A zoo in Denmark has asked people to donate their
pets to feed its captive carnivores. They want rabbits, chickens,
guinea pigs and horses. I was reading this morning about
a woman who had to euthanase her daughter's horse, a
teenage daughter, and the daughter said, yes, let's donate it
to the zoo because the zoos say that they need
the further bones of the organs. It's not enough just

to mince something up.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
And his daughter's horse died and on the farm and
they had to dig a hole for us, a massive
hole for this horse. And you know, it took a
bit of that was on his land.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
And it's pretty grizzly having to do that.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
I don't know people in suburbia that have got horses.
What they do, well, well.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
That's right, what they What this zoo does is it
will take the hook the animal for you, euthanase it
kindly and deal with that. This woman who did this
with the horse, she said, we got to say our
final goodbyees. She said she was so impressed. You later
tried to donate another horse was too big to fit
in the zoo's fridge, ended up as dog food.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
But these are a fridge at two o'clock in the morning.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
I'm dying for a snack.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Here, not a horse for a zooper due.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
So how do you feel donating your dead pets to
the zoo? Does it pass the pub test?

Speaker 4 (01:28):
Yes? Absolutely. If a horse is using nazed by a vet,
it has to be buried at least two meters feep,
two hundred meters away from a water source and two
hundred meters away from your neighbor's fence. So that's really
hard to achieve. You have to get a man and
with an excavator, and it can be really emotional, and
I think it's a really nice waiver do it. I
believe that your pet is put your pride in joy

and to give it to another animal in the zoo.
But he's just really inhumane. So no, it doesn't pass
the pub test. Keep him at home bury the messing
your back out gett incimated.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
I think he does. I'll send my wife to fit
me to some poor polar bear if I'm dying because
I want wildlife to survive, and I think there's no
problem with it.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
So he wants his wife to feed him to a
polar bear. Imagine putting him in your suitcase, saying to
border security, I'm off to the north Pole.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
What about the specifics of that other lady two hundred
meters from here?

Speaker 3 (02:23):
That's what that's how it is now.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
And then you've got to get a man in with
a back really hard.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
But also with that middle caller who said bury them
in your backyard. If you buy a property, do you
want to know that there are ten dogs and cats
buried underneath?
