Speaker 9 (03:34):
So my little man who's seven years old, named Byron,
he has ADHD, but he also has what we call CASS,
which is childhood a practicia of speech essentially. Yeah, so
essentially it's he understands everything. He goes to speech therapy
three times a week and essentially just a motor planning
(03:58):
issue where his brain really struggled with his mouth, the
muscles in his mouth really struggled to just essentially process.
Speaker 4 (04:10):
Words, is it or yeah?
Speaker 9 (04:11):
Yeah, you can talk, but like obviously mum and day
we know exactly what he's saying. He does struggle and
he's very, very shy because of it. But yeah, yeah,
he's an absolute legend and he has such a great heart.
Speaker 4 (04:25):

Speaker 5 (05:05):
We had a bunch of our kids in the studio

the whole party.

Past the parcel. Past the Parcel was one, and then
we asked them about what gifts should be in the
past the parcel.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
Yeah, a gun.
Speaker 5 (05:32):
Alone, one giant.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Balloon which is like this big.
Speaker 10 (05:38):
Yeah, okay, I think it's a perpereafrage, right.
Speaker 5 (05:43):
And that was Rafael my Son who suggested a propeller,
just a single propeller for a drone.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
An appropriate gift.
Speaker 7 (05:50):
And how much do they cost?
Speaker 5 (05:51):
Kept I got them on Alley Express. They're like six dollars.
Speaker 4 (05:54):
Oh yeah, they're cheap.
Speaker 11 (05:55):
So that's why, that's why you're always in the new
ones and why we focus on rafi.
Speaker 5 (05:59):
When your child said a gun, a gun, gun, that's
what she didn't say, nor gun?
Speaker 4 (06:04):
Yeah, but was how country? It was great.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
Chances, it was quick, four answers, she was getting it out.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
I know you've got a soft spot for Trump. How
far is it coryer you're doing it? What's a gun?
I don't know. Ridiculous gifts for kids.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
Because people, yeah, like, what is the craziest thing that
someone has put in wrapping paper given to your child and.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
Went here, take this, you're welcome.
Speaker 5 (06:31):
I saw someone posted a video the other day, I
think it was on Instagram TikTok where their child had
been given a like a megaphone.
Speaker 4 (06:39):
You know, there's just amplify your voice.
Speaker 6 (06:44):

Ron Kid Now Vitorias the podcast.
Speaker 5 (07:32):
All right, and we're talking about weird gifts that you
give to kids. Thirteen one oh sixty fives our number.
Speaker 6 (07:38):
Hey Molly of Ipswich, Hello.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
Hello, Hello, We're talking about terrible or weird gifts for kids.
Speaker 12 (07:45):
Yeah, yes, So my sister for her eighteenth birthday, Michaelsin
gave her a roll of toilet paper, and then for
her twenty first he gave her a scratchy that had
already been scratched, with a lovely calumb side that read
sorry you didn't win it.
Speaker 7 (08:04):
For the gag. I hope it was for the gag.
Speaker 4 (08:07):
He's just a smarter all Did he explain the toilet paper?
Speaker 12 (08:11):
There was there any I don't think so. I'm sure
there was a reason, but it was just she always says, no,
don't get me anything anything.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
Unless it was twenty nineteen in COVID, there is no experience.
Speaker 11 (08:27):
Pretty much one of those guys, or they're one of
those people that bought a lot, yes, and had heaps
of spare they hoarded all the toilet paper, toilet paper
and a leader of hands.
Speaker 12 (08:38):
Pretty much.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
Problem thirty one sixty five, Samantha, have you wrong her?
Speaker 6 (08:45):
What was the crappiest cheapest present?
Speaker 13 (08:48):
So my auntie was known for being very stingy when
we were kids growing up, and one Christmas she got
my cousin and I a pollypocket to share, but not
in the traditional way. She gave me the little pollypocket
doll and gave my cousin the actual like container set
that it comes.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
So is it I don't go in pocket? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (09:10):
No, it's like a little oval sort of house and
there's lots of little things that go in the house,
and the pollypocket is the doll. But you need all
the accessories for her to play in the house.
Speaker 9 (09:19):
Right, So.
Speaker 13 (09:22):
I just got the doll and then she also like
separated like we both got like one hair Cliffy like
she basically everything between us.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
Do you know, Samantha, you have reminded me that my
boys when they were little work absolutely obsessed with Thomas
the tank engine because we had a model train set
set up in the living room, and one of their
relatives who will remain nameless, thought that it would be
great to buy them the engines that went with like
the capoose that went with Thomas as opposed to actual Thomas.
Speaker 7 (09:52):
So they didn't have any of the trains.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
We didn't have Gordon, we didn't have a.
Speaker 11 (09:58):
Carriage, so that like a fitness I.
Speaker 5 (10:05):
Did ask was told they were just cheaper, Samantha, one
hundred and fifty bucks to spend at Fun Labs for you.
Speaker 4 (10:13):
Thank you, HIJGX hotelers where fun checks in and boredom
checks out. You can book now ron.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
Kids Now with Chios. The podcast.
Speaker 5 (10:23):
That's around Brisbane's biggest birthday party Tonight.
Speaker 10 (10:26):
Tonight, Brisbane's biggest birthday party is on and at Kiss
ninety seven to three. The party starts now Brisbane's Biggest Birthday.
Speaker 5 (10:35):
Boy So we donated three family passes to Brisbane's biggest
birthday party to the Children's Hospital Foundation for all the
amazing work that they do with families during the hardest
of times. And one of those families is Steph and
her kids is Steph.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
Joins us now Steph out of Karendar morning, Steph.
Speaker 6 (10:53):
Morning, Hello?
Speaker 14 (10:55):
Right, hello, Hello?
Speaker 7 (10:58):
Is it tired mum's voice?
Speaker 4 (11:00):
Now?
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Why are you involved with the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation.
Speaker 14 (11:04):
So my twins, August and Rafferty were born prematurely at
thirty three weeks, and they spent six weeks in Nikou
before I got to bring them home. And nine days
after I brought them home, my little twin, August was
blue in his bassinette. So he was rushed back to
the Queensland Children's Hospital and that's really where our journey began.
Speaker 8 (11:27):
Wow.
Speaker 14 (11:28):
So August spent weeks and weeks undergoing tests. He needed
oxygen support and we went home on that for the
first year of his life, and then his heart was
always sitting dangerously high at one hundred and ninety to
two hundred beeps per minute, so he continued to undergo
tests to figure out what was going on, and genetically
they figured out he has a issue on his HDM forging,
(11:52):
which affects the iron flowed to his heart. So he
spent the first year of his hospital the first year
of his life story in and out of hospital.
Speaker 12 (11:59):
And we have been involved with the.
Speaker 14 (12:02):
Children's Foundations, from the cuddlecarers that would cuddle him when
I couldn't be there because I was with Rafferty or
just I could have a shower two hours a toddler.
He enjoys the playroom on level six and they bring
toys and books to his room where he's in isolation.
So been a big part of our life.
Speaker 5 (12:20):
Yeah, and you mentioned raffiti your other twin, and oftentimes
when you have a sick child, raffiti gets forgotten because
you're so busy right with trying to make sure that
that August is well and survives. And so because I
know I've seen this from my brother in law, they
had literally two twins as well. One was terribly ill,
(12:42):
the other one wasn't, and the other the.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
Other one sort of I don't know. He had a
lot of time by himself, unfortunately, because.
Speaker 14 (12:52):
Come along for the ride and they just can't get
passed around and you're focusing not really on that twin,
but hopefully he's making it up for him.
Speaker 8 (12:59):
Now, you know, the children Hospital does do it great there.
Speaker 11 (13:02):
You know, they obviously, you know, do a fantastic job
with sick kids and helping families through really tough times.
Speaker 6 (13:10):
But we've got the world's biggest game room.
Speaker 8 (13:13):
Yeah, we have the biggest playroom.
Speaker 10 (13:15):
Now.
Speaker 14 (13:15):
Yeah, I know, it's super exciting.
Speaker 8 (13:19):
Did you hear about the big party that we are having?
Speaker 14 (13:22):
I did hear a big about the big party that
you guys are having.
Speaker 8 (13:25):
Yeah, Okay, do you think August and rapidly or fit
in great?
Speaker 9 (13:28):
Oh?
Speaker 14 (13:29):
I think they would love to. I'm sure they'll show
their their dance moves and all their jumping kill.
Speaker 6 (13:34):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
Well, I can't wait.
Speaker 8 (13:36):
I'm excited.
Speaker 11 (13:37):
I can't wait now to have the have the boys
there and yeah, hopefully they can both have some well,
have a lot of fun.
Speaker 8 (13:43):
Yeah, and have some memories there together. They'll be good.
Speaker 4 (13:45):
And how does August go now? Is like?
Speaker 5 (13:49):
Is this oxygen support that he had to have? Was
that like literally having a tank with him at all times?
Speaker 2 (13:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 14 (13:54):
So we had to carry the tanks around. We had
some portable tanks that would come with us everywhere, and
then we had four big tanks set up in the
home and then he just had long wires that connected
him so we could move around the house. He's no
longer on oxygen, which is good, but he does get
up heartholter every two months and so he wears that
on his little backpack and he's pretty cruisy now, was
(14:15):
just running around with it on.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
Is it stressful though, because you must be constantly worrying.
Speaker 14 (14:20):
It is stressful. I mean when we first didn't know
what was wrong with August, I mean it took a
few tests to figure out the genetics. It was a
bit worrying because he did have many tests and one
of the tests is to stop the hut and restart
it to see if it goes back into its own rhythm,
which didn't work for August. So that it's just a
lot of stress and the unknown, I think is the
(14:41):
worst part, and it creates a lot of anxiety for
August two. I mean we get into the car park
at the Queensland children and he's already shaking because he
knows two years. So the Children's Foundation really helps to
bring the joy when it's scary moments for him.
Speaker 6 (14:55):
Have you got a supportive partner, Have you got supportive
family around you?
Speaker 14 (14:59):
I've got supportive family. But I'm a solo mum and
I had the boys by myself. So there is two
older boys as well. There's four of them.
Speaker 7 (15:06):
But you have four boys, I have four boys.
Speaker 6 (15:10):
There is a special place you.
Speaker 7 (15:13):
Goodness, how old are the older ones?
Speaker 14 (15:18):
Madden is seven and Scout is fiveing.
Speaker 5 (15:25):
Them all excellent stuff to meet the whole team and
you at the party and thanks for sharing your story, Steph,
thank you so much.
Speaker 14 (15:34):
Have a great day.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
Now with the podcast.
Speaker 5 (15:40):
Halfway through the podcast, you mentioned this on the show
Today in Entertainment News the Stephen Colbert talking about Jimmy.
Speaker 4 (15:48):
Kimmel being back on air.
Speaker 5 (15:49):
He was so excited he was, but yes, he also
mentioned Australia in that because of course ABC America is
the is the company where Kimmel was working, and ABC
Australia got involved.
Speaker 15 (16:02):
ABC was being flooded with complaints about taking Jimmy off
the air, but not all those complaints went to the
right place because down under, the Australian Broadcasting Company, which
also goes by the initials ABC, was being barraged by
misdirected complaints about the Kimmel suspension.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
Come on, folks, leave them alone.
Speaker 15 (16:22):
Don't attack Australian EBC.
Speaker 8 (16:25):
I mean there's nothing.
Speaker 15 (16:26):
They never canceled their popular late night host Horrifying Giant Spider.
Speaker 4 (16:34):
Show.
Speaker 5 (16:36):
It's a night show with horrifying giants.
Speaker 4 (16:45):
We got none.
Speaker 5 (16:46):
That's sad that we don't like what we have. We
had when I was at high school, I remember watching him.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
Jennifer Kite, who is still reading the news in Melbourn. Yeah,
advice artism. He's kind of behind the scenes. He kind
of appears every now and again.
Speaker 4 (17:00):
And then Rove took the mantle for a little bit there.
Speaker 8 (17:04):
How come we don't really is it just because we're
not like it.
Speaker 5 (17:06):
Must just be the must just be the numbers, like
it's not earth to make the show. They don't make money.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Well, they tried with Sampang, yes for a minute. I
think he only made one, if not two episodes and
it just didn't run. And that's like a month ago
or two months ago, three months ago.
Speaker 8 (17:23):
And they just late night talk shows.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
Well, it's so expensive that if they don't find traction straightaway.
Speaker 5 (17:28):
And we don't have like we don't have the access.
It's good when we have a big artists come to town.
Like for example, if Snoop Dogg. You know, if we
had a late show, we could have Snoop Dogg on there.
But there's a lot of times when there is no
Snoop Dogg in town and then there's no but but.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
That's what That's why the biggest arguments against acting the
project because that was actually one of the few places
you know, those kind of artists.
Speaker 5 (17:52):
Could go otherwise because you look now, if a big
artist comes to town without the project, now they have
to go on the morning TV shows, and the sets
on those are so weird when they have to perform
a song at eight am and there's no one.
Speaker 4 (18:05):
There, and then they crossed to Carl dancing and it's
just weird.
Speaker 11 (18:10):
You got face for radio, Yeah, maybe we've got faces
for late night TV.
Speaker 4 (18:15):
Tell you what would be an easy, big, solid transfer
just from this to that?
Speaker 5 (18:19):
I don't say easy, no solid, solid transfer, just you know,
what do you do? You talk about the ship that's
happened on that day?
Speaker 4 (18:28):
Songs?
Speaker 8 (18:28):
Yeah, you got a couple of silly stunts, a couple
of my men.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
Yeah alright, no race, We're just going to sell it
to someone that YouTube, Yeah, tried on YouTube.
Speaker 7 (18:39):
See someone will pick it up.
Speaker 5 (18:40):
Last time we did YouTube was live streaming from our
seek when drunk.
Speaker 4 (18:46):
There was a lot of drunk that was good.
Speaker 8 (18:47):
That was our best nice.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
I don't think you watched them many of them back?
Speaker 1 (18:50):
Did you participating in them?
Speaker 4 (18:57):
And what did you watch it? Keep believing they're good?
Did you watch it? I can't way, I know, I've
got flashbacks. I'm just thinking of what we did and
I don't think it was good. Know how it started,
how it ended. Okay, I'll treat yourself. You don't have a.
Speaker 2 (19:13):
Little now with Coos podcast.
Speaker 5 (19:20):
But we finally found a show at home Gnomi and
we've been we've been hunting for a show that we
both like.
Speaker 7 (19:26):
Yeah, it's tough at the moment, I agree with you.
Speaker 4 (19:27):
And this is definitely her choice. But I've got on.
Speaker 7 (19:31):
Board Real Housewives of Sydney.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
No, it's tolerable for man, it's good.
Speaker 8 (19:40):
What's it about.
Speaker 5 (19:40):
It's called The Girlfriend, So it stars Glenn Close, so
House of Cards and many other things, and it's also
got Olivia Clark. She's an English actress who was in
the Game of Throne spinoff House of Dragons. She was
the young lady who married the king who was yes beautiful,
sort of redhead, sort of brunette, redhead, gorgeous girls.
Speaker 4 (20:00):
So she plays your girlfriend.
Speaker 5 (20:02):
And she is she's sort of an up and coming
and is dating this boy who's the heir to billions. Right,
So a little bit sussed on the girl because she's
come from a very humble beginnings and Glenn Close, we
haven't finished it yet, but Glenn Close, it seems might
be a little unhinged, and it seems like the girlfriend
might be a little unhinged. It's hard to work out
(20:23):
who's the most wrong out of the mother and the daughter,
and they go through so every episode though, they'll show
it's like it's split in half. So they'll show it
from the perspective of the girlfriend and then you'll see
the same sequence of events, but in the perspective of
the mum.
Speaker 7 (20:39):
Oh that would interest me.
Speaker 6 (20:40):
Okay, this is good.
Speaker 5 (20:41):
Yeah, And so this is just a little bit of
the mum having spoken to the girlfriend's mum.
Speaker 4 (20:47):
She's trying to find some information. When she was saying,
SATs on something.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
You bad nights, She'll be ten times I had to leave.
Before you realize you're a one. You've seem to yourself, Laura.
Speaker 4 (21:02):
She's calling her son to leave a message because he's
not talking to her. I know you don't want to
speak to me, but this is urgent. Well you just
come over and.
Speaker 7 (21:11):
We'll talk for what happened?
Speaker 4 (21:14):
Why, Well warning you'll have to watch.
Speaker 5 (21:16):
I'm not spoiling anything, but I do want to talk
about about when you've had an in law that just
hates you because that just.
Speaker 8 (21:24):
Know where his gun. So why you being the in
law chat? Not my cent and what's going on?
Speaker 5 (21:29):
My current in laws are fantastic, Okay, yes, yeah, we've
all had had bad ones. I member when I dated
when I dated the American girl, and like I moved
over to America for a bit with Emily.
Speaker 4 (21:41):
Now her her dad was was born in Hong Kong,
but then moved to San fran and had found me
there and he did not care for me.
Speaker 5 (21:51):
I think because I didn't go to university makes sense, yeah,
and like it didn't matter that I sort of earned
some good money and things like that, but no, because
I wasn't properly educated.
Speaker 8 (22:00):
You're a fake nerd.
Speaker 5 (22:01):
Yeah you've got the glasses, but you don't have the
and he seen straight through those glasses.
Speaker 4 (22:07):
He made it very difficult and we didn't make it
and I think he was a big part of it.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:13):
I broke up with my first ever love in Burke
in far western New South Wales. Fell in love with
the country boy and still like when I think about him,
I have this really soft spot for him. But his
mum was like, you are not You are not taking
my son away from the family farm, from the cotton farm.
You are not going to And you know I was
(22:34):
working at the local radio station, so of course I
was going to be transient to move eventually.
Speaker 7 (22:39):
Yeah, yeah, and so yeah, she did everything like everything.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
We're talking a small country town where you walk down
the street and if someone ignores.
Speaker 6 (22:48):
You, the whole town sees.
Speaker 7 (22:50):
It's that stuff.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
Wouldn't let me sit on like if we'd go to
church because he was Catholic, We've got to church and
she wouldn't let me sit on the family pew of
what like. It was full on wow, And yeah it
broke us up absolutely. But do you know what happened
to him? He joined the priesthood.
Speaker 4 (23:04):
Oh wow, apparently if you can't with me your Jesus,
that's his two options.
Speaker 8 (23:15):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (23:15):
Good on him.
Speaker 5 (23:16):
Well thirty one, oh, sixty five. Tell us about the
time the in laws hated you.
Speaker 4 (23:20):
Or maybe you hated the in laws.
Speaker 14 (23:22):
I've got one.
Speaker 4 (23:23):
Oh right, good, hang on to it. We'll come back
with yours right after this. Thirty one o six five.
Speaker 5 (23:29):
Now with the podcast, we've been talking about this show
on Amazon Prime. It's called The Girl Friend as stars
Glenn Close and Olivia Clark who's from a House of Dragons.
But it's the mother and the future daughter in law
that do not get on at all, and it's hard
to work out who's the crazier of the two. Well,
(23:50):
I'm not there yet. I'm on the final episode, but
they are not getting on. So yeah, tell us about
the in law's thirty one oh sixty five.
Speaker 11 (23:58):
Now, my story is not really one that mon in
laws don't hate me, but well not that you know,
not that I know of, But I know tiggans mom
deb she she doesn't like me driving a car.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
And I found that out.
Speaker 8 (24:11):
I realized that after a while because she got a
new she got.
Speaker 11 (24:15):
A new on when the kids, when Huxy came to
have a bigger car to fit two car seats.
Speaker 8 (24:20):
In and whatnot. For a while, I'm like, I'm not
I'm not.
Speaker 4 (24:24):
I've never been asked to drive this car?
Speaker 12 (24:26):
What a car is it?
Speaker 8 (24:28):
It's a it's a it's a Porsche car.
Speaker 5 (24:30):
It's as Why have I never been asked to drive?
Speaker 4 (24:35):
But before that it was it was because of the car.
Speaker 8 (24:38):
Before it was a smaller version.
Speaker 11 (24:40):
And I remember when we went and test drove it
up in Towns because one of Jean's friends. We're up
there and they gave us to test drive it and
it was my turn and I like testing cars out.
Speaker 8 (24:54):
Yeah, And when I got back, I remember everyone was
what was that smell?
Speaker 4 (24:59):
What did the brakestick?
Speaker 8 (25:01):
It's noticeable?
Speaker 4 (25:04):
Are you going to get any speeding fives?
Speaker 8 (25:06):
I went none?
Speaker 4 (25:09):
Ever since then you lost your Carpridge? Fair enough, fair
fair enough? But when yeah?
Speaker 5 (25:15):
When did they really hate you? We want to know
Jess out of Cleveland. So this is Is this your
actual mother in law, Jess or did this not work out?
Speaker 16 (25:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 17 (25:22):
No, so this is my actual mother in law. Yeah.
When I first met my partner, we were still in
high school. We were about sixteen seventeen years old. And
when I first met my mother in law, she found
out that I was Baptist and she is Catholic. So
(25:43):
she did not like that I was Baptist. She said
that she would throw holy water on me and that
I would sizzle because I was the devil child because
I was just not Catholic.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
Oh my goodness, what year that's That's like Middle Ages?
Speaker 6 (26:03):
Are you Elsham from?
Speaker 5 (26:05):
When the first scene comes off?
Speaker 12 (26:11):
Jest?
Speaker 7 (26:12):
How did you get over that? Jess?
Speaker 2 (26:14):
Like?
Speaker 4 (26:14):
What happened?
Speaker 6 (26:15):
If he's your current partner?
Speaker 17 (26:18):
I think just time. They didn't like me for a
long time, and they had a lot of strange reasons.
I'm a redhead and they didn't like that I was
a red head. They said I had a terrible taste
in men, so they didn't like me for that.
Speaker 4 (26:31):
But hang on, he chose their son.
Speaker 17 (26:37):
Yeah, well, they just they just wanted to hate me
for any possible reason, I guess. But they realized that
I wasn't going anywhere. My partner and I have been
together for thirteen years now, so they just kind of
got used to it.
Speaker 8 (26:49):
Was there no random nights where you just felt drops
the water on your forehead and.
Speaker 4 (26:54):
Then they're like, she doesn't sizzle.
Speaker 5 (26:57):
We got a double past a tailor made at the
Tivoli for you. This is the ultimate Swifty sing along
at the Tivoli October eighteen, good only jests.
Speaker 7 (27:05):
Thank You, thank You.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
Now with the podcast.
Speaker 10 (27:13):
Good Night, Brisbane's Biggest Birthday Party is on and at
Kiss ninety seven to three, the party starts now.
Speaker 2 (27:20):
Brisbane's biggest birthday Bye.
Speaker 4 (27:24):
We are indeed throwing Brisbane's biggest ever birthday party.
Speaker 5 (27:26):
Corey was set to this task a few weeks ago now,
having never thrown a kid's birthday party or perhaps even attended.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
No, never even attended one, and so we said, that's okay,
you can throw one for two hundred and fifty people.
It's happening at Area fifty one tonight and we've got
so much fun, cool stuff, but you haven't organized most
of it.
Speaker 8 (27:48):
I thought it was known that Corey is no how
to throw a party.
Speaker 5 (27:51):
Oh yeah, you are dressed like Corey Worthington right now,
a little trip back from two thousand.
Speaker 4 (27:57):
Oh he partied unapologetically.
Speaker 5 (28:00):
You did, now hearing your your struggles throughout this process.
But Kenzie contacted the show because she had some worries
about your ideas.
Speaker 8 (28:08):
Is there nothing you liked that I've.
Speaker 14 (28:10):
Said because they're lane?
Speaker 4 (28:14):
Because everything you've said is lane.
Speaker 5 (28:17):
So she did accept Area fifty one, which is the
location will be out tonight in Underwood.
Speaker 4 (28:23):
It's the old Bunnings building. It's massive. So you've done
well there.
Speaker 6 (28:26):
Yes, you have, You definitely have.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
But because the party is tonight, we cannot go any
further unless we do a final checklist with Mackenzie, who
joins us.
Speaker 6 (28:35):
Hello Mackenzie, Hello, you're excited about tonight.
Speaker 14 (28:40):
I'm really really excited.
Speaker 13 (28:42):
I cannot wait.
Speaker 4 (28:44):
Awesome.
Speaker 8 (28:44):
Are you confident that I've got everything?
Speaker 17 (28:48):
No, I'm been the check through right now making everything.
Speaker 4 (28:53):
Okay.
Speaker 13 (28:54):
Have we got a venue?
Speaker 2 (28:56):
Yep? Checked?
Speaker 14 (28:57):
Have we got high back with definitely?
Speaker 4 (29:00):
Lilly? Yeah? With Lolly's that you made it?
Speaker 8 (29:05):
Are you actually serious? You couldn't see them?
Speaker 4 (29:09):
That's what they were.
Speaker 1 (29:11):
We managed to do that, Mackenzie through Tom's Confectionery warehouse
with the human claws, so that I know for sure
has happened.
Speaker 4 (29:17):
Yes.
Speaker 12 (29:20):
Entertainment.
Speaker 4 (29:20):
Have you got face paint?
Speaker 2 (29:22):
Fore?
Speaker 17 (29:24):
You got music with the DJ or G music?
Speaker 8 (29:28):
I got music?
Speaker 4 (29:29):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (29:30):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
Have we got food and cake?
Speaker 4 (29:34):
I got food and we and we we had someone
with the cakes yesterday.
Speaker 8 (29:40):
They helped.
Speaker 14 (29:41):
You should have balloons?
Speaker 4 (29:44):
Balloons, We actually do have balloons today. Somebody jumped in
and helped us out with the balloons.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
Yes, so tick, well that's everything.
Speaker 4 (29:55):
Yes, they all text.
Speaker 5 (29:56):
We've got to thank Balloon h Q for all the
balloon decorations they jumped into. Save Corey again today, everyone
saved Corey's skin.
Speaker 4 (30:03):
Absolutely.
Speaker 8 (30:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (30:07):
I make sure everyone wears something comfortable.
Speaker 4 (30:10):
Comfortable, that's true, you can wear more.
Speaker 6 (30:17):
But do you know what's the most important thing we need?
Speaker 7 (30:21):
McKenzie?
Speaker 2 (30:22):
Is you?
Speaker 6 (30:23):
Are you coming?
Speaker 9 (30:25):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (30:25):
Excellent? Excellent?
Speaker 17 (30:27):
Well question for you, Robin.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
Oh.
Speaker 14 (30:31):
Yes, did Corey get any help from anyone?
Speaker 6 (30:36):
Everyone?
Speaker 14 (30:37):
In my love?
Speaker 1 (30:37):
I'm sorry to say he could not pull this together
without the help of an entire team, even more people
than help Kip with.
Speaker 11 (30:44):
His You see, if you're that bad at something, people
come to your rest.
Speaker 4 (30:53):
We'll see you tonight, Mackenzie.
Speaker 16 (30:55):
Here to that.
Speaker 4 (30:56):
Are you a CA Pop Demon Hunters fan?
Speaker 17 (30:59):
You like I haven't watched it?
Speaker 4 (31:01):
You haven't seen it yet? Okay, to make.
Speaker 17 (31:03):
Sure I'm the party.
Speaker 13 (31:05):
Bye.
Speaker 17 (31:06):
Macarina and Ganging star.
Speaker 2 (31:10):
Locked in and Ron Now with CoreOS podcast.
Speaker 4 (31:17):
Now.
Speaker 5 (31:17):
Yesterday, Cory, you were at at the Bronx Club for
like a tab event, the betting party and it was.
Speaker 11 (31:23):
It was about promoting their new what is it these
screens and whatnot. But they had Simon Black and I
there to talk about sports and and the you know,
the finals games coming up, so uh yeah, and when
when they you know, they announce you up Simon Black
and Cory Oates.
Speaker 5 (31:42):
Yeah. So Simon's obviously Brisbane Lines great, thank you, yep, yep.
And they bring out so what are the stats they
gave because we're doing back to back and I had
that wall.
Speaker 11 (31:51):
And it was Simon's name, Simon Black, and then my
name is underneath his. Let's just say he took up
ninety percent of the war.
Speaker 14 (31:58):
And this is what I had.
Speaker 11 (32:00):
Three times AFL Premiership Player one O two three, Brownelai
Medalist oh two, Norm Smith Medalist three three times All
Australian one O two four, three times Murray Medal over
one two six, Herald Sun Player of the Year, Brisbane
Lines Captain oh seven to eight, the Marcus Ashcroft Medal, Australian.
Speaker 4 (32:22):
Hall of Famer, queens Land Hall of Fame.
Speaker 8 (32:25):
In Britain Lines Hall of Fame.
Speaker 4 (32:26):
Yeah, pretty good.
Speaker 7 (32:27):
That's a st a bad list and he's a really
lovely ga great.
Speaker 8 (32:31):
Guy, really good fella.
Speaker 5 (32:32):
And and then it had all the mice stats yeap,
and which I'm going to go through. And unfortunately they
didn't have career highlights section for you on wikipaa.
Speaker 4 (32:41):
So I had to use AFI.
Speaker 8 (32:42):
It's unfortunate, but.
Speaker 4 (32:44):
There's stuff, is there. He scored one hundred high high
try scoring record.
Speaker 5 (32:48):
He scored one hundred and twenty one tries for the Broncos,
placing him third on the clubs all times try scoring list.
Speaker 10 (32:53):
Yes.
Speaker 5 (32:54):
Then he played nine State of Origin matches, participating in
their twenty sixteen, twenty seventeen, twenty twenty two.
Speaker 4 (33:00):
Victories, three three shields. There you go?
Speaker 9 (33:04):
Is that it?
Speaker 4 (33:04):
He made his nrl DA boo thirteen.
Speaker 8 (33:08):
No, hang on.
Speaker 5 (33:09):
He was part of the twenty fifteen Grand Final team
for the Broncos that lost.
Speaker 4 (33:13):
How'd you go on that one? It lost?
Speaker 17 (33:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (33:15):
Did you play an any part in that?
Speaker 9 (33:20):
Is that?
Speaker 7 (33:21):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (33:22):
Okay?
Speaker 6 (33:22):
How sorry?
Speaker 4 (33:23):
Sorry?
Speaker 6 (33:23):
Sorry sorry? But for those who don't know what happened
at fifteen?
Speaker 8 (33:28):
Yeah, in that one, well, I'm just tackling we lost.
They didn't put that up there.
Speaker 4 (33:33):
They didn't say that.
Speaker 5 (33:35):
They said that you made the squad for the Kangaroos
in twenty sixteen.
Speaker 4 (33:39):
Yeah, but.
Speaker 8 (33:40):
There's a train on squad.
Speaker 11 (33:42):
Yeah, I didn't even get picked to the actual squad.
Speaker 4 (33:44):
And then it goes on to your retirement.
Speaker 5 (33:49):
His greatest taighlighting on the radio.
Speaker 4 (33:52):
There's a lot about the radio now, Yeah.
Speaker 8 (33:54):
But I asked you some serious questions too. Yes, it's
about nerves.
Speaker 11 (33:58):
I'm back to back to back, yep, and yeah it
was pretty interesting actually, yeah.
Speaker 16 (34:03):
I mean our experience is a beautiful thing, right, and
you know what it's like obviously's well and the fact
I've been there last year. You know, there's a few
guys on that side that they haven't been the experience,
the cauldron of one hundred thousand and them in the
atmosphere of Grand Final, but larger they have, so I
think they'll handle it really well. Geelong a very very
experienced side as well, So it was a little bit
(34:24):
like Collin would know.
Speaker 14 (34:25):
Three.
Speaker 16 (34:25):
We played them the first week of the finals. I see,
we lost to them and ended up having to get
them in the last in the Grand Finals. So similar
situation here, and you learn through your losses. Our boys
were pretty ordinary there three weeks ago against you Long,
so I reckon they rectify some of that parts of
their game and I'll give them a pretty good shot,
a good shot.
Speaker 8 (34:42):
They're really excited.
Speaker 16 (34:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (34:43):
Then I went right, how do we win it?
Speaker 8 (34:46):
And who's your pick for the normal smith?
Speaker 16 (34:48):
I reckon the midfield. You know, I might be byas
been an old midfield but we're down there in midfield
last time three weeks ago, so they need to lift
in that area. The defensive pressure was down as well,
so there's a couple of things that need to improve.
But my old back say, Zach Bailey to win it all.
Speaker 4 (35:04):
Yes, that was a good tip. Yeah, so there's a
bit of confidence there.
Speaker 11 (35:09):
Yeah, yeah, really confident and through the middle because it's
whether he reckons.
Speaker 8 (35:13):
We lost it yes, in the first in the game
a few.
Speaker 4 (35:16):
Weeks ago against Geelong.
Speaker 11 (35:17):
So if they can pick it up and Zach Bailey
will be one of those guys, excellent.
Speaker 4 (35:22):
Very nice.
Speaker 7 (35:22):
We'll take that.
Speaker 2 (35:25):
Nowis the podcast Robin's.
Speaker 1 (35:35):
If you've been watching the Telly or in fact looking
at your own feeds, you may well have seen that
Snoop Dogg has landed in Australia. He is here for
the halftime entertainment at the AFL Grand Final.
Speaker 6 (35:48):
Actually it's not even halftime. He kicks it off open
the show opening.
Speaker 1 (35:51):
The game starts at two thirty. Of course it is
the Geelong Cats versus the Brisbane Lines.
Speaker 4 (35:56):
Come on, lies, I know, come on.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
But after he landed in Melbourne, he was taken to
the MCG and was met by AFL brothers Nick and
Josh Decos Yes sorry from Colin Would, who then gave
him a Sharon football and said, let us show you
how to kick it now. I don't know if he
had some practice goes before the camera's role.
Speaker 5 (36:21):
I know I kept trying to find like if someone
else like kicked it and that was a different ball,
because he struck it so well.
Speaker 1 (36:27):
He did too and he got it through both times.
This isn't the greatest audio, but have a listen.
Speaker 4 (36:36):
You also realize how tall he is next to the
Dekos brothers. He's like a full foot tall of them.
Speaker 8 (36:48):
I don't think they're only okay, but he looks.
Speaker 6 (36:53):
Like he is pretty tall.
Speaker 1 (36:56):
He's also costing the MCG a fair bit of money
or the a f L because he's requested that his
stage be set up so he can do a full rehearsal,
which doesn't usually happen. So anyone near Melbourne over the
next couple of days may get a free Snoop Dogg
if they're hanging out outside.
Speaker 4 (37:13):
Now we're torn on that. We're divided on this, Corey.
I think Snoop's a good call, but you're not. You know,
you reckon it might not be.
Speaker 11 (37:18):
I just don't I don't know how it'll be like
for all the younger generational kids at Love AFL.
Speaker 2 (37:24):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (37:24):
He's too old. Maybe well how old is he? Snoop
fifty three?
Speaker 5 (37:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (37:28):
Okay, okay, now I was going to I still think
he's cool, but yeah, he probably put on a good show.
Speaker 8 (37:35):
Wouldn't do a good show?
Speaker 4 (37:36):
Isn't he?
Speaker 6 (37:36):
He the Menulorge guy?
Speaker 1 (37:38):
Like, isn't he part of Like he's got kind of
pop culture Implicationeah, I'm biased.
Speaker 4 (37:43):
Yeah, you don't like that is always better.
Speaker 5 (37:45):
We've got Teddy Swimms for the NRL Grand Final in
a couple of weeks.
Speaker 4 (37:48):
The Big News.
Speaker 1 (37:49):
Yesterday with Jimmy Kimmel is back this afternoon Our Time
on his late show after ABC Disney did a backflip. Now,
this is what his dear friend Stephen Colbert had to
say on his show last night.
Speaker 6 (38:02):
About Jimmy's return.
Speaker 15 (38:04):
It's always nice to start the show with some good news. Well,
just a few hours before we keep this broad asked,
we got word that our long national late nightmare is
over because Disney announced that Jimmy Kimmel Alive will return.
Speaker 4 (38:20):
You see tomorrow Thursdaylight come on.
Speaker 1 (38:26):
The world will be watching to see how he addresses
the fact that he has taken off the air for
a week and just how much he's been gagged, because
all Disney ABC will say is that they've been in
discussions all week.
Speaker 7 (38:40):
And the other thing that's really interesting about this, there
are two.
Speaker 1 (38:42):
One is that a lot of the affiliate stations around
the country have said that they won't be taking the
Kimmel Show back. Oh wow, it's all over the controversy.
He made some comments around the Charlie Kirk death that
had him taken off air straight away.
Speaker 7 (38:57):
So I guess the more conservative states interesting.
Speaker 4 (39:00):
I'm interested, but conspiracy theory.
Speaker 5 (39:02):
Yeah, it doesn't win the ratings in its time slot,
but I bet you it will this time around.
Speaker 8 (39:08):
Yeah, everyone watching it.
Speaker 4 (39:11):
By canceling him, you've actually they've actually made it bigger
than ever.
Speaker 1 (39:13):
Except do you want to know how much money Disney
has lost in the last week, having taken Kimmel off.
Speaker 7 (39:20):
The air, go on, take a wild and crazy.
Speaker 1 (39:24):
Guess now, it's not because of him, it's because people
have lost confidence in the Disney Company, and there was
this huge push to not subscribe to.
Speaker 8 (39:34):
Disney, to go crazy.
Speaker 4 (39:36):
Fifty million, Yeah, I was going to say, a hundred
million is that too much?
Speaker 7 (39:40):
Five billion, three dollars?
Speaker 2 (39:43):
Wow?
Speaker 7 (39:44):
Wow, that's it.
Speaker 1 (39:47):
And it's as I said, it's not even about Kimmel,
it's about the reactiveness of what.
Speaker 6 (39:52):
Has gone on. Yes to a two point three one
percent of their stocks.
Speaker 7 (39:57):
Have lost in the last five days, and that's a
billion to five with a.
Speaker 4 (40:01):
Bee Okay, what are they worth? I think my theory
is wrong.
Speaker 3 (40:08):
There my conc we can roll without growing and the
kids now with CoreOS the podcast
