about my lit my one year old's first birthday party,
of the gift that you guys gave me, the wonderful gift,
and at halftime, let's talk about other crap gifts.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
Received, crap, what's the point?

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Yes, now with Choreos the podcast Hit This game is Handle.

Speaker 5 (01:06):
It's Cory's Little, Cory's Little made plus all by Construction Pathways.
There's never been a bit of time for a career
in construction such Construction Pathways.

Speaker 6 (01:16):
About a month ago, Corey had a dream. He said,
let's let's bring the fun back for kids in rugby league.
Let's play a game that's just for fun. Yeah, And
we did yes yesterday and it was great.

Speaker 7 (01:27):
And look again, I got to think construction pathways wouldn't
have without them. Folks form origin grades and mean good
mate Jillo. They made it such a you know, such
a more memorable day for everyone. So I want to
thank them first for all. But you know, it all
started off in the kiss tent for us yesterday. The
both teams are ready to go on the field, so
I thought I'll just give a little pump up and

(01:48):
remind them while while we were there.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
We all know while we're here, so fun, enjoy the game.
Shirt around. I want everyone have just as much fun
as everyone next door. It's an experience I hope for
all the kids to enjoy. And yeah, let's have for
a successful fun day. And everyone went in to day,
so let's go out and enjoy the day.

Speaker 7 (02:05):
But I couldn't leave Tash, a little twelve year old
pump up guy. He bought some race after in the
few weeks before it. But he has some words of encouragement.

Speaker 8 (02:14):
First, encourage your teammates and none give up. Remember if
you make a mistake or food, dash yourself off and
keep on trying. Joint until that phone a whistle blad.

Speaker 9 (02:30):
Kids were palms.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
So we started the game. But Kip was working with
Channel seven's Trevor Gillmeister in commentary from the Sidelines and
true to Kip Whiteman film. Within the first five minutes
he completely stuffed it. Up so much so that the
axe had to correct him.

Speaker 6 (02:48):
The gun backwards.

Speaker 8 (02:49):
I don't want to.

Speaker 6 (02:51):
Hang on. That's isn't that?

Speaker 3 (02:52):
So I've I've been calling the army the pink toys pink,
so I'll be going backwards.

Speaker 6 (03:03):
That's all right, Okay, we've got to get the teams.

Speaker 9 (03:06):
Right, Gillie.

Speaker 6 (03:09):
We do, yes.

Speaker 10 (03:12):
Once after that five minutes we worked out which which
was being good Purple.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Everyone else had worked it out way before, like weeks before.

Speaker 5 (03:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (03:18):
The parents on the sideline certainly had and they were
exactly as you asked, Corey.

Speaker 6 (03:22):
That was all encouragement, nothing negative.

Speaker 11 (03:30):
The ball spread, the ball spread, the ball out.

Speaker 6 (03:37):
The Corey was miked up for the game.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
And you've just seen seeing Corey in full coach mode,
run with him, run with.

Speaker 12 (03:43):
Him, sport by by first. Yo, So there's there's there
first but the worst, but the worst but last.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Yeah, okay, showing a cracking job, and yet you and
Trevor from the commentary box.

Speaker 9 (04:01):
Were quick to turn on him.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
Coach Corey is calling it right, players ignoring coach Corey. Yes,
why would you listen to?

Speaker 13 (04:11):
Corey?

Speaker 9 (04:11):
Was a winner?

Speaker 10 (04:13):
Literally went right and they just went straight left and
listened to commentary.

Speaker 14 (04:19):
Boys just joined up good enough imitate Ray Warry.

Speaker 9 (04:26):
But the confusion continued into halftime.

Speaker 6 (04:29):
You reckon ther team's gar mate.

Speaker 11 (04:31):
You tell me three drives one, it's two to one, three, two,
it's two. It is too he's playing the rap is
ufair restaurant down three?

Speaker 4 (04:42):
That does this work?

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Even our junior reporter Patty wasn't sure what was happening.

Speaker 8 (04:47):
Corey and the other coach don't know the actual scores.
The other coach thinks it's like for four nil and
the and Corey thinks it's two nil.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
Yeah, there's a lot of confusion.

Speaker 7 (04:59):
I had to go the man that obviously was it
was controlling the game, a referee Jack, just.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
To clear up the schools.

Speaker 7 (05:06):
When he clear up the score, what's what's this going on?

Speaker 4 (05:08):
Is it? Is it three? One or two? So one
paid cash.

Speaker 11 (05:13):
Before, didn't it?

Speaker 7 (05:17):
I must even pay I'll double its four THO.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
Just got to keep saying numbers to keep it more confusing.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
The second half. The second half was very close to
it came down to one tried.

Speaker 7 (05:29):
No, no, and came here at the final buzzer and
yeah it was great. The second half was everything we
wanted to see. But look at it honestly came down
right to.

Speaker 9 (05:37):
The end as.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
Played.

Speaker 11 (05:43):
Yes, good defense, okay, here going this will be the
final play of the game.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
You would think, Oh, I really, I think North Side
of won this.

Speaker 9 (06:00):
Someone tell me your school wonder.

Speaker 6 (06:03):
No one knew who won. It didn't matter that it
didn't and it was about Yeah, it.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
All honestly came down the end.

Speaker 7 (06:08):
But the best part about the end was the kids
were competing and they were just having fun and and
that's all I wanted.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
I just wanted to all have fun.

Speaker 7 (06:16):
And that's what the best part about the end of
the day was was that you could see the enjoyment
and the excitement on their faces time.

Speaker 9 (06:23):
Yeah, what do you reckon?

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Mom?

Speaker 1 (06:26):
They had the best time, and it was great to
see a bunch of kids who've never played together have
so much fun. So as he had fun and he's
had all so much fun.

Speaker 6 (06:37):
It was the best.

Speaker 8 (06:38):
Bit having to go out there just passing around and having.

Speaker 6 (06:47):
To go great day.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
I think some of them thought the best bit was
the unlimited purple gatorade.

Speaker 6 (06:54):
They were smashing.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
The front page of the Courier Mail also says it all.
It says, Corey gives back to the game he loves,
and we were so grateful to your Corey because it worked.
Now I.

Speaker 15 (07:13):
Want to hit this scam is handle Carri's.

Speaker 5 (07:18):
Lit Cory's littlely made possible by Construction Pathways. There's never
been a better time for a career in construction search
construction pathways.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
It must have been exciting, Coury to see your vision
come to life.

Speaker 6 (07:29):
And that it was I was.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
I was really nervous. Yeah, I just I always get
like that.

Speaker 7 (07:37):
I hate things not going to plan, especially want us
to do with kids, you know, having fun, and I
just what I wanted to get out of it. I
was just so many things going through my brain. Anyone
I want to get injured. I just want to have fun.
I have a great time and have good memories. And
I was so happy at the end of the day.
And my back's feeling it today.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
I just say that because you ran the true you
had backspasms on the way home, still got them.

Speaker 6 (07:59):
Backspasms, don't too half.

Speaker 4 (08:03):
I was sweating out there, but it.

Speaker 9 (08:11):
Was all about the kids having fun. And we were
lucky enough during.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
The process of picking the teams and getting everyone involved
in this that our Prime Minister Elbow gave us permission
to use his name and create two best and Fairest
medals to give away at the end of the competition,
and Matt Gillett, who of course was the coach of
the North Side, chose a kid called Harrison.

Speaker 11 (08:37):
Why Prime Minister's the best in Farist award goes to
little Harrison. He showed up, He did everything the game
told me the most impreachier level, did a great job.

Speaker 6 (08:50):
He was great Harrison.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
Yeah, but what Jillo didn't know and you guys didn't know,
is that Harrison wasn't just doing the right thing on
the field. So at halftime, I'm just cruising around talking
to parents, checking in on the kids, and I stopped
fellow player, fellow north Side player Georgia and her mum,
who told me this, what's it like out there?

Speaker 6 (09:13):
Fun is it?

Speaker 9 (09:15):
And is everyone passing and doing what they have to do?

Speaker 13 (09:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (09:18):
I had one little.

Speaker 9 (09:19):
Boy come up to her and say she was playing sensational,
so that was really nice.

Speaker 6 (09:22):
What's his name?

Speaker 9 (09:23):
Do you know who who was who was not this guy?
What's your name?

Speaker 6 (09:28):
Harrison?

Speaker 9 (09:28):
What did you say to Georgia?

Speaker 8 (09:29):
Oh, you're playing great and it's really you're playing really
good and the spell.

Speaker 6 (09:34):
It of the game.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
Look at that.

Speaker 6 (09:36):
What a nice thing to say. Why did you do that?

Speaker 9 (09:38):
Harrison?

Speaker 8 (09:38):
She's made great tags, she's made great break she's game
dust meters. She's playing her bad really good good.

Speaker 9 (09:50):
That's a terrible thank you mate. How does that make
you feel good?

Speaker 16 (09:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (09:57):
What a god?

Speaker 6 (09:58):
How does that make you feel Corey? That's awesome? That's perfect.

Speaker 5 (10:01):
No.

Speaker 7 (10:01):
Yeah, and there's a lot of those kids on the
day you say, they really they really thought about themselves.
For the kids you know that weren't obviously as confident
being in that little and like that that environment and
new team.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
I feel like everyone really.

Speaker 7 (10:14):
Enjoyed it because of that, Like you know, the kids
that are a lot more comfortable and I know that
they have a bit more skill. They actually shared it around.
You know my pick which I will get to probably
later in the week.

Speaker 16 (10:27):
But yeah, I.

Speaker 7 (10:29):
Challenged about halftime and they really they really took that
challenge on board, some of the boys in the South team.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
And made it just the second half. I don't know
about you guys, but it was such an entertaining half
of foot.

Speaker 16 (10:41):
It was great.

Speaker 6 (10:41):
It was great to watch it.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
Was fun to watch.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
And we did ask Elbow if he'd be interested in
presenting the awards, but he said he's got to meet
up with Trump.

Speaker 6 (10:49):
Yeah, I mean priorities, the.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
Medal, you could have at least given it out shortly
after the success.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
I get some of that.

Speaker 6 (10:59):
But tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
Now we had year old her first birthday party. You
guys were there, along with sixty plus other people at
our house.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
I met your parents, Like, we've spoken to Silvia and
Paul so many times, but I've never actually seen them
in the flesh.

Speaker 6 (11:23):
They are tiny little people.

Speaker 9 (11:25):
How are you so tall?

Speaker 3 (11:27):
It's weird, isn't it. Yeah, they're like, I think dad's
less than five six now he was five six. He
shrunk a bit. And mum's Mum's definitely under I don't
know me and my brother. My brother's a little.

Speaker 6 (11:36):
Taller than me. So we're like booking family photos.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
Yeah, yeah, it was really it was nice. Sleeping people
we talked to though, and oh.

Speaker 6 (11:43):
Yeah, you would have Nanny Pearl and.

Speaker 9 (11:46):
She was not letting Sienna go.

Speaker 3 (11:48):
No, Nanny Pearl just spent the entire party. That's Naomi's
mom just walking around with with Sienna on a hip.
And occasionally Sienna actually reached from me like Dad, take
me and Pearl like just gave me a hip and shoulder,
just take her away. That we had a I got
one of those inflatable swimming pools. Those little ones have
filled it with ball So we had a ball pit
in the middle of a lounge and the.

Speaker 9 (12:08):
One year old because mother's group was which just was lovely.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
I was lovely, Yes, although last night I will say
I thought we had no food in the ballpit rule,
but Siena was in there last night crawling around in
When I picked her up, I was like, what.

Speaker 6 (12:20):
Does she smell like? Keish? There must have been a
keish in there.

Speaker 4 (12:25):
Was It wasn't yours.

Speaker 6 (12:27):
Oh yeah, of course kids were there out of control,
but that they were all out of control. All the
kids were out of control.

Speaker 9 (12:34):
So much food left over?

Speaker 3 (12:36):
Oh yeah, I've got about one hundred sausage rolls. A
lot of all the nice pastries got given away, which
was nice. While we're at little leg they all got
handed on some. I brought some little party cakes. What
are those things called cupcakes? Cupcakes for us in.

Speaker 6 (12:51):
Here your headcakes.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
You had a whole bench full of presents, Yes, lovely.
Have you opened them all?

Speaker 5 (12:59):
Just no?

Speaker 6 (13:00):
I think Naomi did one last night, but no, not really.

Speaker 9 (13:03):
What didn't you open ours?

Speaker 13 (13:06):
Well?

Speaker 6 (13:06):
Yours?

Speaker 3 (13:07):
Yours didn't get fit on the bench, and I have
the audio of you guys arriving with your fist.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
The best you know is that?

Speaker 11 (13:15):
Right?

Speaker 4 (13:15):
Yeah we are.

Speaker 7 (13:17):
It's first birthday and we didn't know what to buy it,
so we thought of drum sets. What better to buy
for a one year old than the most noise possible.

Speaker 4 (13:25):
So I love it.

Speaker 15 (13:28):
Yeah, that is not a good gift, Naomi.

Speaker 9 (13:32):
It's not ideal.

Speaker 6 (13:34):
It's probably not ideal. It's not like bongo gums your drums.
You bought a full rock and roll drum ship.

Speaker 9 (13:40):
Yeah, Marketplace snares the double.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
Yeah, it's huge and it's sturdy.

Speaker 4 (13:45):
It's beautiful. There was no flyers flying out of it.

Speaker 10 (13:48):
It's it's yeah, it's red and it's got rustle over
the symbol thing.

Speaker 6 (13:52):
I don't know where the symbols are. I don't want
to know.

Speaker 7 (13:54):
Consland supporter, So why not we thought we'd give you
like a nice ready Maroon maron rafie.

Speaker 9 (14:00):
We just think that's great.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
He did not even even my five year old went
this is a terrible gift. Dad, He's going, why would
why would they give this to a one year old?

Speaker 14 (14:09):
You know what it is, Dad, it's mean, he said.
Last night, I said they just wanted they just wanted
me to be in pain. RAFFI, well, I've done it,
and that's.

Speaker 4 (14:21):
Coming from the kid. I was kicking the soccer ball
up to the stories in the into the crowd.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
They discovered water ball water balloons. By the end of
the party, they were throwing water balloons off the balcony.
It was just I'm going to be cleaning up bits of.

Speaker 6 (14:33):
Balloon for four weeks.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
But I want to know, what's the worst gift you've received.
Doesn't have to be for a first birthday, but what's
the worst gift? Thirteen one sixty five Because actually the one,
the one that we did open, was the one from Ali,
and I thought, oh, you guys gave us the drums Ali's,
so this will be the sweet gift.

Speaker 6 (14:50):
She gave us a recorder and a foghorn. She's trying
to send the baby deaf and then asked deaf.

Speaker 15 (14:58):
Be loud, be proud, Sienna.

Speaker 6 (15:01):
I mean, it just keeps ramping up the bad gift
I have no idea. I don't We'll have to find it.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
Yeah curious, Okay, yeah, I gave a very me present.
You might think it's gross.

Speaker 3 (15:17):
Oh yeah, okay, I don't know.

Speaker 9 (15:19):
I hope you don't. It was coming from the heart.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
Is it a dog?

Speaker 6 (15:24):
We better open it on the bench.

Speaker 7 (15:31):
Now.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
With my one year old's first birthday party at home,
you guys came and you brought a lovely gift of
an entire full rock and roll drum kit, a second hand,
second hand.

Speaker 9 (15:46):
Slightly broken us. Yeah, completely does need a bit of referbing.

Speaker 4 (15:51):
We thought you.

Speaker 6 (15:53):
You gave me a job. You gave me a job,
and then when I'm finished, I've got a drum kit
for kids. It's a nightmare.

Speaker 9 (16:00):
It's fantastic, Meghan and Clayfield.

Speaker 17 (16:03):
Worst gift, worst gift ever, was from my two x stepsons,
their grandmother. They've got a picture this a sixteen year
old boy and a thirteen year old boy opening up
their present. And you know those towels, those kids baby
towels that you have the whole cut in. Oh yeah, yeah,

(16:26):
that's what they got for Christmas.

Speaker 6 (16:28):
That's for three years.

Speaker 13 (16:30):
Like that.

Speaker 17 (16:31):
Yeah, and also toothbrush and toothpaste.

Speaker 10 (16:35):
Oh, if you're if you're sixteen year sixteen, you get
a towel with a hoodie in it and some toothpaste.

Speaker 4 (16:43):
Come on, yeh, I don't know how to fake.

Speaker 9 (16:48):
The gift Brookwater. What did you get?

Speaker 8 (16:54):
Hey, guys?

Speaker 16 (16:55):
It runs with Kip's theme of the band bought my
nephew three birtha tambourine.

Speaker 9 (17:05):
The kid love it and the parents hate you.

Speaker 17 (17:07):
He loved it and it had to go everywhere express
in the car.

Speaker 16 (17:11):
But I think I think it's found its way out
the window on one.

Speaker 4 (17:15):
Yeah that mom and dad jugget.

Speaker 6 (17:19):
That's a great one, Shanene. Bye, guys, how are you
very good?

Speaker 8 (17:26):
Thank you?

Speaker 3 (17:26):
Now you've got your eight year old son Byron in
the car. Producer tells us.

Speaker 16 (17:31):
Yeah, Byron's got something to ask your kids?

Speaker 3 (17:34):
Yes, Byron?

Speaker 16 (17:36):
Can I get that drums yet? Yes?

Speaker 6 (17:41):
Byron?

Speaker 5 (17:42):
What?

Speaker 8 (17:43):
Yes?

Speaker 11 (17:43):
You can?

Speaker 13 (17:45):
Yeah?

Speaker 17 (17:47):
Byron?

Speaker 6 (17:48):
Want a drum?

Speaker 4 (17:48):
Cad alranded out random house?

Speaker 9 (17:52):
Did you see how well wrapped it was?

Speaker 15 (17:54):
It was even a bow on it.

Speaker 6 (17:55):
Its still wrapped, Barron. That's the great news.

Speaker 16 (17:58):
So Kippy going to rewrap it and deliver it to it.

Speaker 6 (18:01):
No, don't you want to wrap?

Speaker 4 (18:04):
Do you want to cleaned? Byron, ye.

Speaker 6 (18:09):
Got to clean, don't give me?

Speaker 1 (18:12):
Can I just tell you something?

Speaker 16 (18:13):
We're actually at school, okay, he's about to He should
be in his guitar orchestra at the moment for rehearsal.
But he also does do drums. So when mister Richie
is that he has now got a full fledged drum, kids.

Speaker 6 (18:32):
On my pleasure.

Speaker 9 (18:34):
Well there's no there's no symbols, and the bass drum's
got a bit of a cracket.

Speaker 6 (18:43):
It still it's a renovator's dream, apparently. Well clean, I'll
clean up the rust. I'll do what I can. I've
got some some w D forty. I can't as much.

Speaker 13 (18:55):
More than that.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
Get a working condition.

Speaker 6 (18:58):
Yeah, I'll bring it in here. You can pass it
on and then Byron can. Byron can absolutely have it.

Speaker 16 (19:04):
I love it because you know what this is now
myke karma because he got one to his first birthday.
We set from my brother Lanthony, and it was destroyed
within second.

Speaker 6 (19:17):
He's got a real one. This is wonderful. Yeah, well
done on your buy and have a great day school, all.

Speaker 8 (19:24):
Right with this?

Speaker 6 (19:27):
Previously loved that happened. That has just worked out terrific.

Speaker 4 (19:31):
So lucky, but you know the funniest thing. It's going
to be in a good working condition.

Speaker 6 (19:34):
Yeah, I'll fix it as much as I can.

Speaker 9 (19:36):
We went before and after to share on our social.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
Clean Clean Why don't you who gives a gift that's
dirty to be dirty?

Speaker 4 (19:44):
And now I've got it now it's a photos really
sold it for me. And then I said.

Speaker 6 (19:51):
You didn't have to buy it.

Speaker 4 (19:53):
I was committed.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
Now halfway through the podcast. So what's the worst gift
you've received? I know, Maddie, our producer's got a story,
so we'll get to Maddie in just a second.

Speaker 1 (20:07):
But what do you got.

Speaker 4 (20:08):
I've got a couple. The main one.

Speaker 7 (20:11):
You know, those new Spider Man costume outfits things, and
they got them those canisters.

Speaker 4 (20:18):
Those cannisters are just filled with crap.

Speaker 6 (20:21):
What they fire out, it's not a wicky crap and
there's heaps of it.

Speaker 4 (20:25):
They just give you a canister. I've hidden shiploads of them.

Speaker 6 (20:29):
Yeah, and they just don't get used. But they are pointless.
That's a mess. It's just mess.

Speaker 4 (20:35):
And you just you just asked them for the kid
to get in trouble even more, I know.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
And people get really funny about children's gifts, but honestly,
I didn't want any more plastic crap. And then you say,
don't bring a gift, and then people feel bad and
I understand that. And you don't want to do like
a wishing well because that's weird if your kids turning eight,
but you know, buying stuff for the sake of it
doesn't work. And how many blankets maybe blankets do you
get it a one year old?

Speaker 6 (21:00):
Well, actually we got them all at theatters.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
But like when she was born, people would give you
a gift.

Speaker 6 (21:05):
We got I reckon fifteen blankets.

Speaker 9 (21:09):
Oh my goodness, they're all beautiful and soft.

Speaker 3 (21:11):
Whatever you use one maximum should it change?

Speaker 4 (21:16):
Like if you can't have a gift for the baby,
get a gift for the parents.

Speaker 6 (21:19):
That's what we got to deal with it.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
That was the nice people in the noo gave knowing
you a bottle of wine or champagne yesterday.

Speaker 6 (21:27):
Yeah great, Yeah, that's part of it.

Speaker 9 (21:31):
Yeah, there's another weird present that you may not like.

Speaker 6 (21:34):
You have to read the car today. Okay, you have
to read.

Speaker 1 (21:37):
If you're okay with you may not be, And I'm
okay with that. If you're not okay, it's fine. You
can read gifted, but you just have to tell me
you can't, or maybe bring the card in. Oh yeah,
and the present unopened.

Speaker 6 (21:53):
Okay, I'll do that. And then just because you may.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
It might be fine and you may hang on, How
will I know which one? There's a bottle of chardonnay. Yes,
there's a bottle of Scarborough Sharday with a little a
little blue bag and a card and they're all together.

Speaker 6 (22:09):
Okay, bring it in tomorrow, have some breakfast.

Speaker 16 (22:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 18 (22:18):
I got a pretty bad birthday gift for my twenty
first birthday from my then best friend at the time,
who was like the.

Speaker 15 (22:25):
Person I spent all of my time with.

Speaker 18 (22:27):
She got me a box of Twining's English breakfast tea.

Speaker 15 (22:35):
And I didn't drink tea. I was very much a
coffee person.

Speaker 6 (22:41):
So this is a person that knows you intimately. Yeah.

Speaker 15 (22:43):
Yeah, she and she didn't wrap it or anything. It
was just like in this bag, but tea, I know,
for a twenty first birthday. And I said to her,
I said, you know, like this is so random, like
I don't actually like thank you.

Speaker 18 (22:55):
But I don't te No, I was honest with you,
I said, Well, she said, oh, I thought it was
kind of a you know, a bit of a generic gift,
like you can't go wrong, like I feel like everyone
drinks English breakfast.

Speaker 15 (23:04):
And then was when I realized, Yeah, you're not actually
my best friend like that.

Speaker 3 (23:09):
Well she probably and you'd have to think she probably
stole that from the cupboard at work.

Speaker 15 (23:13):
Yeah, one hundred percent. It was, Yeah, from mum'spouse or
something like five bucks, wouldn't it.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
Yeah, when you are a gift giver, yes, and that
is one of your love languages and people get it
so wrong.

Speaker 15 (23:26):
Yeah, it felt like, oh, you don't know me at all,
Like I was so hurt by it.

Speaker 6 (23:31):
You can't go wrong, you can't even like.

Speaker 4 (23:36):
Twenty one bucks, whether the scratches.

Speaker 15 (23:38):
Or something, or maybe even the expensive tea like sorry.

Speaker 9 (23:42):
Talk beautiful.

Speaker 4 (23:45):
Teack up on you.

Speaker 9 (23:47):
It's hard to justify that. So what happened after that?

Speaker 15 (23:52):
Yeah, so I kind of just started less than less calling.

Speaker 18 (23:56):
Yeah, but that birthday in particular, weirdly, like I think,
ended a few relationships in my life because my boyfriend
at the time also didn't get me a gift for
twenty first at all.

Speaker 15 (24:06):
He took me get this just for.

Speaker 18 (24:08):
A night in the camper van down at some park
and I said, where's my where's my birthday gift?

Speaker 15 (24:13):
He goes, this is your gift. It's camping.

Speaker 4 (24:16):
Phil.

Speaker 15 (24:18):
Okay anyway, so yeah.

Speaker 9 (24:22):
Yeah, okay, that is an absolute reason.

Speaker 15 (24:26):
Yeah so yeah that ended.

Speaker 6 (24:28):
What do you want that looking at me? Get that
chair that was shared? Did you say that that?

Speaker 9 (24:38):
I did stay?

Speaker 18 (24:38):
Then I thought maybe he was having me on and
that maybe the next morning there'd be a gift.

Speaker 9 (24:42):
But there wasn't.

Speaker 4 (24:44):
No, that wasn't the gift and experiences you know what.

Speaker 15 (24:48):
This is exactly what he said. Like, I'm feeling triggered
right now because yeah, he's like, I'm I'm the gift.

Speaker 9 (25:01):
Well he was making way for Joel, yes, thank goodness.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
Yeah, and he did Joel a solid because the car
is so low.

Speaker 6 (25:11):
From there.

Speaker 1 (25:12):
I can't stand it when guys just go, oh, look,
I'm just not into buying birthday presents.

Speaker 6 (25:17):
I'm like, try. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (25:20):
If Joel knew that, he could have just went from
a tee to a cup, yeah, and then to a cattle.

Speaker 8 (25:27):
Again.

Speaker 6 (25:28):
But I got you this blend forty three. My god,
d now the podcast.

Speaker 13 (25:44):
Hit.

Speaker 17 (25:45):
This game is handled.

Speaker 5 (25:47):
It's Correy's Corey's little League. Made possible by Construction Pathways.
There's never been a better time for a career in
construction search construction Pathways.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
There's so many ways to check out the highlights of
Corey's Little League game, either on our Instagram at Facebook
or the Career Marlet's on the front page today or
Sunrise at about ten minutes because they're crossing live to
this studio week Corey and our junior reporter Patty, Patty
from Straddy good A's going.

Speaker 1 (26:16):
To be there and that was one of the other
wonderful things we were able to do with the help
of Channel seven. Is not just making about the kids
who could play on the field, but it was also
the kids who wanted to just be a part of it.

Speaker 9 (26:26):
And Patty, you won that. It was a huge day
for you.

Speaker 8 (26:29):
Thank you.

Speaker 9 (26:30):
How did you find it all?

Speaker 8 (26:32):
I really loved it.

Speaker 9 (26:33):
The game was really good too. I really liked it.

Speaker 3 (26:37):
This is a little bit of Patty and because part
of it before the game was Patty coming in to
read the sport for us. This is a bit of
Patty's work on the mic.

Speaker 8 (26:44):
The Dino Knites and the Kangaroos are putting their finishing
touches on premp. It was a big weekend of footies.
Dolphins destroyed the Dragons fifty six or six. Someone called
life God fins up.

Speaker 6 (26:57):
It was brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

Speaker 3 (26:59):
And went up and read the news of Channel seven
as well, and then did some of our commentary yesterday.

Speaker 6 (27:04):
So what's this audio here?

Speaker 3 (27:05):
This is Patty having a chat with coaches Jillo and Corey.

Speaker 8 (27:10):
Hey, guys, I'm here with Cory, Oats, Matt and the
ref Jack. How are you guys feeling?

Speaker 1 (27:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (27:16):
Look, no, it was a good that.

Speaker 7 (27:17):
I feel like if I paid the ref too, I
would have got some better calls, but it happens.

Speaker 4 (27:20):
Unfortunately the organized the somzing.

Speaker 11 (27:23):
I did organize the ref, and they organized a lot
more than Corey did, so I think it's only fair
that we got there in the end.

Speaker 12 (27:29):
But now it's very very fun day and I'm sure
Jack had as thank you for How was it?

Speaker 1 (27:35):
Jack?

Speaker 6 (27:36):
I was great?

Speaker 1 (27:37):
Was pretty good.

Speaker 6 (27:38):
One atmosphere was the last.

Speaker 8 (27:40):
Question to Jack? Did he actually pay you?

Speaker 6 (27:46):
Jack's the ref?

Speaker 4 (27:49):
I'm gonna ask I had to ask it. I'd ask
a questions. Had a few calls gone on the other sideway,
but no, Look, it was a really good day, Patty.
You made it. You made it a lot more enjoyable.

Speaker 7 (28:01):
And the kids honestly responded so much better to you. Yes,
and what they did, he got more out of them
than they're not weeded. But that was the last week
or two week being for you with everything that's happened.

Speaker 8 (28:14):
Yeah, it's been amazing.

Speaker 9 (28:16):
I've loved it.

Speaker 8 (28:16):
I've loved every single.

Speaker 6 (28:18):
Bit of it.

Speaker 1 (28:19):
And what if they said at school really like all
my mates are like, oh, this.

Speaker 8 (28:24):
Kid was on sevens.

Speaker 9 (28:27):
Give a shout out to your friends. Which school do
you go to?

Speaker 7 (28:29):
Oh?

Speaker 8 (28:30):
I go to Colma College. Can I shout out my males? Azayah?

Speaker 6 (28:33):
Yeah? Isa kid.

Speaker 2 (28:37):
Now with the podcast.

Speaker 3 (28:41):
As we speak Corey and our junior reporter Patty on Sunrise,
I think I can bring it up right now.

Speaker 6 (28:46):
We can have a listen to what's happening on Channel seven.

Speaker 4 (28:48):
Oh.

Speaker 18 (28:49):
If you think the Bulldogs are the Raiders are the
biggest teams in the world of.

Speaker 6 (28:52):
Rugby league right now, you may want to think again.

Speaker 1 (28:55):
The most anticipated match of the weekend was actually between
the Dino Knights and the Kanga Moons.

Speaker 17 (29:00):
Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 13 (29:01):
The two under twelve's rugby league teams went head to
head on the weekend in a match that even caught
the Prime Minister's eye. So let's find out how it
all pas. We're joined now by architect of this league,
former NRL star now radio host Corey. It's great to
have you with us, as well as the games junior
reporter Patty from Strati both with it with us this morning.

(29:21):
So Corey, just take us through little league and why
you started it.

Speaker 7 (29:26):
Yeah, thanks for having me, but yeah, of cour as
the league just it all started from going and doing
junior clinics and just seeing the kids around eleven and
twelve years old really having too much pressure themselves and
not knowing the basics of rugby league, and I.

Speaker 4 (29:41):
Thought, why not try and start a concept.

Speaker 7 (29:43):
Where it's all about enjoyment and it's all about learning
basic skills and trying to find the enjoyment from that
and just teach them that it's a civil game and
there shouldn't be pressure on kids.

Speaker 4 (29:53):
At that age.

Speaker 7 (29:54):
So yeah, that was kind of the idea, and I
guess it took off, took off from there, and yeah
a lot of people jumped on board, which was great.

Speaker 18 (30:02):
Good on your Corey, because so many kids start dropping out,
don't they into high school?

Speaker 15 (30:06):
So this is fantastic news.

Speaker 11 (30:08):
Patty, you're only twelve years old, you're already commentating a
live game.

Speaker 9 (30:12):
Tell us about what happened in the match.

Speaker 8 (30:14):
Oh, there was it was very electric.

Speaker 9 (30:16):
I really loved it.

Speaker 8 (30:17):
But one of my highlights was when the Dino Oh,
when the Kangaroos actually dropped the ball and the Dino
Knights actually had a breakthrough was really entertaining.

Speaker 13 (30:28):
Yeah, it's so entertaining, isn't it. A Corey too nice
to see kisses on board and also the community base
for rugby league is only growing, especially when you have
comps like this.

Speaker 7 (30:41):
You know, I was very fortunate to have former Origin
grades jump on board and get the help from a
good mate Jillo Matcholette sorry and then construction pathways also
they helped a lot with obviously being the major sponsor
of the event. But it was just it was really
cool to see the support from all the communities, a families,

(31:01):
the parents, you know, the really the supportive listeners, even
like there's so many people that just listened to the
radio station that rocked up to show the kids of support.

Speaker 4 (31:11):
So that was a great day.

Speaker 7 (31:14):
I was really happy with Yeah, just everything went went.

Speaker 4 (31:16):
To plan, so that was nice.

Speaker 15 (31:18):
Look at these shots in the studio.

Speaker 9 (31:19):
That's fantastic, Corey. I reckon, I mean, Patty, I reckon.
You're on your way to share those job? Oh maybe?

Speaker 8 (31:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 13 (31:26):
Yeah, very good behind the MinC good on you boys,
Really appreciated. Congratulations to the winning teams too, and everyone
as part of the comp Really appreciate your time.

Speaker 6 (31:34):
You now podcast.

Speaker 9 (31:41):
Thoughts from the right on Marlow with.

Speaker 3 (31:44):
Cor Yes, wherever it is, you have your time to
contemplate the world and have your thoughts. We want to
hear about thirteen one oh sixty fives our number of Corey's.

Speaker 6 (31:55):
Can you kick us off though?

Speaker 4 (31:56):
Yeah, well look I had a couple. The first one
is not overly a big deal. But pens like the
blue and the red and the black?

Speaker 6 (32:04):
Oh your biros?

Speaker 4 (32:05):
Yeah, your borrows. I always wanted what was only three?

Speaker 3 (32:09):
What do you mean?

Speaker 6 (32:10):
What I mean?

Speaker 7 (32:10):
And personally, who's one that said that we're going to
use black and blue and red?

Speaker 4 (32:15):
What's what?

Speaker 9 (32:16):
Official documents is green?

Speaker 4 (32:19):
I like green.

Speaker 7 (32:20):
I'd rather use a green pen on your official If
I did that on an official document, they'd probably send
it back.

Speaker 6 (32:25):
They would they Definitely, it's a pen. You're not getting
your passport if you're the.

Speaker 4 (32:29):
Same thing, just a different color, Why does it matter.

Speaker 9 (32:32):
They're colorists, they are color honestly.

Speaker 1 (32:35):
What it's got to do with Like back in the
day when we had faxes that you wouldn't actually see
if it was being copied.

Speaker 4 (32:43):
We don't have die up anymore.

Speaker 6 (32:45):
You're right, the world has moved on, So why why.

Speaker 4 (32:48):
Can't pens move on?

Speaker 6 (32:50):
Let us use whatever color we want, bringing out the colors.

Speaker 4 (32:53):
You can stay the way it is because.

Speaker 6 (32:55):
If you're feeling festive, you could go pink.

Speaker 4 (32:57):
Or whatever favorite color, your lucky color, you know. Yeah,
fair enough, I'm just ob sick of it.

Speaker 7 (33:05):
Okay, that's the first apartments, Yeah, apartner blocks, Yeah, apart
apart apartment.

Speaker 4 (33:14):
Yeah, they're together.

Speaker 6 (33:15):
What are they called if they're together?

Speaker 3 (33:17):
What do they call them?

Speaker 6 (33:18):
Apartments? Fair question?

Speaker 9 (33:21):
Yeah, I don't know that anyone.

Speaker 6 (33:24):
It is ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (33:25):
It is ridiculous.

Speaker 6 (33:26):
Can I make a complain about the English language? And
this came up yesterday?

Speaker 9 (33:30):
I may added to the list about the English This.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
Came up yesterday doing Corey's Little League that I'm standing
next to Gilly spelled g I L Gilly, and then
out on the field is Jill O spelled g I L,
and I at one stage called Gilly.

Speaker 6 (33:47):
Gilly actually called him Jilly.

Speaker 4 (33:52):
So I was saying Gill I should be j.

Speaker 6 (33:55):
Well, yeah, yes it should be. If you're going to
spell it with a J, then start with a J.
Like Georgia. One of the players out there, her mum
did the right thing. Spell the name of the name Gillett, Yeah, Gillett,
it should be Gilly.

Speaker 4 (34:08):
Change your name to j.

Speaker 9 (34:09):
There you go, I cannouncer. Your apartment.

Speaker 1 (34:11):
The term apartment originates from the French word appear meant,
which itself comes from the Italian apartmento meanings a separated place.

Speaker 6 (34:21):
A separated place.

Speaker 4 (34:22):
It's not it's together, but it's all together.

Speaker 6 (34:26):
It's been absurd.

Speaker 4 (34:27):
Decision doesn't make sense.

Speaker 6 (34:29):
Jerry togetherments Jerry, Jerry had to Eaton's hill.

Speaker 4 (34:36):
Hey, Jerry, morning, how are you going?

Speaker 3 (34:40):
I want to know where people are getting the driver's
licenses from these days, where they're getting them from, and
how they're getting them, because it's yeah.

Speaker 16 (34:49):
This doesn't make any sense out on the roads anymore.

Speaker 6 (34:51):
I'm afraid such bad drivers.

Speaker 17 (34:53):
You mean, yeah, Wow, no indicators right, laying when they
shouldn't be.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
Yeah, it's weird.

Speaker 4 (35:00):
I got a story for you about my driver's license.

Speaker 7 (35:02):
Yeah, where I went. I actually had to borrow the
cops car. It's what to do the test because I
wanted my manual. The mum bought the automatic on accident yep.
And we got there and I said, can I use
you Yeah, land Cruiser yep. He said yeah, right, it's
out the back.

Speaker 4 (35:19):
Let's go.

Speaker 6 (35:19):
Now this is a this is a tell me you're
from Barrella Barot.

Speaker 4 (35:29):

Speaker 9 (35:44):
Thoughts from the Right on Marlow.

Speaker 8 (35:47):
The cor.

Speaker 3 (35:50):
Yes, if you've got a thought about the world of contemplation,
a question without an answer.

Speaker 9 (35:54):
Then we are the place to air these things. And
we have a family passed to Disney on Nice to
give Away. Michelle of Diving Heights. What is your thoughts?

Speaker 16 (36:03):
Good morning guys. When I was going through all the
kids washing and I looked at the tags to say,
how to wash them insane? Inside out? Why is it
inside out instead of outside in?

Speaker 1 (36:13):
Just the question, Oh.

Speaker 4 (36:15):
Yeah, you call it from it.

Speaker 3 (36:18):
Yeah, you're going to wear it inside out, But why
don't they call it outside in?

Speaker 6 (36:22):
Yeah, that is a good question, very good question. As
a front runner of Parkridge.

Speaker 9 (36:27):
What's your thought from a moa hey morning?

Speaker 15 (36:30):
Firstly, I wish it was Wednesday.

Speaker 6 (36:32):
Next, could have won yourself a flat screen? I'm sorry, excited?

Speaker 16 (36:40):
Yeah, at the end of the day.

Speaker 6 (36:41):
You know, people always say at the end of the day.

Speaker 16 (36:43):
You know I've said I use it all the time?
What does that actually mean.

Speaker 3 (36:47):
At the end of the day.

Speaker 6 (36:49):
Yeah, people lean hard on it.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
So does that mean corporate speak?

Speaker 6 (36:53):
No, end of the day like I.

Speaker 17 (36:54):
Don't, Yeah, I use it all the time.

Speaker 4 (36:56):
Some people's end of the day is the start of
the morning. If it's not shift, Yes, the morning.

Speaker 6 (37:04):
There's a couple of nurses heading home right now, going
it's the end of the day.

Speaker 9 (37:08):
Jenny of Albany Creek, you thought.

Speaker 5 (37:11):
Well, tomato sauce is made from tomatoes. Barbecue sauce isn't
made from a barbecue, is it?

Speaker 3 (37:20):
What is it?

Speaker 4 (37:21):
What is made from?

Speaker 6 (37:23):
What are we going to win it?

Speaker 13 (37:24):
Right? What is it?

Speaker 17 (37:25):
Baker?

Speaker 6 (37:26):
What what the hell is barbecues?

Speaker 4 (37:28):
B I never thought of that. It is brilliant.

Speaker 6 (37:31):
Jenny, you've got a family pastor Disney on ice. Well done,
Thank you so much. That is very good.

Speaker 4 (37:39):
Tomato.

Speaker 6 (37:40):
Yeah, we're gonna four barbecues, not made off. What are
you going to look up?

Speaker 11 (37:48):

Speaker 8 (37:49):
