that they've seen James Blood in Switch. Listen across the
David Trumpet bridge right, Well, Mayor maybe he's here as
a bit of a spy and a and a lookout.
Just for Ed to say it could be whether it's
worth coming to check out that mural.

It's meant to be the hottest day in October. It
has decreased a little bit by a couple of degrees.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
It has it looks like it probably won't be the
hottest day of the year, which would be I think
a release everyone. But it's still forecasts to be thirty
seven degrees today, so a very hot day. So i'd
say that people you know, if you know they have
the air con on at home or at work or
wherever you are. Our libraries or air conditioned, shopping centers
of the air condition, the movie theaters air condition We
also have our pools open, and in particular Oryan Lagoon
(01:37):
is free for families to go along there. And I
know we've had a few people concerned about this nature
center making sure our animals are all good. Please let
people know that our animals are being well looked after.
The anything that the its fruits, getting fruit ice blocks
and some of the areas we've got misted areas as well,
and in particular the builbies are in air conditioning, so
(01:59):
they're being well looked after. But look, if you've got
neighbors who are elderly who don't like to put the
air conditioning on, maybe you want to check on them
young ones as well. It's just you know, it's going
to be a hot one today.

Yeah, absolutely, all right, Mayor.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
It is a wonderful time of year in southeast Queensland
and a crowd favorite festival is returning this week.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Yes, you cannot go anywhere and it's such without seeing
the beautiful blankets of purple on the ground and the
beautiful purple flowers of our jack arandas so this weekend
we have the iconic Goodna Jacaranda Festival kicks off on
Friday night. You want to pop over and it's all
on Saturday as well, fireworks each night. It's a really
great festival. It's a really great local festival. And so
(02:39):
those of people don't know, Goodner is really well known
for its stunning purple ballooms and most of the trees
were actually planted during the Great Depression by working gigs.
The government had them do this to earn money. And
so we've got a really love the heritage there of
why there are so many Jacarina trees around. Goodness, So
we'll go. I encourage you to go. Council sponsor the
(02:59):
Jackear Festival and it's a really great weekend.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
Now we have a list of question from Bruce Shimming,
who is responsible for operating the variable speed signs on
the Ipswitch motorway.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Yeah, good question. The variable speed signs on the Ipswich
Motorway are the responsibility of the Department of Transporter Main
Roads which is part of the state government, and the
reason why the variable speed signs there. They aim to
improve safety, to reduce the stop start travel you know,
which do frustrate motorists, and to avoid accidents. So they
have been found to be a particular effifty way of
(03:31):
slowing motorists when it comes to hazards. I know it
is a bit frustrating when the speed signs change all
the time, but safety is the number one concern for TMR.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
And what's on this weekend may yeah that.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
What's on this weekend, but obviously the good New Zacharanda
Festival is on this weekend. There are still some tickets
available for the Sustainable if Such Practical workshops for natural
cleaning at the if Stitch Nature Center. If you want
to learn how to make eco friendly cleaning products including
laundry powder, cleaning sprays and finature polish come along. The
Nickolship Precinct is having a Halloween Carnival of Screams and
(04:04):
also the showgrounds are also having a Halloween event as well,
and the Classic of Musclecar co of It's having their
annual swap meet at Western Football Club as well. So
you know a lot of things happening this weekend as well. Sorry,
probably one of the big events. Davaldi, Brisbane Lions and
our Indian communities have come together, so this weekend they're
(04:24):
having a massive Duali festival with the Brisbane Lines as
part of the women's game and the men's game on
the weekend. So it should be absolutely huge and there's fireworks,
food and lots of dancing.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Oh they'll be unreal, all right, man, Look, hey, weigh
in on this though the bomb the mirror. Have you
seen the new website? I reckon that's the reason why
we've dropped a couple of degrees because it changed over night.

Now everyone's complaining about it.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
It is very difficult to read and all the info
that we had obviously ipswich are now surround areas we
could see very easily and it's not there anymore there,
