Speaker 1 (00:00):
Jes and Amanda jam Nason, the Jonesy demand of arms
for the pub test, and this one set the chat
around the water cooler ablaze.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Releasing them then to his brothers, does it pass the
pub test?

Speaker 3 (00:12):
In nineteen eighty nine, these two brothers were sentenced for
killing their parents in their la home. The prosecution said
they did this because they wanted to inherit a fourteen
million dollar estate. The defense since then has tried to
get a new trial by saying that the boys had
been molested and this didn't come out in that first trial.
And we do accept that we know more about sexual
abuse and how for survivors, how that is these days,

(00:36):
having said that they brutally, it's not disputed they brutally
murdered the parents and went on a giant spending spree
with the money.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
And I think particularly about the mum. They saying the
mum was compliant, she knew about it, but she did
she was she protecting herself. That hasn't really been documented, hasn't.
It wasn't like she was sitting there watching it and
condoning it. She was just kept being quiet. Well, all
this is here, sir, being devil's advocacy.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
So what do you think they are possibly up for parole.
Doesn't mean they will be paroled. But releasing them Menendez
brothers after all this time, does it pass the pub test?

Speaker 4 (01:08):
I think it's totally unfair. I don't think that they
should be let out of jail. They've done a crime,
they killed their parents, and yet they're allowed to walk free.
Definitely not. They need to do their time now. It
doesn't do the crime, do the time. Yeah, it does
pass the pub test because I think they've done their time.

Speaker 5 (01:26):
At the end of the day, what's done is done. However,
if it hadn't come to that the voice were molested,
then they shouldn't have gone to jail. But at the
end of the day, they did do the crime, so
unfortunately they have to do the time. Should they be
released now, No, they should still keep serving time.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
In full circle on that one, a lot of Devil's
Advocate being played there. But the thing about this, do
you want to see them suddenly on the living the high,
on the whole life

Speaker 3 (01:56):
You know out of that Well, they have served thirty years,
is it's a long time, but that crime was pretty horrendous.
