Speaker 1 (00:00):
Wally Lewis joins the Sala King. Hello, mate, we're looking
forward to Sunday. We can't wait. Wally. We're just talking
about Reys Walsh and we were calling him the court jester,
trying to a laugh a little bit more like you're
the King.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Well, I know that he's a good looking young man
that's got plenty of attention and that's something that old
ever have. I can guarantee that.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
Come on decade.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Yeah, I love watching him play. That's it is wonderful
to watch. And then his social media is too, so
he's the whole package, I guess. But anyway, back to
the game, mate, I mean, what's your feeling it's going
to be amazing. Yeah, it certainly is. I mean, not
too many NRL fans probably expected the Broncos to make
it into the Grand Final. There was a little bit

(00:48):
of a drama sort of taking place, and I guess
you couldn't blame them for thinking that the Panthers would
be the ones that have been lining up for another premiership.
But that certainly has to be washed away now on
the Broncos, the form that they displayed to get into
the Grand Final. Looking over the Panthers and the Raiders,

(01:10):
the top team defending premiers and also the guys that
were on top of the table. That that is something
quite extraordinary, And I guess I can see why so
many people think that Brisbane they're going to be successful
in this game.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Well, it is extraordinary when they beat the Panthers because
in round four that was team fifteen and sixteen. Yeah,
but there we are, as you say, you never know how, Yeah,
that's right. Mid season that's when you sort of start
looking at that. But Wally, now I know from fact
that well that you are a fan of the Melbourne Storm.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
I'm a chronic Melbourne Storm supporter. I have been for years.
Love watching them play. I was in Melbourne for a
short part of my life lifetime medically wise, and got
to be able to go around to a lot of
the Melbourne Storm training sessions and watch the way that
they performed on the field, and I thought it was

(02:12):
absolutely fantastic. And I remember when they won that premiership
in the second year of their existence, that was something
quite extraordinary. Not too many teams would have ever been
able to do that. And I've admired of them for
a long time. So how does that make it for
you this weekend then.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Well that's right.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Well everyone seems to think that you've got to back them,
but I'm going to go for the Broncos in this game.
I really do think that they're a great chance. They've
got a whole pile of talented young men probably that
don't boast too much finals experience, but they're keen. Their

(02:54):
training sessions have been fun to watch every time they
get an opportunity to do so. They come out and
say they want to win for the people of Brisbane
and their coach. And when you have a look at
some of the guys that they've got on board, you
can understand exactly why there is so much spirit in
the team and affords that they have. With Pain Hesse

(03:18):
and Pat Carrigan, they're the guys that sort of inspire
the performances from the young men that have never been
there before.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Yeah, well that's you know. I think paint House is
the key. If he fires this weekend, they've got a
battering ram that'll take out three defenders And happened against
Penrith the next play they scored, didn't they will?

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Yeah, yeah, I think that's been the past that the
part that can't be ignored pain Hosse's ability to be
able to create doubt in the mind of the defender.
Every time he basically cats the ball forward, he'll have
it in one hand ready to offload. And there's some
pretty handy guys that will be around to offer the

(04:00):
opportunity to pass them the ball. And I know that
when Ezra Man gets on the field, whenever that is,
he's going to be providing wonderful support play. And it's
quite exciting to have been watching these guys in their
training sessions. They're excited, but they're not sort of in

(04:22):
a mood where they're going to panic when they get
out there, and I think that's sometimes the biggest hurdle
for a lot of the players. And if they haven't
had that final experience, they haven't experienced getting out there
and trying to settle down, it couldn't be disastrous. But
they seem to be handling it very easily.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
All Right, we'll get out to leave it there, Wally
Lewis the King. Thank you so much for joining us.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
My pleasure.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
