Speaker 1 (00:12):
I heard podcasts, hear more kiss podcasts, playlists and listen
live on the Freeheart.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Robin Kidd now with Correos the podcast. Corey and I
went out to the beautiful Boondle Wetlands.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
It's an amazing place to drive into it.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
We're just thinking about all the international acts we have
come to Brisbane and we go just head out to Burundle,
just see the beauty of birding and where's the sirens?
And while we going to a bomb shelter, why are
we heading to a swamp? Because we built an entertainment
center there in the eighties and we were refusing to
let go of it.
Speaker 4 (00:55):
That's why.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
And so anyway, but there was the monster trucks were
on this weekend, and so were our boys being aged,
you know, five and three. And I had a couple
of other mates, Toby and VJ. They both have the
boys about the same age. So there's four dads and
four sons. Ye, and we're all just watching monster trucks.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
We thought, yeah, why what do you mean it's a
fun thing to do, Like that's a bromance right there.
Speaker 5 (01:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Yeah, they did the issue, they did the national anthem
at the start. It's very American it's like that.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
Yeah, they did the American national anthem and then.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
It was all Australian drivers and stuff. But just the
concept of standing up for the national anthem before watching
monster trucks just felt really redneck.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
Yeah it did, we all did it.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
And then the guy at the MC said, now, guys,
we've got two hours of fun on today, and Cory
and I looked at each other, like, what the two hours?
Speaker 4 (01:51):
That's a lot of monster trucks.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
Yeah, and I so remember doing this with my voice.
Oh my goodness, I know what you did.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
I bet I know what you did. But anyway, keep
telling me.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
We figured out why it took two hours?
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Yes, why, wow.
Speaker 4 (02:06):
I think it's more it was more of a kids one. Hey.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
So the first part finished, there's all monster trucks, right,
and then we've seen that.
Speaker 4 (02:14):
They started bringing out the bike jumps and we're like, oh.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Cool, they set up the there was motocross.
Speaker 4 (02:18):
That was fun, ye, and then they have.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
This little bell, the little interesting something.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
Stid the second parts about that happened, okay, sweet, go
back in there.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
And then there's these two clowns dancing around.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
No monster trucks, I'm not no bikes, no trucks, and
there's these two girls like, I.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
Don't have a clowns or something. They do floss flippy
and flossy. Yes, they're teaching everyone how to floss. So
the kids are well getting ten minutes and parents, you know,
we're supposed to be learning how to floss. And then
they had a laser show, which was very similar to
what you would just see if you walked into the
met It.
Speaker 4 (02:52):
Was just like he goes and now we have our
amazing light show. Oh and your cabin.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
What let me get because this was the trick idea
when my boys were little. Halftime, Oh the Kids Gone.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
High was actually three sections, so but we waited to
the to the end of the second section and we
went out. We had a beer amongst us, and then
we saw a large amount of people sort of leaving
because a lot of people do have younger kids. And
that's when we all just looked at each other and
agreed on the same line and we went, guys, it's
all over, and by it yeah, I can still hear it.
It's still on. It's still on, and we're no see
(03:27):
everyone's leaving.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
It was it was only because I'm like they finished
all the main part and then they said, oh, freestyle,
and I'm like, it'd be like ten to fifteen minutes.
And after the second one, I've seen the two dances,
I'm like, oh, I ain't come back the clowns.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
I mean, the boys loved it, but yeah, we reckon.
We gave it a good hour and a half. It
was a good hell, we just had to go.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
It's fun and little boys in particular in some little girls.
But you were saying that there was weird people.
Speaker 4 (03:57):
In the audience.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
As we arrived, something we noticed that. You know, there
was a lot of kids, and there's a lot of families.
But then every now and then you'd spot just a couple,
like just two people on a.
Speaker 4 (04:07):
Date, and like from twenty years old to fifty.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
Well, if you met someone on Hinge, you'd work out
their bogodness if you date.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
You would you even if someone said, hey, let's go
to the Monster Trucks on a date, come on, would
you go?
Speaker 1 (04:26):
I probably wouldn't, but I can see the merit in
it because you don't have to talk.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Yeah, oh yeah, you can't hear a thing, right, I
couldn't speak.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
And so you know, you don't have to have awkward conversation.
You can watch them while watching pretending to watch the
trucks and then kind of yeah, all they.
Speaker 4 (04:44):
Went for the lightshow and lossing. You can see if
they can floss.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
Yeah, you got that as thirteen one six fives. And
if you want to get involved, like, let's talk about
first dates. That seems like a bad for me. That's
a bad place the first day.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Just an anywhere that was just not the best place
to take. Someone's got to be something.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
Okay, what I want to hear where you took your
first dates.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
I already know yours, KiB so yeah, I'm not sure.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
It's better in a monster truck.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Really, that's certainly cheaper.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
You're going to have to remind me of what come
back with it.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Having done online dating for fourteen months, there are some
rules that you learn pretty quickly, and the first one
is not to go somewhere where you can't escape.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
You can't escape there, right because you.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
Paid your eighteen bucks, so you've only got in one car.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
You're in the same car out of Boondo.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
So unless you're going, hey mate, I'm just going to
go catch the train.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
To get out of here. Yeah, you're right, what was
my first date? Story? Because you're you're a cheap skate?
What did I do?
Speaker 1 (05:43):
You said, Hey, let's go for a run?
Speaker 4 (05:45):
That's right, a run.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Yeah, we went for a job. We were both ride
into jogging, and that's sort of what are you going
to do?
Speaker 4 (05:51):
Well?
Speaker 3 (05:51):
We just jobbed and chatted and then what did.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
You buy a coffee? We had? No, we went and
we had some typhoo. We had dinner afterwards after the job. Yeah,
we went for a running out of dinner and then
what did you run to the dinner? No, we wran.
We ran to the takeaway place, and then we picked
up the time and then we walked home for a
little warm down. Who's home to Naomi's place? I don't care?
(06:15):
And then we just had some times.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
It was like a five at jog.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
We did like about five k's. Was that the first date? Yeah,
it would have been our first date. I mean it
wasn't officially a date. Was like, hey, do you want
to go for a run because we've seen each other
out of the park, so we should go for a
run together. And you did, and then we're like and
then while we're running, we should get some food after this,
you know, was.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
It cold by the time we got done the food.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
The question was, don't worry about the temperature of the tie, Corey.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Did you kiss it?
Speaker 4 (06:41):
Not that night? Lips.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
So we did another run. We did another run and
then had some more than you know, cuddle by the second. Yeah,
we sort of kept our distance a bit, but you know,
you like the smell of someone when you're starting.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
My first date with Olivia was running along the beach.
Speaker 5 (06:58):
There you go, my cheeks cheek no, no, no, but
because because again I was like, I drove to Mark
cooler and then I was like if if because I'd
been lied to a couple of times bloke saying yeah,
they can run, and I'm like, don't lie.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
And he was faster than me. So there you go.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
So I was like, okay, you're you're a keeper. Yes,
I may or may not have stayed the weekend.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Yeah, there you go. Yeah, you don't muck around, but
fainly straight back to the room.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
I took you into an eventage that I just needed help.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
Yeah, you just brought her there as a as a helper.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (07:32):
They actually had Cory's guest as the name.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Oh she was.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
Only one in the whole event with the way to
make your date feel special.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
Cory's bring us so that she could remember people for you.
Speaker 4 (07:43):
Yeah, it was a Volkswagen like grand opening. I was forgetful.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
That does not make it feel like you. Might as
well have said insert woman's name here.
