on X tropical Cyclone Alfred. Well Alfred may not have
hit the coast as a cyclone, but the tropical low
has still left more than a quarter of a million
Southeast Queensland is without power. Forty six thousand of those
are in Brisbane and that number is growing. Some of
the most impacted suburbs are Winnhem, Wishart, Roach Dowl, Winnham, West,

Chapel Hill and Upper Mount Gravat Council's rapid Response team
is out and about assessing the damage from the X cyclone,
with plenty of trees and power lines down as well.
Alfred downgraded it to a tropical low on Saturday morning
after crossing the Morton Bay Islands as a category one.
It's expected to bring more heavy rains at heads West,
with officials urging us to stay bunkered down for now.

Brisbane Lord Mayor Adriane Schrinner tells Robin Kip and Choreots
there's a sense of relief from dodging the worst, but
there's still a risk of rain and flooding to come.

It's a bit of a wait and see for now,
but we'll obviously get out to people and tell them
what's next as soon as we've got some clarity, and
the critical factor now is just how much rain will
get over the coming twenty four hours.
