disgusting story, which.
Speaker 5 (00:31):
May actually be a fault of yours because you're checking

Speaker 4 (00:38):
That may actually prove to be a.
Speaker 5 (00:43):
Hindrance to you because now your stomach's full, so there's
a lot of content in there. Okay, and that may
come up.
Speaker 4 (00:49):
Okay, let's just do it. Let's just rip it off
like a band aid.

Might have finished one.
Speaker 4 (01:09):
Robin's not with us today, So Corey's in to do
some heavy lifting home mate.
Speaker 6 (01:12):
Yeah, that's their big shoes to feel they are.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
Did you know we were going to have guests in
because we've got the whole thing from m D.
Speaker 6 (01:18):
Put some clothes on.
Speaker 4 (01:19):
Yeah, you've gone sleeveless. Do you have shirts with sleeves?
Speaker 6 (01:22):
Yea suns out.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
Okay, so the guns are fair enough. How's how's the
off season?
Speaker 7 (01:29):
Are you?
Speaker 4 (01:29):
Are you full off season?
Speaker 8 (01:30):
And good?
Speaker 9 (01:31):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (01:31):
Good?
Speaker 4 (01:32):
Nice? You padded the tom Are you.
Speaker 6 (01:35):
Can't stop eating?
Speaker 4 (01:36):
Are your wheels off? Is it wheels off?
Speaker 6 (01:38):
But I just I can't stop eating. I don't know
if I get bort to eat.
Speaker 4 (01:42):
You know how they say, what's a what's a man
supposed to have two thousand calories a day.
Speaker 6 (01:46):
Or about eight?
Speaker 4 (01:47):
Do you reckon?
Speaker 10 (01:48):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (01:49):
I remember Darius. It was massive in his like food
in that calorie yeah, yes, and he got me to
great do it one day and I said, mate, I
don't think this is working for me. I do like
two thousand and breakfast.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
You're just off the scale.
Speaker 6 (02:03):
I'm way too much. Apparently.
Speaker 4 (02:04):
Actually, let's get that to let's get to that in
a minute. That we'll we'll do our health chat because
I'm trying to get fit for Christmas. But the big
news is Michael McGuire, the Blues coach, is now being named.
It's official. I saw him this morning on the Today
Show in a Bronco shirt. He is the new Broncos coach.
This is just a little bit of Michael McGuire.
Speaker 11 (02:23):
One thing about the seven is at all like to
create something great wherever he said I go.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
He's done a great opportunity here at the broadcast to
be able to do that. What do you know about him?
Speaker 7 (02:35):
Have you met him?
Speaker 6 (02:37):
I probably would have over the years, but I've just
heard things, I guess, and obviously from Reno from when
he was at South right because.
Speaker 4 (02:45):
He was a coach of House and South to a premiership.
Speaker 6 (02:49):
Yeah, and they were a competitive team for good four
or five years.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
Out so that he was there around I think it
was two thousand to seventeen years.
Speaker 6 (03:00):
Yeah, but he's.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
Been at the Tigers and the Tiger He went to
the Tigers after that and they had four horrible years.
I think he had something like a thirty six win
loss rates.
Speaker 6 (03:10):
So I think it was a tough rosterday. That's I
feel like with us, he's coming into a really good roster.
Speaker 5 (03:16):
Yep.
Speaker 6 (03:17):
I feel like he can probably just give us that
little bit more of an edge of I guess what
what the boys are looking for? Your hard ass, That's
what I've heard, Yeah, and that's that's probably what they
need with you know, the year that we've had, you know,
the age average that we have. It's it's a pretty
young team. And what he'd done with that team, you know,
(03:39):
it's our I think our team can do that or
if not better, you know, and I've said that along
the last six months that we have an incredible side.
You just got to get him to play, you know,
to that elite level every week and no one'll be
able to go with them. So and and I reckon
(04:00):
he can see that.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
So excited.
Speaker 6 (04:02):
Yeah, I'm just really excited to just you know, see
what you know he can bring that he took to
that Souse team and you know, like you said, between
twelve and seventeen when he was there, because you know,
Reno can't speak whild enough of him of those years,
but you know he was tough. So I think that's
going to be the battle for those young kids.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
You told us last week that you hadn't heard when
Kevy was getting dropped, that you no one got any
text messages, no one knew that it was coming. What
about this? Did anyone did anyone contact you? You have
you spoken?
Speaker 6 (04:34):
Yeah? Well, Reno put a text message in the in
the group chat Reno.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
By the way, for those that don't follow Adams Adam
Reynolds the Yeah Broncos.
Speaker 6 (04:47):
But he was pretty vocal with the with the club
and the and the I'm saying that the boys were
pretty disappointed. So right, you know, he said, I feel
like the communication needs to be a lot better. And
they were really good with this. They let the boys know,
filled in with what was going on, and you know,
before anything came out.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
So and your close mates with Reno, he's probably the
closest mate of the team. I know you're talking about mates.
So him having been coached by Maguire then so he's excited.
Speaker 6 (05:16):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, well, you know you have to be
excited with with who's coming in. You know, you're disappointed
and sad about what's happened. You know, things change so
quickly in our game, and and yeah, the boy's got
able to realize that. You know, they have a new
coach and you know things are going to be different.
So they just got to jump on board.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
Yeah, okay, all right, sounds good, so good, so good,
good science for next year. Then we're confident you're going
to change anything.
Speaker 6 (05:40):
For you No, okay, nothing, watch this space, then this
space will continue to watch. It's it's small.
Speaker 8 (05:51):
The Robin and Chip podcast.
Speaker 4 (05:56):
Coreots is with us in the studio. It's Robin and
Kip because I am getting fit. I'm getting in a
training season.
Speaker 8 (06:01):
It's kIPS Fit for Christmas.
Speaker 4 (06:05):
With our special thanks to arnld Swartz and Negga given
to the ups and downs on So Corey, you before
we were saying, you know the season is over for
you. You padded your stomach. So are you allowed to normally
sort of go off a bit during during off season
and just eat whatever you want?
Speaker 6 (06:25):
Yeah? You can. But for me, if I did that,
I'd just put on weight so easy. But then I
can lose it.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
Yeah, you can lose it fast.
Speaker 6 (06:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
Tell tell us what happened yesterday when Scott our producer
called called to tell you that we're going to talk
about fitness on the show. What were you doing at
the time.
Speaker 6 (06:41):
At the time, I just finished a very busy day.
Never got to eat lunch, yes, and I had to
fill the car up. And while I went and paid
for the car, I thought, I grab a packet of
peanut M and MS. So you ate it and what
I would have eaten that within about five minutes, describe
the packet starving.
Speaker 4 (06:58):
How big is a packet snack bag? Are you showing
like that's a five hundred grand bag?
Speaker 6 (07:05):
Wasn't that big?
Speaker 4 (07:05):
A big, like a family sized packet? One under that okay,
larger than a snack side, still a lot and you
just smashed that. That was a snack just Peanu.
Speaker 6 (07:14):
I was talking to me, was talking about health, and
I was smacking Producer Scott.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
There was a lot of chat about golf yesterday.
Speaker 5 (07:21):
Bro, Yeah, well that's busy day.
Speaker 6 (07:26):
People come over the house. I was working, and then
my daughter was crook how to go to the doctors?
Speaker 5 (07:31):
Did you or did you not play golf yesterday?
Speaker 6 (07:33):
I played two holes to three holes. It's for video
content charity golf day.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
And then you smashed a bag and then I had
to go big.
Speaker 6 (07:41):
Up parks in there. That smack a bag?
Speaker 4 (07:43):
And I think if I ate your diet, I would
be the size of a house. Because so, how much
exercise do you do? Like, okay, let's talk about in season,
not necessarily now, how many days a week would you train?
Speaker 6 (07:55):
In season? We do two big sessions, so okay, be
between five and seven five and seven k kilometers? Yeah,
I like, okay, you know, like you speed like running?
Speaker 4 (08:06):
And how long. How long would a session be a
big session and a half hour and a half Okay,
that's doable.
Speaker 6 (08:12):
It's not too but there's a lot of sprints in between,
like play your players and then you'd have a break
and then probably an hour two hours later you do
your gym for an hour.
Speaker 4 (08:21):
Okay, so training training, but.
Speaker 6 (08:23):
I'd get there and i'd do like plarties in the
morning and stuff.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
Pilarates.
Speaker 6 (08:26):
Yeah, so before is that what I love?
Speaker 4 (08:29):
Do you recommend is massive?
Speaker 9 (08:32):
Why?
Speaker 6 (08:32):
Because it's I don't know, it's just you know, it
shows you don't have to lift big weights, you know,
to actually to get a good work out and to
feel good about yourself. If you did three days of
plarties a week, you know, at a party studio, yeah
and forty, you would, I reckon, that's the key. It's
great for alright, yeah, and you know and other things
(08:55):
you know on the other days. But I love parties.
Parties is really really good.
Speaker 4 (09:00):
I'm surprised by that. All right, Well we've got let's
talk more about this because we've got nine weeks to
try and get myself in shape.
Speaker 6 (09:07):
But I'm trying to get you onto a session.
Speaker 4 (09:09):
Who do you do a session with her my brother
in law. Oh really? Yeah? Okay, all right? He is
he fits over there? Does he fit as well?
Speaker 10 (09:19):
Is he?
Speaker 4 (09:19):
Are you two going to smash me finish?
Speaker 12 (09:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (09:21):
Okay, but he Moore tells me what to do, okay,
al right, watching things?
Speaker 4 (09:25):
Yeah, okay, all right, I'm down for that.
Speaker 6 (09:27):
Say he could do all the exercises, but okay, all right,
let's it'll be interesting.
Speaker 4 (09:31):
All right, let's let's talk more about that. We'll give
you all the day that there will be videos to follow,
no doubt.
Speaker 8 (09:38):
Wake up with Robin and Kid.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
All right, Robin and Kid in the morning.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
Ask a lawyer, So, Luke, what's your question for our lawyer?
Speaker 9 (09:52):
Mate? I've got a order in proof, so I haven't
seen in Auricon thirteen and a half years. I recently
hired a private investigator after talking to you guys, to
find out where she was and what was going on.
And I now have her contact details and know where
my daughter is and where she goes to school and
that sort of stuff. Am I allowed to go and
make contact with her? Or am I going to end
(10:13):
up in a world of hur There's no court orders,
there's nothing in place, and obviously I want her to
know that I'm alive and and to actually meet her dad,
remember who her dad is?
Speaker 3 (10:29):
Can we ask what happened.
Speaker 9 (10:33):
When my daughter was like when my partner at that
point was pregnant, I worked extra hours because I did.
The relationship went pretty dad in the end, and she
got into online gaming and met a guy that lived
in Perth. And I came home one day and my
daughter was six weeks old and she was gone, and
(10:55):
everything was gone. I did try for a number of
years to go through family court, but that gets really expensive,
really fast, and that ended up taking a huge toll
on me personally, and I had to as bad as
it sounds, I myself needed to. I couldn't continue.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
So your daughter was six weeks old, that was a
low weeks old. And that's the last time you saw her?
Speaker 3 (11:24):
Yes, what's your relationship with your ex?
Speaker 9 (11:27):
Like, I haven't seen her since then either, So you've.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
Had no contact whatsoever?
Speaker 9 (11:32):
No, not through lack of trying.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
So you have numbers and stuff for her, but she's
not replying to you.
Speaker 9 (11:38):
Well I haven't. I haven't. Last time I had numbers
for her, I rang her and they moved house and
all the numbers got changed.
Speaker 6 (11:46):
I've done anything to do with you, does she Well.
Speaker 9 (11:49):
I don't mind if my ex doesn't want anything to
do with me, but my daughter surely has the right
to know that I exist. Yeah, and that she's got
a sister that she could probably meet.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
I guess there's the legal question of do you.
Speaker 9 (12:02):
Have a right to Yeah? How much will I get
in trouble if I do?
Speaker 4 (12:07):
If you just turned up? Because so you know where
she goes to school.
Speaker 9 (12:11):
I know where she goes to school, or I know
her I know her home address.
Speaker 5 (12:14):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (12:15):
So as far as this girl, as far as your
daughter's concerned, she might think whoever the new partner is
is just her biological father. Is that possible?
Speaker 9 (12:22):
Yeah, yes, it's extremely possible. Well, I just want the
chance to go say hey, this is me, I'm your dad.
If she wants to have a conversation, I'm happy to
sit down and have a chat. If she looks at
me and tells me to walk away, I've done what
I can.
Speaker 3 (12:37):
But you are you are detonating a bomb like there
is you know, the capacity for her at fourteen to
even know this is coming is pretty It's pretty big,
and it will open up a whole different world for
her because you don't know how much she knows.
Speaker 9 (12:55):
How long am I mental? Wait?
Speaker 3 (12:57):
No, mate, it's such a big moral wander. There's no
right in this, absolutely not.
Speaker 4 (13:04):
And how do you know that the person who's playing
the role of her father is a good man?
Speaker 3 (13:07):
You don't know that?
Speaker 13 (13:09):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (13:09):
Yeah, yeah? The question ke long do you wait?
Speaker 10 (13:13):
Do?
Speaker 9 (13:13):
I wait? And two she's eighteen nineteen? Then comes in,
why didn't you try and find me?
Speaker 3 (13:18):
Yeah? Right, that's hard, mate, that is so hard, and
like even I'm just in my head, I'm going, Okay,
how else could you do it? If you know where
a school is, you could write or a letter get
dropped a letter to the school. I mean, there's that
sort of stuff. But you'd have to prove that you're
the father, the biological father.
Speaker 9 (13:35):
And I've got her certificate. I'm on a verse certificate
and I've got all that sort of stuff, So I've
got okay.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
And you know she hasn't changed the name or anything.
Speaker 9 (13:44):
Yeah, I know, so I know exact. Yeah, she's still
got the fame name.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
Okay, wow, mate, there is so much to unpack here,
But let us answer that legal question for you. Forget
the moral one for a second. You want to know
if you were to approach this for ten year old girl,
would you get into trouble if you went up to
and said, Hi, I'm your dad.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
Okay, let's ask our lawyer next. Okay, Luke, we have
Brett Trafford from RMO Law in the studio with us.
He heard a bit of your story off air. But
if you could just retell your question or re ask
your question to Brett.
Speaker 9 (14:17):
I've got a daughter in Perch, so I haven't seen
in I reckon thirteen and a half years. I recently
hired a private investigator to find out where she was
and what was going on. And I never have her
contact details and know where my daughter is and where
she goes to school and that.
Speaker 10 (14:32):
Sort of stuff.
Speaker 9 (14:32):
If I jumped on a plane and went the purse
and walked up to her and introduced myself, am I
going to get in trouble?
Speaker 14 (14:38):
Well?
Speaker 15 (14:39):
I don't know why you get in trouble. If you
were to do that, it's not an offense, it's not
illegal to do that. But I think the real issue
is what might the consequences of that be.
Speaker 7 (14:50):
Yeah, I don't know what.
Speaker 15 (14:53):
Your daughter has heard about you, she may have been
led to believe all sorts of things. And you can
imagine that a thirteen and fourteen year old girl if
a strange man walks up to her one day out
of the blue and says, hi, I'm your father, that
could that could send her into a jail spinner And
I have no idea, so that might not be a
(15:16):
wise thing to do, Luke.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
What about if you have that information, what about going
and knocking on the door to talk to the mother
and then see, like, give the mother a chance to
tell her daughter.
Speaker 9 (15:30):
I'm worried about the confrontation when we separated for about
six months beforehand. It wasn't really nice. There was a
bit of domestic violence, like coming towards me.
Speaker 4 (15:43):
So you were you were attacked?
Speaker 9 (15:46):
Yeah, yeah. She obviously wasn't happy in the relationship, and
we were very well. We're both young, and I'm not
saying it was malicious and I'm not saying and it's bad,
but we were both young and there was a conversation
we probably both could have had, but I was too
busy working like silly hours trying to set up for
(16:06):
the family, and she wasn't happy, and it was probably
something that we could have sorted it with the conversation
at that point, but neither of us were probably mature
enough at that age to have that conversation.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
Where does Luke stand legally in terms of knocking on
her door? Is he allowed to do that?
Speaker 15 (16:21):
Yeah, he's allowed to do that, and.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
That's not trespassing or there couldn't be.
Speaker 15 (16:25):
If somebody asks you to leave, then you've got to go.
If you don't leave, it is arguably trespassing. Probably the
thing to do, I'd suggest would be to write a
letter and invite your ex to contact you with a
proposal for how she thinks that your daughter ought to
get to know you again.
Speaker 6 (16:45):
Yeah, correct me.
Speaker 15 (16:46):
If you don't know Luke, whether or not your daughter's
even aware of you.
Speaker 9 (16:50):
No, I wouldn't have a quote.
Speaker 15 (16:52):
She might have been told that somebody else is her father.
You need more information before you can decide what to do.
But it would be a good idea for you to
write to your ex in a letter that you're happy
to have a peer on the front page of the newspaper,
so put anything in there that might be extaged and say, look,
I'd really like to get to know my daughter, would
(17:15):
you please let me know your proposal for that, give
the mother a chance to communicate, to respond in some way.
If you didn't get a response from that, you'd follow
it up with another letter saying, listen, we invite you
to come to mediation to discuss this and try and
reach an agreement about it rather than filing proceedings in court.
(17:39):
But of course in the background, what you're not saying
is listen, if we can't reach this out between us,
we will file an application. We will serve you with
an application for parenting orders and take it from there.
But start out with an amenable, friendly, friendly sort of
letter inviting them to say, let's reach an agreement about this.
Speaker 4 (17:58):
That's supposed to start ye.
Speaker 15 (18:00):
If you like, Look, I'd like to have a chat
with you later on. We can we can talk about
a few options and maybe come up with a letter
fairly quickly that can go out within the next week
or so yet, just to get to get get the
ball rolling, so to speak, and see what sort of
a response we get.
Speaker 3 (18:18):
Legal letterhead that they could do the trick.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
My friend, that's great, Brett, thank you.
Speaker 3 (18:24):
Let us know how you go and and let's hope
fingers crossed you get a really good outcome with this one.
Speaker 9 (18:29):
Hey, yep, thank you.
Speaker 16 (18:32):
The Robin and Chip podcast, we had the King Wally
Lewis on the phone with us morning.
Speaker 10 (18:48):
Why, good morning mate.
Speaker 4 (18:50):
How are you excellent? Excellent mate? Coming up to Grand
Final weekend, it's a great feeling. I don't know about you,
but we just had Coreotsy in with US's predicting a
Storm victory as am I. What are your thoughts for
the weekend?
Speaker 10 (19:04):
Yeah, Well, I'm a bit of a chronic Melbourne Storm fan,
has been for years, so I'm very hopeful that they're
going to be able to win it. And things just
don't seem to be going all that comfortably in the
Panthers way.
Speaker 5 (19:17):
So a couple of.
Speaker 10 (19:18):
Injuries hanging around. Yeah, okay, hopefully the Melbourne Storm. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:23):
Is it just because they've got so many Queenslanders in
the team? Do you reckon?
Speaker 5 (19:26):
That's?
Speaker 4 (19:26):
Is that why you like them?
Speaker 10 (19:29):
It might be something yeah to all the maron.
Speaker 6 (19:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:34):
Now, speaking of having Queenslanders in the team, what are
your thoughts on the new Broncos coach Michael Maguire being
the He was the Blues coach just this year. Devastated
Queensland so now he's going to be the Broncos coach.
What are your thoughts on match?
Speaker 10 (19:49):
Yeah, well he's got a pretty good record. I mean,
I'm sure we'll all get together and have a little
bit of a bit of a meeting about accepting a
cockerroach fair Land, Yes, and getting to promise that he's
going to be helping Queenslanders out, not worrying about the
new South. Well, he's got a pretty good record as
(20:12):
a coach. He's a very determined bloke. He's got quite
a temper which inspires the players at the right time,
and certainly that's going to be good news, I think
for the Broncos, although there's still plenty of people a
little bit upset about Kevy's departure, and I think that
(20:33):
it'll only take a number of wins for him to
get on board with the Queensland fans.
Speaker 4 (20:40):
You're right, he's going to need to win though, isn't it.
Like I feel like if we start a bad season
next year, he's going to be under pressure, like nobody's business.
Speaker 10 (20:48):
Yeah, he's certainly going to feel it. And I don't
think we've heard too much about players whether there will
be a same sort of team taking to the field
each and every week, whether he's got plans to bring
any new stars to the place. So it will be
quite quite a move for him, and he's going to
be under enormous pressure, but I think having handled it
(21:11):
before at the highest level, he'll adjust to it. And
he's one of those guys.
Speaker 9 (21:17):
He loves to show emotion.
Speaker 10 (21:19):
We've seen him in the coach's box on different occasions
absolutely cracking and snapping and on another occasion celebrating throughout
the course of the match. So the one thing that
he's not missing is experience. So I think we can
feel they're quite comfortable about it, but I suggest that
he may be feeling nerves. In his first couple of games.
Speaker 4 (21:41):
For Prison and your mates with Kevy, you play with him,
how's he feeling? Because everyone was pretty sad, not necessarily
not just as losing the Broncos coach, but just as
a person, because Kevy does seem like a lovely bloke
and so how's he feeling at the moment?
Speaker 9 (21:58):
Do you know?
Speaker 10 (22:00):
Well, I guess only Kevy can can tell that, and
having seen him and listen to his to his comments
so far, he's basically, you know, just saying that he
enjoyed his time at the at the Bocos. I'm sure
he's he's disappointed as all of his all of his friends,
his mates that he played with, the players that played
(22:23):
under him, surely feel quite uncomfortable. But he's a realist
and he knows that when you're in this game, you've
got to produce your best on every occasion and if
it's not judged to be good enough for the club,
they simply move you on.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
It.
Speaker 10 (22:44):
He's a guy that's loved being successful in every everything
he does in rugby league, and I'm sure there's this
hurting him bad. What's he going to do from here? Well,
I really don't know, but I suggest that you know
he won't be in the pencil through the game of
rugby league. He'll still be there and have something to.
Speaker 9 (23:06):
Do with it.
Speaker 10 (23:06):
Perhaps Origin football will come around again.
Speaker 9 (23:08):
Forget me.
Speaker 4 (23:09):
You don't think that'd make him the Blues coach to here,
no doubt.
Speaker 10 (23:13):
Well, if he's the Blues coach, I'm going to tell
him get out of this state heavy You're not welcome.
Speaker 4 (23:19):
Exactly, get out of the joint now for AFL in Melbourne,
they get the day before the Grand Final the AFL
Grand Final is a public holiday for us. We get
the day after the Grand Final, which is this coming Monday.
But there is talk, Wally, and I know that you've
heard about it, that we should forego, which you're allowed
to do at your workplace. You go, no, I don't
want to take that public holiday. You can forego Monday
(23:41):
and instead people should take off the King's Birthday, which
is your birthday instead. What are your thoughts on this, Wally?
Speaker 10 (23:51):
Interesting. I know I'm going to cop a spray from
plenty of plenty of my mates and the suggestions that
will come up. But on the first of December, we're
going to have a number of the sports picture venues
transformed into King's Birthday party venues and more that everybody
certainly may not be wishing me all the best for
(24:12):
that day. I'm sure it's going to be high value entertainment.
There'll be plenty of going going along. There has been
a little bit of discussion Mate though that Charles and
Camilla a snubby Queensland on their visits. So this is
our celebration, our party.
Speaker 4 (24:26):
I love it. I love it. So the first of
December is the King's Birthday. If you want to turn
down Monday, take the first of December off instead. So
I mean, ideally would get both of them, but if
you've got to choose one, we're suggesting choose the King's
birthday and we'll see you in all the coverage on
Channel nine and nine now on Sunday, kicking off five
thirty Sunday afternoon for the NRL Grand Final. Thanks for
(24:48):
joining us, King, Thanks Cap.
Speaker 10 (24:50):
Good on you mate.
Speaker 8 (24:52):
You're listening to the Robin and Kif podcast.
Speaker 4 (24:56):
Halfway through the podcast, okay, Scotty, I mean, how gross
is it? A disgusting story of yours.
Speaker 5 (25:07):
I almost vomited while it was happening, so and you
just I thought I'd take the opportunity. Robin's away. She's
not feeling well.
Speaker 4 (25:16):
No, she's actually throwing up legit for other reasons, so.
Speaker 5 (25:19):
I thought I might just even the playing field a
little bit. You've just e full stomach of egg ready
to go.
Speaker 4 (25:27):
When we were my wife and.
Speaker 5 (25:28):
I were picking up our kids from daycare a couple
of days ago, as the kids were getting into the car.
I don't know if your daycare does this. They've got
like fruit on the way out. You can grab an
apple or a banana.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
They used to have that. It's gone now interesting did
your fees get cheaper? No?
Speaker 4 (25:44):
No, they did.
Speaker 5 (25:45):
Interesting. So, as we're walking down, kids were much in away.
My oldest had an apple, my youngest had a banana.
As we were strapping the youngest into his car seat,
he started choking a little bit on the banana, and
now terrifying. Terrifying. But the body has a few different
ways of how it deals with clearing blockages, and my
(26:11):
two year old son's body decided the easiest and quickest
way to clear the blockage was projectile vomit while he
was strapped into his car seat.
Speaker 4 (26:23):
This isn't the yeah, no, this.
Speaker 5 (26:25):
Is in the back of my wife's guard little we
little Honda cr VHV or something. It was so strong
that the piece of banana hit the head rest of
the passengers seat, followed quickly by a monstrous amount of
child vomit. Now, you know those horror movies where they're
doing the priest is in there doing the getting the
(26:48):
like an exorcism there and their headspins.
Speaker 4 (26:50):
Around and their vomiting.
Speaker 5 (26:52):
There was I cannot tell you how much vomit there
was all down the back of the car all on
the in the foot well, and we didn't because we
were just we swung in to pick them up. On
the way home. We didn't have any wipes. Oh man,
we didn't have any changes of.
Speaker 4 (27:09):
Clothes, weren't ready. The smell of that car on.
Speaker 3 (27:12):
The way home, I was so fed. It was my
wipe's car.
Speaker 4 (27:16):
Yeah. Oh that's disgusting. You know, whether you know when
you buy a car, When you buy a car and
they put on it, they say like it's been a
non smoker's car. They should say, no kids. This cars
had no kid. If a car that's had no kids,
that it would be worth almost twice as much. Internally
my car, I've always had pristine cars that kept them
(27:37):
so clean. Inside. My car now is feral. It looks
like somewhere, it looks like a war zone. Inside there's
just I don't even know what's in their food. Wise,
it's disgusting. I got in your car yesterday.
Speaker 5 (27:48):
I do you dropped me somewhere, and as I was
walking to your car, I said to you, oh my gosh,
your car is so sparkly, it's so clean.
Speaker 4 (27:56):
And then I got inside the car and I thought,
oh my god, so embarrassing.
Speaker 5 (28:00):
In a war zone.
Speaker 4 (28:01):
Yeah, it's like the floor of the movies.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
It's disgusting.
Speaker 5 (28:04):
How does Graffie get the rubbish into the front seat?
Speaker 4 (28:08):
How? Why is it on the dash? That's a great question.
Why are there in the air conditioning? It's just awful.
There's nothing you can do as well. Yeah, what do
they give us back?
Speaker 9 (28:20):
Scotty?
Speaker 4 (28:21):
What are they? What do we get back?
Speaker 8 (28:22):
Kids?
Speaker 3 (28:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (28:25):
Anyone, Ruth, I'm looking at you.
Speaker 3 (28:27):
You got to Why do we get paralleled joy? Unparalleled?
See how there was no joy in one scared loud joy.
Speaker 4 (28:35):
No, I'm not buying it. I've got it.
Speaker 8 (28:42):
One person. You got a dog your ass when you're eighty.
Speaker 4 (28:47):
Yeah, okay, it's going to come back till then they will.
They will do the care when we're old a longer.
Not going to put me home.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
It's long yours will put you in a home, but
the others will be fine.
Speaker 5 (28:59):
If I'm in a keeps in home.
Speaker 6 (29:01):
That's true.
Speaker 2 (29:01):
Yeah, you're listening to the Robin and Kim podcast.
Speaker 4 (29:11):
Now, this is a great free festival. The Groundwater Country
Music Festival is back on the Gold Coast from the
eighteenth to the twentieth of October. Featuring a ton of
great Australian acts, some other international country arts, and our
very own Shannon No.
Speaker 3 (29:25):
Now nlsy you're a bit of an Aussie legend Alarican,
which is kind of being going to be a good
thing because Kip Whitman.
Speaker 4 (29:31):
Look look before, Shannon, Before before, I need to tell
you two things before I play this, Shannon. First of all,
Queensland Health, who you probably wouldn't be aware, but Queensland
Health have been using songs up here and they tweet
them out with different lyrics to try and get important
health messages across with a bit of fun. Oh and
so I sort of then fleshed them out and actually
(29:53):
made them into proper songs some of their things. So
that's the first thing you need to know. The second
thing you need is that they're very interested and teaching
the kids that have got schoolies coming up that sexually
transmitted diseases are still a thing and you still need
to be careful and still need to wear condoms. The
third thing you need to know. The thing you need
(30:16):
to know is that is that you started it by
changing your own song for the Channel seven promotion. What
about seeds Yes, So.
Speaker 8 (30:31):
In that in that vein.
Speaker 4 (30:34):
This is what I've put together four Queensland Health and
then new promotion about teaching kids about venereal disease. This
is what about VD.
Speaker 11 (30:43):
There's a little boil hardened down the crevice of your underpants.
Speaker 4 (30:49):
It's been itching.
Speaker 11 (30:50):
Down there, itchin afid. It never seems like it is
going to her stun it gets.
Speaker 7 (30:57):
Spread around all of tell if only you are a
condom instead?
Speaker 8 (31:05):
What about fee D?
Speaker 4 (31:08):
It isn't fair.
Speaker 17 (31:10):
I got enough and there's more to share.
Speaker 13 (31:13):
You can't always see he when it's lingering there, and you.
Speaker 18 (31:18):
Can't always cure it with the creed.
Speaker 4 (31:24):
What about v D? Oh pull y.
Speaker 12 (31:30):
Oh, No, you can.
Speaker 9 (31:31):
Don't set him free.
Speaker 4 (31:33):
Don't set him free.
Speaker 17 (31:35):
I'm gonna.
Speaker 4 (31:37):
I'm gonna add it to it. I'm gonna We're gonna
make a change.
Speaker 7 (31:42):
Nosey wants to add don't set it free.
Speaker 3 (31:48):
I think he braves can't.
Speaker 4 (31:51):
That's why we love it definitely.
Speaker 10 (31:55):
Like, have you listening, I'm up for this challenge.
Speaker 4 (32:03):
It's all about it. It's all about it. If you
want to see Nailsey as part of the Groundwater Country
music festivals back on the Gold Coast from eighteenth to
the twentieth of October and the twentieth anniversary of the
platinum selling. That's what I'm talking about as a thirty
track double CD, which is out right now. Thank you
so much for joining us, NALSY.
Speaker 10 (32:19):
Get on your guys, Thanks so much and really looking
forward to ground Water.
Speaker 9 (32:22):
I have to see you guys there.
Speaker 8 (32:23):
Cheers, mate, Wake up with Robin and Kit.
Speaker 4 (32:30):
We like to do this nice and early before the
little kids get in the car because for Queensland Health
they've been promoting the fact that schoolies is coming up
and sexually transmitted disease is still a thing, even though
it has been out of the headlines lately. So to
try and help it put it back in the headlines,
I did a song parody of a Shannonole song. We
showed it to Shannon Nole and he very graciously laughed
(32:51):
out loud at what about VD, but then requested one change.
He said it should have the words don't set it free.
So I give you now the Shannon Knole endorsed improved inversion.
Speaker 11 (33:03):
Now there's a little boil hiding down the crevice of
your underpants. It's been itching down there, itch and a
half a day.
Speaker 4 (33:13):
It never seems like it is going to her stop.
Speaker 11 (33:16):
It gets spread around all over town.
Speaker 7 (33:21):
If only you were a condom instead. What about v D?
Speaker 17 (33:28):
It isn't fair. I got enough and there's more to share.
Speaker 13 (33:33):
You can't always see he when it's lingering there, and you.
Speaker 18 (33:38):
Can't always cure it with the cream.
Speaker 11 (33:44):
Don't set it free?
Speaker 17 (33:48):
What about v D?
Speaker 4 (33:56):
Standing ovation from the producers? Thank you, but we can't
hear you.
Speaker 8 (33:58):
But the Robin and Jit podcast.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
Our next guest is an optivist turned author and critical thinker.
Speaker 7 (34:11):
You might know her from this.
Speaker 4 (34:12):
It's the twenty twenty one Australian of the Year.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
He's Grace Tamed and now she's taking her message around
the country with lightning the load with Grace Tame an
evening of laughter, looking back and a head to the future. Today,
Robin and Kit welcome Grace Tame.
Speaker 4 (34:31):
Hi Hi.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
They talk me about it being an evening of laughter
and looking back on surviving the public eye ahead of
the future. What can we actually expect from you?
Speaker 4 (34:41):
What are you going to do?
Speaker 6 (34:42):
Ah?
Speaker 14 (34:42):
Some brutal honesty, that's my trademark. I think I will
be looking back at the very unique experience of being
not just thrust really I was chocked from obscurity into
the spotlight and for a very unusual reason. And what
(35:03):
it's been like finding a pathway forward through that you.
Speaker 4 (35:06):
Mentioned, like being being chucked into the spotlight with us,
and it's it is in share and that that underbelly
of child sex offenders. You imagine that the the fact
that people don't want to talk about it, it just
plays into their game, right, because the fact of the
matter is is that it's so reprehensible for most people.
You go, oh, I can't even talk about it. But
(35:28):
and then and so it needs somebody to be a
poster girl or a post a boy, and you don't
want to be obviously.
Speaker 12 (35:34):
No, I think it doesn't just require a poster girl
or posted boy. It requires a poster community. And that's
what I'm about, encouraging as many people as possible. And
really it requires everyone, and it requires a whole society
to take up dismantle or to take up the responsibility.
You know, bystanders are as much responsible for tackling this
(35:56):
issue as victim survivors. It shouldn't just rest on our
shoulders too to protect children from really one of the
most famous acts out there.
Speaker 3 (36:03):
But Grace you became Australian of the Year in twenty
twenty one. When you reflect back on that, are you
glad you became the Australian of the Year because there
was as many, probably even more downsides than there were up.
Speaker 14 (36:15):
Oh look, I don't know. I don't like to marinate
on the what is.
Speaker 12 (36:20):
We still have a lot of work to do.
Speaker 14 (36:22):
For example, eighty percent of all child sexual abuse cases
are actually incest and that's a taboo within the taboo
that we still really don't want to talk about. I mean,
we've done a lot to rate institutions over hot coals,
as we rightly should, and you know, we've put particular
institutions on blasts like the Catholic Church and you know,
Scouts and other sporting institutions and schools and out of
(36:45):
home care and things like that. But really the crux
of this is interfamilial child sexual abuse, and most incidents
of child sexual abuse are happening between the ages of
three and eight. Yeah, on the other side of things,
you know, if we're talking about my own personal experience,
it was difficult.
Speaker 3 (37:04):
And hence why I say, mate, and I think all
of everything you've just said is imperative but how do
you make that lightheart?
Speaker 4 (37:12):
Yes, it's a good question.
Speaker 14 (37:14):
Well, I have a very bleak sense of humor.
Speaker 4 (37:18):
I'm really taken by the challenge that you put out
a few minutes ago, where you said it shouldn't be
up to the child, the child victim of child abuse
to fight this fight. It should be those around them. Man,
you're so My goodness, it's so true. Like when you
when you say it like that, you're like, how do
you leave it to a five year old to deal
with it? It's not for them, it's for us. We've
got to fix it.
Speaker 14 (37:36):
Yeah, oh yeah, a child should not be responsible for
the safety. My goodness.
Speaker 4 (37:40):
No, there's the.
Speaker 14 (37:41):
Reason why they can't drive a car. Yeah, the reason why,
you know.
Speaker 4 (37:45):
And you being a victim and standing up and fighting
this fight. You know, not everyone has to agree with
the way you've done it all the way along, and
that doesn't matter because you fight for the.
Speaker 14 (37:53):
You agree with the way that I've done it all
the way along. I look back on I look back
on some of the things that I've done, as you know,
when we think about it. I was twenty six years
old when when I was awarded Australian of the year,
and you know I was very young and in many
ways very naive, and still am. I'm not even thirty
years old yet. Of course I'm going to make mistakes.
You know, I've still got many mistakes in my past.
You know that I should be entitled to make.
Speaker 4 (38:14):
We all do. Yeah, yeah, I can see how You're
going to have a laugh on this night. Okay, I'm
talking to you. Lightning the load with grace, tame and
evening of laughter, looking back on surviving the public eye,
and ahead to the future, all the best. It's on Saturday,
fifth of October the Brisbane Powerhouse.
Speaker 3 (38:31):
Grab your tickets quickly because I reckon this one. I'll
sell out. Grace, thank you so much.
Speaker 14 (38:36):
Thank you. Better be there or I'll shame you.
Speaker 3 (38:39):
I will be there.
Speaker 8 (38:40):
No, you're listening to the Robin and Kid podcast. Just
turn it on. All of your free complay tickets are
on tears.
Speaker 4 (38:57):
A whole row of tickets to see Coldplay when they
perform in Sydney. They're not coming to Brisbane week and
fly down there and give you a row of tickets.
Lornelle out of redmen Bay, Hailenelle. Hi, how you doing
very good? So what's your Coldplay story. Who would you
be taking to this row?
Speaker 17 (39:14):
I would take my husband and my kids. My kids
love Coldplay, but they've never been to a concept Oh cool?
Speaker 4 (39:19):
Sor right? So how old are the kids? Nine eight
and seven? Wow?
Speaker 9 (39:24):
All right?
Speaker 4 (39:24):
So full family affair nine eight and seven and they
love Coldplay?
Speaker 11 (39:29):
Yeah yeah, because of the movie sing Sing?
Speaker 4 (39:32):
Okay is there? What's the big Coldplay song? And sing?
Speaker 14 (39:35):
Johnny does a song on there?
Speaker 9 (39:37):
But sky full of Stars.
Speaker 10 (39:39):
As their favorite?
Speaker 4 (39:40):
Oh yeah, oh okay?
Speaker 5 (39:41):
Cool?
Speaker 4 (39:42):
Are they in the car with you by any chance?
Speaker 9 (39:44):
No, that's cool already.
Speaker 4 (39:46):
So if I was to play your bit of sky
Full of Stars, you'd have to sing that by yourself, Lonel.
Speaker 14 (39:50):
Yeah, I'll give it a cry?
Speaker 7 (39:51):
Okay, can you do that?
Speaker 4 (39:59):
Then?
Speaker 5 (40:00):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (40:00):
Such a heavenly view.
Speaker 4 (40:05):
That's pretty good. That's pretty good. That's that's christ and falsetto.
So you went there and you did it, Well done, Landelle,
Thank you all right? So you're in the running. Hopefully
this afternoon Will and Woody will be phoning you up
to let you know that you've won a row of
tickets to see Coldplay. That would be amazing. Only now
plenty more chances coming up throughout the day as well
as Robin and Kip Kiss. He is ninety seven to three.
Speaker 8 (40:29):
The Robin and Jit Podcast.
Speaker 4 (40:34):
Shannon Nole, who continues to be a top bloke. When
we had Shannon Nole on very early in the show
to talk about a song and he he took it
so graciously that we changed the words to his song
what about Me to turn it into a health awareness
song for Queensland Health what about VD? And not only
(40:56):
not only did he endorse the song, but he actually said,
look what about bakes? You need to add the words
don't set it free? So I've done that just for Shannon.
Speaker 8 (41:04):
No.
Speaker 11 (41:06):
Now there's a little boil hiding down the crevice of
your underpants. It's been itching down there, itch and a
half a day.
Speaker 4 (41:16):
It never seems like it is going to her stuff.
Speaker 11 (41:19):
It gets spread around all over town.
Speaker 7 (41:23):
If only you were a condom instead. What about v D?
Speaker 17 (41:31):
It isn't fair. I got enough and there's more to share.
Speaker 13 (41:36):
You can't always see he when it's lingering there, and you.
Speaker 18 (41:40):
Can always cure it with the creem don't set it free?
Speaker 17 (41:51):
What about v D?
Speaker 4 (41:59):
From the production to Tryumph, Thanks to Try, Thank you
very much.
Speaker 6 (42:04):
I've got goose bum.
Speaker 4 (42:05):
Yeah, Okay, I have other sorts of bum. Okay, okay,
that's enough. This is why we don't let the production
team speak on air that often.
Speaker 8 (42:14):
The Robin and Chit podcast
