Speaker 1 (00:00):
Jersey and Amanda jam Nation.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
The Jeronsey demand RUMs the pub test today making Aussie
support as mandatory.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
Does it pass the pub test?

Speaker 3 (00:09):
Well?

Speaker 4 (00:09):
The Men's Labor Government isn't at this stage making the mandatory,
but they have announced that there will be significant twenty
thousand dollars reduction in your fee for your venue if
you use an Australian support acts.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Got it be just the sandwiches for Lady Gaga show.
That's the thing.

Speaker 4 (00:25):
Would international acts care the big ones that are making
so much money? But that is a significant amount for
slightly smaller acts. This is a way of getting Australian
acts to have higher visibility. But do you want to
go and see a support act that you don't know?
Would you rather see the support act that the International
Act brings out with them?

Speaker 5 (00:42):
So?

Speaker 4 (00:43):
Where how do you feel about.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
This Owenzil Kiss?

Speaker 2 (00:45):
When they came here for their last last tour and
they had the Poor on do you love the poor?
P double o R poor P double o R the poor?
They great da great more wine way to please come in?

Speaker 1 (00:56):
You know that song?

Speaker 5 (00:57):
No?

Speaker 4 (00:57):
I don't think I do, But I didn't know how
the Kiss songs are there? And I was a fan
of this, making Ozzie support acts mandatory. Should we be
doing that? Does it pass the pub test?

Speaker 5 (01:07):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (01:07):
Absolutely?

Speaker 5 (01:09):
I am one hundred percent for this because the way
Spotify is screwing over artists, it's very hard for them
to get out there now, and it would be awesome
if an Australian act is there before the main overseas act.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
Look, I think it's a tough one because most international
bands travel with their support bands, So what are they.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Going to say to them? You know, you have a
rest while we go and do the tour.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
I think they need to.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Have a support and this Ozzy support pan so it's
like kid support bands.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
I think it's equivalent to a tariff. If you're importing acts,
you're paying more. If you're using local.

Speaker 5 (01:45):
Acts, you pay left.

Speaker 6 (01:46):
I agree that we shall be supporting local talent, like
last year I saw Pink twice and Tones and I
opened up for her and she was brilliant.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
I'm against it. I think it's just smoke and mirrors
to hive the fact that we've lost so many lives
venues over the last couple of decades. I totally agree,
but I don't know when did the rules change. Because
since the seventies, eighties and nineties, part of the rules
of international acts coming to Australia was they had to
employ so many Australian employees, and that used to always

(02:18):
include that payment.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Viga interesting
