The Sure Report on ninety six airverm. Yeah, so you

morning girl.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
Ace Freely, the founding guitarist of Kiss, has passed away
at the age of seventy four. His passing comes shortly
after the news that he had been put on life
support following a fall at his studio just last month.
His family said in a statement, we are completely devastated
and heartbroken. In his last moments, we were fortunate enough

(00:32):
to have been able to surround him with loving, caring,
peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth.
We cherish all of his finest memories, his laughter, and
celebrate his strength and kindness that he bestowed upon others.
Reflecting on all his incredible life achievements, Ace's memory will
continue to live on forever. So it was late September

(00:53):
that he was confirmed to have suffered a minor fall,
they said at the time, in his studio, which was
altered in a trip to the whole hospital. Turns out
that there had been a bleed on the brain, and
then he was put on life support, which the family
did decide to.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
It's not like it was a long termness or anything
like that. It's just something so sudden and it seemed,
you know, almost inconsequential at the time, but.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
As it sometimes does, and a fall so often is
just you know that that's it all goes down from
there once you're a certain age. Paul Stanley and Jean
Simmons have written a joint statement shared with The Hollywood Reporter.
They say, I'm devastated by the passing of Ace Freely.
He was an essential and irreplaceable rock soldier during some
of the most formative foundational chapters of the band and

(01:38):
its history. He is and or will always be a
part of Kiss's legacy. Our thoughts are with Jeanette Monique
and all those who loved him, including our fans around
the world, very much.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
So, because I know that they had their falling out,
and there was a lot, there was a rupted but
he was the guitar sound of that band.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
That's right. He was Ace Freely, And he got his
first guitar at just thirteen, and he was.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
A friend of mine, got an electric guitar with a
little lamp. I had never played an electric guitar before,
and when I plugged it into a little lamp and
turned up the volume I head of Chord.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
It was love, love at first guitar and the other
thing about Ace. And you know, I'm sure Jean's got
to give him credit for this, Jean being the businessman
that he is, Ace was the one who designed maybe
the most iconic band logo of all time.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
I was just sitting in my bedroom and I drew
it up with a the rest.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Is history for the rest is history. And also Ace
had Ace Reely had very definite thoughts on death as well.
He was He was very philosophical about it.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
You can't have light without dark, you can't have good
without evil, So heaven and.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Hell makes sense.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
You know, I don't think we ever die. I think
our spirits go on.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
He certainly, he certainly lived alt.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
And he had that bronx accent. Did he not?

Speaker 2 (02:58):
