Speaker 1 (00:01):
And Amanda gem Nation.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Down to the Jonesy the man of arms for the
pub test today, acceptance speeches?

Speaker 3 (00:07):
Do they pass the pub test?

Speaker 2 (00:09):
In the Year's Gone by? Ricky Gervais hosted the Emmys,
and he right at the beginning of the performance, said this.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
If you do win an award tonight, don't use it
as a platform to make a political speech. Right, You're
in no position to lecture the public about anything. You
know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent
less time in school than Greta Thumberg. So if you win, right,
come up, accept your little award, thank your agent and
your God and off.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Okay, Well, well, Nate Bogatse, who's a very soft comedian,
he's America's most popular comedian at the moment. He hosted
the Emmys, and he tried to find a fun and
silly way, as he said, to stop the speeches going
too long. The longer you spoke over forty five seconds,
money would be deducted from a fund for the Boys
and Girls Club of America. In the end, they donated
all the money anyway, of course, but rather than making

(00:58):
it fun and light, it actually led to something anxiety
around the speeches, and everyone just spoke about sorry to
cost everyone some money, and there were some important moments
throughout it that were diminished because they weren't allowed to
make their speeches. How do you feel acceptance speeches? Do
they pass the pub test?

Speaker 4 (01:14):
I think so not.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Is you going to tell everyone what you think about now?
It doesn't because the Yanks.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
Just like to hear their own voice.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
I think it does pass the pub test. I mean,
there's actresses and actors that work so hard, but there's
also the people behind the scenes that put way more
effort into it. So I think it's nice for them
to be recognized. You know, let the people in the
back end shine through.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
Yes I do and what they should do. You should
get up there and say chi ching, thank you and
good off.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
Okay, Well, then there's always is when you win the
LOGI next year.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Yeah, Kaj, it's a dollar fifty I didn't have before.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
In your face, gleas.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
I'm going to get a wind Field commercial of it.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Yeah,
