Speaker 1 (00:12):
I Heard podcasts, year more kiss podcasts, playlists and listen
live on the free iHeart app. Robin Kidd now with
Courios the podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Magic Round. All done and dusted. It was a massive
weekend in Brisbane. Plenty of rain at the game. Sun
Corp got smashed, but the grass just held up. Yeah, Josh.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
I think a lot of people say, oh, you know,
it was bad, but we had a lot of rain. Yeah,
the weekend before didn't help. There was a lot of
footy in it rained, I think the same weekend, like
you know, so to for them to do what they've
done for that for the weekend, just gone and keep
it to a standard, you know, like a reasonable field. Yeah,
that's a massive pass.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Let's dissect the Broncos happened two to eight against Penrith,
who were not going great. Yeah, they just they started
well the Bronx and then it was just pretty much
awful from then on.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
They're fifteenth on the ladder Penrith. I just looked up.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
Yeah, and this is the thing I Oven said on
the Manager John Show that Penrith that the first few
rounds that they were just making errors, like they weren't
holding the ball. They weren't complete, and they usually would
like that they weren't the same team or they weren't
playing there to their capability. The Broncos went no the
Panthers at start of the year, right, so everyone was
riding them off and I'm like, you can't.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Like they're not really fifteenth year still, I kind.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Of believe now after that they've played, they've had a
couple of performances, I'm.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Like, oh, wow, no, there, what about the Broncos. We
go from being on fire last week and then we
just this this weekend.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
There was just nothing. It was it was kind of
hard to watch. I didn't get to see the first half.
I only got to see the second, but it just
looked like it's like they were not surprised, but Penrith
just really choked the Bronx out out of the game,
which I didn't think was going to happen. Like, I
didn't think that they could do that, you know, to

(02:07):
the Bronx with the way that we've been playing, and.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Maybe they had performance anxiety, you know how when you're
the focus because it's our team. It was magic round,
like it's a big deal. There would have been more
Broncos in the stadium than anyone else. Yeah, and maybe
it just got a bit overwhelming.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
And sometimes when you're trying to play foot and things
just start to not come off and the bounds of
the ball doesn't go your way. A few times you're
just like, come on, what what are we going to do?
And then you just get really stuck. And it just
thought the boys were stuck and it was hard to watch,
you know, just because I know how much that would
have hurt them, because they know how much better they
are than that.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Got one, well, I say not one Queensland team won
and that was.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
We had a lot of performance anxiety.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
All when you know, the queens and the things were
playing pretty good, so I was surprised. But the only
good thing about it is they play Friday, so it's
quick turnaround, so you drop the game straight away, forget
about it. Talking point is Friday night and they you
know it's going to be a you have to win, so.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Well Friday Night. And the big thing that's possibly we're
going to get to the Mattie John Show in a second,
but the big thing on Friday Night is that Ezra
Mam is now available to be selected. They put him
up on the big screen at sun Court.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Oh, they do, because he's been off for how long
after that incident to the car.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
And yeah, since the accident ten weeks he's been suspended.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Yeah, and yeah, he's only cop that and he knows that,
but I believe it. They did it twice and.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Put him on the big screen.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Yeah, and have you spoken to him?

Speaker 3 (03:47):
No, I haven't. I actually wanted to see him after.
They left pretty quick after because the next team was
coming in, the next game was on, so they had
to get out of this. But yeah, it's kind of
it's kind of hard to watch that, but you know,
he obviously did what he did and he's going to pay.
The consequence is still when he comes back because you
haven't seen him yet, so.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
He hasn't spoken publicly.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
What's positive for him though, is that we needed.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
Yeah, and to be honest, he's just got to come
back and and just play footy and try and try
and silence it out. It's hard to do, but that's
the only way he's going to win the fans back.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
One of the first things we had Corey do when
he became part of the show was proved that he
could become a backstreet boy in order to take the
whole show to Vegas and you can join us. We
will have a two tickets to join us in Vegas
seeing the Backstreet Boys. The competition is still to follow,
but make sure you just get your passport ready. That's
all you need to do for now.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
So of course we put a video together if you're
singing and dancing, and then we sent it to every
single person we could think.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Of, including the guys from the Maddie John Show. Now
you're on there over the weekend as part of Magic Round.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
And shouldn't have told you.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
You had a little chat.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
You had a little serious chat first about retirement, how
things are going.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
Hopes yourself, enjoying retirement, yeah, loving it, to be honest,
opportunities that have come after that.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
It just did feel right.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
And I'm lucky enough to have a job and with
the radio and all of that now, but it was
definitely right.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Man.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
I couldn't get out of first year for the last
time we saw it.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
But you can tell that they're all just dying to
play the video of you as a Backstreet point.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
How is radio going? It's really good because you've got
to get up.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
It's good.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
I love early mornings, waking up when the moon's love
has hurt me. I got a good routine and really
enjoying it. Everyone tells me I love talking. I always
knew that. It's kind of been hard to have an
opinion on everything it's been. That's been the hard part,
and then not saying the wrong thing. So I have
a couple of opinions.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
You like talking.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
We're at the time, aren't we.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
You obviously love dancing and singing.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
We saw this.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
It made me Yeah, good, Holy struggled first year again?
What is it that's a new career?

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Did you want to do that? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (06:31):
Vegas.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
He was going to say, did they know that you
were singing that as well? I don't think they did.
They just thought you were dancing. No, they did.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
Yeah, Now they asked me about that, actually asked me
to sing in between the breaks to the fans, and
I wish I did it now. It would have been
pretty fun.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Yeah. Well, you can check it all out if you
missed the video first time round. It's up on our
socials and it's glorious.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
It is glorious.
