Speaker 1 (00:00):
Jersey and Amanda Jamna was watching Dancing with the Stars
last night and as former players from Dancing with the Stars.
You were on it in two thousand and six. I
was on it in twenty.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Thirteen, and I went on to host it and I.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
Went on to do nothing. It was interesting how I
ended up on Dancing with the Stars because at the
same time, I'd been slated to host The Bachelor. Remember
that TV show The Bachelor, and it was all happening.
My agent said, don't worry, you won't be dancing on
Dancing with the Stars. You're the Bachelor guy. You're going
to be doing it.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
And how did that play out?

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Oha Ginsburg ended up doing The Bachelor, and I ended
up on Dancing with the Stars.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
And now Osha Ginsburg is there with the Stars.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
I thought with because I'm a very competitive person, so
I thought, is he actually better than me? And I
said to my wife is he better than me? And
she said, yes, everyone's better than you, Brendon So and
I accept that, but.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Can I tell you the reason you were so successful
is that you were able to see criticism as war
of ducks back women.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
It's it's not my forte.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
No one's forte, but women find it very hard. I
think they're harder on the women than the men. But
people like a galumping fool if you don't mind me saying,
and you played that role, you tried your best. You
didn't mock it. You tried your best and that was
what was charming and funny. But what doesn't work is
if you lose your temper at the criticism, because that

(01:26):
does not play in your favor.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
You didn't watch it last night. No, okay, have a
listen to this and just tell me if you think
this is cringey or not. This is Osha pushing back
at Craig Revel Hallward, one of the judges.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
A right royal mess that was coming down the side.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
I don't know what that step was meant to be
coming down the ramp tarling, but whatever it was, it
was fumble.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Would you like to try going down that perspect tramping
those heels, sir, You're more than welcome to show me
how to do it.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
That is not my job.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
But I need you to be doing in a tango
step while the person next to you was on one
foot kicking and you're holding their momentum against you after.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
You, Well, we'll do that at some other stage, Darling.
It was completely erratic. You're making mistakes left, right and center.
Even after the ramp. There was gapping all the way through.
I mean, all of these things you need to try
and achieve. I mean I think it would have been
better if it was a lot simpler for you and
just stuck to your guns with normal ballroomzing. That's not

(02:29):
really risky.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
I guess the last dance I did, Cray, I took.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
Crazy risks and that was great.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
The first episode, take big risks. I said to Shannie,
don't simplify it. Give me the hardest version of this
there is.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
And that's what she did.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Yeah. Good, but it didn't work.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Sadly, I would rather have it do it and have
it not work and give it a shot.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Well, let's hope the audience is on your side. You
think that way as well.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Ultimately they weren't because you pard it lot.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
I can't breathe hearing that. The hard thing and you
would know this too, Brendan, is the point of this
show is to watch celebrities do something they don't know
how to do and be told off, and you have
to suck it in. You always want to say, why
don't you come and try my job? Once you learn
my job in a day and see how you go.
You always want to say, hey, this is really hard

(03:15):
and I'm doing my best. But you just have to
smile and say I did my best. You cannot snip
back at the judges because it sounds like that exactly.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
You look at me when Helen said this to me.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
You had a minute and a half of music and
in that time there's over two hundred beats and I
don't think you hit one of them down, Nadine, if
you'd said why don't you come and try this? Imagine
osher On says Australia when you get yelled at in
the face, woodn't handle lad, What are you.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Talking about coming and do this job? You shave a
monkey down and you put it in the studio.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
Well that's your part.
