Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to the Robin and Kid podcast. Coreyos from
the Brisbane Broncos where US Broncos had a finally had
a good win over the weekend.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Corey.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
Yeah, they yeah, got on the board which was good.
I think it was just one of those wins you
know where they know it was. It was a tough,
tough win and then back into the game you know,
got some points which was nice.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
Yeah. Yeah cowboys.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
Yeah, as good as everyone happy, that's a yes. That's
a big difference.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
Hey, we've got a lot of action going on because
we've got we're setting up at a little dance studio
outside because if you missed it somehow you missed it.
Over the weekend, the break dancing had its first outing
at the at the Games.
Speaker 4 (00:41):
Yeah, and already La have said we're not doing it.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
We're not doing it, and I think Brisbane have said, yeah,
we won't do it.
Speaker 5 (00:47):
We can't do it, especially because the Australian athlete made
world news by wearing an Australian at tracksuit, which looked
like it was a joke everyone when she came out,
everyone thought, okay, this is a joke.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
So much so that after I got tipped off that
it was on. I decided to hit record on the
microphone on my on my phone and I played it
in the lounge room. So this is Raphael sitting next
to me, Naomi, my partner's on the other side, and
the baby's on the couch sow. This is the three
of us watching the break, dancing and wondering if it
was taking the piss. This is real, get.
Speaker 5 (01:36):
Involved, So Sena, we woke up the baby.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
So raucous was our laughter. And that was in the
second round, where again Raygan failed to score a point
and the US dominated. Now straight, I think I went
from that sort of happiness and laughter to feeling sad
a few minutes because I thought, Oh, she's gonna she's
going to struggle to recover from this. And you've seen
I mean the everywhere.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Yeah, and that's I haven't even watched. I actually can't
put myself to watch it because it's just all the memes.
Like you said, when you're you finish all the all
the laughing and you know what, you just watch you
then sort of sit back and realize, yeah, it's gonna
be really hard, and it's it's sad, it's it'd be
really hard for you know her.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
I hope she can laugh about it.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
I really hope so, I really do, because I think
that's the only way to move on from something like
this is.
Speaker 4 (02:30):
Yeah, I reckon, you become part of an LDAD.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
Yes, just embrace it.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
Yes, that's the thing. She has to go one way
with it. You can't go.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Just got to embrace You have.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
To embrace it. You really got to. And I really
hope she does now.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Mel Buddle, who is another good friend of the show.
Last week when we set up Mel Budtle to do
some break dancing, because Mel went out and said, look,
it shouldn't be an Olympic sport, and you were you
were on your high horse. Turns out, Mel, you were right.
You were so right it should not and h and
we got you to do some practice outside. Mel just
(03:04):
we said, look, let's see, let's do your best. Turns out,
Mel was actually pretty close to the real thing, won't you?
Speaker 5 (03:10):
Mel?
Speaker 4 (03:12):
I was. I reckon, I could have got us very close.
Speaker 6 (03:16):
To almost not getting a medal, which is so much what.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
Did you watch it and feel validated when you saw
Raygun out there.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
I watched it and.
Speaker 6 (03:27):
I thought I've got to get me a tracksuit. We
are working on it, working on that you are coming
back this week, but in the meantime because we figured
that there were like three or four signature moves, and
we reckon that possibly Corey could have a crack at them.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
Any words of advice to give Corey before he tries
his very own Corey, I think you've got a natural
athleticism and that's going to get in your way.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
You have to.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
Avoid avoid the whole thing.
Speaker 4 (03:59):
I reckon, I use those gnarly fingers of yours to
make little kangaroo.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
Poors you see.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Yeah, and you'll be away per well, thank you, mel
And yes we are in getting you a tracksuit as
we speak.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
For your your dance later in the week.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
I may not come back. I might just go full
time with breakdancing. Thanks.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
Well, all right, let's set up to get Corey dancing
right after this.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
The Robin and Chit podcast.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
The big talk across the weekend, of course, is not
just the closing ceremony of Paris, but what happened in
the breakdancing. We've already found out that La won't be
carrying on with Olympic breakdancing, and Brisbane has the decision
whether we bring it back in twenty thirty two. Turns
out mel Buttle, our own mel Buttle, did a little
crack at it last week and was much closer to
professional levels than we expected.
Speaker 4 (04:55):
So I've walked out of the studio. We've set up
our own little breakdancing space with Scotti producers. Got excuse me,
addressed me properly? Okay, sorry, which one are you? Scatter
Scott the gam and Creamy. It's Corey Broncos has been
practicing to do the four signature moves from the Paris Games.
(05:15):
You think playing in the Broncos gad final stuff.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
You got some right, Okay, let's get the music going.
You got the music out there, all right ready, Corey,
this is your time.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
All right, We're going to start in three two one
to the Snake.
Speaker 6 (05:30):
We're on our back.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
Okay, they're on their banks. They're sliding backwards together. Okay,
now they hold.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
Again.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
Okay, they're tapping. Andy is just about keeping house. You're
a baking. I don't need to explain that.
Speaker 5 (05:50):
You welcome back.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
We're done there, not good.
Speaker 5 (05:56):
We represented the hood.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Touch has got me. It really stretched me out.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
Okay, we are recording all of this. It will be
its very own video.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
Honestly, it's not just the glimpses that I got through
the window here. It's not dissimilar to our own raygun.
It really isn't, Corey.
Speaker 5 (06:13):
You're pretty close to professional level, pretty good.
Speaker 4 (06:15):
So is this going down? Is one of those other
things we're trying to get him to do post Football.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Twenty thirty two.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
It's not too.
Speaker 5 (06:23):
Don't write it out, don't rule it out.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
Wake up with Robin and Kid.
