It's great to have you here today, Kelly.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Huge ye purpose that underpins who you are and what's
brought you here today. You want to share it with
us your wife?
Speaker 3 (02:17):
Yeah? Absolutely.
Speaker 5 (02:18):
I suppose for me, my why well purpose is about
helping people create transformational changes in their lives. I suppose
I've been on a bit of a journey with my
professional life helping young people and you've justice facilities transition
back into the community. I owned a gym where I
help people physically, you know, transform their lives, and then
(02:39):
worked in health as well, where I was able to
create initiatives in the community, like well being academies at.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
Schools and things like that.
Speaker 5 (02:47):
And I think just helping people pursue their own journey
of understanding how they can unlock their potential and be better,
just through things that are as simple as just breathing,
just taking the time to declutter your thoughts and giving
some simple self care activities are really yeah, part of
(03:09):
my purpose.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
I guess totally.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
So how need translated that purpose into a business? B
through sixty helped us a little bit about the business.
Speaker 5 (03:17):
Yeah, well, I suppose I'll give you a little bit
of a backstory in terms of where where it started.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
So B through sixty started.
Speaker 5 (03:24):
From a point where I was a gemoona For about
six years, I owned a gym business, and I'd face
some adversities myself, and I think out of that, I
started to navigate the potential of what the space could
look like.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
I brought together a group of people that were like
minded and we started to work on this framework around
well being.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
Because it's such a loaded space and having a conversation
around well being was really hard because it could be
approached from so many different angles. And I think when
going and talking about it with people, it was really
confusing to really articulate it. So we spend a bit
of time just working on a framework which now helps
(04:10):
us articulate the message. And basically we hang all our
programming and delivery around what that framework looks like.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
So yeah, so well then give.
Speaker 4 (04:21):
Me different things to different people and you've developed a framework.
Do you want to talk us through the B through
sixty framework?
Speaker 2 (04:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (04:28):
Absolutely, So we developed this framework to help us articulate
what wellbeing looks like. And it's an energy based model
and it's basically there to help us look at prevention.
So we've got three key pillars mindset, which consists of
understanding our purpose. It's about self talk and happiness. And
(04:50):
then we've got our connected pillar. We don't live in
this wild in isolation. These are the people and factors
that we need to consider. So we've got.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
Our relationships engagement, how we interact with others. And then
we'll also got our community.
Speaker 5 (05:04):
So that could be religious, it could be cultural, it
could be sports. And then our last one is around
our functional pillar, and that's around being fit for purpose
and what's it's.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
Under that is our health movement and fuel. And fuel
is a two way thing.
Speaker 5 (05:23):
Which could be restoration of energy through sleep, or it
could be our nutrition as well.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
So yeah, so mindset, functional and connected.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
Those three chellows absolutely good.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
So talk to us about how you work with your organizations.
Speaker 5 (05:38):
Yeah, so I suppose there's a number of different approaches
that we take. As mentioned, we're really at that preventative
end of the spectrum or the continuum. We really want
to focus on helping our organizations with equipping their people
with some tools to be able to navigate this world
that's you know, it's crazy up there and so many
(06:00):
impacts from natural disasters to pandemic to the financial crisis
and all that.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
So what we do is essentially give people.
Speaker 5 (06:09):
Understanding through our framework, tangible and practical tools to be
able to navigate the different spaces. So we've got mental
fitness programs that are online, we can do them face
to face. There's a number of different elements that are
involved there, from coaching through to master classes and a
(06:29):
whole host of activities.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
And then we've also got for our wellbeing workshops.
Speaker 5 (06:34):
It's about giving that experience a really high energy and
face to face insight into what wellbeing could look like
and broken down in different parts. So we really get
to take a little bit of a deep dive into
the framework. We also have a mental fitness journal that
we have as well. Yeah, and there's there's a whole
(06:58):
host of the things that we can extend on to that.
So besides that, we do look at early intervention focuses
as well around mental health. We state which is a
really good way of giving people practical tools and the
confidence to have conversations around mental health because we know
that that is so important and the prevalence of mental
(07:19):
health and society and our communities as massive. So we've
just got to quit people with tools to be able
to look at those conversations around how to connect to
supports and other areas that can support people going through
some distress or some challenges.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Yeah, most definitely. And we know that in Australia, one
of five Australians are affected by a mental health issue
each year. And it's one of the reasons why after
meeting you last year I met you at Amualtis Navigate
some last year, it really became so relevant as I
(07:56):
got to learn more about your business and you and
the framework that how great would it be to take
B three six to Australia and so yeah, it just
had a bit of a launch happen on social media.
Do you want to talk to us about the plans
around tackling the Australian market.
Speaker 5 (08:15):
Yeah, I suppose there's there's a lot happening in Australia
at the moment. We're going through a lot of things
in New Zealand that have that have stopped us from
really growing the concept.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
And with Australia, I think the biggest thing is that
they're really embracing mental health and well being within workplaces.
Speaker 5 (08:34):
The other side of it is that legislation and policy
is enabling you know, businesses like us to grow. So
I think there's a lot of opportunity. We've been doing
a lot over here in male dominated.
Speaker 3 (08:47):
Industries such as the construction industry, and over there it's
it's massive, there's a.
Speaker 5 (08:53):
Lot of work and I've had a lot of conversations
with organizations and people over.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
There wanting to get us over there for work.
Speaker 5 (09:01):
So between that and the INDs support work, we've been
doing a lot of work here with disability organizations and
agencies and so there there's a lot of potential for
us to grow and really be able to scale the business, and.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
So I'm really excited about what's you know, what's in
front for the future for B through sixty.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
Yeah, well, I'm really excited about this journey, obviously being
a partner in B through sixty Australia, which has just
got its registration from Supply Nation, which is great. So, yeah,
hasn't got any messages for those out there that to
be watching this episode.
Speaker 5 (09:40):
Yeah, I suppose for you know, for us, it's just
about really promoting our self care and bringing some tangibility
to the space.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
I mean, those sorts of things aren't really hard.
Speaker 5 (09:50):
I think a lot of people just get caught up
in the everyday life and life gets busy, but sometimes
we just need to take a step back and really
put ourselves first, which is really hard because a lot
of people think that's quind of selfish. But at the
end of the day, you've really got to take that
time for yourself in order to grow further. And I think,
(10:10):
if if I can give some advice to anyone listening
out there or watching, this is really about just looking
after yourself because you've got to have your cup full
in order to pull from it.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
And and full others.
Speaker 5 (10:22):
So I think it's just making sure that Yeah, there's
a number of different factors that you need to consider
and just make sure you do that.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
Yeah, thanks so much, it's been great to have you
on the program today. Pelly and Live B through sixty
coming to Australia very soon
