Kristen and Nige for Breakfast on MIX 106.3. Everything Canberra, two friends, having a laugh and spinning the tunes, 6am - 9am.
Nige woke up to sad news this morning when he found out about the passing of Dieter Brummer. After speaking to a number of people about this unfortunate news, they mentioned that he was one of the favourite stars and they would put posters up of him around their room.
Kristen and Nige wanted to turn this news into a bit of a positive and ask Canberra, what posters of people did you have on your wall?
This was giving us flashbacks!
It isn't very often you get a very good burn, let alone even by your parents.
Well that is what happened to Billy! He was out with his mum buying her some cooking equipment and when speaking to a shop assistant, she really gave him the best BURN!
Billy isn't alone. There were plenty of other Canberrans who have felt the burn.
Nige is talking lazy people and Kristen is into it.
This came about after Nige heard a story of a girl who was asked to clean her room but instead just put a video on of a vaccum cleaner and napped instead. Very funny!
We definitely found the laziest person in Canberra and it is Louise from Chapman's son. It is hilarious.
Kristen is in trouble with her mum. A purchase was made that really put her in hot water. Tomorrow is Kristen's birthday and she saw a pair of shoes, bought them, as a gift for herself and also as a gift for her own birthday (from her mum).
Well Kristen's mum wanted to surprise her this year but it looks like it won't happen.
Nige on the other hand - he loves surprises.
Kristen and Nige found out that Kylie Minogue parents are called Ron and Carol. The guys are completely obsessed with this fact and want to find Canberra's most 'Aussie' sounding couple names.
We love some of our callers couples names and we actually think they are better than Ron and Carol.
Have you had an event postponed? Right now this seems like a normal thing right now.
Kristen and Nige speak with Laura about her wedding that has been postponed a bunch of times - how AWFUL!
We also catch up with other Canberrans about events they were supposed to attend but NO and one of them have been postponed more times than we can count.
Is Kristen okay!? We are currently asking this question. Hugo has gone to daycare for the first time and Kristen had a little bit of time to herself. This is a rare occurrence.
So Kristen say down and opened up her phone and stumbled on an app that turns you into a lemon. Kristen posted the video and a lot of people thought it was just a little bit odd....
Is she okay!?
If you can never get enough true crime... Congratulations, you’ve found your people.
We’re at our most vulnerable when we go to our doctors. We trust the person at the other end of that scalpel. We trust the hospital. We trust the system. Christopher Duntsch was a neurosurgeon who radiated confidence. He claimed he was the best in Dallas. If you had back pain, and had tried everything else, Dr. Duntsch could give you the spine surgery that would take your pain away. But soon his patients started to experience complications, and the system failed to protect them. Which begs the question: who - or what - is that system meant to protect? From Wondery, the network behind the hit podcast Dirty John, DR. DEATH is a story about a charming surgeon, 33 patients and a spineless system. Reported and hosted by Laura Beil.
This is what the news should sound like. The biggest stories of our time, told by the best journalists in the world. Hosted by Michael Barbaro. Twenty minutes a day, five days a week, ready by 6 a.m.
