Barra joined Lisa and Russell with all the sports news from the weekend including India's win against the Aussies in the 3rd T20 game. Plus in the AFLW, The Eagles have made the finals for the very first time cementing coach Daisy Pearce as a super coach for the team and there was a pitch invader at the Ashes Rugby League Test Match who talked his way onto the field and lined up for the National Anthem.

As well as all that a Freo Dockers favourite got married in the Swan Valley at the weekend and tomorrow, it's Melbourne Cup day so Barra had his tip for the big race.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
Time some Barris bits. That was quick. Good morning, good morning,
good morning on Yeah, I was just.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Relaxing their beautiful morning, glorious morning out.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
There to me thirty one degrees.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Yeah, I know, its sensational. It's it's weird because obviously
we're going into cricket season and I heard on the
news end some of the tour and froms have just
arrived some of the players. Some of the players, yeah,
Josh Archer and a few others. So that's nice to see.
It's good they've arrived, so I don't have to go
to the airport and steak him out.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Now they beat you, yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Otherwise they come from New Zealand. Otherwise. Australia and India
played overnight. Actually I don't know if it was actually overnight.
I think it was last night. India won by five
wickets in this T twenty series that we've got, so
we're tied at one all. But what was fascinating for
me two matches to play. What was fascinating for me
was Way's Tim David. I don't know if you know him.

(00:56):
He's a giant, just a very strong man. Plays ipl
You hit the biggest six ever recorded?

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Wow? How how big is big.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
One hundred and twenty nine meters. So when you think
about one hundred meters sprint.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
Next street, it's a little under what ten seconds for
someone like who's saying bolt.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Yeah, the ball probably went faster than it would have. Yeah, yeah,
is that where you're going with that?

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Or how far is? How far? How far is.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Or how far is one hundred meters? It takes the
fastest man in the world, you know, seconds to run it.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Well, this one one hundred and twenty nine meters. It's
actually hit the sign on the top of Ninja Stadium
in Hobart.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
And have you seen the movie The Natural with Robert
Red long time ago? You know when he hits the
stadium lights a bit like that. Remember that. No you
don't know, no, I do not.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Yeah, well, what happens it he hits the ball and
it hits the lights.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
The sparks go everywhere, all right. It was a big six,
let's let's call it a big six.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
And they measured the speed of the ball coming off
the bat. It was one hundred and fifty five kilometers
an hour, right, So if you're standing close to that,
it's coming out your one hundred and fifty.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
K, so some of the even a ninja would be scared.
Fine snoozie like I hate seeking missile.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Some of those umpires now sous where they wear guards
like little Ship. I don't blame them, sort of like
Captain America because they're worried about getting hit. Anyway, that's
the cricket bit. Over the footy. The Eagles women's team,
how can see this? They've qualified for the finals in
afl W for the first time.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
That's good, yep, Daisy Pierce, the super coach.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
The girls were all at their houses watching Essendon beat
They need to upset Sydney.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
That was a big scoring game too.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Wasn't it is that three points.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
This morning making There were a few.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
There were a few memes floating around yesterday after that final,
sir and went, yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Well they're so lovable the afl W Eagles team, I
got to say. And the Docks beaten by the Crozier
so they actually missed out. They were very stiff, real
heart breakout through everything at Adelaide. Couldn't get it done.
So this season is over. But the Eagles advanced to
Carlton on Saturday elimination final. But the funniest moment of
the weekend was that pitch invader invader at the Ashes

(03:21):
Rugby League test match. You see that black Java, he's
just bobbed up. Lease, he's infiltrated.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
The can got in the in the team photo or something.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Nationally when they were doing he believed me he was
the odd one out.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
When you looked at.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Him, he looked like an average man and the Australian
camera monster was standing next to him and he looks
at him and he just thought, oh, this must be
the coaches. It was something, so he didn't say to him.
He explains it here as we go out.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
It was an interesting one. Myself and Patty had a
bit of a superstition that me and him sand together
on the anflement. So I'm going I try to get
in between me and him, and I looked at him
like ah, and then he goes again, can I stand
next to you and hold you? I was like, oh, yeah,
I do what you need to do. But I just
assumed that he had like a corporate package or he
had some ah, had some agreement with the kangaroos that
he could jump in with the hands on And I'm
like actually, and then I realized it was there was

(04:15):
a guy that does that stuff on a regular So yeah,
it took me a little bit to click on. But
ah yeah, pretty funny. You got me. Did you lead
through that?

Speaker 3 (04:22):
When did you realize it was when one of the
obviously security guards and one of the announcers or one
of the keeople that work on the ground and went
and grabbed him and were pretty aggressive with him.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
So I say, the way that I got to stitch.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
Up massively, those corporate packages don't go quite that far.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
No, I don't know for quite that much. That's pretty
good corporate package.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
But he's done that at the Paris Olympics in the
closing ceremony, got onto lords during test match, so he's cereal.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
He bought the jumper and all that stuff.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Yes, and a reasonably small event on tomorrow at mid
day or rather large event, you guys do you guys
get into the Melbourne gup the cup non.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Particularly sometimes in the office there's been a bit of
chicken and champagne and you know, spend five minutes looking
at the TV screen, you do.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
So it is the race that stops the nation they
used to.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
It slows it down, It slows down some sectors for
five minutes.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Yeah, we're too busy nowadays, aren't we. So well, I'll
give you my tips because I know people like to know.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
It's hard.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
It's the hardest race in Australia. The tip because there's
so many runners and they bring all those internationals in there.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
You've got no idea and some first time there's a
horse from the USA this year. Yeah, I'm surprised that's
the first time. Usually they're Irish Irish and Japanese Japanese Irish.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
But yeah, a USA horse and the international raid is
it in a different accent?

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Yes? Sorry.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
They are generally carrying carrying the grandstand too. They give
them like I think one of the horses carrying fifty
nine kilos fifty if they go down the gym and
lift fifty nine kilos and so on around, run three
k's with that. So I'm riding with Jamie Mellam, who's
on the Melbourne Cup favorite and half yours yes, not
up yours.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Your Cup winner, yes.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Trying to become the second female jockey to win the
famous race. Who was the first one, who was the
first female jockey ride.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
Like a girl. Her name is Paine Michelle, she's not
a pain all right? For an extra point least? What
year was that? Do you remember? Twenty fifteen?

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Well done, very good, I was saying fifteen. And for
the bonus point name of the horse.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Prince the Pie? That was Elizabeth Taylor on the Pie.
Yeah you're going to ask my brother's name your favorite movie?
It's not my friend but a national Velvet. I love it.
Also Bukaroo, have a look at buck so buccaroo.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
And half yours not up yours w A volleyball rules.

well done to Volleyball w A. And a big congrats
out to Andy Brayshaw from the Freemantle Dokers married Lizzie
on the weekend. World's best couple and he's the world's
best bloke. And they didn't go. He didn't go back
to Melbourne. Either he's from obviously born in Victoria, but
a very famous West Australian.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Family, very famous West Australian Faye.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Ian Brayshaw, Stix Brayshaw, all the way through great Man.
They had the wedding here in the Swan Valley and
it was like who's who of the footy world. Lucky
Neil came players from every team. Charlie Constable, the reigning
sound of him, was in the bridal party. James brace Shaws,
his uncle, the famous commentator. So it was a monstrous weekend.

(08:06):
So Andy, Lizzie, congratulations. What do you say about getting married?
What's the expression?

Speaker 1 (08:16):
What is it? Best? Best, best of luck to your
