Speaker 4 (00:35):
It's Robin and Kiff Now Choreo. It's on demand the
podcast half time.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
We're going to talks more about Robin's renovations home renovations
because this is always you know, a lot of people
do it at least once in their life.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
I will never do it again. They always say that
it is not something I enjoy. If I found it
so stressful, there has been I have my girlfriend come
up from Adelaide and she flips houses for a living,
so she's taken the line share of the decision making.
But you know, I reflect back and I think there's
some mistakes I made and you may change.
Speaker 4 (01:07):
Yeah, that's some things are.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
So like then see them all the time.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
Yes, my sister is a what is she know something?
She basically flips places on the Sunshine Coast. People pay
her error design and they go and they choose they
and but they get the trade's and everything to do
at all. And she gave me one piece of advice
which I'll give you after I hear about your wives.
Speaker 4 (01:32):
I think it's quite helpful.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
Okay, now with the podcast, speaking of Easy Brisbane, I mean,
what about what about the Broncos on the weekend?
Speaker 4 (01:45):
Just so good?
Speaker 1 (01:47):
The women and the men.
Speaker 5 (01:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
Actually, here's the the final moments from the from the
Women's Grand Final countdown.
Speaker 6 (01:53):
Is either the broadcast about the rugby League, the Broncos
nrl W premiers for the fourth time.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
Fourth time there's only been like eight seasons or something.
That's just unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
What about the end a brawl was a.
Speaker 4 (02:10):
Punch on I know.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
Girls, the girl they do it was such.
Speaker 4 (02:22):
Yeah, it's all the the but yeah, they you can't punch.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Like seeing it.
Speaker 7 (02:30):
But in the professional stage, in the Grand Final, your adults, look,
it's a battle.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
And at the end of the battle they got into it.
Speaker 4 (02:41):
It was interesting.
Speaker 8 (02:41):
I didn't seeing it. I'm gonna say, I'm gonna be honest.
I actually enjoyed it.
Speaker 4 (02:45):
And about I'm gonna say, fifteen seconds after it they
were all hugging. Yes, that's really interesting that though.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
That's exactly what I mean. It's just get it out.
I can't fight, so I wasn't in there. But I'm just.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Saying it's a good question though, Cory, you're retired at
the beginning of this year and the Broncos have gone
on to win, like and you were there, How did
that feel?
Speaker 8 (03:06):
It was just it was a relief because I think
has been so many chances, so many years where you know,
we could have done it, Like, there has been so
many opportunities, you know, even after fifteen, we probably had
four years where we well, honestly we probably should have
won one.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
Twenty twenty three for sure.
Speaker 8 (03:23):
Yeah, twenty three we lost the unlosable, you know, Like
I just think you know, for the players too, like
they've those six years, they went through so much. And
there was one boy in the name of Reecee Walsh,
who I believe you know, went through a fair bit
in the last few years. And the performance he played
(03:44):
in that win, have.
Speaker 4 (03:46):
You ever seen anything like it? Have you ever seen
one player dominate like that?
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Yeah, the last four weeks and just him.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
Did you see what the storm coach said? Bellamy said
when he was asked about Reee Walsh and he said
what could you have done? And he like, I think
it was a sentence and he went, well, how about
try and tackle him?
Speaker 8 (04:06):
It's just so funny you know, the whole team played
so good, and I think that just shows how much
better while she is and can be. Like everyone played
great because they stop Melbourn Stortrom scoring all these points.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
You know, but while she's just that good of a player, Yeah,
he still stood out.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
Here's the moment's the final second.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
It's all over.
Speaker 9 (04:30):
It's not nineteen yearss up back on top.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Of the world.
Speaker 4 (04:38):
And there's some And speaking of Reese Walsh.
Speaker 9 (04:41):
And whilst comes round page race while she has a liquid,
he's the most powerful player on the field.
Speaker 10 (04:51):
Just a little at Reese while she goes from the
right to the left.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
And just explodes.
Speaker 4 (04:56):
His solo try was just he was so strong, I think.
Speaker 8 (05:00):
But he shows you what speed can do. Speed's power
in that game. In our game, speed is power like
he and and he's electric.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
He is so quick off the mask.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
But how cool is your little mate, captain?
Speaker 4 (05:14):
Yeah, yeah, he got pulled off.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
What happened to him?
Speaker 4 (05:18):
Taken off the field?
Speaker 3 (05:19):
Yes, it was an interesting this is this is the
moment where yeah, he went to have a bit of
a sprint and then realized he didn't have it. I
mistake this time from a thirty five year old coats
it is who cleans up.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
He's got his hands up in the air. He's just
signaled to the bench. Here's the kick and he tried
to sprint. He knows there's a problem.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
What the.
Speaker 4 (05:47):
Look at this? And this is terrible Adam Reynolds being
carried Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
I don't know what it's like.
Speaker 8 (05:54):
He's kicked the ball and then got on the sprint
and then obviously he tore his calf.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
I thought he got carried off because he did his acl.
Speaker 4 (06:03):
Or his Hammies, because he's had handy from both Hammies
this year.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
But all is hurt. The old baby cow.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
The car.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
He's I mean they mentioned it there in commentary. He's
thirty five, he just got a premiership. He's got one
with South's as well. It's one of the few players
to do it with two clubs, is it not? Is
it time to retire?
Speaker 4 (06:21):
You reckon like a hang up and go out on
this high? I would, Yeah, you don't reckon?
Speaker 2 (06:28):
He will?
Speaker 1 (06:30):
Okay, why not? You're one of his best mates?
Speaker 4 (06:32):
Why not.
Speaker 10 (06:35):
You are?
Speaker 8 (06:37):
He not that no one loves the game when you
play it, but he lives and breathes and he's going
to be in the in the game forever.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
So I think.
Speaker 8 (06:48):
Playing coaching, coaching, he's going to be there for a
long long time.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
But yeah, the playing days. I don't know why, but yeah,
I don't.
Speaker 8 (06:58):
I know he won't he won't retire.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Now, I did lose a bet and I had to
listen to the Hi Taylor Swift album, which I did.
On the work side, I was installing insulation in my.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
High ars, sweating. Oh my goodness was hot yesterday because
you have to wear full, full sleeves and everything for
that job.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
I could just walking past. That's hearing hearing Taylor Swift.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
Anyone else passed you?
Speaker 4 (07:30):
Thankfully? No, And it's not that long an album. Actually,
it was really interesting.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
It was like I was up a ladder when the
album ended and it skipped to another track, and that
was the first time actually that I went I like
this one.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
And then I realized that the album was over. It
just moved on to either songs on my phone.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
Okay, you are being rude, don't you know that this
album has been much anticipated.
Speaker 4 (07:52):
The Life of a show Girl is the name of
Taylor's new album.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
In fact, the Fate of Ophelia track one has broken
the record becomes the most streamed song in a single
day on Spotify.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
So you added to that, well done?
Speaker 4 (08:06):
Yes, I added to it. I was part of the problem.
That's true. There's a look my first listen, it's not great.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
What are you insane?
Speaker 4 (08:18):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (08:19):
Is this the first Taylor Swift album you've ever listened to?
Speaker 4 (08:21):
Start to finish?
Speaker 5 (08:22):
It is?
Speaker 2 (08:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (08:23):
And I will say I had another.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
Listen on the way in the car this morning, just
to sort of and there are songs that, okay, better
second time around. There's a lot of there's a lot
of Taylor's sort of Travis Kelce loves songs. What wish
list I think is basically just a love song to.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
Kels I just want you thank right, So that's a
love song, okay. And then then she gets a little
bit racy. She gets a little bit racy with a
(08:58):
song called Wood and it starts off with like a
Jackson five lick. Here we go. It's got a lot
of nostalgic sort of it. But then there's a bit
and I swear I was up a ladder and I
was like, did she just say thighs or eyes? I
couldn't work out because she talks I'll see if you
can hear it in this line it sounds and.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
His love was the key that.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
She does. She says that and then.
Speaker 4 (09:33):
But she doesn't double down, so you go, did I
hear it? And then she goes back to eyes.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
She all of this was completely censored in like the
movie thing that because the whole album was on cin cinemas.
But yeah, she has gone pg raunch. I would say
it's lyrics every rift everywhere is g yeah, right, sentenced together. No,
it's not.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
You know what I mean? Yes, ye, Now that's also
a This is actually this is what I reckon.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
We'll be the next single. I actually quite like this.
This is this one's called canceled.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
I think it's that's gonna she was getting canceled.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
It was about Blake Live.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
She likes her friends canceled. Oh yes, I was waiting.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
For that song. All of that stuff's happened since this
album has been put out.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
And there is one there's one duo on the album
featuring Sabrina Carpenter.
Speaker 11 (10:30):
This film.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
To their Sabrina and So, and she's in the title track,
which is Life of a show Girl. Thank You for
the Lovely Book.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
It's okay. Alna is mouthing the word.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Lyrics. This is gonna be a song.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
I like this song too, this is my favorite.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
Okay, how did you do this?
Speaker 4 (11:07):
This was not.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
Rock up and say maybe you.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
Everything all right?
Speaker 1 (11:14):
Feel overall thoughts, overall thought ding.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
Don't just look at me and say it's.
Speaker 4 (11:23):
That's hard, it's it's not great. Yes, it's you. But
look there's a couple of hits on there, and then
there's a couple of a couple of just solid filler,
you know. Lyrically, she comes up with some good ideas.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
Only the greatest global phenomena known to man and woman.
She's come up. Kip doesn't want the Swifties to come for.
Speaker 4 (11:51):
Him being very delicate, So I'll give it a five
out of ten as a past.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
Rob.
Speaker 11 (11:59):
Now with the podcast, we Robin, Kip and Corey ots
the thirty second throwdown.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
So Robin we'll get thirty seconds, Corey, we'll get thirty seconds.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
And the statement today they're debating Teddy Swims was better.
Speaker 4 (12:26):
Than Snoop Dog.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
Let's refresh your memory because this was Snoop at the
AFL Grand Final last weekend.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
He's still one in double tea.
Speaker 5 (12:39):
You know what.
Speaker 4 (12:44):
Makes some guys, and this was Teddy Swims on Sunday
at the NRL.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
Here's movie by was Dancing.
Speaker 4 (13:00):
Was a good song.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
I'll just give you a little statfou hang on, you
got a wait? That is that el?
Speaker 4 (13:15):
No stats yet? Okay, So Teddy Swims was better than
Snoop Dogg. Corey is the affirmative. Does that mean you
go first to the affirmative? Okay? All right, so I
got thirty Yeah, you've got to go first in your
thirty seconds? Corey, you're thirty seconds? Do I have Do
I have any audio you need me to play?
Speaker 2 (13:32):
Aning?
Speaker 8 (13:32):
No?
Speaker 3 (13:32):
No?
Speaker 2 (13:33):
Okay, just if I say help, can I just start singing?
Speaker 1 (13:36):
A Corey has pieces of paper.
Speaker 4 (13:42):
System. Okay, here go your thirty second Storio starts now.
Speaker 8 (13:45):
At least Tennis Swims actually moved around the stage and
perform like he's paid to do.
Speaker 7 (13:50):
Also, he didn't need to get other things that come
in there and help him sound good, just saying all
that sturf dog this is he just he just started
online wars. When Teddy Swims he got the crowd involved.
Speaker 8 (14:03):
He was actually moving around the state, wasn't popping up
and there singing nineties classics. Get asked the two thousands, right,
and also if you if you had some stats, you
know you know the song he played Bad Dreams two
billion streams.
Speaker 4 (14:18):
I'm glad you said that. Okay, all right, Robin Vailey
your thirty seconds. Teddy swims better than Snoop DOGG starts now,
no way.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
Teddy sang no doubt, he sang well. But Snoop owned
the MCG and turned it into a block party with dancers, drummers,
visual smoke lasers. Teddy were a kilt and had a
spot white. Let's talk cool and respect. Snoop has tattoos
of Kobe Bryant and his wife on his body. Teddy
has a tattoo of a band aid.
Speaker 4 (14:48):
On his head.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
Yes, Teddy sang ac DC is a nod to Australia,
but Snoop did one better. He brought out Australia's sweetheart,
Jess malboys.
Speaker 6 (14:59):
Boys thirty seconds.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
And final time.
Speaker 4 (15:09):
Is that that's a good one? What mel boy?
Speaker 1 (15:13):
You didn't even bring up basing DC.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
No I had audio audio for it?
Speaker 2 (15:18):
Did tell me that? That's what I'm saying. Do you
want me to play the audio to help you?
Speaker 10 (15:22):
Man?
Speaker 2 (15:23):
All right?
Speaker 4 (15:24):
Who won thirty one six five second.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
You don't tell me I had audio.
Speaker 4 (15:28):
I had this dang then I went last, But I
don't think you won the five find out thirty one
O sixty five.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
Row.
Speaker 4 (15:43):
Now the podcast Katie did the AFL Grand Final last year.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
It was Snoop Dogg this time around, and he was
the topic of our thirty seconds throw down this morning.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
Teddy Swims was better than Snoop Dogg. Thirty seconds is
what they had on the clock for for Robin and
Corey to give.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
Us the So that's that's that's a striking.
Speaker 8 (16:07):
You think there's a strike, that strike against can't go
over thirty seconds.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
Okay, so we heard the debate.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
This is just just to refresh your memories for those
that missed it. This was a little bit of Snoop
at the AFL Grand Final last week.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
Down you still want and this bit of Teddy Swims suck.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
So that's Australian whatever it's called. I don't know what
that is.
Speaker 3 (16:38):
So who won that thirty second throwdown? Tracy out of Flagstone.
Now you didn't see either of the performances live trace.
Speaker 10 (16:46):
No, I didn't. I didn't watch it.
Speaker 12 (16:48):
But Robin one hands down?
Speaker 5 (16:50):
Why what she was like so on task what she.
Speaker 10 (16:55):
Was arguing for, where mister Corey was like the bubbling professor.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
That picture of I'm a bit like I got vocal.
Speaker 4 (17:09):
One point for robinsh at Mount Grave Good morning?
Speaker 2 (17:14):
Who won that?
Speaker 4 (17:14):
Do you think?
Speaker 5 (17:16):
Dan Cory? First of all, Robin, we're not discussing Jessica
Melbour with discussing you so much. We're discussing that person
who's not even singing. He's just standing there talking and
God knows what he was saying, true, true, true, way
for the Voice of the Century. Teddy Swims un believable Corey.
(17:38):
I don't even watch football, but I was just hanging
out for his performance.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Someone cruelly said on social media, I saw yesterday that
Teddy swims with the timu of post Melon.
Speaker 4 (17:53):
I've seen that a little fellow with all the brook
Brooke out of Deception Bay. All right, decide a book?
Who won it?
Speaker 5 (18:01):
Snope?
Speaker 9 (18:01):
Dog?
Speaker 5 (18:03):
Robin warmert come on? Why the ogg at the MCG
was totally surreal.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
When we when were you born? I just want to
ask for ask question?
Speaker 10 (18:13):
Is that?
Speaker 5 (18:14):
Okay Brisbane?
Speaker 12 (18:16):
I waited all weeks to see that performances the best.
Speaker 4 (18:22):
I'm interested not interesting.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
You're saying this.
Speaker 4 (18:28):
This did come down through on the text line as well.
I don't want to do to the words, but said
Corgy One's hands down. So I don't know if that's
I don't know if that's a vote that's Snoop Dogg
because it's a corky, or if it's for choreo. So
we're just I think I think Robin one now halfway
(18:51):
through the podcast, So how long have you been doing
this renovation.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
For It's literally been about three months from what.
Speaker 4 (18:58):
Actually, that's pretty good, not too bad. I going to say, yeah,
you've got a lot done.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Yeah, that's not terrible.
Speaker 1 (19:04):
And it's because I have a friend who is great
at this and she's been doing it and I chose
to live through, which I think possibly was a mistake.
I live in a very small house in Paddington, so
if there were trades people around, yeah, you know, really impact.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
Yeah, if there was to me in there, I reckon.
Speaker 8 (19:20):
I had butt heads with the other guy and we'd
end up breaking stuff because it's not built.
Speaker 4 (19:25):
For a lot of walks.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
And there are things like you know, we had the
big blowout of the bathroom floor twenty five thousand, dollars
that I just did not anticipate.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
You can we now that fallings right, you can have
a bar.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
But the thing is, I look at it and I go,
it looks no different from when we started, except now
that the floors not is not rotten.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
Yeah, sand tiles.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
No, we I did some different tois, but it still
looks like it doesn't. I haven't renovated a bathroom. I
just had to save my bathroom myself.
Speaker 4 (20:00):
So you said, there's a couple of things that you regret. Yeah,
you get wrong.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
Sliding doors, Yeah, because it's a small Queenslander, and it did.
It was two rooms, like a dining and lounge, which
were tiny rooms. I took out the wall and opened
it right out. But the sliding doors, the constantina doors,
we opened out onto the deck. Yes, and I actually
wished we'd open them into the house.
Speaker 4 (20:23):
Because they take up space out there, and also because of.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
Where the television is.
Speaker 4 (20:27):
Yes, I can't.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
I can only open them halfway or else you've got
a freaking big door. But if I'd opened them on
the inside, would I have been able to put a
small dining table.
Speaker 4 (20:37):
Maybe not right, because it would have would.
Speaker 8 (20:40):
The table cavity sliders to go on the wall. Yeah,
there's a little thicker wall, but then it hides. It
didn't go then all the way flush. We didn't, I know,
but there it's it's more expensive, but then when you
look back. Yeah, that was one thing that I learned
from other people doing things.
Speaker 4 (20:59):
Yeah, it's just like a pocket door.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
So they're called cavity slider.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
Sliders are like for internal doors, which she's talking about
the glass, one for outside, Yeah, talking about the glass.
Speaker 4 (21:09):
Yeah, don't they call it a pocket door when it becomes.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
Mine of my big doors going to the outdoor.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
This is what happens when they start talking as they bicker.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
And it goes into its own pocket. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
And the other one is that I have because I've
got it's on pill like it's a Queenslander. It's on posts,
like what do you call them?
Speaker 4 (21:35):
Yeah, post post home.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
And there's so many of them that the garage door
and the garage space is very limited because otherwise I'd
have to remove posts and that was stupidly expensive. And
so to be able to let my car in. The
actual roof is on a on a different like it's
not on a complete angle. So it's like that because
(21:59):
it's enabled more size on one side, but it looks wet,
it looks like it looks that it's so if I've
done it as a normal peak with both sides the same,
I wouldn't have been able to utilize the extra land
that would have allowed my car to get in. Does
that make sense?
Speaker 3 (22:18):
Yeah, But visually I'm drunk, Yeah, yes, Yeah, I've got
scalen roof skillion skillion skill.
Speaker 4 (22:29):
Yeah, yeah, it's yeah, I don't know. Yeah, I've got
a light switch to my house that I put on
the wrong side.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
It bothers me so much every because they're all on
that on the left side, so you reach in and
then there's just one switches on the right and you
go in that I think there's a cavity door, so
you couldn't have it on that side, and so it's
so annoying though. But anyway, the advice that my sister
gave me, yeah, go on, because she does this all
the time, and she said, you've got to accept that
there's going to be ten percent you're going to make.
(23:00):
You're going to make ten percent mistakes, and you've got
and you've got to live with that and and know
that you did ninety percent. Right, Yeah, that's true, and
you just go and when there's that thing and even
they would annoyed, you just go, that's in the ten percent,
and you just got to let it go.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
And then I'm also kind of I'm proud of the
fact that I did lots of secondhand stuff that I utilized,
like in terms of buying furniture and stuff. I didn't
buy new furniture. I went on marketplace, like I really
stuck to my ethos of trying to not only save
money but also just like more environmental stuff and making it.
So I'm kind of proud of those things.
Speaker 4 (23:35):
But yeah, it's still because I will.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
Get rid of the the that couch that you brought
from Aladdin.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
Back in the day, that's when it started. Actually I
made I doubled my money on that in a week,
did you. I bought it one hundred and sold it
for eight hundreds.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
I'm glad.
Speaker 1 (23:59):
Yeah, that was that was not a good so it
looked like it was Sachi cout.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
It did not sit in a one hundred.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
And twenty year old Queensland.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
Aladdin.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
The mistakes you make, right, but if you do it
a marketplace, you go, yeah, do you know that couch.
It was a three huge, three seed couch. A woman
came and picked it up in a Toyota Corolla and
it hung out the back.
Speaker 10 (24:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
So this fun story originally owned by a Saudi prince
and now was getting dragged off.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
Now we had last week off and what a week
it was, and away the Lions had a massive win
on the first weekend We're away.
Speaker 4 (24:58):
That was awesome. Yeah, you know, it was even basically
at half time and then they.
Speaker 8 (25:03):
Just just played an incredible game of a f l
I remember a fair bit of it, which is surprising, but.
Speaker 1 (25:11):
Why where did you watch it?
Speaker 2 (25:12):
At the regatta? But like that, that that second half
performance was I just won to remember.
Speaker 8 (25:21):
Everyone talks about Reese Walsh on Sunday, but you can't
take way the Lions performance a week.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
It was only a week and they only had one
week to bask in the glory. And then we've all
moved on to the Broncos glory. The Broncos women. They
had a huge win to start off with. Actually, this
is the this is the final moment of that game.
Speaker 6 (25:39):
Cowtown is either the Broncos top of the rugby league world,
the Broncos NRL w Premiers for the fourth time.
Speaker 3 (25:49):
What else was incredible about that is the Roosters, the
girls they were playing, had won every game of the.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
Season undefeated, and they were winning at halftime too.
Speaker 4 (25:56):
They went twelve in a row. They about to when
their thirteenth, and then the Broncos girls came home.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
And they were the last year's winners too.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
You were there, You were at some not sun cook
down at a core course home Bush. What was going
on like the crowds building? Are you behind the scenes
because you have your big retirement.
Speaker 8 (26:14):
Because I retired after the Grand Final last year, I
wasn't able to be invited to the GF last year,
so they invited me this year. Only a cuple weeks
ago and I'd forgotten about it all and I was gonna.
I was thinking about Aman and Aaron and and then
a few of the boys that I know said they
(26:34):
were gone. So it was actually a really good few days.
And they get you downstairs, get you ready to go in.
You got your big banner behind you, you walk out
on stage.
Speaker 4 (26:45):
Was that a Bronco suit? Was that your suit that
you wore?
Speaker 2 (26:49):
As an mj BA said, have had it to green?
I love Green Tick and pick it. No, I picked it?
Is it right? Everything?
Speaker 8 (26:56):
And I get a chance, I wear as much green
as possible. I even just bought a brand new green wack,
so I love green. And I got the stand up
there with my banner behind me, and yeah, they sort
of just.
Speaker 3 (27:09):
We only got a minute ten seconds of it here,
but this is when when Corey got announced on stage.
And not that it's a competition, but you definitely got
the biggest cheering.
Speaker 1 (27:16):
Bronco's favorite choreo.
Speaker 11 (27:18):
It's also retires as a GRAB one club player and
three times State of Origin champions the Queensland.
Speaker 8 (27:25):
I was actually not surprised, but a little bit of
a shock. You don't really you forget that it's not
a home Grand final, but what.
Speaker 4 (27:33):
Do you reckon? Do you reckon? There were how many
how many questions reckon?
Speaker 2 (27:37):
I'm going to say it was nearly seventy seven weeks. Yeah,
it was incredible. Bridgtin turned out.
Speaker 8 (27:44):
Ah, the booze Melbourne Storm got when they ran out
was so loud.
Speaker 2 (27:49):
It was actually incredible.
Speaker 8 (27:52):
But no, it was a really nice, you know, way
to sort of go there, and they really try and
celebrate your career really well.
Speaker 2 (28:01):
RP and then I'll do it really well.
Speaker 8 (28:03):
So I've got to thank them for all of that
and and congratulate them on a really good setup for.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
The for the four days.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
I was stressed for you because I know that when
there's a lot of things on. Did you actually get
to watch the game?
Speaker 4 (28:17):
Yes, you did.
Speaker 8 (28:18):
We're in it's called the Olympus Suite or something, the
Olympic Suite.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
Andigus could come down with you.
Speaker 2 (28:25):
Yeah, but it's a lot of Reynolds.
Speaker 8 (28:26):
So Adam's wife was a nervous wreck, and I had
to go down there and sit with her and came
and relax the family and that. So because you know,
it just means so much. It means so much to everyone.
But you know, Reno came here with a purpose and
and so she had to go down there.
Speaker 1 (28:44):
And and and I don't think about that she would
be just be besides yea, So it.
Speaker 8 (28:52):
Was great like and then for the boys to win,
you know, it just it just stops off a great week.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
And now then what a time it is to be
a Queenslander. I mean, we had the Lions last weekend,
did the good, did the indeed and did it well?
Speaker 4 (29:13):
I don't know, I didn't say that right, thank you one,
no one solidly. Then then the Broncos women had to win,
and then of course the big Broncos game on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
So did anyone find out if you put a dollar
on at the start of the season for those three
teams to win their Grand Finals, how much would you make?
Speaker 8 (29:31):
Well, the two so the two boys to win was
on sixty one, and I reckon the girls would They
wouldn't have been favorites, so it would have over fifteen
hundred dollars to.
Speaker 4 (29:40):
So if you put a dollar on, you, yeah, you
get fifteen hundred bucks back. And we didn't know.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
Well, the Broncos were way outside the start of the year.
No one thought after last last season, no one thought
they were going to And.
Speaker 8 (29:53):
I said, I am so confident with Madge as a coach,
they are a different team, and they were.
Speaker 2 (29:59):
It showed they were just excellent.
Speaker 4 (30:01):
Recee Walsh, I think, had the game of his life.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
It's very rare for a player with that much hype
to live up to it, and he did, he really did.
Speaker 1 (30:08):
And some Yeah, okay, so you were there because of
course you were being on it and we've spoken about that.
If you want to hear it, go to our podcast.
But coming home, when did the players come back?
Speaker 8 (30:19):
So they flew on that chart They had about five
chartered planes. I think the Bronx and both teams flew
on the same one. They got back about I think midday,
eleven thirty.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
Yeah, Still the timing.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
Do they do the night in home because the stadiums
out in Homebush and for those that don't in Sydney,
it's a long way from the middle of the city.
Speaker 4 (30:39):
Yeah, do they do the night there?
Speaker 2 (30:40):
Oh? Yeah, no, so that they were staying at Brighton.
Speaker 4 (30:44):
But family and where's that? That's yes, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 8 (30:48):
But they were staying out there to be away from
the city, I guess. Okay, and then I think the
after game function was at the Star.
Speaker 4 (30:57):
Back into the city. So that's hours of bus traveling.
Speaker 8 (31:01):
Yeah, when like when you win, you ain't going right,
you just I don't think the boys left the stadium
till three o'clock, two o'clock in the morning. Yeah, I
think they got back to the hotel till about seven.
Speaker 2 (31:13):
So that yeah.
Speaker 4 (31:14):
Wow, So they're all in the sheds just like you
just you just you just celebrate what you've done.
Speaker 1 (31:21):
And their families there.
Speaker 8 (31:24):
The families wouldn't say that long. They'd be there for
an hour or two. But yeah, it's you celebrate and enjoy.
Speaker 2 (31:31):
And just reminisce on what you just did.
Speaker 3 (31:33):
Yeah, so here we are Tuesday morning with there be
players that have been that haven't been home yet.
Speaker 8 (31:38):
You reckon some No, they would probably be three or
they probably would have aimed to have a shower and
get dressed and then go back right looking for.
Speaker 2 (31:49):
Out.
Speaker 4 (31:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (31:50):
It's probably where players get the disgusting name because they're
probably still in their jerseys, right.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
Yeah, this explains a lot about the fact that you
were at the airport and you were chatting to some
of the fellows as that with this is this in Sydney?
Speaker 8 (32:05):
Yes, so this is in Brisbane because I didn't tell
it was so hard to see him and talk, so
I just let him enjoy and I'm like, i'll see.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
Him back in Brisbane.
Speaker 4 (32:14):
So who's on this?
Speaker 2 (32:15):
You got? So I take and I wait for our
bags and the boys came down. I'm like, I'll go
to try and see a few of the boys.
Speaker 8 (32:20):
I haven't seen him yet, and I got Reno Corey
paces jumped in and then I spoke to Benny hunt
at the end.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
What is it better? Then? It's better than coffee with oats?
Happy Now, I'm.
Speaker 4 (32:40):
This is this is Ben Gary Ben, It's Gary graduation.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
That's ahead.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
Benn's voice has just gone over.
Speaker 4 (32:51):
Did he get an elbow or something?
Speaker 2 (32:53):
Yeah, we back now, but he had that back and cushion.
Speaker 1 (32:56):
So is his redemption right? Because fifteen when the Grand Final,
you guys did not have a great time.
Speaker 8 (33:03):
No, it wasn't a good good ending of the game
for us, a lot of us. You know, I used
to blame myself, but Ben hunts On they got the
massive blame. And yeah, know what he went through I
wouldn't be able to explain it because it was just
so bad.
Speaker 2 (33:18):
It was. It was so hard. He left because of it.
Speaker 4 (33:20):
When he dropped he dropped a kickoff with minutes like a.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
Minute to go. No, no, it was in the extra time.
So I went the last trying with about a second ago.
Speaker 4 (33:30):
He got the first kickoff. Did you notice that in
the in the Grand Final they kept him they kicked
and then the second one it yeah, yeah, So it really.
Speaker 1 (33:39):
Was the moment for him to kind of come full
circle ten years later and win.
Speaker 8 (33:44):
It was yeah, and It's I've known been for a
long time and it's one thing I know him. His family,
they've always wanted for him to be able to come back.
Speaker 2 (33:53):
And try and try and mate right of what happened.
So yeah, it was great.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
I think there was that many people that that felt great,
obviously just winning for the Bronx, but for Ben as well,
just to be able to turn it out and have
that redemption game.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
Even when he came back.
Speaker 8 (34:08):
You know, I retired because I I just couldn't go
any any longer. My body was tired, my brain, my
mental state I was I was gone. I was done,
and I wish I was able to do what he'd done.
But when he came back, I said, you could have
came back a bit earlier, you.
Speaker 4 (34:21):
Know, because I just helped you out.
Speaker 2 (34:24):
I just knew that he was going to do what
he could, and and he did.
Speaker 4 (34:29):
We mentioned Reno being thirty five and ended, you know,
playing the injury but not retiring. What about Ben Hunt?
Is this his will he retire?
Speaker 8 (34:36):
You think the old Dazer his nicknames Dozer, he just
go and go and go. Yeah, they both got one
more year left. They're both but they're both beaten they're
both beaten up. They both saw and old.
Speaker 1 (34:52):
But it may not yet be sober.
Speaker 4 (34:54):
Yeah, they're going to.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
Play play.
Speaker 4 (34:59):
Now with Coos the podcast.
Speaker 1 (35:03):
Robin's We have not been together for about ten days,
which means I am sure there is a lot that's
happened in the world of entertainment that you two have
missed out on.
Speaker 4 (35:17):
Yeah, unless it was Snoop Dogg at the AFL. I
saw that yet, No I heard that he was in trouble,
not showing up to a gig who ted Snoop Dogg.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
Snoop was apparently in Sydney. He was supposed to be
at a show at nine o'clock. He wropped up at
one am.
Speaker 4 (35:30):
People that already left. That's not coming mate. You're in Australia.
The kitchen closes at eight, we go to bed.
Speaker 1 (35:37):
So did you not? You must have known what's happened
to Keith Urban and a.
Speaker 4 (35:40):
Kockied I've heard. Yeah, that's real, Yeah, that's real.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
Twenty years of marriage citing irreconcilable differences. Do you know
how long p did? He was sentenced for fifty months
not long enough, four years two months in prison on
two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and find
half a million dollars. He was found not guilty for
the more serious charge including racketeering, conspiracy, and sex trafficking.
Speaker 4 (36:06):
So they got it for transportation.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
Uh huh, I know that's Who is the super Bowl
halftime show headlining acts?
Speaker 4 (36:13):
Oh don't know, not Taylor Swift, bad Bunny? Oh yeah, okay.
Speaker 1 (36:20):
Who has Sydney Sweeney been seen holding hands with, therefore
confirming her relationship appropriate someone that Taylor Swift is not
very happy with? Oh John Mayer, Scooter braun Ah Scooter
and talking of Taylor Swift like the record guy who
(36:41):
sold all her back catalog but not to her life
as a show girl has broken all records. It's sold
two point seven million and twenty four hours, becoming the
second highest weekly sale Telly for any album. Yes, Who's
got number one? Adele's twenty five?
Speaker 2 (36:57):
Wow?
Speaker 4 (36:59):
That's interesting because people aren't buying albums anymore.
Speaker 1 (37:01):
They are if you're Taylor's So where do you buy
an album on Spotify?
Speaker 3 (37:06):
You?
Speaker 1 (37:07):
I guess I did?
Speaker 11 (37:09):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (37:10):
Yeah, you can still buy him?
Speaker 2 (37:12):
Yeah the wait a week and comes free.
Speaker 1 (37:14):
And what is the latest TV show that Robert Irwin
has been linked to. He has not confirmed, but he's
not squashing the room.
Speaker 4 (37:24):
No a reality show the next US Bachelor.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
Now, why this is really interesting is because it looks
like he wants to follow in both his father and
sister's footsteps to get an American sweetheart.
Speaker 2 (37:39):
I don't know how they're going to go.
Speaker 8 (37:40):
Americans listen to a full blown Bogan Ossie on their
TV show.
Speaker 4 (37:46):
He's a bit more polished though than Steve.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
Are you sure?
Speaker 4 (37:49):
I think so, a little bit of polish.
Speaker 1 (37:51):
Don't you think that this is interesting that this family
has a type.
Speaker 4 (37:56):
It's an Australian American duo.
Speaker 1 (37:58):
Always always that weird Chandler Bindy's husband is American. Yeah,
Steve married Terry, who's American, and now he's going on
the Bachelor.
Speaker 3 (38:07):
If your family has a type that I'm trying to
think of, are you forced thirty thirty one oh sixty five?
Is your family always did like you?
Speaker 4 (38:17):
Always? Everyone in our family marries like someone really smart.
Speaker 1 (38:20):
Or a doctor, yeah, or you're in the medical profession.
Speaker 7 (38:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (38:24):
Well, in my case, my boys would do anything other
than be in a relationship anyone that represents me at all,
not at all.
Speaker 4 (38:34):
I only want to date the opposite to mum.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
That's it.
Speaker 4 (38:39):
They all punching, Yeah, is everyone punching above?
Speaker 3 (38:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (38:42):
Everyone?
Speaker 4 (38:42):
All their partners were way hotter than them.
Speaker 3 (38:45):
If your family's got a Type thirteen one oh six five,
we've got fun Lab one hundred and fifty bucks, spend
a fun Labs to give away.
Speaker 4 (38:53):
Now the podcast.
Speaker 3 (38:57):
So it looks like Bob Irwin might be the next
American Bachelor. He's killing it on Dancing with the Stars.
Speaker 1 (39:04):
He's clearly had so much practice behind the scenes. He's
so professional, he's so good from the first go. And
Bindi won it.
Speaker 2 (39:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (39:13):
And I remember years ago going to Australia Zoo and
seeing Bindi, like, you know, as a kid out there
dancing with the elephants, and she had the you know.
Speaker 4 (39:21):
The crocman, the crocman was going to call him the
monkey man.
Speaker 6 (39:25):
It was the.
Speaker 3 (39:26):
Crocman dancing behind her, and Terry was there in the
crowd doing all the moves and like mouthing the words
like she's proper stage mum. So I think the kids
have been dancing for a while, but it looks like
they're all there. You know, Bob's going to follow the
family footsteps and maybe have an American partner.
Speaker 1 (39:42):
Which his dad did. That's what his sister's done.
Speaker 4 (39:45):
My my family type was is to be with someone
that you work with. Well, that was was the tradition.
Mom and dad worked together, my sister and her husband
worked together, my brother and his wife worked together, and
my first wife and I worked together.
Speaker 1 (40:00):
How did that work out?
Speaker 4 (40:01):
It did not work well, we turned out and we
had too much time.
Speaker 2 (40:05):
I think you just go to just I need to
punch above me.
Speaker 4 (40:08):
Wait, well, yeah, so that's that's my new place plan.
Speaker 2 (40:14):
Like you.
Speaker 4 (40:17):
And Frank. Hey, Tracy, that's right, you have you got
a family type.
Speaker 12 (40:27):
I don't know if that's the type.
Speaker 7 (40:28):
But me and my mom and my sister.
Speaker 12 (40:31):
Are all with a guy called David.
Speaker 5 (40:34):
Really we love David.
Speaker 2 (40:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (40:38):
And then there was my partner who I'm now married to.
And then it got really really weird when it came
to my sister because she had a few dud boyfriends along.
Speaker 2 (40:45):
The way, and then she met her Davo And what
are you doing like a like a barbecue?
Speaker 12 (40:52):
Yeah, Christmas is a bit confusing.
Speaker 4 (40:55):
Yeah, everyone's got their own kind of David, Dave and Dave.
I love that your sister just needed to find it.
Speaker 1 (41:05):
David Charlie Capellaba, what's the fair type?
Speaker 10 (41:12):
So my brother we're very close in age, and when
we were growing up, I had a Tahitian Barbie doll
and he used to steal it all the time and
say it was his girlfriend and his kip and stuff.
And then he met his high school sweetheart and she
looks exactly like sent the picture through to your text line.
Speaker 12 (41:32):
So you can compare.
Speaker 10 (41:36):
He looks exactly like the barbie and he is living
his best Barbie.
Speaker 8 (41:39):
Inbod That's crazy, family of logan.
Speaker 2 (41:46):
What's your type?
Speaker 12 (41:48):
My whole family a generational Cougars. My my mom, my
two aunties, and all three of my sisters seemed to
be dating or married to men that are well and
really younger than us.
Speaker 1 (42:03):
Who's got the biggest age gap?
Speaker 12 (42:06):
My nan had by ten years.
Speaker 4 (42:07):
Wow, she was the king of the Cougar queen.
Speaker 12 (42:17):
And Kathy McDowell, Yeah, Hi, listen. I'm a mother of
three boys, and I've always had an expectation of when
they were teenagers, I always told them, for whoever they marry,
they've got to be tall, Catholic and they have a
dead mother.
Speaker 2 (42:33):
What hang on?
Speaker 4 (42:35):
You've got you've got sons, and you want their partners
to be tall, Catholic and have a mum that's passed away.
Speaker 12 (42:44):
Yeah yeah, why well, because first of all, I liked
the kids are tall, they can play basketball, but my
boys are very tall. If they're Catholic, which is what
we are, it just makes things a lot easier. And thirdly,
if their mother's dead or that means they'll need me more.
Speaker 1 (43:05):
Okay, please tell me that none of your children are.
Speaker 2 (43:08):
Doing they've done that.
Speaker 12 (43:10):
Well, yes, my first son got married and his wife
is lovely, but she's on the short side. She's not
really Catholic and she's so tight with her mum.
Speaker 4 (43:25):
You've got a dream.
Speaker 1 (43:26):
It's just not happening.
Speaker 4 (43:30):
Thank you for your honesty.
Speaker 1 (43:33):
We have to reward this week.
Speaker 4 (43:36):
Let's get one hundred and fifty bucks for you to
spend at at Fun Labs Hijinks hotel is where fun
checks in and boredom checks out. You can book now
that one hundred and fifty bucks to spend Kathy, you
well done.
Speaker 12 (43:46):
Oh thank you, oh lovely?
Speaker 2 (43:48):
Yeah no, I don't take that short daughter in law.
Speaker 4 (43:51):
No, Ron again, Now with the podcast,
