Counselor Nick Marshall his name is was in the surf
money and he found something and then he was able
to return it to the person that lost this thing.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
Have listened to this story, hedy folks.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
Counselor Nick here just with a really quick update on
that watch or the Apple watch that we found in
the surf. So we were able to track down the
owner and I was actually able to meet up with
him in Brisbane yesterday.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
So to give you a little bit of a history, my.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
Daughter and I found a watch in the surf and
Nobby's on the weekend and through I guess social media
people who knew people, we were able to track the
owner down and yesterday were actually able to give him
back the watch. The irony was that he'd lost the
watch a month ago in the surf at actually Burley
bodysurfing with his family. He was down here on holidays
(00:48):
and for a month that watch has obviously been floating
around in the shallows, getting washed in, washed out, and
it made its way basically from Burley to in between
the Flags and Nobby. So but awesome news. We're able
to find the person return it to them. Yesterday in
Brisbane and so that was a bit of success for
the power of social media. So thanks to all those
that helped track people down and identified them, gave me
(01:11):
tips and watch has been returned.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Oh that's fantastic.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
How good to that? I mean, what are the chances
in their.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Well, there's so expensive Apple Watch.
Speaker 5 (01:20):
Well and obviously waterproof because it's managed to be able
to work.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
Still, what do you pay for an Apple Watch?
Speaker 2 (01:27):
I mean you can play up to twelve hundred bucks,
you can get you can get cheaper versions around three
four hundred dollars, but it's expensive.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
That's fantastic.
Speaker 5 (01:36):
I love how people jump on board things like that
and just assist.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
Right and awesome story.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
Well, I'm wondering why you know, the find my Watch
or find my Apple couldn't couldn't pick.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
It up unless unless it wasn't activated. We have to
activate that.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
You've always got to activate it.
Speaker 4 (01:54):
Marning, I know maybe they didn't have it on.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
No good on your Nick counselor Nick Marshall.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
O im Lorraine is on the line the rain, what
have you lost and what have you found?
Speaker 6 (02:04):
But well, first off, a couple of years ago in
the surf I did find a pair of dentures and
have never been able to track down the owner right dentures.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Anyone missing their team, feel free to give us a.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
Call address what you mean, Yeah, I know.
Speaker 6 (02:24):
But I did lose my purse a while back. I
had no idea where I left it, and then I
got a call from Costco and I thought, well, I
wasn't at Costco, and they said that I'd left it
at Cole's at Springfield and the lady had picked it
up and had a look in and she was also
a Costco member, so she ran Costco and asked them
(02:47):
to give me a call. So it was really kind
of her, and I did get my purse back.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
It's fantastic because she could have got some bargains on
your credit card.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
But that's the thing. When you lose something like that,
you cancel it.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
It's a nightmare. Yeah, that would great.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
That again seeing people just doing the.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Right well I did. I did that on Hamilton Island.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
I left my credit card in a slot where you
actually have to pay for car parking, gone over to
Hamilton Island, didn't know where my card was. I had
no money to pay for the accommodation or anything like
that where is it? So I canceled everything and then
we get this phone call from the mainland at Early
Beach saying, hey, credit card lost here it is around there.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
I'm going, oh my god.
Speaker 5 (03:31):
Now I've canceled card and I can't use anything exactly.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Thank you Lorain, which someone had found it for me.
Patty's on the line, Paddy, what have you lost?
Speaker 7 (03:40):
Yeah, while on top of the car one time at
home when I used to live and drive off and
fell off and I was going back up the street
and the lady's seen it fall off and they me
and give it back.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Yeah, that's tough because so many people leave their things
on top of the roof as they're driving out and
then see them again.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (04:02):
Yeah, I've got a bit of money in it. But anyway,
I swing to a couple of dollars for done.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
That's awesome, fastic couple. It's a shame you have.
Speaker 5 (04:18):
Well now when you think about it, AirTag your wallets
because or the fight.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
As you said, find it fine like I didn't.
Speaker 5 (04:25):
My son left his mobile on the bonnet of my
car and because he had fined location, it was up
the stream and around about his dad and him went
and found it been run over by then we had
to go and get him another one. But yeah, we
had to find a location. He's like, oh, mum, when
you went around the to come off the front of
the car and it was in the garden bed there, Paddy.
All all not looking real good, but they're amazing things.
(04:47):
Yeah when you do loosing, because we all have it,
but we need the air tag on the wallet.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
That was lucky, Paddy. They were following you.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Yeah, Oh that's good, isn't it.
Speaker 5 (04:59):
Certainly?
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Yeah, I left a cup of coffee on top of
my roof and I didn't I didn't.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
Get that back.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
I got it on the wind screen behind her.
