Speaker 1 (00:00):
Christadmin empowered by the iHeart app from ninety six AVM
to whenever You're listening Today This is Lisa and Russell's podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Coming up on the podcast today, Russell is.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
Getting text messages from his gym that are borderline harassment.

Speaker 4 (00:16):
Lisa went to a driving range for the second time
and heard her here I did.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
A list of David Bowie's favorite songs has been revealed
ahead of a new exhibition.

Speaker 4 (00:26):
It's feel Good Friday, so we hear all of your
positive news from throughout the week.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
This is positive. A third season of Big Little Lives
has been.

Speaker 4 (00:33):
Confirmed, and Adrian Barratch previews this weekend's round of AFL
finals and chats about some golfers who have had a
big boozy night. Lisa, I don't know about you, but
I think most of us feel that tech, especially our phones,
monitoring us. They know what, they know what we're up to.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Too much up in my grill, up in your grill.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
Yes, I don't know they're listening. I mean you know,
all of a sudden.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Things, Oh yes, they know what shop you're in. Things appear,
that's right.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
You'll talk about something that you haven't spoken about for ever,
and then you'll go home and you and you're feeding it.
There's an ad for that.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Yeah, it's very very disturbing.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
Coincidental. But also now because I've I've been a member
of a gym for quite some time, maybe haven't always
been frequenting that gym.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
As much as those shirts.

Speaker 4 (01:31):
After discovering yesterday that I'm the heaviest I've been in
over twenty years. But anyway, but now what happens is
you used to you'd get in with a pass cart
or something like that. All right, but now and many
of the gyms are doing it. You have to have
their app.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Oh so you've not gone for so long that it
had changed the way you're getting the door.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
So I signed up for the app, right, and then
I get this. I get this text that says Russell,
make fitness a priority and feel the difference.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Passive aggressive, just say where you've been?

Speaker 4 (02:08):
See you at, said Jim this week, which which I've
done twice. And I'm very tired this morning. Yeah, I'm
very tired this morning. But it's it knows it goes.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
Around.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Yeah, it's like your fit bit, you know when it
tells you to get up and you've been sitting for
a while, get up and move around.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
Yeah, even the cars, even the cars are doing it.
My car, I'll be driving along the freeway and I
will say ding ding ding, Time for a break. No,
I don't.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Think I think I know where I am. Ye gym,
the tunnel. There's not even an emergency, like, so it's
half smart.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
It's half smart. Yeah exactly. But yeah, so so now
my g So, now my gym's onto me. Okay, and
so you know I have dragged myself in only to
step on the scales. And maybe now that was your
first matake. Now I understand why they sent me the message.
Maybe they knew that too. Maybe the app knew that
too before I even knew it.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
It does know a lot.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
Yeah, so you come on back in. Oh my god,
So so this is how you know, I guess there's
an upside. Well, you know, they motivate you, like they
bully you to go back in and do it. But

(03:32):
all this technology, it's it's.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
Just have you got a trainer because because you know,
I finally at this age joined the gym this year.
I've been going for eight months now, but once a
week I see a trainer.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Because she really she keeps you honest.

Speaker 5 (03:49):
It.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
Make sure you go and make sure you work.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
Hard on I used to many many years ago, I
had a trainer, and if you didn't go and you
weren't doing what you were supposed to do, they you
like the app. Like the app, they knew and they
just punish and they punish.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Your sometimes I think ship like I ran over a
dog or something.

Speaker 4 (04:09):
So it wasn't it wasn't worth it wasn't worth skipping
because otherwise they would they would make you pay anyway.
So there you go, you get the app.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Now for the you know what's going to happen.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Now, we're going to have ads all over our feed
for exercise equipment.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Will because we've been talking about it and I.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
Holding my phone right up to the microphone here, we'll see.
We'll monitor it during the morning and see how many
gyms or fitness equipment ads start turning up on the phone.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
You've got a door, you've got a gym.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
Okay, we'll monitor that through the afternoon in case you're
not up to speed. Lisa and I are both taking
on something new. Apparently you're never too old to learn something.
You know, you were walking a little gingerly into the.

Speaker 6 (04:55):
Into the studio this morning.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
Yeah, anything to do with learning something.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Yes, Actually, I can't believe that.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
I've been going to the gym and lifting quite heavy
weights for eight months now, not.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Hurt myself ever, hurt myself yesterday at the.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
Driving roade using muscles. You never know.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Learning to play golf or are you just shaking it
coming back down?

Speaker 4 (05:19):
And no.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
No, we've got to the driving range yesterday and I've
gone there with them with.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
My boyfriend.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
First, it's been announced Susie the producer is just rolling
one how to play golf, And he.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Said, he said, did you warm up? The warm up?

Speaker 3 (05:51):
We're just at the driving rage settled out anyway. Apparently
I should have warmed up because on the very first
ball I.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Hit, I've twined something in my hip and it was
it was.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
I didn't want to say too much yesterday because I'd
never hear the end of it.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
But it was okay.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
And then this morning I've woken up and it really
hurts to walk.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
Yeah, it's not great. No, maybe you might take some
advice from my boyfriend from now on. Maybe he knows
what he's talking about because he knows how to swing
a club by hear.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
He's very very good.

Speaker 4 (06:28):
Yes, and he's determined to make you good as well.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
Yes, yes, well we'll see because if I can't get
through hitting a few balls at the driving range anyway.
On the other side of things, for those playing a
long time, second time at the driving range, it was
a lot strater. It wasn't going off to the left
as much as it was on the weekend.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
It wasn't. It wasn't as much ducking from other patrons.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
We're up on the top level.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
Keeps a bit safer, I think for the people below
unless the club guys over with the ball.

Speaker 4 (07:01):
The bird life is slowly returning to the trees on
the side, deeming that it's safe to come back.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
And the other good news part from I might have
done my hip, but my hand didn't hurt so much.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
Sooner or all the muscles willsue.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
Sings and roundabout.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
Yeah. Well, I mean, yesterday I got my pocket Spanish
because I'm looking to learn, you know, some Spanish, Espaniol Espaniel.
I'm not. I don't think I'm going to be particularly fluent,
but anyway, so I've got the pocket Spanish book and
today I haven't logged in on it yet, but I

(07:38):
have downloaded the duo lingo Duel Lingo jel. I can't
even get the name of the app right, I'm not
going to go with the language, so I've I've done
that because apparently, you know, everyone's doing big movie stars
like Julian Moore, Julianne Moore, you know from the Hunger Game,

(08:00):
Games and Boogie Nights and the Big but she's doing
it for a role.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
I'm trying. I'm learning. I've got my due Lingo and
I'm working really hard.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
Do you have dueling?

Speaker 6 (08:09):
Of course I try that one.

Speaker 7 (08:11):
I say things like I learned how to say your
baby leche, I drink, I drink milk.

Speaker 6 (08:17):
Oh, that's good.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
See this is good. From dual lingo, you get the
very encouraging things like hey, you're on a hot streak,
keep going, keep working tomorrow.

Speaker 7 (08:28):
And then I stopped for a while and I'm like, hey,
you missed the day, but that doesn't matter.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
We'll keep your hot streak going. The third day, they're like, wow,
we haven't seen you in a while, what's going on?

Speaker 4 (08:36):
And then I finally got these emails don't seem to
be working. Wow, this is what I've heard about due
lingo is that aggressive? There's a they're pushy.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
They're like, you've already got your gym on you.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
Well, gym attacking me for being ten over way. And
and then I'm going to have another app, which is
going to be having a going get you have not
done your own work, No TV until you've done your homework,
all right, So anyway, so but I will I'll log
into it today and across the weekend, I'll try.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
I want a sentence by Monday. God you can. You
can ask me how's your hip? Hip? Old lady? In Spanish?

Speaker 4 (09:20):
How's your hip, old lady? I'll do that, old old ladies.
That was send see senor send your love. We'll see
how we go over the weekend. On Monday, we'll.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
See how we go.

Speaker 8 (09:40):
More Lisa More Russell More podcast. Soon let's talk for
with an Adrian Barns.

Speaker 6 (09:54):
Good morning, morning guys. What's going on? Revealing morning?

Speaker 4 (09:59):
I believe Oh I hurt myself?

Speaker 2 (10:02):
Did I pulled a muscle in my hip at the
driving rate?

Speaker 6 (10:05):
At the driving r Yes, golf.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
As the golf continues, expecting an injury with.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
Her golf tutor, can we you're getting some chewing from
the man yes.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Can we stop now?

Speaker 6 (10:21):
Yeah, long drives, Yeah, that sort of thing.

Speaker 9 (10:24):
Boyfriend, You've got a boyfriend. I'm wearing a green shirt
because I'm interviewing Cameron Green. After this we'll talk about
cricket in a moment. But let's let's start with the
footy AFL semi final time tonight. It's Adelaide hosting Hawthorne

(10:44):
at the Adelaide Oval. I feel like the Crows bounce back.
I can't see him going out in straight sets.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
Boy, they don't need to leave the ground in an
armored car if they lose at home twice.

Speaker 9 (10:55):
Not to the dreaded Hawks that have clashed with before
of course. So yeah, I think the Crows get up tomorrow.
It's the Q Clash as they call it, Brisbane and
the Gold Coast more a battle of ideologies, really.

Speaker 6 (11:07):
Isn't it?

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Is it?

Speaker 5 (11:08):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (11:09):
Because it's the Q Clash. It isn't just footy. It's
sounds high bro, it's culture.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
It's a culture war against the NRL. What is that
what you're saying?

Speaker 9 (11:17):
Because so it's real conservative joint brown lasers, meat pies,
four x four x gold gold case, son slashy, white shoes,
white shoes, Gray. You know, protein shakes, spray to Hans
Jimmy Barnes versus.

Speaker 6 (11:35):
They still have BJ.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
Fisher hip to the whole scene.

Speaker 9 (11:40):
I asked my daughter said, who's famous from the Gold
Coast d J Fisher?

Speaker 6 (11:45):
You got never heard of him? Me neither.

Speaker 9 (11:48):
There we go, so the lines at four x gold.
The sons are Vodka Red Bulls. I'm thinking, I'm thinking
that the Lions bounce back.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
Do you think so because of injury problems?

Speaker 6 (11:59):
I have lucky because a lot of people have tipped
the he's not playing.

Speaker 9 (12:02):
But I think one when you win one final you're
quite a bit like the Perth Footy Club this year.
You run your race and go, you know what, We've
done something, We've arrived and it's hard to keep that
hunger over at the Dockers were down there yesterday Neil
Erasmus re signed.

Speaker 6 (12:17):
He's a lovely fella, isn't he? You remember Neil Erasmus, Yeah,
a very good player, wants to be part of history.
He had a chance to go well.

Speaker 9 (12:23):
The Bulldogs wanted him because he killed him and the
West Coast Eagles wanted him. But he's thought, you know
what if I stay here, I could play in the
first ever flag and I know what that's like. And
I also know what it's like to miss your place.

Speaker 4 (12:35):
In history, because you know when you came so close.

Speaker 9 (12:37):
I know it's twenty three or twenty four to twenty
fifth man whatever. If you're in that twenty two, what
is it now? Twenty four plus three? It's twenty three.
If you're in that twenty three, you never get forgotten.
Particularly in free a whole joint would anytime you went
on the cappuccino strip, you'd be just like a rock star.
So I think he's doing the right thing. I would
do that least I would stay to be part of history.

(12:59):
Five's missed it, Walters has missed it. Aish retired yesterday
as well. Yeah, Pavlich obviously got his.

Speaker 4 (13:06):
Chance so close.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
After the take that.

Speaker 9 (13:12):
And there's a rumor going around that locking Neil wants
to come home. Oh really yeah, because he's from Perth.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
Yeah yeah, and you have him back, wouldn't it.

Speaker 9 (13:22):
But we asked Joe Bridy, the GM of Football, about that,
and he was adamant, very adamant that he's not coming
to Freeman.

Speaker 4 (13:28):
Or so West Coast still have him. They're cashed up.

Speaker 9 (13:33):
It was a bit too much conviction with Joe Bridy.
I don't know, it just looks sounded.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
A bit, you know, like, you know, protest too much.

Speaker 6 (13:40):
Thank you Shakespeare, Shakespeare.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
Yes, yes, I have a.

Speaker 9 (13:45):
Feeling that Joe was Joey Shakespeare. So anyway, we'll see
what happens with Locky Locky Neil. Now the Waffles on
of course, Big Final this weekend on Sunday, where the
forecast please are least it's.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
Going to rain.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
So what we're looking at tomorrow? Tomorrow we're looking at
twenty three four to fifteen mills, a very high chance
of showers.

Speaker 6 (14:13):
You didn't go for the rain, parrot, did you?

Speaker 2 (14:14):
I didn't know.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
I didn't And I don't have it open because I
have it open on our text line so that I
can pass on to your message from Kelly. Because that
people have been asking who's Bara going to go for
that thing?

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Is Perth are out?

Speaker 3 (14:26):
And Kelly said, Bara better be going for the Royals
or I'm not going for Perth anymore. Yes, she's a
Perth fan, but she wants but her brother works in
the coaching team at the Royals.

Speaker 6 (14:35):
So it's true, isn't it? Because I live in the
Western suburbs.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
I was thinking you might be a contrarian, given that
Lisa goes for.

Speaker 9 (14:43):
But because of Lisa, I would be going for East
Purpose because I know you like it's class warfare again too,
isn't polo shirts, visits, high visits all that?

Speaker 6 (14:53):
It's everywhere.

Speaker 4 (14:54):
Lisa is such a high vis.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
It's part of the perp.

Speaker 6 (15:00):
Even the least type his personal What is.

Speaker 4 (15:06):
Have you been to the airport?

Speaker 1 (15:07):
Ah?

Speaker 2 (15:08):
Yes, yeah, five fight, Yeah you can see that.

Speaker 6 (15:10):
Obviously the New Boys not a hot five.

Speaker 4 (15:12):
No, he's a Clemont man. No, I don't know that
he is from Clemont. He's more of that than hYP Anyway, Sorry,
we diground.

Speaker 6 (15:24):
Very good looking. So I say that now you can swing.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
It swinger class in a minute.

Speaker 9 (15:31):
Yeah, you're going to cop it in a minute. All
those double entendres or whatever that word is.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Look grandos.

Speaker 9 (15:42):
Sports, what about I was going to function and one
of the Eagles guys asked for some horsevers. The stage
is set for the biggest a fl W derby yet
West Coast of Flying. There three and one freemantle have
been altered in the last three games, particularly last two.

(16:03):
So if the Dockers lose. Basically they could not. They
may not make finals, so it's a massive game. The
Eagles have never beaten the Dockers in the derby. This
is afl W seven straight wins since twenty twenty for
Freeo Daisy Pears's crew eyeing history, bragging rights, you know.
And they're the younger sisters too, the Dockers, so they're

(16:26):
sick of losing to them. So the pressures on Freeo
because losing to your older sister must really.

Speaker 6 (16:31):
Hurt, does it?

Speaker 2 (16:32):
I do? And she's older and yes, and that is
bet up. I'm seeing her today.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
Actually, yeah, well you know we shared a bedroom back
in the day and I had to spend the entire
seventies sleeping below a picture of Garth from Skyhooks, and
I couldn't put my own pictures up because she got
dims because she was.

Speaker 6 (16:50):
Older, not Leaf Garrett.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
That might have been some Leop Garrett as well as
basity Roller. She wasn't a basicity.

Speaker 9 (17:01):
What is amazing is that footy season's not over and
yesterday was the launch of cricket season, so we're getting
into that.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
Because you remember there used to be that nothing time
and then cricket was still a month away, and October
was like, oh, apart from every first that was it.

Speaker 6 (17:18):
Everyone tries to we there, Yeah, we're stop and w
A summer.

Speaker 9 (17:22):
Of cricket is absolutely enormous. We'll have to get on
board because massive for w A cricket. The Ashes return
in November. Record ticket sales for the West Test at
opts biggest Test match ever in Perth, or Ever, India's
coming to town, a couple of men's and women's internationals
and then they're going to launch the redeveloped Whacker just
down the road. You're be able to use.

Speaker 4 (17:45):
You could you could go down the go down the
slide between overs.

Speaker 6 (17:48):
I could see you on the slide.

Speaker 4 (17:49):
Least I could not down the tube.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
The only where worse to be than the pool at
the Whacker where people are consuming multi huge amount.

Speaker 9 (17:59):
To be a I think there's a flok that you
know who really likes cricket too.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
Did you know that you're not going.

Speaker 9 (18:05):
There he's talking about I've realized two he is now
and he loves his sports.

Speaker 4 (18:12):
Is a he took me.

Speaker 6 (18:14):
That I know the guy, great guy twelve thousand.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Arrows it down, A guy that loves sports.

Speaker 9 (18:23):
Twelve thousand tourists are expected for the summer of cricket basball,
Bravados coming over. So they said, that's how the poems
play the game. The serious pressure on our beer supplies
because they just go the poems they're incredible and they
sit in the sun and they.

Speaker 6 (18:38):
Just drink and something.

Speaker 4 (18:40):
That'd be great if the team isn't real, if the
team could do that, that'll be handy.

Speaker 9 (18:46):
I don't know, they're not they're no mugs. So India
is in the mix too, so they bring all the color.
There was a big launch yesterday at Phrases and Rita
Safioti so she's the Deputy Premiere obviously Terresa and the
Sports Minister, and she told this brilliant story about how
she when she was a child, she used to work
on an orchard in rolling Stone for her dad. Dad
immigrated here from Colubria after the ward World War two,

(19:09):
and she'd always go inside for the last session of
the cricket watching on.

Speaker 6 (19:13):
TV the Sheffield Shield. She watched the Sheffield Shield.

Speaker 9 (19:15):
All right, and her favorite player was Graham Wood and
she controlled this great story when she met him, how
she sort of blushed and stuff and had a bit
of a crush on him when.

Speaker 6 (19:25):
She was growing up.

Speaker 9 (19:26):
But then she said she had you remember plaster scene. Yeah,
she bought some plaster scene, or she had bought some
for her birthday, and she built a Whacker out of
plaster scene. All right, and then the story she built
graham Wood and did she build a pool and a
little water slide with it?

Speaker 6 (19:47):
Well, here's a bit of all. Here's her talking about.
Just just have a listen.

Speaker 10 (19:51):
The worst example of my obsession was I built a
plast scene version.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
Of the Whacker.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
Oh do you still have that?

Speaker 10 (20:00):
Ants got to it? I don't know how, but so
I built a plaster zine version of the Whacker. And
when there was an upgrade, when they put the lights in,
I went out got some more plastic sea.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
Upgraded it.

Speaker 10 (20:11):
So then I'm minister, and there's an approach to built,
you know, to redevelop the Whacker. I'm thinking, man, this
is like real, but not with plaster.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
SETI couldn't get enough of the stuff.

Speaker 9 (20:23):
That is an amazing thing that you're growing up as
the young hil Yeah, you build the Whacker out of
place and then one day you are building that.

Speaker 6 (20:32):
Was Ryan Daniels interview.

Speaker 9 (20:33):
Yeah, yeah, and she's such a so good rader, such
a great lady.

Speaker 6 (20:37):
Anyway, great story.

Speaker 9 (20:38):
So just quickly Tyrrell hat and I was going to
tell you about this because I knew you love this.

Speaker 6 (20:42):
This.

Speaker 9 (20:42):
There was an amazing press conference, another press conference where
he's a famous golfer, number twenty five in the world
when a year it's best and he tells the story.
I don't know how he got into it, but he
told about the worst hangover story he ever had. It
this insane Bendy had after he got selected to play
golf for Europe in the Rider Cup, which is incredibly prestigious,

(21:03):
all right, and he had the biggest night of all
Timea's so big they reckon that John.

Speaker 6 (21:07):
Day was turning him to settle down, mate, what are
you doing?

Speaker 9 (21:12):
He's an Englishman as well, and we could take calls
on great hangovers here. I can tell you what because
he I don't know if the Europeans win, what he's

And then I've woken myself up throwing up in that position.
I've then fallen back asleep in that position. And then
as I've woken up, I've got like sick all down

(21:49):
my arms. We've got both sides all down my shirt.
I get off the bed like walk around to the bathroom.

Speaker 5 (21:55):

was he had six glasses of wine, one double gin
and tonic, a heap of whiskey, sours, a margarita, a
strawberry vodka thing.

of course, we do not.

Speaker 3 (22:39):

Roomors have been rampant that a new installment of the

enjoyed a lavish life of privilege as members of one
of South Carolina's most powerful legal dynasties. Back in twenty

wife Maggie and their son Paul.

He received two life sentences for his crimes. It is
a case people can't seem to get enough of.

There is a lot of bizarre twists, not least being
when Alex Murdoch hired someone to shoot him in a
bizarre suicide attempt. This series, called Murdock Death in the Family,

to open an exhibition this month containing more than ninety
thousand artifacts.

That belong to the Late Legend. Ninety thousand. So what
were his favorite songs?

Speaker 3 (25:06):
Well, he loved Miles Davis' Someday My Prince Will Come,
Little Richard's True Fine Mama, and the Beatles Across the Universe.
That would explain why David once did his own cover.

Speaker 4 (25:17):
Of it, keeping that psychedelic fuel.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
How much do we miss Davis?

Speaker 4 (25:22):
A lot?

Speaker 3 (25:23):
I'm still trying to get my head around ninety thousand artifacts.

Speaker 4 (25:26):
Yeah, that's even more than Elton collected.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
How many rooms are that going to take up?

Speaker 4 (25:32):
Obviously David didn't have the garage sale that Elba had.

Speaker 2 (25:35):
Definitely, no, I didn't.

Speaker 4 (25:38):
Yeah, all right, so there we go. More one of

So that is I feel good for her, good for me.
We can still have a chin wag at the front
over the bins. That's when we're bringing in the bins,
because I was worried she wouldn't be able to talk
and that would be horrendous.

Speaker 4 (26:46):
Not half as worried as she was.

Speaker 3 (26:48):
No, that's what she said, and I'm so glad I
could understand her when she said it.
