Speaker 1 (00:00):
I got Matt Hart from the lot on the line. Matt,
how are you mane?
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Good morning? Have you Friday?
Speaker 1 (00:04):
Yeah, Look, they're still in search for this person that's
one one hundred million dollars in the powerball last week.
Why can't they find them? Well?
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Which is the thing? Yes, so it's been a week
and it was one hundred million dollars. It's the third
biggest lottery prize in Australian history. But the ticket was unregistered,
so it wasn't registered a lot members club and that
means we don't have any clues to the identity of
the ticket holder. This is a great reminder to register
your tickets. It could be worth a hundred million dollars. Yeah,
(00:33):
And I mean the great thing is if if we hadn't,
if the ticket had been registered, we would have reshapped
them last Thursday night when we need the result. And
the other good thing about registering is that if you
happen to lose the ticket, because we know it was
your ticket, we could actually still unite you with the prize.
So there's a bit of protection there, right.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
So do you know where the ticket was bought?
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Yes, we know it was purchased at Bond Dijunction News
Agency in the Junction and Sydney, and it could be anyone.
Maybe it was someone visiting, maybe it was someone that
lives there. We don't know. And but the really interesting
thing is that so it's been a week, but this
time next week we'd actually be able to pay the
prize into the bank account, but they have to come
(01:16):
forward first. So we are fast approaching the payment date,
which is next Friday and which plunk one hundred million
in someone's bank accounts. But they just need to come
forward and present the wedding ticket.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
In the meantime, can you tell exactly when the ticket
was bought? Is there a time on it that the
ticket was actually purchased? So can you go to video
footage of who purchased at exactly that time?
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Yes, So we are collecting lots of evidence, so there
is things around the ticket and we actually can use
that because we do have a lost and damaged ticket
claim process, so we do have information around the time
was purchased, the type of ticket it was, how it
was paid for, and that type of thing we have
so that when people come forward and say, oh, actually
(02:04):
I think it's mine, they have to sort of just
you know, verify that because they're the details that only
the winning ticket holler Wood.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
And the credit card details that would be on there
as well, wouldn't it, Yes, exactly.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
So if it was paid for by that you know,
all of those types of things are things we are
collecting to try and unite the winner with their prize.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
So in some respects you do know, is that would
that be right?
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Not at this stage, not at this stage, but we
are working on it.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Well you just be sitting there broke as well, not
knowing you won one hundred million dollars. Well that's well,
the thing is.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Yeah, I mean I always think too, like we have
that instances. Even just last week there was a guy
that was actually in wan Faggy and Victoria and his
wife give to him a Christmas card with a ticket
in it, and that ticket won two point one million
dollars in January. But the only bother to check that
ticket last week. So yeah, you sort of wonder too.
(03:07):
I mean, hopefully during the last six months we were like,
oh gosh, it would have been nice to I don't know. Yeah,
it's not my home brand milk.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
Oh well, look thank you. Hopefully they will come forward.
How long have they got well?
Speaker 2 (03:21):
In New South Wales they have six years. It's actually
seven years in Queensland. Look there is time, the clock
is ticking. But look if you were in Sydney, if
you know people in Sydney, just get them to check
their ticket.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Okay, Matt Heart from the lot, thank you, thank you.
