Really all that's a big call is especially excited about
this one.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
I think this is because that's tall. I mean, you've
done this for a long time, Rob. What are some
of the stuff you've received over the year.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Oh my goodness.
Speaker 6 (01:05):
I remember once when I had to work on Christmas today.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
Yeah, some company, some hotel hell company sent us two
layers of burnt toast and we felt what because I
was working at the News And then you lifted up
the burnt toast because you know, like it's so crappy
to have to work on Christmas Day. It's getting burnt
toast as a present, and you lifted it up and
there was this collector's bottle of fers.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Oh that's pretty good.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
That is good. That was fun.
Speaker 4 (01:33):
I remember Coca Cola back in the days when they
were advertising wildly.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
They spent They sent a whole fridge, like a bar
fridge full of coke to take home. What have you
got over the years?
Speaker 7 (01:43):
Score?
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Are you in point some amazing? Has he not gone yesterday?
What did you get yesterday?
Speaker 8 (01:49):
Yesterday?
Speaker 3 (01:50):
I it gifts?
Speaker 4 (01:52):
You didn't get any new wheels for the older Dodgram there?
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Did you boat?
Speaker 9 (01:56):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Whatever else was going on in the house? Your shirt collection?
What about your Nike shoes? Anyway?
Speaker 3 (02:02):
So, producers, are you sure that this is the secret.
Speaker 10 (02:06):
Stand?
Speaker 3 (02:09):
What you've got a boat?
Speaker 4 (02:12):
Once?
Speaker 10 (02:15):
It's not a boat? You have not actually ruined the whole.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
That was a joke.
Speaker 10 (02:21):
I was just going to be a bit anti.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
I was hoping that. So let's come back with it the.
Speaker 6 (02:25):
Whole time.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
Now with the pod.
Speaker 4 (02:32):
So this La Booboo craze is the weirdest thing. And
there's a shop called pop Mart. There's one at Mount
gravat Westfields has one.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
It's a Indro.
Speaker 4 (02:41):
And there's a story last week of people lined up
like way out the door down all the way winding
through the whole shopping center. People lining up trying to
get Laboo bus.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
I am shocked that even in Australia you can find one.
I thought the only way to get one would be online,
and even then you have to sell like one of
your arms.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
Yeah, they've been sold out forever and people are on
selling them for a huge amount of early But yes,
but I have found a sauce and I've been able
to get a.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
Whole six pad.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
Right, they come in this box of La Boo Boo
box looks beaten up.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
Yeah, it's traveled away.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
It's traveled quite a long distance, but it's got all
these little monsters on it, which I think so it
got very popular. If you've just joined us from Lisa
from Black Pink, who's the K pop star, was also
on White.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Lotus, and it's just gone comp.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
Well, I don't want to open it because if you
open the box, because the unboxing experience is supposed to
be a big thing, this is all over TikTok, like
this is one of the many tiktoks of someone doing it.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
I'm going to unbox my first ever Bla Boo Boo.
Are the ones that I could get.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
I think I want to get the Pink one or
the blue one the most, So.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Let's see which one we get. I'm so excited. I
love so cute.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
This is the gray one, I think, is it great?
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Oh yeah, I have the little card.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
This is sesame being.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
It's actually so cute.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
I love the little See.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
This is why you can't You can't open it because
the boxes are all the same, but inside you've got
the special color.
Speaker 6 (04:16):
Yeah. But I'm just very very very dubious.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
Why because I got to Setndred and seventy bus to
be able to back.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
I think Matt producer Maddie is all over the laboo
by Craze team.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
And yeah, there's also things called la fu foos.
Speaker 11 (04:34):
Yeah that's the term coined by I guess the internet. Yeah,
lafufu being the fake la boo boo.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
Right, why are we even talking about it? Because this
look at it. It says it says PopMart on the box.
Speaker 11 (04:46):
Yeah, I mean from over here across the desk, it
does look like a legitimate La Boo boo box. And
I'm quite surprised you managed to get them, because they
do sell out immediately. So did you wait online for
those and queue up and just found.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
Them on an online source? Just just got got a box.
Took about ten days to get here.
Speaker 10 (05:05):
That's really.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Because the fos very good.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
This is I mean, it just looks like exactly like that.
It's a little monster, a little fluffy monster with the
vinyl face. It says Vinyl face on it.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (05:19):
So, I mean, on first glance, this looks quite it
looks real. If it's fake, it's a good fake.
Speaker 11 (05:25):
Although immediately I can see that on the top of
the box, the little tear thing, it doesn't go all
the way across the top, and that's usually the first indicator.
Speaker 10 (05:33):
So let me tear it open and have a good You.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
Can open one, okay, okay, can see't okay.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
And the fact that it didn't rip.
Speaker 10 (05:41):
Maybe you ripped it wrong, that's actually part of the
whole experience.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
Maybe that was maybe that was your fault, but not
ripping it properly.
Speaker 10 (05:47):
Maybe it is my fault. Maybe this is just the
box and I will open her up.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
Okay, Yes, it looks like look at that fake packaging.
That packaging looks legit does it.
Speaker 10 (05:58):
Says potmark on it.
Speaker 11 (06:00):
Yes, so I think, yeah, there is a couple of
different ways you can tell the difference.
Speaker 10 (06:04):
Before I open this up. A La Boo boo.
Speaker 11 (06:07):
Usually it has really bright colors on the box, and
it does usually have a barcade on the back of
the box.
Speaker 10 (06:11):
Immediately, this doesn't.
Speaker 11 (06:13):
Have a bar code, but I mean maybe maybe a
b Yeah, let's open her up.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
Yeah, wow, that sounds goods now putting a hand in
doing it like you do with a little boo boo.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
You do not know the color? Are you excited about?
Speaker 10 (06:30):
I really hope we get the cream color?
Speaker 3 (06:32):
Yes, okay, the cream one. Hey, that's legit, that's a one.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
That's quite good.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
What do you mean there's no keyring?
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Yeah, there's no keyring.
Speaker 10 (06:44):
Corey's right, that's.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Sorry.
Speaker 10 (06:48):
No, no, this is a fake. Yeah, this has got
to be a fake.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
Bought the food foods yeah Australia because I thought they
were real.
Speaker 10 (07:02):
That's more than like really cost.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
What are you going to do with this?
Speaker 3 (07:07):
Does anyone want one thirty one oh six five?
Speaker 4 (07:10):
Because I got them to give away on the show,
and I thought we were going to be the only
show giving away La boobers?
Speaker 3 (07:14):
But can we Surely someone still wants it looks very
good and the others we've got five that are still
thirty one oh sixty five.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
Okay, but you have to like, you have to legit
want them, like, yeah, do you want people that it's
going off?
Speaker 2 (07:28):
O caple are interesting.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
You are super excited about getting her look food.
Speaker 4 (07:33):
And if you're excited enough then I'm still going to
be able to claim it back as a work expense.
So please be excited. Thirty one O six five. I
should have known when I brought it from Alley Express.
I get I get that that was a mistake.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
Now look Kip's daily incompetence on this particular occasion.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
The box looks up.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
Your game.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
A genuine look Food food.
Speaker 4 (08:04):
Now with the podcast, but right now we have Laboo
Boos to give away.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
These are these little dolls. They sell them at pop Mart.
They're sold out. They have been for ages all around
the world.
Speaker 4 (08:17):
People are going nuts for these tiny little dolls you
hang on your handbag or something.
Speaker 6 (08:20):
Okay, can you pronounce them correctly?
Speaker 2 (08:22):
They're loaffufus. You thought they were la booboos. You spent two.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
Hundred and seventy dollars on them into Internet to get
six of these amazing little creatures, these little monsters.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Yes, and they're lafufus.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
So very good fakes. Though you have to admit that
their faces look very it's one of them being a
la booboo or not.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
No, they're all a box of laffufus, aren't we. We're
Maddie our producer who's super excited she unboxed a soy
milk therese of course light you berries, well, you don't
even know what's actually going to be in these boxes.
Speaker 6 (08:51):
But Amelia of Thornlands, good morning.
Speaker 7 (08:55):
Good morning.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
Oh is it your birthday today? Amelia?
Speaker 4 (08:58):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (08:59):
No birthday, Happy birthday? How old are you ten?
Speaker 2 (09:03):

Speaker 12 (09:07):

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Would you like us to unbox it? To tell you
which one?
Speaker 1 (09:10):
Would you like us to send the box to you?
Speaker 2 (09:17):
Birthday? Let's go to Joe of Logan. Hi, Joe, Hi?
Speaker 13 (09:22):
How are you?
Speaker 2 (09:23):
Do you sound like someone who's not under twenty?
Speaker 3 (09:28):
Now? Do you want this for a child?
Speaker 4 (09:30):
Who?
Speaker 3 (09:30):
Do you want this for? Joe?
Speaker 8 (09:33):
Well? Actually probably for one of my grandkids, grandkid?
Speaker 3 (09:37):

Speaker 1 (09:39):
Would you like us to one box or would you
like to get said fufu sent to you?
Speaker 13 (09:44):
I'd like it sent to me.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
And apparently a work colleague is obsessed and you want
to make them jealous.
Speaker 13 (09:51):
Yes, definitely.
Speaker 6 (09:55):
Stacey of Vipswitch, Hi, Hello, do you want a leafufu o?
Speaker 13 (10:02):

Speaker 3 (10:04):
One ten year old daughter. Okay, I'm not even gonna
Did you try and get a real laboo buo? Like?
Have you been been in the lines and all that?
Speaker 7 (10:12):
Well?
Speaker 9 (10:12):
I haven't because I didn't even know about these things
until the work collegue told me about them.
Speaker 13 (10:17):
Yeah, my daughter started talking about them and I was like, oh.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
Yeah, and they've just got and they're nuts. People have
gone nuts around the world. Try and you could buy
her well. I did very well knowing the laboo foos.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
Bella of Burkdale High, Hi, were you going good? Did
you want a laboo boo? But you'll settle for a lafu.
Speaker 7 (10:41):

Speaker 4 (10:44):
I want a loaf foo foo.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Yeah you do?
Speaker 12 (10:46):
Yes, well you've got one all yours, Bella.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
Yeah, we'll send it to you fully boxed, because that
is also the experience, and maybe you could shoot a
video of your unboxing it and sending it back.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
Do you care which one you get?
Speaker 8 (11:08):
No, I don't even mind.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
I just on one, just.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
One of.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
And look how happy I made people today.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Yes, you're incompetence and being able to claim on work expenses.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
You have made other people's days.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
I brought joy.
Speaker 14 (11:24):
How can you be happy making a mistake?
Speaker 3 (11:25):
I brought joy Corey to me?
Speaker 14 (11:27):
Actually, well because you stuffed up.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
But it's all right. Everyone got the food.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
And just like with everything in Kip Whiteman's life, the
plane is just about to crash and get.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
Somehow it pulled up. Yeah, and we got through our destination.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
It's so irritation.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Now podcast. But right now Corey is out of the studio.
Speaker 4 (11:54):
In fact, he's gone to our press room because there's
a big announcement to be made.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
A hit.
Speaker 9 (12:01):
This game is handle.
Speaker 15 (12:02):
It's Cory's Little, Corey's Little, made possible by Construction Pathways.
There's never been a better time for a career construction
search Construction Pathways.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
Less than two.
Speaker 4 (12:13):
Weeks away from this little league game, it's going to
be a lot of fun. We're going to be at
South Logan Davis Partas at West End.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
Yeah, on Sunday, the fifteenth of June.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
Two sides, the North Side and the South Side.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
And for the last couple of weeks we have been
building these teams with these amazing boys and girls age
from eleven to thirteen.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
Yes, and so now there has been a major development.
Speaker 4 (12:41):
So Corey, doubt, have you got announcement there?
Speaker 2 (12:46):
Corey can here.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (12:47):
I like to take this moment to inform the team
supporters that half of the Twins, Taiger's Mason, has decided
to step away due to personal reasons. From the south
Side Kangamus, I like edvertises of the importance of respect
the Mason's privacy during this time and expressed the team's
full support for Mason's decision and understanding of the challenges
(13:08):
that have come with balancing personal commitments and team responsibilities.
The selectors have called an emergency meeting to discuss replacements,
and we'll give them all the information in due time.
I like to assure the team and support us that
plans are in place to ensure the team continuity and
performance in Mason's absence.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
I like to open up now to the four for.
Speaker 14 (13:29):
Some questions, but please respect, please respect his privacy.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
But Corey, Corey, Corey, let me ask you what about
his twin? He said, this is twins, the siblings, Mackenzie,
Mason's twin.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
What is going to happen. Are we going to be
splitting up these two? This is terrible.
Speaker 14 (13:44):
Well, mackenzie has informed us that he is still willing
and able and is fully committed to our team. So
I have the full support of our team that McKenzie
is going to fill his role.
Speaker 4 (13:56):
So do you have any Corey, Corey, do you have
any more details? Like is it injury related?
Speaker 14 (14:02):
There have no comment on Mason?
Speaker 3 (14:03):
Thank you? What about Okay, Corey? What about rumors of
a salary cap breach?
Speaker 2 (14:07):
Sorry?
Speaker 3 (14:08):
Speaker 4 (14:09):
Okay, Corey, what has Matt you Lett the coach of
the North Side and say about it?
Speaker 14 (14:13):
No comment? Need has been an ass.
Speaker 5 (14:15):
I'm going.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
He's walked away.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
And he's.
Speaker 8 (14:20):
Been an ass.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
As you ever heard Wayne Bennett say, he's been an
art pretty much?
Speaker 3 (14:26):
I think you might have actually just could hear it clearly?
Speaker 15 (14:28):
Yeah, Ronie, Now with the podcast.
Speaker 9 (14:37):
This scam is handle.
Speaker 15 (14:39):
Its Cory's little Corey's little league made possible by construction Pathways.
There's never been a better time for a career in
construction search construction pathways.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
So Cory's little league. We've had a big controversy this morning.
Speaker 4 (14:52):
Knowing that Mason, who was one of the twins, Mason
and Mackenzie, has had to pull out of the game
on the fifteenth of June.
Speaker 3 (14:59):
He's got other commitments.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
I know it's less than two weeks away. I mean tonight,
it's going to be the first training. We were hoping
that twin combination was just going to push them.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
There's always there is. Cory had a front the press
only half an hour ago. I might I take this moment.
Speaker 14 (15:16):
To inform the team supporters that half of the twins
Taiger's Mason has decided to step away due to personal reasons.
From the South Side keangamous.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
But Cory, what about his twin?
Speaker 14 (15:26):
Mackenzie has in formed us that he is still willing
and able Corey.
Speaker 4 (15:29):
What has mattcha let the coach of the North Side
and say about it?
Speaker 14 (15:32):
No comment need has been an ass I'm going to.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
Call out the press conference through the micdown and was off.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
Now that was bad.
Speaker 4 (15:41):
It's bad news for Mason, but it's good news for
someone else because we've had so many people that did
want to play in Corey's little league. Well.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
As soon as that announcement came through, the selectors went
into a private meeting and went through all of the
other kids that had been desperate to make one of
the teams, and we have chosen our replacement player. It
is Savannah, and we have Savannah's mum, Kayla with us.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
Hello Kayla of bo Desert.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
Morning Morning, Cala.
Speaker 4 (16:08):
Now this is your entry, or rather Savannah's entry was
one of those that were like, if only we had
more spots, she would definitely be playing. And so this
has worked out so well.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
Kayla as Savannah can hear us in the car right now,
she can.
Speaker 8 (16:22):
We're actually at home, we haven't left school yet.
Speaker 6 (16:26):
Well, tell us a bit about Savannah.
Speaker 8 (16:29):
Savannah is a quiet achiever. She absolutely loves footy. She's
been playing for about four years now and this is
her first year on an all girls team. But she's
had some struggles with some other teams' she's a little
bit bigger than the other kids, so she's been called
some not so nice names in some games before, which
is it's hard to hear because they're all out there
(16:51):
to have fun. It's been hard on her being called
those names, but her team is stuck up for her
when those things have happened. But it does make it hard.
Like I said, she gets out there and gives it
her all. She's not going to be the fastest or
the best, but she's going to give her her best
every time.
Speaker 14 (17:08):
That's what we need then, because that's what this game
all about. It's about fun, bringing the passion. And it
looks like Savannah is going to be a perfect fit.
Speaker 8 (17:16):
She's excited, she likes it, she loves the forty. She's
been listening to the radio every morning and listening to
who's playing and things like that on our way to school.
So yeah, I said, she'll give it her all. She
may not finish first, but she's going to finish and
she's going to do everything you ask of her.
Speaker 6 (17:32):
Hey, Savannah, can you hear us? Would you like to
be in Corey's little League?
Speaker 4 (17:43):
Welcome, Welcome Savannah, and thank you Kayla for registing Savannah
as well.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
Make sure thank you for having her an awesome day
for her.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
And definitely can you come down to training tonight.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
I know it's late night.
Speaker 8 (17:55):
Yes, I've spoke to my partner. He's said to let
him know and he's going to leave work early and
get it.
Speaker 4 (18:01):
There and do it perfect unreal, So if you do
want to get along and see the game as well,
see the Kangaroos from the south side taking on the
Dino Knights from the north side. It's on the fifteenth
of June and you want to get there by about
one thirty to be there just before kickoff for Corey's
Little League at Davies Park, West End.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
Massive there be there as early as you want. Yeah,
it's a great footage.
Speaker 14 (18:25):
So there's all there's a lot on, but the main
part is before the main game.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
Corey's Little League. Now with the podcast.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
Halfway through the podcast, so Todd and you, Maddis, we've
worked together for years.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
So you've got these are our producers.
Speaker 4 (18:51):
They're in the studio and they've got a sick gift
that we've received promotionally today.
Speaker 8 (18:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
Big Box.
Speaker 5 (18:58):
Yeah, it's Huge Box. I've been obsessed with these for
a very long time. I've been trying to get a
bit more fit. I've been starting to run, eating a
little healthier and this company is fantastic, the huge Big Box,
which is loaded up with so many good things.
Speaker 10 (19:14):
So many goodies.
Speaker 16 (19:15):
So the story is, Oh my goodness received a gift
from his friends over the ditch in New Zealand and
it was this packet of no sugar added lollies from
this amazing company called fun Day.
Speaker 11 (19:29):
Right, and he was raving about these lollies and he's going, oh,
they've got a new lollipop coming out.
Speaker 10 (19:33):
I'm really excited to try it. I'm obsessed these lollies.
And I said, hey, I actually got.
Speaker 11 (19:36):
An email from this company the other day saying like,
do you want some pr and he goes, shut up,
I am obsessed, And so I obviously went back and said, yeah, like,
send us a box.
Speaker 10 (19:47):
And they sent us way more than just lollies, guys.
Speaker 3 (19:50):
And it's titled Hi Tom, Hi Tom.
Speaker 2 (19:54):
They meant to.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
Now this box is the size, like this is what
you would deliver a microwave in.
Speaker 3 (20:01):
It's a huge box. Yeah okay, And so you got
the postcard Hi Tom.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
Yeah, Hi Tom?
Speaker 3 (20:08):
Some funda what that is?
Speaker 2 (20:13):
Pineapple? And a dingy? Okay? Love that for us?
Speaker 3 (20:17):
The bottles water, water bottles, a tote bag.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
Okay. I was going to say, do we not have
something edible?
Speaker 12 (20:26):
Love?
Speaker 10 (20:26):
We've got so many peckets.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
Yeah, what are they including.
Speaker 10 (20:33):
For the limited edition koalas?
Speaker 2 (20:37):
I'm not sure I should open it?
Speaker 4 (20:38):
Do them open it?
Speaker 2 (20:38):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (20:40):
You are healthy, you are very excited. Now what are
they using for sweetener?
Speaker 10 (20:47):
Yeah?
Speaker 14 (20:49):
You healthy.
Speaker 4 (20:50):
Well, I'm just going to finance because if it's because
I've heard about some of these diet lollies that if
you have enough, they have a laxative effect.
Speaker 5 (20:56):
It can't happen, don't. It's no added sugar, So this
is a little bit of sugar, just a delicious added sugar.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
I love how excited you are lingreenies.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
That's pretty tasty.
Speaker 6 (21:11):
That's a bit of fun.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
And there's another whole box. Okay, they call that a snake. Look,
kip keep. They call that a snake.
Speaker 3 (21:17):
That's so tiny.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
That's like a stiff too.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
Acre, starch, chickory roots, fiber. Okay, no, it's Stevie. This
shouldn't be too bad.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
They're so choy.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
Take a while to eat them, and you're eating leaf sugar.
Speaker 14 (21:39):
Remember rollerup?
Speaker 4 (21:40):
Yeah, I remember it.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
Excited because you're excited. That's it.
Speaker 10 (21:44):
That there list to Thomas even bitter.
Speaker 7 (21:49):
They're not bad.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
Does you compare that boat you got Corey?
Speaker 7 (21:54):
It wasn't a fret.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
But I just sponsible now podcast.
Speaker 1 (22:04):
I gotta be really honest about me renovating because things
have gone up so much in the last six months.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
Cost yeah, cost wise.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
Like and with particularly with the announcements of the Olympics,
people have got super busy and just exponentially months for month.
It just seems like all the cost of actual materials
has gone up. And that is if you can find
a builder that's available, and.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
Any decision, what I've discovered recently, any decision you make
is ten thousand dollars.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
Yeah, well you want to do that, that's ten thousand dollars.
That's ten thousands.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
Very cautious about doing this because you know, I'm on
my own too, so I just don't want to spend
money unnecessarily. But I always bought this little worker's cottage
because it needed like the kitchen's not great, and I
don't mean aesthetically, I mean it's not like there's a
lot of things wrong that.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
Needs to be fixed.
Speaker 3 (22:53):
Right, doesn't work, so they yeah.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
It kind of doesn't work. Now for me.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
That's not necessarily as diabolical for someone who cooks better
than me, but just things like that have been kind
of problematic. And so we were supposed to start yesterday,
but the rain across the weekend made everything really sodden.
And it's been discovered that. So I was going to
start with a retaining wall, and it's been discovered because
of just some other issues with the neighbors that I
(23:19):
probably need to retaining walls.
Speaker 3 (23:22):
Terrific? Was that ten thousand dollars?
Speaker 15 (23:25):
No?
Speaker 1 (23:26):
But and then you know, I'm looking at other things
and I'm just going, surely some of this stuff I
can do myself, and I'm not glorified around this. Like
my spare room painted with Olivia and my boyfriend.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
We did that ourselves.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
Of course you can. You can take on those sort
of things. But I was in Bunnings yesterday for.
Speaker 6 (23:42):
The most boring three hours of my life.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
Three hours. It's a lot of time, but it.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
Was heaving with people.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
You were asking for help, So clearly they were trying
to do stuff themselves. Have you how much like what
kind of things have you taken on?
Speaker 2 (24:01):
And did they work out?
Speaker 4 (24:02):
My mate Pete, him and his partner Amanda there, they're
renovating at the moment and they're lifting their house and
they needed to put a because they're part of the lift.
They're putting a power pole out in front of electrical
power pole, a private one.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
They didn't do electrics by themselves, not the.
Speaker 4 (24:16):
Electrics, but the pole, which is five meters and about
one hundred and fifty kilos. Now, normally you need a
crane for that, but instead Pete got me and Toby
to come around and his dad and the three and
the four of us managed it like with straps and
stuff like. It was terrifying. So we should never have
done it. It was terrifying. We had to get it
off and fell on the house. Like we agreed that
(24:39):
we're all going to run in different directions and oh.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
So you only lose one of you?
Speaker 14 (24:43):
Yes, so they had an escape plane.
Speaker 4 (24:46):
Yeah, and then I had to and I've been on
voltarean for about a week because my back.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
Is rooted from lifting this pole.
Speaker 15 (24:55):
Right.
Speaker 3 (24:55):
Yeah, it was a terrible idea.
Speaker 2 (24:57):
Did you get it in?
Speaker 6 (24:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (24:58):
We did it success. I'll show you the video. It's
so stressful to watch because you guys, one of you
is going to die.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
I'm hugging this pole. He climbs the ladder, pushing it
up higher. It's terrifying. Goodness, we should never have done it.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
I was thinking more like in kitchen cat, like you
know when you can get the lamond off the cupboards
and put new lemonade.
Speaker 3 (25:22):
On re lamination. Have you done that?
Speaker 4 (25:25):
That sounds difficult, I'll that's the sort of stuff you're
talking about.
Speaker 3 (25:30):
Door Well, I'm.
Speaker 6 (25:31):
Just thinking that that's where you save money.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
Right, I think you can.
Speaker 3 (25:35):
Someone told me you can paint over laminatee you sand
it back and you.
Speaker 2 (25:38):
Can get I know, all this stuff.
Speaker 3 (25:40):
I'm pretty sure you can.
Speaker 2 (25:41):
Supposed to be the useless one?
Speaker 17 (25:43):
Can I chime in from the newsroom. So my partner Jesse,
and I just bought a house and it's a it's
a real fix rupper. I feel like that's an understatement,
but the bathroom is asbestos and it's it is really
like aged, yellowed.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
And that kind of thing.
Speaker 10 (25:56):
And I just found out you can buy.
Speaker 17 (25:57):
Like fake tiles, so like three D tile looking stickers
that you can retile the tiles with stickers and then
you just put like fake silicon, well real silicon, but
like you know, you fake silicon them through the edges
so it does seal them on. But then you don't
need to well you can't remove the tiles without removing
the asbestos. So it's like the cheap a poor man's
(26:20):
way giving a room a facelift.
Speaker 3 (26:22):
Just stickers over.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
I can't move yet.
Speaker 6 (26:25):
You're not going to remove the asbestos yourself?
Speaker 15 (26:27):
No?
Speaker 2 (26:28):
No, no, no, absolutely not.
Speaker 17 (26:29):
But yeah, that's kind of like, you know, it's thousands
and thousands of dollars. I don't know if you can
put stickers on the asbestos.
Speaker 2 (26:34):
But on the tile.
Speaker 3 (26:39):
If you've got a hack, that's pretty incredible.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
We are clearly clueless.
Speaker 1 (26:43):
If anyone's got like a clever thing that will save
your money, that can update your house, I'm.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
All, so you're not replace in the kitchen, Well, no,
I'm going.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
To try and keep as much of it as possible
because it's cheaper that way.
Speaker 14 (26:56):
If the cabinets are fine, just replaces doors.
Speaker 6 (26:59):
Well that's what I'm saying. Don't you just replace the lemonade?
Speaker 3 (27:01):
No, but you just your doors?
Speaker 14 (27:03):
Oh, instead of hold new cabinetry, the fine your doors.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
There's a second of Bunning's Corey. I'll take you. I'll
share it.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
To bumminges.
Speaker 3 (27:17):
Ro now with the podcast was doing some renos.
Speaker 2 (27:24):
Are you calling me romo now? Because I'm like, I'm a.
Speaker 4 (27:26):
Renovating around in your boots.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
I do have steelcat boots do, and I feel really
important when I'm putting them on and I stop around
and they're like baby blue with pink trim.
Speaker 4 (27:39):
Yeah, I know I could, just you would have bought
the boots well before you did any renovations, get the
outfits so much.
Speaker 2 (27:49):
For all the people that are messaging me.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
I just got one from Trish who says, just listening
to you this morning talking about renovating. I've renovated many
houses over the years. Just painting the exterior of an
average house can save you eighteen thousand dollars.
Speaker 12 (28:05):
Wow, yeah, oh yeah massive, that's big jobs.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
Yeah, demo yourself where you can. Hey, Corey, you'd be
good with the sledge.
Speaker 3 (28:13):
You haven't taken up.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
Bunnings and using your fab kitchen from Bunnings or Ika
could save you up to twenty.
Speaker 3 (28:21):
K pre fab kitchen. That's not a bad idea, Cory's idea.
Speaker 4 (28:25):
If you're changing the doors, getting the doors from from
somewhere like that.
Speaker 2 (28:28):
We are clearly clueless. Rebecca and Sherwood, what would you
like to say?
Speaker 13 (28:33):
Hi, good morning, good morning everywhere?
Speaker 2 (28:36):
Hello.
Speaker 8 (28:37):
Hello.
Speaker 13 (28:37):
When I knew, I repainted a lot of my furniture
and I didn't want to give me furniture is so expensive,
and also I did YouTube tutorial is on, you know,
take you to Mozi Nette some doors and windows because
I was getting coats for like two hundred bucks.
Speaker 9 (28:57):
Yeah per window.
Speaker 13 (28:59):
I went to Bunning's got everything for like eighty bucks.
Saved myself about fifteen hundred dollars.
Speaker 4 (29:05):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (29:05):
So you used to all your own flyas screens? Yeah,
I did it all YouTube. That's it's a good time here.
It's a great tip, okay.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
Ben On our text line O four O nine nine
seven three nine seven three says, redo your kitchen with
jew Lux paints designed for cabinets and change the handles over.
Speaker 2 (29:21):
It gives a fresh new look.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
So yeah, you can paint over the laminade. I think
you just give a little sand Okay, care is not.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
Happy without anyone to change my doors?
Speaker 2 (29:31):
Right and will and gabba? What do you reckon?
Speaker 8 (29:34):
Yeah? I go.
Speaker 9 (29:36):
Look, I'm a tradingum, a painter by trade, and I
know that I do and a few other trades. What
they have is they will have like a consultancy service,
so they'll have like you know, it's like a couple
of hundred bucks. And what they do, or what I do,
is I go out to site and if it's something
that they want to do themselves, like painting or related,
then I will go through their job, give them advice
(29:57):
on how I will tackle it, what potential issues sell has,
and what's the best way of doing it. Because yes,
painting is something that you can potentially do, but if
you if you have no clue, you can make more
of a mess than what you actually realize have you made?
Speaker 3 (30:10):
What you what are you suggesting?
Speaker 4 (30:12):
Right? I mean, if per chance that you were hopeless
and had no clue, you can get yourself big trouble.
Speaker 9 (30:25):
But it does help you a lot. Like if you're
painting the outside the house, yes you can take yourself
you know twenty thirty forty thousand, But then what if
that contains lead paint? Are you going to contain that?
When you know all those things? So if you get
someone who's been painting for a long time and has
done all that things and say, look, this is how
I'll tackle it, this is what I would do. There's
some materials you know, and to make your job a
lot easier. And then you can also what I what
(30:47):
some people often what I do is well you can
use my trade discount to purchase your paint. Also in
that seat, you know, so.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
Get in a consultant for that particular area, and even
though it's a couple of hundred bucks, it will save
you that what's your.
Speaker 9 (31:00):
Company called rod painting strokes.
Speaker 4 (31:03):
Painting Strokes, Let's let's give you a hundred bucks to
spend it. Game over again, a bit of front of
one of the many game locations.
Speaker 3 (31:10):
Mate the high pages, high pages pages.
Speaker 14 (31:16):
You're put in the job and then it's.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
Like, yeah, many of the uber things.
Speaker 14 (31:24):
So is it like that they send you the sec
photo and you say what you want done and blah
blah blah, and then it sends you the right people.
Speaker 2 (31:31):
To do it and for tradees.
Speaker 14 (31:33):
Yeah, but honestly, what I've realized just bond your doors.
Speaker 15 (31:39):
You.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
Get a new doors.
Speaker 14 (31:41):
Okay, with you trying to stand and page.
Speaker 4 (31:50):
Now with Courios, we've just booked an end of year holiday.
This will be our first family holiday with with all
four of us, with Siena as well, because so far
we've gone as far as the Sunshine Coast and that's
just been torturous, she cried the whole way. But we're
hoping by the end of the year Christmas time, we
(32:11):
might be able to take a flight.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
So we've booked a trip to Fiji.
Speaker 6 (32:14):
Fiji is a great place. Yes, they hid so much.
Speaker 4 (32:18):
Yeah, we went there with raf and it was great.
He loved it so much. And so we're hoping that
great record. I don't know if we'll be getting it any.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
Golf, but maybe yes.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
So who's going on this trip?
Speaker 3 (32:29):
So obviously we've got Naomi and Raffi and Siena.
Speaker 14 (32:34):
It's good start.
Speaker 4 (32:35):
And we also invited Naomi's parents, Aidan and Pearl.
Speaker 2 (32:42):
Are you paying for them?
Speaker 4 (32:44):
No, but I got them a very good deal. I
found them a good deal online and I said, hey, guys,
very cheap trip right now, and I can book it
for you and you can pay me.
Speaker 14 (32:54):
Did they want to come?
Speaker 3 (32:55):
Well, Pearl's interested, pearls very excited.
Speaker 14 (32:59):
It's a yesterday question. Did they want to come?
Speaker 3 (33:01):
Pearl wanted to come. Aiden is reluctant. He doesn't like
to travel too much.
Speaker 6 (33:05):
And why are they going?
Speaker 3 (33:07):
Then? Well, because they need a holiday. They need to
because they never get to travel. They never get to
travel for them.
Speaker 1 (33:15):
Doesn't want to go, so there is clearly another motive.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
Well, Aidan is well aware of.
Speaker 4 (33:21):
Well, they will be excellent at looking after see na
while we go out by the pool and have cocktails.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
Right. People always say, well, Raf can hang out, he's
not a lot of trouble. And I mean he can
go to kids club as well.
Speaker 14 (33:34):
I'm saying that kids clubs over there are incredible.
Speaker 3 (33:36):
Yeah, but when you've got kids club is not no
good for under two.
Speaker 14 (33:39):
But then you get a babysitter.
Speaker 3 (33:41):
Yeah yeah, but Pearls.
Speaker 6 (33:45):
You know, does Pearl no?
Speaker 2 (33:47):
You are doing this? Like does she know?
Speaker 1 (33:50):
I mean, it's lovely when your son in law says, hey,
come on holidays with holiday with you, But it's because
I enjoy their company, that's not Why does she know?
Speaker 2 (34:00):
Why does she actually know?
Speaker 1 (34:02):
Why have you articulated to the beautiful nanny Pearl that
you are trying to get her there at her own
expense so you can have a great holiday and she babysit.
Speaker 3 (34:14):
I haven't said that to her exactly. I've just said
that it'd be great for them to come.
Speaker 2 (34:18):
No, no, wait, let's get her up. Let's tell her
or Pearls actually Pearls at home, she's.
Speaker 14 (34:26):
Well someone to go on a holiday and not pay
for anything.
Speaker 3 (34:28):
Well, you know, I felt I got them a great deal.
I got one thousands of dollars off retail price.
Speaker 10 (34:33):
Aiden doesn't want to go.
Speaker 2 (34:35):
Okay, I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (34:36):
If Nanny Pearl is at your place, we are calling
her and we are getting her up.
Speaker 3 (34:41):
And you I'm going to be honest, I want the truth.
You can't handle Ron here now with the pot.
Speaker 4 (34:54):
Just talking about my end of year trip book to
do a holiday for the whole family to Fiji.
Speaker 1 (34:59):
It's a wonderful place to go, and they do do
lots of really great deals because I've been watching it
so for you know, really good inexpensive family holiday, it's
not too bad. But the reason why it's also so
good is they take care of kids.
Speaker 4 (35:10):
Yes, they are great at that, especially when they're over too,
because then there's kids club. But the undertoos need to
sort of constant nannying. But anyway, that's not gonna be
a problem for me because we have our next guest
who's joining us now, I think, can you hear us?
Speaker 3 (35:22):
Their Pearl, Hey Pearl, it's Kip going. They're good. I've
got Robin and Corey with me as well.
Speaker 6 (35:28):
Hell I lovely Pearl.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
I've never met you, but you're already my favorite. The
reason why I love you so much Pearl, is that
you make.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
Kip look good?
Speaker 7 (35:43):
Did you share that?
Speaker 4 (35:45):
I have shared, Yes, I have shared that you always
make us look good. And you you're very You're you're
a lovely nanny and there and the kids.
Speaker 3 (35:51):
Love you and that is why.
Speaker 4 (35:55):
And because we were just talking about our plans for
the end of the year that we're going to go
for a family holiday to Fiji. Yeah, and that I
have not insisted, but I've certainly asked for you and
Aiden to come along with us.
Speaker 6 (36:08):
Yes, do you know wine any Pearl?
Speaker 7 (36:12):
I know because he because I am the babysitter. Again
did he say that though?
Speaker 3 (36:17):
Did he tell you.
Speaker 7 (36:17):
That your no, No, not directly, Corey, but you know,
and sort of a roundabout way to say, you know, well,
if you don't come to any pol we better leave
Cno with strangers.
Speaker 2 (36:31):
So he's emotionally blackmail.
Speaker 13 (36:33):
He's done, Chipster.
Speaker 7 (36:37):
Is that right?
Speaker 3 (36:38):
That's semi true. I mean I did tell you.
Speaker 4 (36:40):
I just I just said, look, we know we'll have
other nannies there, so you don't have to come. We'll
just give them to whatever random is at the resort.
Speaker 14 (36:46):
But if you're you're you're not paying for a babysitter.
Speaker 3 (36:50):
Now, so does that mean he paid? Did he pay
for your flats?
Speaker 7 (36:53):
No? No, we actually were going.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
To pay for that, the accommodation.
Speaker 7 (36:58):
Everything that. He's going to pay for our food and
you're for the massie yes.
Speaker 1 (37:04):
Yes, hang on, you're going to Fiji eat, yes, and
you're not going to get it for free, even though
your sole responsibility is to babysit.
Speaker 2 (37:20):
Your grandchild, which is lovely.
Speaker 7 (37:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (37:23):
And is it true that your husband Aiden does not
want to go.
Speaker 7 (37:28):
No, well, wasn't Keen Eden, wasn't Keen. That's absolutely true.
Speaker 3 (37:34):
But that's only because he was.
Speaker 4 (37:35):
He doesn't want to He doesn't want to go four
hours on a plane without smoking.
Speaker 7 (37:39):
That's great.
Speaker 14 (37:40):
Probably we've worked out so you're paying for the food
and all the message.
Speaker 3 (37:48):
I haven't agreed to that, we just did. No, that's
Pearls just having a laugh.
Speaker 14 (37:53):
Well, you're saving money on babysitters exactly.
Speaker 4 (37:59):
Well, I'll tell you what we'll do is we'll go
to the breakfast buffet and I'll grab enough things a
little lunchbox so that you've got lunch.
Speaker 3 (38:05):
You're paying breakfast, lunch and messages every day. Some fruit
fruit ball?
Speaker 4 (38:12):
How good?
Speaker 3 (38:12):
Za?
Speaker 14 (38:14):
Come now, you just don't need to take any spending money.
Speaker 17 (38:17):
How good that.
Speaker 3 (38:20):
Fellow.
Speaker 4 (38:21):
You're going to need some spending money, are you not?
If you didn't want to look after your daughter, you
shouldn't have had it. We always say that, thanks, see her.
Speaker 7 (38:35):
Tomorrow, lovely chatting you lovely chatting to Robin Corey And yeah.
Speaker 1 (38:39):
Yeah, of course you're seeing it tomorrow because you can
actually live with it.
Speaker 3 (38:44):
And can we have some nan tomorrow please with.
