The dog Wor's beat the Bulldogs by fifteen points at
Marvel Stadium on Sunday, one hundred and twelve to ninety seven,
securing a spot in the finals. Haten, congratulations, thank you
very much.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Very happy.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Yeah, how do you feel?
Speaker 2 (00:36):
And now you know who you're playing as well Saturday
week the Suns. Did you all get together last night
and watch that game?
Speaker 1 (00:41):
No, we didn't. Everyone has sort of watched it in
their own time.
Speaker 5 (00:44):
But I think sort of after the game, we had
a rough idea that we'd be playing the Suns, you know,
we thought they'd probably get the job done, and I
watched the first quarter and I was pretty adamant that
that's who we'll be playing. So now it's an exciting
time for the club and we're looking forward to the challenge.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
You'd be with Noah Anderson too.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
We knew their best player who may win the Brownlow medals,
so it could be you could go toe to toe
with one of your mates in the game.
Speaker 5 (01:06):
Yeah, no, I'm good mates. We know you played quite
well last night. So no, it's always good playing against
the best players in the camp. And they've got a
solid midfield and we do as well, so I think
that's going to be a great battle.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
So Sunday it felt like an elimination final because in
a roundabout kind of way it was. Did it feel
like that for you guys? Did you just try to
focus on.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
Yeah, it did definitely feel that way.
Speaker 5 (01:30):
But I think what was really great and how Jayl
set the week up is it although there was a
lot of external pressure and it was a final life game,
he sort of just asked for a normal performance and
we knew what that required, and he didn't.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
We didn't need to change anything.
Speaker 5 (01:44):
We didn't need to try harder or you know, try
bite too much off. We just wanted to put in
a docker's normal performance. We knew that got it done.
We sort of looked at our season and we'd knocked
off more Top nine teams than they had by large stretch,
so we knew that if we played it's sort of
a good brand of footy.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
They struggled against that.
Speaker 5 (02:03):
So we felt like we did that, particularly in the
first half, and then got the game our way.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Yeah, that second quarter, mate, you're saying you're playing it down,
But that second quarter, I reckon, that's the best quarter
you've played all year. Seven goals, seven straight goals least,
they just blitzed them.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
What was that like? You must been pinching yourself.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
It was pretty cool.
Speaker 5 (02:22):
You sort of in those moments, you sort of feel
like your team's in a bit of a flow state
where you can't do much, true, isn't it. Yeah, yeah, exactly,
And we certainly felt that way. And I mean in
AFL's momentum swings and when you've got momentum, you really
want to cash in and something that we haven't always
done really well, but in that second quarter, we had
some momentum. We really cashed in, And I think the
(02:43):
most pleasing thing was that it wasn't like, you know,
we weren't trying to do too much. We just did
executed the game plan and everyone did their job in
that moment. And that's all the big games requires that
just do your job.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
In the moment.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
I've heard whispers that if Murphy Reid doesn't win the
Rising Star after that performance of the weekend, we're taking
it to.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
The streets, seceding from the columnwealth get stuffed, we leave it.
Speaker 5 (03:06):
He's he finished a year off while and I think
he might have had it wrapped up before that last game.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
But he's been outstanding this play.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
He's been confidency for a young buke. I mean, you're
a confident man, but he is incredible.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (03:18):
No, it's great to say for a first year player
to come in play every game and play it to
the standard that he has, you know, to credit to him,
and we're super proud of him.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
What about the Prancing Pony? It? Does he actually like that?
He can't like that nickname? Could he?
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Patrick Voss the other day.
Speaker 5 (03:36):
Once he once he starts kicking a few gals and
puts the chest out just he can't help that.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
Does it give you a lift as a teammate, We're
on air?
Speaker 5 (03:43):
Definitely to get it Vos definitely, particularly when he's sort
of showing his strength, that really gets us going. And
he's so hard for a defender to stop. So No,
when he's up and about usually the team's going well.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Now tonight is the All Australian Lease as well, and
there's four Dockers up for All Australian spot.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
It's which is an incredibly prestigious Blazer to win.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
Jordan Clark, Luke Jackson, Caleb Sarong and Andy Brayshaw. Now
I've heard that Jordan Clark might actually be in Melbourne,
so he must be in the team.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
That wouldn't surprise you, wouldn't not at all.
Speaker 5 (04:16):
I think all of them are deserving of a Blazer,
and I'm not sure if they all will get it
because it's pretty hard to squeeze from forty four. But
I mean they've all had great seasons and whoever gets
a not is well deserving. And I mean Clarky was
in the squad last year and he's put together another
great season, and so it was you.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Know, Caleb, Andy and Luke.
Speaker 5 (04:36):
So they've all done tremendously well this year and been
a big reason for our success.
Speaker 4 (04:41):
Do you feel good after because this was your first
full game back after bit of time out.
Speaker 5 (04:48):
Yeah, I feel pretty good. I'm happy that we've got
the week off because yeah, I'm a little.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
Bit thinking about you.
Speaker 5 (04:55):
Yeah, I'm happy, yeah that I've got a bit of
extra time to recover, but no pulled up really well.
I was on sort of matage minutes as was planned,
and yeah, I felt like I was able to deliver
when I was on the field, which is good.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
It's nice that the Dockers came out and supported Mitch
Brown as well, becoming the first player out of the locker,
I suppose you'd say, And he's posted this morning that
he's overwhelmed by the love and support that he's received.
You know, it's a game for everyone, isn't it.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
It is.
Speaker 5 (05:23):
No, it's great to say, and it's been awesome to
see the response from the whole AFL community. We're an
inclusive sport and it's great to say that Minch has
been well supported.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
And particularly in the thirteen years since he played, I
think it's a very very different environment.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
Oh definitely. Yeah, even this year, we've seen the landscape
change a.
Speaker 5 (05:40):
Lot and it's coming a great time and hopefully we
can continue to jump on board and support.
Speaker 4 (05:44):
So what will you do this weekend? Just keep yourself
in cotton wool, don't well.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
The brat on a crack and the.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
Brake please take it.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
Don't need anything weird from anywhere.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
Weird. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (05:59):
I've got my NF our fantasy draft this week. It's
actually coming a perfect time. It's a big way. If
we had a final, i'd be sort of torn. NFL
Fantasy or finals, and.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
We should expect at least you know what that is
the fantasy draft. They all the boys all sit around
and they picked name.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
It's like super serious as well.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
Yeah, the draft's really important stuff. The draft a few
years done.
Speaker 5 (06:20):
So all right, big weekend, so I'll be I've got
a lot of study to do this afternoons, prepared.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
On the NFL very seriously.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
And that would be my off season hobby.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
Mate, you made so much difference on the weekend. Congratulations
you were super and seriously only played sixty five percent
of the game, but you were unbelievable. So I can't
wait to see what happens Saturday night.
