Menéndez Brothers To Be Resentenced!

the newsroom's got some breaking news for us.

Yeah, I've got a major update on the Menendez brothers.
So if anyone's not familiar their two brothers, their story
recently inspired a Netflix series.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
Which is terrifying Mead.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Yeah, Well, they've been behind buzzed for decades for killing
their parents in the eighties. They were twenty one and
eighteen years old at the time, so very very young,
but with a lot of new attention, new evidence has
actually seen the LA District attorney over there recommend that
they get re sentenced for the murders. And it means
a few things, but one of the things that it

could mean is that they're free men essentially by next week,
if I guess, if things played out all in their favor.
So speaking, a short time ago, I've actually got a
clip the LA District attorney said that they're going to
recommend that life without the possibility of parole, which is
what they are on, is removed and instead they're sentenced
forjous murders, which usually it would be fifty years to life.

But he had this to say.

However, because of their age under the law. Since they
were under twenty six years of age at the time
that the crimes occurred, there will be eligible for parole immediately.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Immediately. I'm going to have to watch this show. I watch.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
It's a little bit scary, Like I started to watch
it and thought, I can't do this by myself, just
because it's sort of creepy. Yeah, but I mean, are
they married because I saw something last week saying that
they are the most requested pen pal, like women all
over the world are fixated with them.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
I'm not sure. Look, I'm not sure if they're married.
But as someone who is on social media a lot,
I have seen this a lot, like I see pictures people.
I mean, some people are quite like interesting. They post
pictures with like love hearts all over them and they say,
look how attractive the men Enda's brothers are, How terrifying? Yeah,
which I think that happened a lot though with like

different true crime documentaries and then they go out as well.
Not sorry, monsters is not a true crime documentary. It's
there are there are documentaries about the men and brothers too,
But yeah, no, I have seen that around.

could be out as early as next week. Yeah, and
