Speaker 1 (00:01):
Time for barriers bits.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
When you've got to get work, you've got to get
into work Clobber. Their eight tray stores are everywhere, so
when you need it you can get it or check
out work clobber dot com dot U.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Yesterday was Melbourne Gap as well, and.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
How'd you go?

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Well? Actually I noticed it on Monday on your show,
Yes you guys, I did tip the winner?

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Oh did you?

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Yes? So I'm riding with Jamie Mellam, who's on the
Melbourne Cup favorite and half yours yes, not up.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Yours Cup winner, Yes.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Trying to become the second female jockey to win the
famous race.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
Did you put a dollar on it?

Speaker 1 (00:41):
And I didn't bet on it? I told my kids though,
and of course they wouldn't have a clue about how
to bet either. So I'm hoping that a few listeners
out there did well. But wasn't it great to see
the second woman win the cup? And as you the
double yes you said les the Corfield Cup. I was
amazed when I listened back to that and heard that
you said that because the time I was thinking about myself,

(01:02):
of course, knowing that it won the core Field. Well done,
first woman to do that. So her speech is great too.
I love how she said it was the greatest moment
of her life. And she got married this year. Well,
where did his horse come?

Speaker 3 (01:20):
It was?

Speaker 2 (01:20):
He was the Romans, Smoking Romans.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
I like the name, so smoking Romans came in fourteenth.
There you go, which is better than my two horses?
Sixteenth and nineteenth?

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Are you in the sweep? Was it? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:33):
I didn't even get my money back for last Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
And she linked up with Michelle Payne later on. Of course,
the first woman to win the Melbourne. Can't remember her
speech when she said everyone can everyone else can go
and get stuffed. Women can do anything. It was very iconic,
but a national ritual, no doubt. Absolutely the race that
stops productivity for the day.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
That's another way of putting it.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Like that, putting it I like that. And then all
the experts at work, you know, they reckon. They know
about horses and track conditions and form guides, and they
haven't got a clue what a quinnella.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Is great on a rainy day.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
Well, I'm looking down a list of the favorites here
and I'm not so sure they know entirely what they're
talking about.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Now. It's too many horse twenty four horses and all
the experts pretend at work, pretending to work after lunch.
That's the best bit. Actually, I was talking to the
the printer repaired like at work by just by coincidence.
Apparently on Melbourne Cup Day it's always the busiest day
of the year, and especially just before midday, the printers

(02:40):
seem to break down everywhere. Oh yeah, so that must
be because no one wants to do any work.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Sometimes I break down later in the day too with
the office path for different reasons.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
I'm sat on it.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Yeah, do you reckon things have changed a copy?

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Yeah, but they're one of the same.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Your age when they sit on the tells I'm kind
of copied that for a while on the Telics fact
fax machine, remember that thing? Yes, yeah, I think it's anyway,
we digress. But you know what hasn't changed is the
celebrations at the course of course.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
That's my other favorite part of the day is go
through the photos. Yes, there were a lot of bin
bags doubling as ponchos yesterday.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Yes, a messy untidy day. Yeah yeah on a sunny day.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Where was that?

Speaker 3 (03:42):
Oh at the same event. But you know it's almost
like they were almost almost well behaved.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Yeah, I don't want to be a hypocrite or anything,
but because I was the King of tent Land, I
got to say the races. But when you, I think,
when the girls are carrying their shoes, it's a it's
a dead giveaway something's going or have no shoes, shoes.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
In one hand, cat of pre mix in the app.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
If you try to walk in stilettos in the mud
on a heavy.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
Track, on a heavy track, falling into the not good,
falling into the shrubbery, that sort of stuff. When you
got there with the camera, it's classic actually because obviously
we go out there and we're not looking for those people.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Yes, you're giving the people what they want.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
It just happens for the Christmas party. As soon as
you put the light on, all the intelligence here they
give you a wide birth. Yeah, they disappear, right and
then all the nup nuts and who's inebriated, anyone.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Who's to get one chance to get on telling in
their life barrel and they are grabbing it with both has.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Going straight for the light.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
I don't care about the celebrities that are there. I
want to see the nut nuts. I want to see
them falling over hedges in bin bags.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
When they say nap to the cup.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Those guys on the bus, I'd say, up the cut,
it's incredible. There's like moths to the to the light.
It must be something about the light on the camera.
I don't know what it is, but anyway, so you
would have seen a bit on the news last night
and those people will be feeling terrible today, feeling terrible
and hopefully that they don't have any you know, I

(05:20):
think the key to getting through is that you don't
have HR calling up the other day as well at work.
You reckon. That is the absolute key, and also that
you don't lose a heap of money. That's if we
were doing the Dad segment today, I would be talking about,
you know, the problems with overcooking it on these days
when you think you're always trying to get out of jail,

(05:41):
that sort of stuff. But I reckon the big story
that taken has taken over everything is And you would
love this when you're King Charles Nighting David Beckham.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
I love it so I love now Lady Beckham.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
So she's possh and proper now lady lad advice Yeah
was and the King, his royal hotness. That's what ye calling,
said David. That's on the front page paper. I love that.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
I love them. I really like David Beckham. I've always
been a big fan and I'm very glad that he's
finally taken Awhile, well, yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
He won me when he lined up to see the queen.
You know when the queen. Remember he lined up for
like twelve hours or something. He didn't go to the front.
So hey, I'm I've got an obe. I am yeah,
So the obe has sort of been put to the side.
And now he said David, for his charity work, ambassador work,
he's probably the first guy. Will you be the bloke

(06:42):
with the most tattoos to get to be knighted? I
reckon too, I don't reckon, and he won't be the last.
What's he going to put on his body now? I
suppose officially posh now or something.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
A new sword or something.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
Good times.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
Great to see you guys. You on Friday.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
You look like you're dressed up for somewhere a little
more classy than tent Land today. All right,
