Jersey and Amanda jam.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Nation Jonesy demand of arms for the pub test today
putting bread in the fridge? Does it pass the pub test?

Speaker 3 (00:09):
What are the judges from British? Bakoff And he's a
celebrity chef. He's known as King of Bread. His name
is Paul Hollywood.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Naturally he's going to be a celebrity chef.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Well, he said, no, don't put it in the fridge.
He said, it will get stale three times faster because
you're drawing the moisture out. People have said no, if
you'd leave it out on the counter, it gets mold
and once a single layer has mold, you got to
chuck the whole thing out. So what do you think
putting bread in the fridge past the pub test?

Speaker 4 (00:33):
No, it goes star quicker. And plus why would you
put it in the fridge. You'd only put it in
the freezer. Let's just leave their fresh until it goes
out to date.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
Absolutely not gross. It shouldn't go in there.

Speaker 5 (00:45):
Do you buy it on the shop in the fridge? Yeah,
of course I heard put it in the fridge all
the time. And if it goes a bit harder, I
just put it in the microwave, suffer it up for
about ten seconds of the compound, nice and press. That's
how the way to curtain fresh and put them on
the side that it always goes for a mold So
that's the way to say money, that's my opinion.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
No, I freezed my bread two classes at a time,
don't you, Me and my husband, and it just goes moldy.
Sometimes you don't eat a lot of bread, so yeah,
pop it in the freeze a couple of classes at
a time, bring it out when you need it.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
There you go, you get freezing. I've got bornhof and
bread from the seventies.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
Yeah, I think I do too, frozen. Yeah, it's my
emergency rations, along with all the cauliflower right froz that
I'm going to eat any minute now.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
You remember the Bornolf and TV commercials.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
Was it like an old painting where they're all wearing
aprons and.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Yeah, those those busty busty wenches eating bread.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
I don't remember it like you did. You say you're
off the cards bread. I love that ad.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
It's on YouTube.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
