Robin Kidd Now with Correos the podcast. Okay, so this
is really cool.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
I've just been sent this. It's from the Eaton's Hill
Veterinary Surgery social pages and it says this post is
a little different from our usual Furry Friends content, but
one we're incredibly proud to share. Doctor Allen and Lindy's
son Connor just made this incredible outfit for pop sensation
Chapel Roane in her brand new music video and it's

(00:51):
made from human hair.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Wait at the outfit is the outfit.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Is made from human hairs. So we have got Connor
O'Grady with us live from London.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Hello Connor, Hi, how are you going? Hey? Cool mate.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
So the backstory is that your your parents have got
the the Eatons Hill Veterinary Surgery and you're a busy boy.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
But now you're in London. So did you go there
for fashion?

Speaker 4 (01:18):
Yes? Yes, no, so I've got the family Vet Surgery
and so I grew up with the animals and you know,
with the big dinosaur out the front of the place,
and eventually sort of everything led me to London to
move over a couple of years ago and been here
ever since.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
So you didn't want to take off the family and
be vett.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
No, no, I think I can stitch the closed by dad.
You could stitch up the animals.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
Okay, So how did all this happen?

Speaker 4 (01:45):
I was just in my studio here in London and
then I had a little notification pop up my phone
and a stylist had sort of given me a shout
out as one of her favorite emerging designers to watch it.
So I ended up sending her a message saying like OMG.
So sort of kept in contact and then eventually got
an email about a project they were working on that
turned out to be a music video.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
So this is for the music video for Subway. But
who's idea? Was it? To make the clothes out of hair?
Human hair? Is it real un and air? Yes?

Speaker 4 (02:16):
Yeah, I definitely wanted one of the human hair. That
brief was It was really that the hair was part
of it and something they wanted to incorporate and have
fun with it, you know, have a bit of a
fantasy with it and something different, and so it was
quite it's quite a challenge. I haven't worked with you know,
making clothes out of hair before, but with something different.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Whose hair is it?

Speaker 4 (02:39):
I don't know who she is, but I can only
thank her for donating it.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Wow, okay, someone donated their hair?

Speaker 3 (02:45):
Do you yes?

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Like the like wig supply?

Speaker 2 (02:48):
So kind of explain the outfit to me. What does
it look like.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
There's a bra with like plaid straps, and then hair
on the cups sort of swelled to look like cold hair.
And then the skirt is also made from hair curled
and all woven with tinsel. They wanted a bit of
sparkle to it and really sort of playing into that
show girl sort of style.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Okay, and in chapel ron red hair color.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
Yes, yeah, it was very important to get the match.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Now this is real hair.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Hell yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
And obviously you've designed it for her. How does that work?

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Do you get paid for that dress or is it
like a like an ongoing payment.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (03:30):
Well yeah, it sort of just just for this project,
just for the outfit, just going backwards and forwards, sending
sketches and designs and working with her stylist genesis to
you know, have something that Chapel sort of liked and
you know it was going to be comfortable wearing in
and that sort of fit with the vision of the
music video.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Do you add on twenty percent because she's famous.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
In Oh god, no, no, no, keep it all fair?

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Yeah, you do it for free, right Connor? Oh?

Speaker 4 (03:59):
I mean I dropped everything?

Speaker 2 (04:00):
So yeah, So how was it working with hair? Did
you find? Did you have all this hair everywhere?

Speaker 4 (04:07):
It's still everywhere, so it's you know, I still finding
bits of it. But it was a challenge. Lots of
hairspray got me through it, and a bit of glue
and lots of lots of stitches to keep it all together.
It was interesting, but you know, a good challenge.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
How did you.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Get it to her? Did you hand deliver it?

Speaker 4 (04:25):
I planned to just fllo out myself some time because
I only ended up with I think four days to
make the outfit from scratch and you know, have it
to the post office and shipping company to get it there.
And then I got a call from the team, sort
of her team, saying, you know, hopefully the outfit, you know,
it's all on schedule. And then I checked the tracking
and it was still sitting in London and had to

(04:46):
be there the next day. So I ran to the
post office and begged for the parcel back and then
Visa for America and on the plane to drop off
at the set next day.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Wow, so you had to fly it there?

Speaker 4 (04:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Did that get any questions though? Like an airport security
like what have you got there? Just the dressmade out
of human kind of elect go with us? Did anyone
asked you question?

Speaker 4 (05:16):
No? No, luckily it's all pretty good. But I'd love
to see the faces of the security people.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
At that bag.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Did you see it on her? No?

Speaker 4 (05:25):
No, sort of more or less just a bit of
a drop and go, but then sort of just in
the hotel room the next day, and then a bit
of paparazzi pictures were coming out, chill sort of seeing
her sort of wearing it. Never got to meet her
only it was sort of very very briefly.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Well, Connor a grady.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
It will put you on the map, certainly on the
fashion map. If people want to follow you on socials
or see the stuff that you do, how do we do.

Speaker 4 (05:50):
That just on Instagram?

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Connor agree, clearly your parents are very proud, and now
so are we so well done?

Speaker 4 (05:58):
Well, thank you very much.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
It's either kind of side door. We can look up
the Eaton Hill Veterinary Surgery who reposting do you think
you'll ever make anything out of pet hair?

Speaker 4 (06:10):
Think I might might skip on that one.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
All right?

Speaker 1 (06:14):
The guinea pig stakes today, you know, I mean, I'm
you know the ideas Connor is next me?

Speaker 4 (06:18):
Okay no, no, A properer creativity.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
I like it. Thank you,
