
water had been off, so I hadn't showered, and I
just had pretty much tracks it on, no unders anything,
And I thought, I can't go to hospital like this,

(04:48):
So I wrapped my hand up in a tea towel,
and despite the discomfort, I put underpants on for exactly
that reason, exactly.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
The reasonable underpants.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Well, I just put andys on, is it? But they
weren't going to be cutting my clothes off or anything.
But I didn't want to go to and I didn't
want to phone any medical assistance. Without dyes on.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Yeah, but you want your sexy andies.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
I wouldn't got changed into lingerie obviously, crutch. So look
at my finger. Look at this get some of this.
I got it done that didn't happen Brandon, And they say,
why you dressed like the Grinch. I said, I'm not
