We've been banging on and on about it's you know,
it's never too old.

You're never too old to pick up.

You can teach an old dog new tricks.

And we're trying to prove that. Maybe you can prove that.
We're trying to Yeah.

We were rather hoping it might have inspired you to
do that thing that you know you've been wanting to do.

Yeah, the power of learning something new, you lot now listen,
we're taking this seriously. We're taking this.

I'm taking my golf seriously.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
I'm taking my Spanish lessons, learning a new language.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
And you know, we ask you what you're learning that's new,
and we get this. I recently had vowel surgery, so
I'm learning to trust farts again. Please, what we're looking for,
jach Nicolson said in as good as it gets.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Still learning how to keep my wife happy? Okay, good,
join the club. That's hardly, that's hardly, you know different.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
What we were hoping for is are you learning maybe
a musical instrument or a craft, or another language that's
not Spanish, or you could be learning Spanish too.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Maybe you're getting your black belt in you know, jiu.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
Jitsu or or kung fu kung fu. Maybe you're learning
to cook. Maybe you're a bloke who is finally learning
to cook.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Maybe you're trying to master the crock and.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Bush Jackie and Monaoo, Hello morning Jackie.

Hi, how are you going now?

the flute.

Because my mom plays the piano and I would like
to do a CD with her to leave for the grandchildren.

So so you understand music, Yeah, yeah, I do.

Yeah so. But the flute has just it's just got
such a magical, beautiful feeling when you hear it, and
when you combined with the piano, it's just Yeah.

Who was that blonde woman who used to drape herself
over the piano playing the flute?

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Was I remember be her?

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Jackie? Cool?

How much catching up if you got to do to
be able to play in time with you know? The
piano still got a way to go?

Speaker 4 (03:39):
Yeah, I've still got a here, quite.

A bit to go. Don't give up, Jackie, don't ever
going to never give up. We won't give up if
you don't give up. But we want to check in
on you later down the track. And I want that flute.
I want that flute by the phone so that you
can give us a two right.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
Okay, you guys are amazing. You I get up really
early in the morning because I'm a support worker and
you just keep me going from when.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
I'm thank you. We think we're amazing too, just for
getting up.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
You know who else is very fluent in the flute
is Lizzo's Yeah, she's Google Google Lizzo popular At the moment,
I think I'm thinking of Jane Rush. Am I thinking
of Jane rush You are, yes, perfect, Google her before

Okay, there's a couple of schoolway, there's a couple of
flute players.

to learn. Absolutely no, we're finding out mind you.

It sounds like Jackie's like you said, she knows her
way around, but still music.

But know something new, learning an instrument. Not easy to
do both learning something later in life. One, No, you're
learning golf. I'm learning Spanish.

were both in my mid fifties, have decided we might
like to build our own house from scratch. So I
now have an owner, build a license, and no far

Wow, that's a big job to take on to learn
later in life. On the other end of the scale, Cameron.
He's twenty and he has recently learned the art of
locke smithing. Oh well, yes, he's also learning to program
and code computers, or, as he says it in brackets,
ethical hacking.

What are you doing?

Speaker 5 (05:58):
Hello, Well, I'm doing my first degree. I'm almost fisty,
so it's been a whirldwind.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
Yes, well what are you doing?

Speaker 5 (06:08):
Okay, So I'm doing teaching. I have a bit of
experience behind me in EA, so you're never too late
to study. So yeah, so I'm doing my first degree
and I've also done tap dancing last year, so my
next thing, I know, So I keep on going and

(06:29):
then yeah, after my degree, I plan on finding how
I can play a guitar because I always wanted to
learn houses.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
I it's such a good thing because we need more
teachers and God knows we need more tap dancers and tap.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
Dancing teachers the guitar as well.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Good for you.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
I agree.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
I don't think it would be possible to tap dance
without a smile on your face exactly.

It just it just looks such a hot.

process of learning Morse code and getting my amateur radio.

Now that's a niche craft. Now is that code?

Certainly is still has a place in this world.

that's for sure. You never know.

When is it something something that I've been interested in
since I was a kid. I ended up ended up
joining Air Force and becoming a radio tech. And I
haven't been in the military for a long time, but
I finally getting back into it again.
