Speaker 1 (00:00):
Mix one or two point three Maxinali in the morning
eighteen degrees in a possible late show. Now, guys, sometimes,
as you know, I get a little bit antsy because
I think we can be surrounded by negative news and
hard yeah, and also I think sometimes people are a
little bit down on the younger generation. Well, I came
across something on Facebook and it came courtesy of ten
(00:21):
year old Jackson, who goes to Saint Agnes's Primary and
I wanted to introduce him to you. Jackson, good morning,
hello Now Jackson, you play for the T Tree Gully
District Footy Club, right yep? And do you want to
tell everybody what you got your mum to help you?
Post on just the t Tree Gully Local Area Facebook page.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Yes, I am. The awards that I have been earning,
I haven't and from funty. I keep putting them up
for people who need them more than me because or
more struggle, because I wanted to make a difference in
(01:04):
the world and people know and help people that are
struggling at this point in time with expenses.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
And when you say these awards, these aren't ribbons or
trophies or anything. These are actually food vouchers. From Good
to Go take Away. They've obviously done a bit of
a deal with your team, which is awesome. And what
you've got some what are you win them?
Speaker 2 (01:27):
You want them for either women them for sportsmanship or
we win them for the best player.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
Mate Jackson. So there's a picture that accompanied the post.
Jackson's got a couple of little Junior Burger and Chips vouchers.
I love it this chip shop out there in sant Agnes.
Good to Go take Away.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
Give them a big play and it got a.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Whole heed of feedback, over one thousand likes, one hundred
and fifty comments on it. Jackson. Did you find some
people to take the vouchers?
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Yes, mate Jackson. Do you often think about doing things
like this and is this something that your mum is
really or your parents have really reminded you of or
is it just something that you do by yourself?
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Mum that reminded me? And then the ice and then
I remember that I had vouchers in there. We decided
to start doing it because we know how much people
keep struggling Jackson.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
It's such a mature view that you have for a
ten year old. Why do you want to help these people?
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Because there because I want to be a role model
to other kids, and I want to make a difference,
and I want to highlight the fact that people are struggling,
so we all need to be to help one another
and be grateful for what we have.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
Jackson, your ten years of age, You're going to rule
the world. Son, You're so cool. Now, how how have
you been playing that?
Speaker 3 (02:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (02:59):
Have you been playing? You guys going all right at
T Tree Gully and your team.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Yeah, we're probably one of the best in the competition, have.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
You, Jackson, because you've seen sea.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
We don't have. When we don't have our best players,
we sometimes fall apart a bit, but then we come
together and stop pulling our back.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Oh I love it, Jackson. Now, Jackson, I was just
so taken by your kindness. I was really and I
told as soon as I got into work, I said,
you've got to see this. Can we possibly speak to
this gorgeous little boy? Is it all right if you
just hold the line because you are not expecting anything,
you aren't asking for anything, but we might have a
little surprise for you in just a moment. Is that okay?
Speaker 4 (03:40):
Yep?
Speaker 3 (03:41):
All right?
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Awesome? All right, there's ten year old Jackson. There the
T Tree Gully District Footy Club Mix one or two
point three Max and Ali in the morning. If you've
just joined us, well we are doing some good news
this morning because there's just too much happy stuff going
on in the world and it's come courtesy of ten
year old Jackson. He goes to sun Agnes Primary, but
he also played for the T T Gully District Footy
Club and he decided to donate some prizes that he's
(04:04):
been winning by being a really good sports person or
just so in great sportsmanship to other people who might
need the prizes more.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
He's also being a little bit modest because you also
get these vouchers for being the best player, which I
think Jackson might be at times when he's playing out
there for teacher guy that he's got these vouchers for
kids meals. It's good to go take and start jumped
on Facebook. Now he wants to give them out.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Jackson, you're still with us? Yeah, yep? Well joining us
now is your coach? Gareth? Gooday mate, you're the under
ten's reds coach, are you?
Speaker 3 (04:36):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (04:36):
That's right?
Speaker 1 (04:36):
Alie, all right, well, I absolutely love that Gareth. What
a little legend you have running around in your team.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
Yes, he's he's a pretty vocal little chap and he
certainly gets the team to rally around. And you know,
we've got lots of good little players on the team,
but Jackson, certainly up there is one of the best
players for sure, Gareth.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Footy clubs are so good for bringing people together, and
I mean, and for all of the slack that they
can copy, times, I actually can teach a lot of values,
especially in the under tens level. And it sounds like
you guys have just been preaching this beautile world to Jackson.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
Look, the Teacher Gully Football Club does do a good job,
and there's lots of programs that the s NFL Juniors
put out that you know, we try to encourage the
kids to get along to whether it's mental health or
just you know, being respectful in the community. So you know,
we try to be respectful obviously, teach the kids respect
for the umpires, respect for each other, and respect for
(05:37):
the other team. And if you know they might knock
someone over, they try to help them, you know, get
up and obviously, you know, be polite for the umpires
because they're doing a good job. As well, So yeah,
the club really does do a good job of that
sort of thing.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
So Gareth, when you found out that Jackson is actually
giving away his burger and chip bouchers that he's been
winning on the footy field, what did you think, mate?
Speaker 4 (05:57):
Well, it was funny actually, because I remember I gave
him a voucher only a couple of weeks ago and
he got a little bit upset because he's I don't
eat this food and I don't want this voucher and
he tried to give it to one of the other
kids on the team. So obviously he's come up with
a great idea to give it to people in the community.
And we've got lots of great sponsors around the Intry
(06:20):
Gully and you know, there's quite lots of different food.
But then there's you know, the sports shop at Golden
Grove as well, and some other ones which he may
have preferred. But look, he's found a good way of
paying it forward, I guess, which is excellent.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
So Jackson, is that really the thing? Were you waiting for?
The big sports voucher? Is it?
Speaker 3 (06:41):
He's doing the right thing, Jackson. I think it's about
time someone did the right thing. But yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
Now, you guys, it sounds like you're doing just such
a beautiful job there, Gareth with the entire team, and
Jackson you are such a team man. So what we
thought we'd do. We reached out to the awesome people
at Pallaes Nova and what they want to do for you,
guys is you can take your entire footy team and
go and check out any movie that's showing right now.
But you can go and do it as a team. Maybe,
(07:06):
you know, if you're heading into finals, it could be
a good team bonding.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
Team bonding private cinema for you.
Speaker 4 (07:11):
Go all right, that sounds amazing, guys. And look we're
not We don't do finals in under tens, but we
normally do an after sort of season dinner night. So
that would be amazing, That would be perfect.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
Jaxon, is that alright with you?
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Yeah, that's fine with me.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
Now, Jackson, you're glad to give this one away.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
Okay, you have to use You've got to go and
enjoy the movie.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
Is that all right?
Speaker 2 (07:34):
I will?
Speaker 1 (07:34):
Okay, all right, guys, you have a great time. So well,
how many more rounds? Three, four, six?
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (07:39):
I think we've got holidays and then I think only
three more rounds for the under tens.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
Yeah, I do my fifty if on the last round.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
Oh yeah, Gareth, we're getting a batter and stuff for Yeah.
Speaker 4 (07:52):
Yeah, we do banners. And there's been quite a few
kids that have had fifties in the team this year,
which is good for ten year old. They play a
lot of footage.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
I love it. I love it all.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
My fifties this coming up game. But we've got two
away games, so we have to do a home Ye, try.
Speaker 4 (08:12):
And do it at a home game. It's just a
little bit better that way.
Speaker 1 (08:15):

fifteen years time, but if you want to go and
