Do you know how every time you say this to me,
every time, I still can't get over that your parents
travel down from the Sunny Coast every Sunday night to
look after your child.
Speaker 7 (00:52):
You know how lucky you are?
Speaker 4 (00:54):
Yes, extremely lucky and and and so like and.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
Raffi to be so loved by so many people, I know, Yeah,

Yes, I mean my sister would tell me to go job.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Yes, because mom and dad got the cot. Well, Mum's

Speaker 4 (01:16):
Can you hear us?
Speaker 2 (01:17):

Speaker 4 (01:27):
Okay, she switched. Okay, interesting.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
You know I've been talking up your game, Rick, because
you get up early and you and you never fail
to do it.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
It's amazing. I do well.
Speaker 8 (01:36):
She does sleep in a bit though, she like gets
about seven and I n usually go surfing beforehand, but
I now come home around seven to give a hot drink.
Speaker 5 (01:44):
So sweet.
Speaker 8 (01:46):
You kick the marriage alive.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Okay, great, okay, now, Rick RAFFI came into me last
night at about three o'clock and said he was scared
and needed someone to come and lie down next to him,
which I did, and then but I did mind. I said, now,
don't forget Rick and Lisa are here, so if you
wake up again.
Speaker 4 (02:06):
Did you get any visitors last night?
Speaker 8 (02:07):
No? No, he came in about half hour ago. I've
been a little bit and we've been playing trucks ever since.
Speaker 5 (02:13):
Okay, how cool is that?
Speaker 3 (02:15):
Yes, well, I forgot something Rick as Lisa around.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
Okay, you want to throw it on issues.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Hello here, I am.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
Have you met Robin before? Lace?
Speaker 9 (02:25):
Hi?
Speaker 1 (02:26):
I think I feel like I know Robin.
Speaker 6 (02:27):
Yes, well, hopefully we'll get to actually meet in person today.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Is there a party or something happening?
Speaker 4 (02:37):
Yes, there is. And I forgot I forgot to tell you.
Speaker 6 (02:40):
To tell sister that your brother is coming into the
studio with his children and two guinea pigs.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Yeah, everyone's coming in for a Maxibond party and Roseye
will be here Maximon and of course Jesse who is
that's the littlest girl of Luke and that's Luke Raffi's favorite.
So so we're just wondering would you be able to
bring Raffi in?
Speaker 4 (03:04):
You two come in.
Speaker 10 (03:05):
And bring sure?
Speaker 4 (03:07):
Okay, work that out, okay, nice.
Speaker 8 (03:10):
To make the tea and breakfast in bed.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
Person work Okay, that's the morning ritual. Okay, who's going
to look after?
Speaker 11 (03:21):
Right?
Speaker 10 (03:24):
Chatting?
Speaker 6 (03:25):
Get into chat to us.
Speaker 8 (03:26):
He's so funny, like tell us some stories.
Speaker 7 (03:30):
Oh how sweet?
Speaker 6 (03:31):
Well, I hope he keeps chatting while he's on the radio, but.
Speaker 7 (03:34):
That would be alsome.
Speaker 6 (03:35):
And of course if you're just joining us, it's because
your niece has gone viral. With over a million views
of saving her guinea pig from a snake.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Yep from a python in her backyard, swung it around
her hair. The video has gone viral, so it's it's
just after seven. Lease, that's that's the other bit of
good news. So you've got you've got forty minutes to
turn it around, if that's all right?
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Right, getting ready?
Speaker 4 (03:57):
I love you.
Speaker 12 (03:58):
She's just like your mum.
Speaker 4 (04:00):
She is a lot like mine.
Speaker 5 (04:01):
He's so sweet.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
Yeah, they're best friends. They hang out all the time.
Speaker 6 (04:03):
Oh yeah, is that why you're the middle child who's
always feeling left out?
Speaker 2 (04:06):
Yes, a little bit.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
You have to pick on that wound. Not this morning, Robin,
it's a good day.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
You're listening to the Robin and Kid podcast.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
You haven't seen it. It's on my socials. It's on
the KIS ninety seven three socials.
Speaker 7 (04:23):
It's had over a million hues.
Speaker 13 (04:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
On the tele just one site on the Telegraph it's
got a million views, and then everywhere. I actually had
a had a listener who has contacted me before I
thought was just a Brisbane person but also follows news over.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
In Hong Kong.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
Oh wow, and sent me a link to say it's
all in Chinese writing. I coudn't understand it, but I
could see the photo of the snake and.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
Rosy, oh my goodness. So it's traveled to Hong Kong News.
It's just around the world.
Speaker 6 (04:50):
So if you don't know what we're talking about, please
check out the video. It's hilarious because twelve year old
Rosie Kip's niece has saved her guinea pig, Maxie Bond
from a snake.
Speaker 4 (04:57):
Yes, when we managed to talk to Rosie about the moment, I.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Usually let my guinea pigs outside, and I went outside
and then I saw maxibon and then he starts screaming
and his head is underneath this little spade which was
covering the python, and I'm like, oh crap, Like he
wraps around his neck and then I'm like, I should
swing it around so, you know, just get his neck.
So my dad calms out after hearing my like really
(05:23):
loud scream, and he gets the snake and he sort
of whacked it on the ground a few times, so
then the guinea pig pops off. He sort of runs
a different direction because you know, he's like gone to miles.
He's be like strangled and.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
And you can see on the video that as you
swung it, it hit a few bits of furture side. I
don't believe the guinea pig survived that part. And then
I saw Luke, my brother eventually throws the snake over
a fence. The snake, I'm told, lived, but everyone, including
the snake and Maxibon the guinea pig are fine. And
it's time now to cross to the limousine. On the
(05:58):
day of the Grammys, Rosie Whiteman with Maxibon, who is
in a limousine which with big things to Lemoso Limousines
providing luxury ground transportation Australia Wardlemoso dot com dot au so.
Speaker 4 (06:15):
I believe they're on the way to the studio right now.
Speaker 6 (06:17):
Hey, Rosie, Hey, how is it?
Speaker 1 (06:21):
It's so fun there's like led lights and there's music
and it's so cool.
Speaker 7 (06:26):
And how's Maxibond going?
Speaker 6 (06:28):
Does does he realize just how special today is for him?
Speaker 10 (06:32):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Yeah, he's like loving the famous life right now. He's
not getting rush, he's getting blowed right, He just loves it.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
I see, Rosie, that you've taken the opportunity. I noticed
this on on YouTube over the weekend. You've taken the
opportunity to launch your YouTube channel.
Speaker 4 (06:48):
Is it Rosie's Pigtails? Is that what it's called. Yeah,
And you gave Maxibon a wash and a bath.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
That's part of and this is this is what you're
hoping to do on a regular basis, just have like
a little pigtail updates or rather guinea pick updates.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Yeah, it's probably it's basically just their everyday life and
like what their routines are in the morning and like
something fun or like what they've done over the weekend.
Speaker 6 (07:15):
That's a bit crazy, right, I mean you wonder what
a guinea pig is thinking. Do you think what what
do you think Maxy Bonn has gone through over the
last week.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
He's probably thinking food Foodoo.
Speaker 4 (07:28):
So there's not a lot going on, is there.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
It's fine, Hey, talk to us about some of the
interviews that you've done. We saw you on Sunrise and
Today and Carl loved you and all that. But were
you guys on Fox News in the States?
Speaker 7 (07:41):
Yes?
Speaker 14 (07:42):
So I was on.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
Fox News in What's It Good?
Speaker 3 (07:46):
In?
Speaker 1 (07:47):
Was in America?
Speaker 15 (07:48):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (07:48):
America?
Speaker 1 (07:49):
Yeah, And I went on so many other ones for
Australia and it's just crazy, like I went for I
think I went for one in Asia somewhere. It's pretty crazy.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
You don't even know where you're sitting in a rock
and roll I don't even know who I spoke to.
Speaker 12 (08:03):
Just now, Have you got anything out of it, Rosie?
Speaker 6 (08:08):
Has there been any sort of you know, has it
elevated you at schools that people care more about you?
Speaker 1 (08:15):
It's just usual because like when I told my friends
and I showed them the video before when like you
know vils, they were like, oh my gosh, I can
definitely just like you loved your guinea pigs, because every
time I have a sleepover, I'll always be holding a
guinea pig, or like we'll be washing guinea pigs. It's
always with the guinea pigs. So they weren't that surprise,
(08:37):
but they were still pretty happy for me.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
Well, we do have a surprise for you in here today.
I know We've got a We've got a Maxi Bond party.
You guys are coming in. We've got plenty of lolly snakes,
which about ice cream, maximout ice cream, so and a
big surprise. So so you're on your way in the limo. Look,
do a couple of laps make yourselves feel great, and
then and we'll see you in studio in about twenty minutes.
Speaker 11 (08:59):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (09:00):
All right, Okay, she just gets off the Phonecus, I
don't even know who I was talking about.
Speaker 5 (09:06):
I think it was uncle Kid.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
It might have been a radio station in Vegas.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
The Robin and Jit Podcast.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
We're live from the Maxibond Party. We're Rosie my niece.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
All the white mens are here.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
Rosie, my niece, who famously saved Maxibon, a guinea pig
from a big python, is a join us. I love
that you've done your hair. You've got an all dressed
up for today, Rosy.
Speaker 4 (09:32):
Thank you. Yes.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
Now, I had to give you some advice actually over
the weekend because you were getting so bored of telling
the story over and over again.
Speaker 12 (09:40):
Hey oh yes, like uncle like nice.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
Yes, you've got to pretend it's in your audience and
no one's heard it before.
Speaker 4 (09:48):
Just got to tell that story.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
So but so just one more time if you can,
for those that missed it, because I actually saw a
couple of kids over the weekend who hadn't heard what happened. So,
so it was about five point thirty at night you
went out to put Maxibon in its pen.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
Yep.
Speaker 11 (10:03):
So we were just having a usual Sunday afternoon and
I just go out there because you know, it was
getting duck so and I was like, well, you know,
there might be a snake out there, it might be
something out there, so I'm just going to get them
just in case they.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
Come out early. Love it, you're hay carry on, yep.
Speaker 11 (10:23):
So then I go in, I see Maxibon and I'm like, oh, well,
you know, he's in the bush. He's sort of supposed
to be in his pen, but I usually leave the
door open just in case, you know, so they can
eat some grass. But there's this little bush behind their
pen where it used to be, and it was very visual,
so it wasn't like full bush you can't see anything.
(10:44):
And I see him and I'm like, oh, okay, I'm
just so, you know, go get him.
Speaker 7 (10:48):
But he just runs a different direction.
Speaker 11 (10:51):
Then he starts screaming screaming, screaming, screaming so loud, and
I'm like.
Speaker 4 (10:56):
What the hell has happened to this poor pig.
Speaker 11 (11:00):
So then I see him and his head is sort
of locked underneath this little spade, and when I lift
his spade up, there's a snake wrapping around his neck
and you can see it getting tighter and tighter and tighter.
So then I'm like, grab snake. I didn't think I
just grabbed it, and it was crazy. Everyone was screaming.
My voice is just recovered from it. You should have
(11:21):
heard me last week. It was croaky.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
As an instinct straight away was just to spin it
around and around and hope that it would let go.
Speaker 11 (11:27):
Yeah, because if it was still tinying around his neck,
if like I got the spade and you know, like
tried to end its life, it would have probably killed.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
Him instantly because you know, the snake.
Speaker 11 (11:38):
Would have fed, so it would the snake would have
had frights.
Speaker 4 (11:40):
Well, okay, but everyone had lived.
Speaker 7 (11:43):
That's the amazing everyone has lived.
Speaker 11 (11:45):
A snake is out there living its life and probably
will never go on our property again.
Speaker 3 (11:50):
A mathematician I saw on one of the comments, because
it's had over a million streams just on one site alone,
and there's a ton of the other's. But a mathematician
actually did the sums having watched the video and worked
out that maxibon if it was going to flight train
to be an F one pilot.
Speaker 4 (12:06):
It actually cracked three. G Oh my god, Oh my gosh.
Speaker 6 (12:09):
Really, eyes are red.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
Yes, So now we have some very good news for you,
because everyone's enjoying maxic.
Speaker 4 (12:20):
When's the last time he had a Maxi bon Rob?
Speaker 7 (12:21):
Oh, I don't think I ever have.
Speaker 12 (12:24):
Oh my gosh, I know there's.
Speaker 6 (12:25):
Something really wrong with me. And I was curious, Whiteman,
what are you eating?
Speaker 12 (12:29):
I can tell you've been having something.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
I'm having a Maxi Bond. My brother's already knocked off.
He's already onto his second. He's on the way, he's
in the elevator, he's coming up in a second. He's
going to go wild for these things. And the good
news for the Whiteman family is that the good people
at Peter's have come to us and said they would
like to give you a year's supply of Maxibond.
Speaker 7 (12:50):
Oh my gosh, are you serious?
Speaker 2 (12:53):
Said serious?
Speaker 11 (12:54):
Oh my gosh, I have so many sleepovers with my
friends just to get through this line.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
Yes, Maxi Bond's for breakfast or yeah, it's Rob and
Kip Kisses ninety seven three.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
Wake Up with Robin and Kid.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
The good people at Mexico Maxibond heard about Rosie, my
niece's bravery in saving Maxibon the guinea pig, and have
just given them a year's supply of Maxi bonds, which
they're slowly working their way through already this morning.
Speaker 6 (13:28):
But the other special guest that has arrived is your
beautiful son Raffi, which means all of the Whiteman's siblings
are together.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
Yes, we're all here.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
Raffi is just in at showbiz moment, just throwing his
headphones off.
Speaker 4 (13:41):
He no longer on one of the wants to be
part of this break robin.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
And you know, isn't it weird when you've got a
kid that's got so much energy and then all of
a sudden they get shy.
Speaker 12 (13:51):
I know, it's really sweet because it is.
Speaker 4 (13:55):
I know, I don't get couples like this normally.
Speaker 6 (13:57):
It's yeah, and you know your whole family is there
because your sister Lisa is taking care of him while
you're at work.
Speaker 12 (14:05):
So has you got a favorite cousin, Raffie?
Speaker 4 (14:08):
Do you have a favorite cousin?
Speaker 5 (14:11):
No, it's not going to talk.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
Who yeah, okay, just sound effects.
Speaker 4 (14:18):
Jesse's his favorite.
Speaker 7 (14:21):
What is that is just doing?
Speaker 4 (14:23):
What did you just say? Can you say your name?
Speaker 10 (14:25):
Please?
Speaker 6 (14:27):
No?
Speaker 3 (14:27):
Okay, he's refusing to speak English subtractive just like your dad.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
Oh my goodness, Wake up with Robin and Kid.
Speaker 10 (14:44):
Our next guest is a British pop legend from Take.
Speaker 7 (14:47):
That, Whatever.
Speaker 10 (14:52):
Just wansome back Take That and returning to Australia with
special guests Ricky Lee.
Speaker 9 (15:00):
And Sophie Ellis Bexter.
Speaker 10 (15:06):
Take That's latest album, This Live, was the biggest selling
album from a UK artist last year. Tickets are on
sale February thirteen at Frontier Touring Today. Robin and Kit
Welcome Gary bar Yelly Doom.
Speaker 14 (15:20):
Hello, morning morning.
Speaker 3 (15:22):
Now make sure you check out our instagram because we'll
put some shots of this interview up on our Instagram
because Gary is in our Sydney studios and we've got
him on camera.
Speaker 4 (15:32):
You haven't aged today, my friend.
Speaker 14 (15:33):
Not Oh are you what type of bridge crown?
Speaker 4 (15:36):
It's so early.
Speaker 14 (15:40):
You know that we've got a good lens on this camera.
Speaker 6 (15:42):
Just so you know that's actually not true. If you
shaved off that little gray.
Speaker 5 (15:46):
Bit in your beard.
Speaker 6 (15:48):
Yeah, you take me right back to twenty, you know,
eleven and earlier.
Speaker 14 (15:53):
That's very kind, Thank you.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
So I always get a surprised by your voice because
there's no accent and you're singing and you don't.
Speaker 4 (16:01):
Hear it in but you speak. I just hear. All
I can hear is Thomas the Tank Engine.
Speaker 14 (16:07):
Yeah, do you know what?
Speaker 3 (16:08):
So?
Speaker 14 (16:08):
I was born up north in the UK, between Manchester
and Liverpool, and my mom was a scouter and when
she was sixteen she used to go to the cavern
in Liverpool and there was a little band on there
called the Beatles. So yeah, you can hear that. You
can hear those sort of John Lennon Ringo Star the
drawl in my voice, that's for sure.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
And if you don't know who I'm talking about, this
is Ringo as Thomas the Tank Engine.
Speaker 14 (16:33):
It's no fun getting stuck in the snow Thomas to Percy,
but it was worth it for this party.
Speaker 4 (16:42):
If Ringo over the little steps away, I mean, are
you thinking about it? Could you do it?
Speaker 14 (16:46):
I could do it?
Speaker 4 (16:47):
You should do it? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (16:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (16:50):
Listen. We've had three kids and I've watched all of
those Thomas the Tank Engines. I don't even hear the script.
Speaker 5 (16:55):
Yes, what are your kids now?
Speaker 9 (16:57):
Gary?
Speaker 14 (16:58):
Oh my god?
Speaker 7 (16:59):
You know what?
Speaker 4 (16:59):
Then?
Speaker 14 (17:00):
Not kids, sadly anymore. But our oldest twenty four now wow,
and Our middle child, Emily is actually here in Sydney
at university. She's been here for two years and she's
got another two years to go. So I'm doing some
work while I'm here, but also seeing her. And then
our youngest Daisy, she's fifteen.
Speaker 12 (17:20):
Why did she come to Sydney to go to UNI?
Speaker 14 (17:23):
Do you know? It's a good It's not a good
advert for us as parents? Is it that twelve thousand miles? Hey,
listen for us Brits? Though Ozzie's a big you know,
It's got a lot here that we love. Obviously the weather,
but the cities are all beautiful and I think a
lot of Brits are attracted to come here because of
(17:45):
the lifestyle. So that's what she came to get, and
she got it because she loves it here.
Speaker 4 (17:51):
It's weird. I guess when your kids were really small?
Speaker 3 (17:55):
Was that when you were like absolutely the busiest time
in your life?
Speaker 14 (18:00):
Do you know what? It's a good question because our
kids are gorgeous, and it's all because of my wife.
She brought our kids up. Because you're right, I missed
a lot of their life and it's funny. I'm kind
of making up for lost time. Now, I you know,
it is as busy now, but I definitely carve out
(18:21):
more time than I ever did in this sort of
the naughties. But yeah, it does play on my mind.
Done a lot. But they did travel around with us
a bit as well. I was one of those, you know,
one of those couples that, like, you know, rather than
leave home, take the kids with us. So they did
come a lot of places with us.
Speaker 5 (18:41):
Was it worth it?
Speaker 6 (18:42):
Because Take That was the biggest band in the world
for an extraordinary amount of time. I mean you kind
of you know, it's every career person's dilemma, your work
life balance.
Speaker 7 (18:54):
But for you, he had such success. Was it worth it?
Speaker 14 (18:58):
Do you know what?
Speaker 4 (18:59):
I think?
Speaker 14 (19:00):
There's a balance in life. Sometimes it's off and sometimes
you get it perfect. But you know, I I've played
piano since nine music all I ever wanted to do.
It's all I can do. I'm rubbish, I'm semi good
at music and it's been my career. And you know
what the truth is is that to do this you
(19:21):
have to work hard, you have to put the time in.
And it's funny when I meet other artists, the very
first thing everyone always talks about is the is the
life work balance. We all we all work too hard.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
I guess you are such a nice man and you
can tell I've spoken to you before and you always
come across as a lovely bloke, and.
Speaker 4 (19:40):
It makes me wonder why doesn't Robbie love you?
Speaker 10 (19:43):
You know?
Speaker 14 (19:47):
Do you know what You're so right? Tell him when
you're seeing Xi. When was the last time, No, I've
seen rob recently? So so we did a record together
in We've had a a strange history, but we did
a record together that was very, very great and healing
for us, just personally the two of us. But that
(20:09):
was in twenty eleven and ever since then we've really
kept in touch on almost a weekly basis. To be
in the same place is tricky for us. It's tricky
for us as a band to even be in the
same place. But I do speak to him a lot
and we are best of friends.
Speaker 12 (20:27):
So why was it so full on in the docco Then?
Speaker 14 (20:31):
Well, here here's the thing is that I am a
very in the nineties. I think I was quite unbearable
to be around. I'm very serious about music, and I
think I never really relaxed and enjoyed it, and I
think everyone else wanted to enjoy it, and I was
(20:51):
the sort of guy, you know, cracking the whip. No,
I need to get in rehearsals. And we had a
bit of a falling out in the nineties and it
took us a few years to cover from that.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
Look for taking responsibility for it as well, like you
could have gone like Robbie was on the piers, he
was doing this and there, but he was he was.
Speaker 4 (21:13):
When you're the serious one.
Speaker 6 (21:16):
So on the green is just the best way to
do a concert in Australia. Have you I mean, I'm
sure you've done music festivals, but have you ever.
Speaker 12 (21:24):
Done a day on the green here?
Speaker 5 (21:26):
No?
Speaker 14 (21:27):
No, No, it's going to be great. It's going to
be great. I encourage people to drink because if you drink,
we sound much better. But it's going to be good.
It's going to be gorgeous. It really is. And of
course if we start our tour actually at the end
of March, we do UK and Europe and South Africa
and the Middle East, and Australia is one of our
(21:48):
last stops. And of course the timing means you're going
from summer, from springing to summer, which is going to
be gorgeous for us, nice weather and we always love
playing in Australia, so we can't wait.
Speaker 6 (22:02):
Okay, well we have got a double pass to give
one of our listeners. But I think it only appropriate
Gary that you come up with a great yeah.
Speaker 7 (22:09):
Take that question.
Speaker 14 (22:11):
Yes, and if they.
Speaker 5 (22:12):
Can answer it, then they can come and see.
Speaker 4 (22:15):
Take that.
Speaker 6 (22:16):
And it's also Sophie Elli Spexter is going to murder
on the dance floor.
Speaker 5 (22:19):
She's going to be supporting you.
Speaker 3 (22:21):
Ricky Lee as well down on the Grand November twenty
twenty four. So tickets are on sale as of Tuesday,
thirteenth of February from ticket Master, but double pass now,
but we want to make sure you'll proper take that fan.
Speaker 4 (22:31):
So what's the question, Gary?
Speaker 14 (22:32):
I think the question should be when did we tour
last in Australia?
Speaker 4 (22:37):
Yeah, okay, yeah, very nice.
Speaker 14 (22:38):
All right, if you've got the answer, they don't know
the answer, you don't remember, we'll have.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
To go down number okay, excellent, thirteen one sixty five.
If you have the answer, Thank you so much, Gary,
and we can't wait to see it next year.
Speaker 8 (22:51):
Mate.
Speaker 14 (22:52):
Oh bless you nice to speak to you.
Speaker 3 (22:53):
Thank you, I should say this year it's November twenty
twenty four.
Speaker 4 (22:57):
Yes, it'd be fantastic.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
It's'd be remissive us not to play a little bit
of take that.
Speaker 4 (23:02):
Now, do you want to intro it?
Speaker 5 (23:04):
Gary?
Speaker 14 (23:05):
I think we should. Let's go back to nineteen ninety five. Everybody, Yeah,
we were all teenagers. This one's called back for good.
Speaker 2 (23:12):
Yeah, you're listening to the Robin and Kid podcast.
Speaker 4 (23:21):
Halfway through the podcast.
Speaker 3 (23:22):
So today, right at the start of the show, we
had our very first round of the competition five for five.
Speaker 6 (23:30):
Yeah, five things. You've got a name in ten seconds
to score tickets to go see five yep.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
So just behind the scenes chat. So that's us just
trying to work out how's this going to go because
we've never played it before. And then we go, hey,
I don't have a ten second buzzer, we don't have
this and that, and you had to.
Speaker 4 (23:45):
Do a little practice round of it.
Speaker 6 (23:46):
I was terrible, and that five girls names beginning with
me shocking.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
And before we did that, I realized that I hadn't
spoken to to Lisa and Rick my that's my sister,
Lisa and Rick her hubby about bringing Raffi in today
because we're having the Maxi bond party.
Speaker 5 (24:02):
For the Guinea Pig.
Speaker 4 (24:03):
For the guinea Pig, there's a lot going on.
Speaker 6 (24:04):
I know that does not surprise me that you had forgotten,
but you know, it's it's really nice to watch someone
with their family because you learn a lot about them.
And I've never met Lisa nor Luke before, but you know,
Lisa reminds me of your mum, Like she's just very kind,
very you know she was. She was attentive to RAFFI, like,
(24:25):
you're so lucky you've got family who just kind of
drop everything for you.
Speaker 5 (24:29):
Is that going to continue when you have to?
Speaker 4 (24:31):
I hope so that discussion we're going to need more.
Speaker 3 (24:34):
And NOI's parents are great as well, so yeah, so
hopefully they're going to have to. They'll probably have to
do more. I think with the newborn, I reckon because yeah, Pearls.
Pearls are classic.
Speaker 5 (24:46):
She would be so fun.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
You know what they did on the weekend they aiden
discover because they use WhatsApp rather than because Pearls on Android.
Speaker 5 (24:55):
And it's annoying when one family we even.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
Bought her an iPhone and she didn't and so but
so Aiden discovered that you could group chat by so
he video called us and then also looped in Pearl
in the video call, but she's in the same room.
Speaker 4 (25:13):
So there's all this feedback, it's all going.
Speaker 3 (25:16):
Out and you can hear them crossing over most like
can you just sit together?
Speaker 5 (25:19):
Yeah, just one phone on one together.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
That was and then what else that we had so
much today and then.
Speaker 6 (25:27):
You were broadcasting from our kitchen area, from the kitchen
party area for the Guinea Pig yep. And then we
also had Gary Barlow live and the problem with those
sorts of interviews with big, big celebrities and take that
was massive minutes time is you don't know how arrogant
and grumpy they're going to be, and b you don't
(25:47):
know how on time they're going to be. Yeah, and
so you know with timing with the live radio show,
it can be problematic.
Speaker 4 (25:53):
Yeah, so right for us, for our producers.
Speaker 3 (25:55):
Fine, yeah, but we just get this call gun they
running five minutes late, do something else, so we'd have
to you know, you know, bringing up stuff with Melbuttle
and doing that earlier and later and things like that.
So it was and then Rafi just having this is
his first time having him in here around and he
was really shy today, which was he was, But then
he was also not understanding that I couldn't give him
attention right there.
Speaker 6 (26:15):
And then he wanted attention from his dad. That's all
that he wanted.
Speaker 3 (26:19):
He's like, did you ever have that when your kids
were young? Trying to have a phone call with rafi around?
Speaker 4 (26:24):
It's impossible.
Speaker 7 (26:25):
Well, I used to do.
Speaker 6 (26:26):
There was a period of time where I was out
of working radio and I used to do these kind
of live ninety second ad crosses back into like the
talk stations. Oh yeah, like magnetic mattresses and you know,
the things you do. And Lou, my middle son, which
will surprise no one that knows him, would absolutely one
(26:47):
hundred percent if I was taking a phone call to
do a live radio cross, yes, he would kick up
the biggest stink. So I ended up having to put
them all in the car and then get out of
the car, like not move a way from the car,
and you know, like stop him from being able to
unlock the windows because he literally would find it hilarious.
Speaker 4 (27:08):
So there's a closed car, yeah, well, which sounds terrible.
Speaker 6 (27:14):
It was ninety seconds and I was parked in a
shaded area and I could see them like I wasn't
going anywhere.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
I know what people do.
Speaker 6 (27:22):
Yeah yeah, it was the only way I could contain
them in silence. Oh man, because he would find me.
It was like a heat seeking missile. He'd find me
in the house. And that was also problematic because it
was probably more dangerous than having them strapped in a
car because.
Speaker 5 (27:34):
I never knew what he was up to.
Speaker 4 (27:35):
Oh yeah, in the knife.
Speaker 7 (27:37):
Yeah, and you know, like.
Speaker 6 (27:38):
This is an awesome opportunity to take out my younger brother.
Speaker 4 (27:42):
Yeah right, okay, just bash. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (27:46):
And the last thing we have was I know you
bloke for a soak And that was massive today as well,
because we had people live in here. We had we
had models walking around, We had we had directors and
producers that couldn't concentrate because there was models walking around.
Speaker 4 (28:00):
Has lost her mind, that's a lot.
Speaker 7 (28:02):
You lost your mind?
Speaker 6 (28:04):
Someone so beautiful, Okay, well that's okay.
Speaker 4 (28:09):
Good morning as well to Nathan.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
You've never seen someone so beautiful.
Speaker 4 (28:15):
That's disgusting.
Speaker 5 (28:16):
Has And how hot is Navido?
Speaker 14 (28:20):
Hot?
Speaker 5 (28:21):
I know, hot Nathan.
Speaker 7 (28:22):
We call him hot Nathan because he's so hot.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
Not enough.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
This was something out of him.
Speaker 3 (28:30):
It was a picturetque.
Speaker 7 (28:32):
Yes, there is a hole and you are digging yourself
into it. I would stop talking.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
The Robin and Podcast.
Speaker 16 (28:45):
One Question One, Moment of Truth and Gibbs Lie Detector.
Speaker 6 (28:56):
So we've got Mel back in the studio, of course,
and with Nick from Light Detection Australia.
Speaker 12 (29:02):
You've just sat the Light detect to Mel.
Speaker 5 (29:04):
How'd you go?
Speaker 13 (29:05):
I think I mastered it and I'll probably be working
for Light Detection Australia by.
Speaker 9 (29:08):
The end of the day. Robin.
Speaker 7 (29:10):
Okay, Nick, is that true?
Speaker 15 (29:12):
Mel was really great at wanting to boss the mechanical
voice around there. I don't think she took to him,
but Mel was great at picking up the concepts of lying.
So part of the test is you have to lie
as you know.
Speaker 12 (29:26):
Yeah, yeah, and I could not get it.
Speaker 5 (29:27):
It messed with my little brain.
Speaker 9 (29:29):
Oh I'm an experienced lier, Robins.
Speaker 7 (29:31):
I'm proud of it, proudly.
Speaker 13 (29:32):
So just white lives, just small things like oh, just
saw your text then, just that sort of stuff.
Speaker 5 (29:37):
Okay, how did you go with the maths? Nick?
Speaker 15 (29:39):
It was funny you should ask because with the math questions,
clearly wasn't your strong suit at school.
Speaker 9 (29:44):
Thank you?
Speaker 15 (29:45):
And simple math questions are designed to give a baseline response,
and did you get quite a lot of them wrong
and quite simple ones, you and me.
Speaker 7 (29:55):
Both, sister. Yeah, I'm quite proud of that.
Speaker 5 (29:58):
How do you feel about your maths?
Speaker 13 (30:00):
I used to sit on the balcony with Sister Gillian
and the worksheet would say year three and I'd be
in year nine.
Speaker 5 (30:07):
Means that was reflected in the light detection.
Speaker 15 (30:09):
Yeah, it really was. Sister Gillian. If she's listening, God
love her. Yeah, she'd be disappointed.
Speaker 9 (30:16):
Yep, I've let her down. But I love that. Robin
is also about at Mass because I think Robert and
I are a bit similar. We're creative.
Speaker 6 (30:22):
We're creatives. But I'm really crap at lying.
Speaker 5 (30:25):
You, however, are not.
Speaker 9 (30:26):
That's good. I'm going to file that away, Robin.
Speaker 6 (30:29):
Yes, if you need me to cover for you, I'm
your girl. Let's go through some of these answers. So
the first question, Nick, was the first.
Speaker 15 (30:39):
Question was I have slept with more men than women?
Speaker 6 (30:43):
Because we should say that you are now in a
same sex relationship and you have a child. I am
very interested in this answer. What would you say without
the lie detector?
Speaker 13 (30:54):
I think it would surprise people I would be a
bit of a shock.
Speaker 9 (30:58):
I have slept with more men than women.
Speaker 15 (31:00):
So the response to I've slept with more men than
women was true? You were telling the truth?
Speaker 9 (31:05):
Yes, have you? Yes? I thought that might blow your
socks off, Robin.
Speaker 7 (31:10):
Okay?
Speaker 9 (31:11):
Why why?
Speaker 3 (31:13):
Oh?
Speaker 9 (31:13):
We all make mistakes.
Speaker 7 (31:15):
I don't know.
Speaker 13 (31:16):
I didn't work out that I was gay to quite
late in life, and I thought, maybe if I just
keep trying the same with semi dried tomatoes.
Speaker 9 (31:23):
I didn't like those the first ten times either.
Speaker 5 (31:26):
Do you like them?
Speaker 1 (31:26):
Now?
Speaker 9 (31:26):
They're all right?
Speaker 7 (31:27):
Okay? So how many?
Speaker 5 (31:30):
There's so many questions?
Speaker 9 (31:31):
I know, look at you?
Speaker 5 (31:32):
Am I allowed to ask?
Speaker 9 (31:33):
You can ask whatever you like? Robin?
Speaker 5 (31:35):
Ok So, I know, but you're a guest on it.
Speaker 6 (31:39):
How many women were you with before you ended up
with your partner?
Speaker 9 (31:43):
It's not the number is quite small. It would be
maybe three.
Speaker 5 (31:47):
And what about how many men?
Speaker 9 (31:49):
This is a daily mail article. You're ready for it?
Speaker 5 (31:53):
I am?
Speaker 9 (31:53):
It would be about fourteen?
Speaker 7 (31:55):
Oh my gosha, never going back?
Speaker 9 (31:58):
Probably not say maybe I'm.
Speaker 13 (32:00):
Saying it if I have four white wines, you never
know what could happen. I forget I'm gay sometimes, Robin,
and people maybe you're bisexual, mel and I go, no,
I'm a silly duffer.
Speaker 9 (32:09):
I forgot.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
Wake up with Robin and Kip.
Speaker 16 (32:18):
One question, one moment of truth. It's Robin and kIPS
lie detector.
Speaker 6 (32:29):
The big question that you wanted an answer for for
your own life is I want more kids?
Speaker 5 (32:36):
Where are you sitting on that?
Speaker 13 (32:38):
I think when I was under pressure in the test,
I've just added up four plus three.
Speaker 9 (32:42):
I think it's seven.
Speaker 13 (32:43):
That test question comes up, and I just went with
my gut and I just let my hand do the answering,
and I think I said, yes, I do. But then
Nick has a series of tricks, so yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 15 (32:56):
He actually said false, did I do?
Speaker 1 (32:58):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (32:59):
God, you don't want more kids?
Speaker 3 (33:01):
Oh?
Speaker 9 (33:01):
Did I really?
Speaker 13 (33:02):
So it's true that I don't want more kids?
Speaker 4 (33:04):
God?
Speaker 15 (33:05):
This is but this, this is the thing. It was
after a series of math questions where you were starting
to get flummoxed.
Speaker 9 (33:11):
Yes I was.
Speaker 15 (33:11):
And my sense was your response was just you pressed
a button.
Speaker 13 (33:15):
Yes, I was just in the mode of going click, click, next, next, next,
And I think I might have made a mistake on
that one, or maybe I really just want to be
a one child family In my.
Speaker 15 (33:26):
Professional opinion, that was your one and no, I mean
you've got a few math questions wrong. Yes, but that
was yours.
Speaker 9 (33:31):
As you've said, Nick, thank you.
Speaker 15 (33:33):
If that was a mistake, that was just a really
rush where your hand was on and you just clicked foles.
Speaker 6 (33:38):
In your lie detection experience and the human experience, you
would say that she probably does.
Speaker 15 (33:42):
Oh would say she really rushed the answer. And you
also said, you know, you made a sort of verbal
response that you mucked up that answer.
Speaker 9 (33:50):
Okay, yeah, I think I did.
Speaker 15 (33:52):
You did.
Speaker 9 (33:52):
Okay, so I do want another kid?
Speaker 12 (33:54):
Then will that have implications in your life?
Speaker 5 (33:57):
Now?
Speaker 13 (33:57):
Yes, I'm going to have to go home and have
the chat about well, if you really don't want one,
we won't do it.
Speaker 5 (34:03):
You know that's not what she's going to say.
Speaker 6 (34:05):
No, if you're the one ditthering, I'm guessing she really
wants to know she.
Speaker 13 (34:08):
Really wants another child. She comes from a family of four.
I'm an only child, Robin, Oh, that explains a lot
so to me adding a sibling. It's crazy to me,
what there's another carbon copy of the first kid in
your house?
Speaker 9 (34:20):
What do you share things?
Speaker 13 (34:21):
It's all new. I grew up as an only child.
It's like, you know when you fly business class, that's
what being an only child is, Like, Oh really, yeah,
of course it's all for you.
Speaker 4 (34:30):
See.
Speaker 6 (34:30):
I always justify my behavior of having three by saying.
Speaker 7 (34:34):
The greatest gift you can give your child is a sibling.
Speaker 9 (34:37):
Is it?
Speaker 13 (34:38):
The greatest gift my parents gave me was probably a microscope.
Speaker 7 (34:43):
So a brother or sister you wouldn't have liked.
Speaker 6 (34:45):
No, not really, you you love being an only child.
Speaker 13 (34:48):
Yeah, because I don't know any different. That's all I know.
That's the whole world that I know. I don't And
then if someone else turned up and said, oh, you
have to give this kid your toy moa, I'd be like,
I don't think, so that's mine because I actually can
see the benefit of being a single child, like and
I can see it from a parent's perspective too, like
the kid just comes along in your life.
Speaker 9 (35:06):
And I did.
Speaker 13 (35:06):
I knew about superannuation by the time I was seven. Wow,
I'd say to my mum's freend, you're going to roll
yours over, Gail.
Speaker 9 (35:11):
What are you thinking you're putting extra away? Please tell
me you're putting an extra fifty bucks a week away.
Speaker 6 (35:19):
Yeah, So this answer has big weight in your life.
Speaker 9 (35:23):
It does.
Speaker 13 (35:23):
It does because and I think Nick's assessment is correct.
I made a mistake, but I probably made a mistake
because I was overthinking it, which is a real pattern
of mine. Or I don't truly know the answer.
Speaker 12 (35:34):
But if you have another child, you'll be okay.
Speaker 9 (35:38):
I'll survive, Robin.
Speaker 13 (35:39):
I mean, the world won't end, but I guess we
won't be going on a holiday to Hawaii anytime soon.
Speaker 2 (35:46):
You're listening to the Robin and Kid podcast, So.
Speaker 10 (35:51):
Come to love this Valentine's dating.
Speaker 14 (35:52):
It's so bath House by.
Speaker 10 (35:54):
Now like gift card's online, so Bathouse do? It's Robin
and kis no your bloke flourisos Yes.
Speaker 4 (36:05):
With Valentine's Day fast approaching.
Speaker 7 (36:07):
Rob Yeah's next Wednesday, isn't it not? This week?
Speaker 5 (36:09):
The following we have one.
Speaker 6 (36:11):
Thousand dollars gift cards to Soak Bathhouse to give away.
Speaker 7 (36:15):
But you've got to know who your fella is.
Speaker 4 (36:17):
Yes, and there's no consolation price there.
Speaker 3 (36:19):
There's a great big prize and the thousand dollars to
spend at Soak. But if you get this wrong, Anna,
I'm talking to you specifically, if you get this.
Speaker 4 (36:25):
Wrong, you get nothing but a feel. You get nothing
but a free feel, which.
Speaker 3 (36:29):
Because we've got two models, I'm not going to say
beside or that they're around your Your partner is somewhere
in the mix.
Speaker 4 (36:36):
Ariel is somewhere in the mix.
Speaker 3 (36:37):
And so you're wearing weird hogwart style black robes at
the moment, very odd.
Speaker 6 (36:44):
So you have chosen the chest to have a feel.
How confident are you? Anna?
Speaker 4 (36:49):
I was pretty confident, but I don't know now. I'm
not sure.
Speaker 6 (36:52):
This poor woman has been led through the studios and
a blindfold, so like completely disorientated.
Speaker 5 (36:58):
You have no idea.
Speaker 6 (36:59):
You've got it like a on a headset on so
that you can actually talk into the microphone.
Speaker 5 (37:03):
So let us spin you around.
Speaker 4 (37:05):
Yeah, how long have you you guys been together for it?
Speaker 5 (37:09):
Three years?
Speaker 3 (37:09):
Three years, so you should know your bloke. And everyone's fit.
I'll say that everyone's fit. So we're moving over now
before we get to feel. You'll get about five seconds
per feel. No one speaks. We don't want any sounds
coming out to give it away.
Speaker 7 (37:21):
Okay, are you fellers drop your robes?
Speaker 3 (37:25):
Oh my goodness, there's more underfants than I was expecting
in the studio today.
Speaker 6 (37:29):
All right, okay, every single staff member that is in
this building is now collecting outside.
Speaker 2 (37:36):
No business here, You've got nothing you need to be
doing here today.
Speaker 5 (37:40):
Haven't you got news?
Speaker 3 (37:42):
And she's just hanging out, just lingering. She's nowhere near
the news booth for the first time.
Speaker 4 (37:46):
Okay, are we ready?
Speaker 7 (37:47):
Yep?
Speaker 4 (37:47):
