Speaker 1 (00:12):
I heard podcasts, hear more kiss podcasts, playlists and listen
live on the freeheart app.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Robinie Kiff now with Koreos the podcast. It's Robin Kiff
now Chreots on demand the podcast.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
I'm not quite sure how this happened, but I love
Audible and I listened to books all the time, and
I've started to listen to Oshaginsburg's book now. He I
know he is an X radio guy who I did
work with a gazillion years ago when.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
He drove the Black Thunder.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
But he's also went on to be on Channel V.
He hosted lots of things in America. We know him
as the host.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
Of the Bachelor.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
He remember, he's done a lot and he's now doing
podcasts and he's interviewed a guy called Ann Rubinstein who
was the Father of the Year. He's got this organization
called Rights of Passage Institute. This guy is really interesting.
Have a listen now, In fact, we'll do it at halftime.
I want you to really hear it and then tell
(01:24):
me what you think.
Speaker 4 (01:27):
Now we are well and truly into the finals. The
Broncos had this miraculous win on Sunday and they now
have a week off and their next game is a
Sunday afternoon at Suncourt, which is unusual.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Isn't that a fit? That's a family time.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
It's weird for finals because normally.
Speaker 5 (01:49):
Yeah, it's Friday Saturday normally. Yeah, which is fair because
it's only a day difference separated.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
They've separated away from the AFL Grand Final, which is okay,
but without a respect.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
I would also say that there are finals happening in
kids sports everywhere on Saturdays.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Yes, so, thank you very much.
Speaker 4 (02:07):
Yeah, I think it's more about the AFL Grand Final.
So four o'clock Sunday afternoon if you want to try
and grab tickets to the Broncos final. Now, there's a
couple of things before we talk about Reesey Walsh.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
That Paddy Carrigan our captain.
Speaker 4 (02:22):
We were talking about him yesterday maybe not playing in
that game, and that's.
Speaker 5 (02:25):
Well, I think they'll take it.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
It's early guilty.
Speaker 5 (02:29):
Please one week they fight it, it will go to
two weeks and which you won't win. It's nothing to
win so.
Speaker 6 (02:37):
Early pa.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
So yeah, but don't we have a week off that work?
Speaker 6 (02:40):
Unfortunately?
Speaker 7 (02:41):
No, unfortunately isn't.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
And the other one's commiserations to Billy Walters, who's had
such an awesome year, has stepped out well and truly
stepped out of his dad's shadows, and he's heard his
al He's done.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
No point was this supposed to be.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
I just wanted to stop. We love Billy. I want
to touch on it for a minute.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
Okay, But now getting onto the head butt, because this
was the moment where Reese Walsh got we gave it,
gave Hudson Young ahead, but Hudson Young had been sort
of pushed him in the back, was celebrating a.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Moment for a canbra he has by side, so Young.
Speaker 8 (03:16):
Here we go.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
Let's listen.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
And you can't be huts and Gun for that'll take
him away.
Speaker 9 (03:22):
That's going to be twelve on twelve.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
How do you how do you send huts and Young
for that?
Speaker 2 (03:29):
Please tell me you can? You can stop the pace.
That's the commentary on the ABC.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
Oh, I can definitely.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
I immediately forget football. I immediately go to the schoolyard. And
this happens every single day. So the question is who's
at fault, who's worse off the instigator or the retaliator,
because if if in that situation, but it happens at
school all the time. My one of my sons, I
won't identify him, used to be in the office all
(03:59):
the time and it was always one kid and he
would get upset and he would bait this kid would
bait him and bait him and bait him, and then
he'd finally retaliate, and he was the one that got
into trouble. Now, I will never advocate for violence, no ever,
But I have to ask the question, is the instigator
(04:19):
worse than the retaliator?
Speaker 4 (04:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Six five. If you want to get involved, I'd never
go worse.
Speaker 5 (04:25):
I'm going to say it's fifty to fifty because the instigators,
they know what's going to come, they know what's going
to happen. Bait, bait, bait, and the and the retaliator
sometimes they got nothing to bait, you know, bait back
with they've got nothing to say back.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
So what else can you do.
Speaker 5 (04:41):
You're not going to let that person just keep going.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
And the retaliator wouldn't happen if the.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
Instigator hadn't started it.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
So therefore it's worse.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
The instigator is worse than the retaliator.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Because they created the incident.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
Well, I agree, because you know, even my little little fellow,
and I don't think. I mean, he's only six, it's
hard to know, but I'm sure he's not violent. But
he has had an incident at school where he was
at the office. He hit someone with his hat and
I said, like, why, why would you do that? And
he said, well, that kid screamed in my face all day,
(05:13):
he said, And eventually I cracked and I sort of went.
It was really hard as a parent because I was like, well,
I was proud of him for sticking up for himself
and not accepting that. But you're not allowed to hit
anyone either, So it's hard.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
What are you supposed to do? Because if that kid
doesn't scream in his face, there's no incident.
Speaker 5 (05:29):
And my thing is too, like you're trying to walk
away ignore it. How many times do I have to
walk away and ignore things? Yes, before they're allowed to
do something back?
Speaker 4 (05:37):
Even Jesus only did twice, you know, doing the other cheek.
You only got two cheeks. Then you've got to react.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
Okay, I'm going.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
To say that this is a very unusual time in
our show. We've actually agreed. So if someone if someone
truly disagrees, please tell us how thirteen one oh six
five because I genuinely and we will be super respectful
and we will reward you. Yes, so thirteen one o
six five. Yes, I did get the phone number off.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
Thank you, well done.
Speaker 10 (06:10):
Know it.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
In my dyslexic brain, I went that was wrong.
Speaker 9 (06:13):
That's all right?
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Yeap oat flat white? Yes, he is six five?
Speaker 4 (06:18):
Is the instigator in fact worse than the person who reacts?
Speaker 2 (06:22):
Right now with the podcast.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
We're still talking about the rees Walsh headbut because we
want to talk about whether it's the instigator that's actually
worse than the person who reacts, the head buttsids for
the young.
Speaker 10 (06:37):
Here we go.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
Let's listen on. You can't be huts and young for that?
Take them away from.
Speaker 9 (06:44):
That's going to be twelve or twelve.
Speaker 11 (06:46):
How do you how do you send Hudson young for that?
Speaker 2 (06:50):
Please tell me you can. You can say stuff to piece,
but he gets too. I was on ABC.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
They both got ten minutes in the bin and then
re Swalsh copped three thousand dollars.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
Fine, yeah, but this happens every single day in every school.
So is the instigator worse than the retaliator? Allison of Tanamara,
We're all going to have instigators as long as we
have retaliators.
Speaker 8 (07:14):
And it is a lot different to pushing someone away
and saying get out of my face than actually launching
with the head buck when the game has now.
Speaker 12 (07:22):
Gone into there is to be absolutely no.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
Contact to a player's head.
Speaker 5 (07:25):
So why does this untouchable golden.
Speaker 12 (07:27):
Boy get ten minutes? If that was Victor Raudley or
hard Graves, they would have been sent off.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
Well, are we talking.
Speaker 5 (07:33):
About normal, normal day stuff here?
Speaker 2 (07:35):
We talk about football.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
If you just briefly, if you want to talk, if
you want to talk about football, canber have had two
players at headbutter this year who were sinbind and find
exactly the same as Rees Walsh.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
So that's actually not true Elison.
Speaker 8 (07:49):
And so was the instigator sent off as well?
Speaker 2 (07:52):
I'll have to check. I don't know as a token gesture.
Speaker 5 (07:55):
Well, usually if an instigator starts something, that's the new
rule this year has been the instigator would insticate something
for retaliation. Happened, they both get sent for ten That's
what happened.
Speaker 4 (08:04):
But bringing it back to life, like if it happened
to your kid, if your kid was getting harassed, get
it all the time. That's what are you guys, that's
what happens in schools. That's why bullying will never be
stamped out.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
Okay, but we have no one's fixing up.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
Yeah, but you can't just accept it, Isn't that the
whole point of this, Like we actually have to start
to look at why kids are getting bullied, why there's retaliation,
Like just because it is doesn't mean it should.
Speaker 12 (08:32):
No, it's absolutely not. But you go in with a
headbut yeah, you really go in with a Headbut yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
The headbut's dirty, there's no doubt about it.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
Yeah, Sherry of Chris Mead, what do you reckon? Is
the instigator worse than the retaliator?
Speaker 10 (08:46):
Believe that there was all last year My boy was
getting harassed by the same boy for a whole year,
Punches to the head, kicks, just everything. He just had
it out for my boy. And then my boy finally
snapped and punched him back and they both got suspended.
So I, you know, I believe there are ways that
(09:06):
you can cope. You don't have to go hands on surs.
Speaker 8 (09:08):
But how much is there?
Speaker 10 (09:11):
You know, how much do you accept before you finally
just don't accept it anymore?
Speaker 5 (09:16):
Yeah, that's exactly right.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
And that's that's the point.
Speaker 5 (09:19):
Like, Yeah, it comes a time where the person that's
instigating this and want to always push and push and push.
They're push and pushing because they're they're waiting for something
to come back.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
They want it to they want to happen.
Speaker 5 (09:30):
But then when it happens, they win.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Now, Producer Ali is coming to the studio. I know
you're passionate about this.
Speaker 13 (09:35):
Its one hundred percent disagree with all of you. You
never ever hit. That's what we teach kids. You never retaliate,
You ignore, or you go and tell the teacher. If
you're talking about school yard and somebody's bullying you. You
don't teach your kids then to react by hitting. It's ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Absolutely, the teacher can't be there all the time.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Yeah, but that's not the point. You're going to tell
your kids to just go hitting people.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
But if you're if it keeps happening over and over
and you're not getting protected by the teacher, then eventually
you've got to do something.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
No, you don't, don't.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
You have to stand up for work to not by hitting.
How about using words yourself?
Speaker 1 (10:07):
Okay, but there are different ways that kids react, Like
some are really good with words in some art. And
I understand the walk away, I really do, But then
what like if no one's actually changing it? And I
agree with you, mate punching, I'm I'm the mother of
three boys. I can't stand the physical violence of it.
But I also know at what point do you just go?
I can't handle this. And if that kid, the kid
(10:29):
who's copying it, breaks down, then that escalates it even more.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
I just don't think ever the excuse is.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Violence, don't you reckon?
Speaker 4 (10:37):
Words are worse in a lot of ways, Like I
don't remember anyone. I've definitely gotten fights in school, but
I don't remember anyone ever hurting me. But what I
do remember words that were said to me from twenty
thirty years ago.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
I remember words that's for you. Perhaps they hurt me forever.
Speaker 13 (10:50):
Perhaps that's for you, but not for everybody. And I
just don't think we should be teaching children, or anybody
for that matter, to retaliate with violence.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
It is absolutely unacceptionially, I don't be teaching them. I
agree with them.
Speaker 5 (10:59):
We should think it happened both We should be teaching
it kids both ways, not physical violence or verbal like
it's got to start being there's put more eyers on
that then.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
Yeah, they're both.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
The way to do it is that if a kid
is coming at you and coming at you, then you
just go in for a hug.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
You need to change it.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
You've got to try some job.
Speaker 4 (11:21):
Yeah, and then you're come here give you.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
Do that on the field. That'd be great.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
Definitely changed.
Speaker 7 (11:32):
From everybody right.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
Now and let him know we've got a solution. More hugs,
Rod Now.
Speaker 14 (11:43):
The podcast.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
That's run Brisbane's biggest ever birthday Party two hundred and
fifty invites to Area fifty one.
Speaker 13 (11:51):
Brisbane's biggest birthday party is coming put together by a
man who just found out.
Speaker 8 (11:56):
What fairy bread is.
Speaker 5 (11:58):
Wait what it's just bread and sprinkles.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
That's genius And buddy a clown, haven't you got homework
or something else?
Speaker 4 (12:05):
You can do Brisbane's biggest birthday by So we had
another round of Man versus Child this morning to give
away a bunch of tickets.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
We have more on the show tomorrow, maybe even here.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
Controversial, It was fairly controversial.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
We may or may not have had some assistance behind
the scenes that then got exposed.
Speaker 4 (12:25):
We uncovered that the children were being fed the answers
from our producers.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
You got to check that out in the podcast. The
moment we all went wait a minute, what's happening here?
Speaker 3 (12:38):
Quickly our nine year old Brycett Yeah, turned and lies.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
He had to lie just ready in the chamber because.
Speaker 5 (12:49):
If you know the answers were, then say it the question.
Speaker 4 (12:53):
So now what we need to We're actually going to
pivot here from talking about Brisbane's biggest ever birthday party
to inviting you into the circle of trust because we
need to talk about times that you've stuffed up birthday party.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
It's a sacle try and it moves.
Speaker 5 (13:18):
Can remake one and go in.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
You're welcome to so the circle of trust.
Speaker 4 (13:27):
There's no judgment here, but you have a chance to
get on the phone thirteen one oh sixty five and
tell us about the time that you screwed up your
kid's birthday.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
Yeah, come on, be honest.
Speaker 6 (13:35):
What are you? Yes? Sure?
Speaker 3 (13:38):
Do you want to start with me?
Speaker 2 (13:39):
Kim? I think I know.
Speaker 4 (13:42):
Mine happened on air recently for Sienna's first birthday party,
which we'd organized, but it turned out it was on
the same day as something else. So this is me
calling Naomi, my partner on air to discuss. Now, you've
got her first birthday coming up, and I just was
going to give Rob and Corey the invite to the party,
which is the fifteenth of June, isn't it?
Speaker 13 (14:04):
It is?
Speaker 3 (14:05):
Yeah? Do you know what else is happening on the
fifteenth of June? Naomi?
Speaker 10 (14:10):
I did start to listen to you said.
Speaker 4 (14:16):
I, yeah, Corey's little league, massive day that we've been
organizing for months, and you knew for months.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
I just didn't check. I didn't calendar reference.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
Should I make you feel better? This is a one,
but it is another one.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
Leigh Matthew's daughter, when he was coaching the Lines and
they were going.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
For their three repeat. I think it was the third one.
It's so disbelieved in her father. She organized her wedding
on Grand Finals. Needless to say, he didn't go.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
No, he had a Grand Final to take care of
and surely brutal, brutal. Where did you start it up
for your kid's birthday or wedding? Perhaps thirteen one O
six five.
Speaker 15 (15:01):
A.
Speaker 2 (15:02):
Now with Corey the podcast, it's a sacle tru and
it moves so welcome to the circle of trust. There's
no judgment here, just tell us what happened? We've all
made mistakes and it started in this circle.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
Yes, back of blimber Hi, what happened?
Speaker 9 (15:29):
Oh?
Speaker 8 (15:29):
My one job for my partner to send out the invite,
did the job and put the wrong phone number down
for the RSVP.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
So tell me about how old was the child and
how long ago was this?
Speaker 8 (15:41):
So this is twelve months ago. It was Joshi's fourth
birthday party and three days out from the party, We've
got no RSVPs other than pretty much close family friends,
a kid next door. And I'm getting worried. At this point,
We've sent out about twelve.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
Invite So what happened?
Speaker 8 (15:58):
Do a check? I ended up having to put an
invite out via the whole of kindy class, ended up
with about thirty kids, No one rsv paid, and we addition,
should we say, an additional bill for the additional kids,
the one around for the add on to the cake,
because we'd only cared for about you know, fifteen people,
(16:19):
not then in the total with friends of family forty
five to fifty.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
What did he do wrong? VP?
Speaker 8 (16:26):
Put the digit wrong instead of double one, put one seventh.
Oh yeah, the phone number threepe.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
So you put it up in the daycare and got
thirty kids, not twelve.
Speaker 8 (16:41):
I have to do the ring round for them, the
additional cake because everyone cake, the shore bags, you name it.
Speaker 4 (16:48):
Well, we have a family pastor Astrolumina for you back
for your pain experience Astrolumina and Enchanted night Walker Crumb
and Wildlife Century Astralumina dot com dot au.
Speaker 5 (17:00):
Natalie Gazon, when did you mess up your kid's birthday?
Speaker 12 (17:04):
Well, it was for my son's fourth birthday party and
it was on the same day as Grand Final Day
and we're massive Brison lines and so we basically invited
all of our friends over to watch the game and
then just said to him that it was his birthday
time we had a cake still and he thought he
had the best birthday party. Well the whole time.
Speaker 7 (17:30):
This is when am I going to get celebrated?
Speaker 4 (17:40):
Adults yelling at the screen, going out in the gifts.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
Natalie, how many kids have you got?
Speaker 12 (17:48):
We've got two boys and they're your biggest fans. We
listen to you every morning and yeah, they love you.
Speaker 11 (17:54):
Well.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
Would you like to invite them to our biggest birthday party?
Speaker 3 (17:58):
Would you guys like to come?
Speaker 12 (17:59):
They would love that more than anything.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
We're hoping we can put it off because Corey is
in charge.
Speaker 3 (18:05):
Yes, but it will be fun anyway.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
They may not be party bays, Ye tell.
Speaker 4 (18:10):
Them it's yes if they were from Tim Now it's
it's on September the twenty fourth. That doesn't line up
for any birthdays for you, so you can double double
dip on this, does it?
Speaker 12 (18:20):
It's close to his fifth birthday.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
Former Bronco yet still be there.
Speaker 2 (18:32):
These are your friends Area fifty one.
Speaker 4 (18:35):
Well, the ultimate out of this World play Center Adventure
for all ages.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
It's Robin and Now with Correo.
Speaker 4 (18:41):
It's on Kiss ninety seven to three.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
Here now with Correos the podcast. Halfway through the podcast.
So yeah, Sosh's got a got a podcast.
Speaker 4 (18:53):
And you may remember him from back when he was
Andrew Andrew G Andrew g for many years.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
And when he was driving a Black Thunder.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
He was Spidey Spidey was he Spider Man?
Speaker 5 (19:04):
I should come from?
Speaker 4 (19:04):
Now? I don't don't quote me on this, but as
far as I remember, he went and saw a shaman,
some type of guru, and they said to him, know,
your name's Ulsha is what happened?
Speaker 3 (19:16):
I haven't got to that. I'm reading his book.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
He's actually he's been quite He's a very interesting guy
and quite a troubled soul.
Speaker 3 (19:22):
You can call yourself whatever your life like.
Speaker 5 (19:24):
Can we find names for ourselves.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
Sure, let's have that conversation another time. That's a good one.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
Anyway.
Speaker 1 (19:30):
He's interviewed Ann Rubinstein, who is the Father of the
Year here in Australia, and talks about He's part of
the Rights of Passage Institute.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
Have a listen to this.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
We all know a man child.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
I've met a bunch of them working on a show
at the bachelor or bachelorette when there would be lots
of men, I'd meet guys who are twenty seven, lived
at home, had never introduced the woman to their parents.
Speaker 16 (19:51):
I wrote a model on the different between a boy
and a man, and we talk about a boy. They
think they're the center of the universe. They want power,
they want everything for themselves. They don't take responsibility for
their actions or their emotions, and they want a mother
to be their servant and do everything for them. And
that's fine for a six year old, but if you
end up with an adult man who still thinks he's
a sen of the universe, and you know, loses his
(20:12):
temper when he doesn't get what he wants and just
wants power and thinks that women are there for him.
If that man then becomes the head of a major
company or becomes elected to run a country and can
start wars, it's a major problem. And unfortunately, I actually
think that we live in a world that is run
by boys, and we need to live in a whether
that's run by good men and powerful women.
Speaker 2 (20:34):
Yeah, discuss, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (20:37):
Who's he aiming that at?
Speaker 7 (20:40):
I wonder take.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
Any of the dictators true to take.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
North Korea Kim John and I would hazard to say,
take Trump.
Speaker 4 (20:49):
Yeah, and as the Chinese leader, I think is basically
a dictator.
Speaker 5 (20:53):
Yeah, yeah, I agree, because you know, I think the
life lessons learnt through your mistakes when you're on your own,
to be honest, and I had a lot of them
because I left home. You know, I went to boarding
school that's a bit different. But then I came here
two days after I finished school. So I was seventeen,
(21:15):
a Brisbane from Rockyampton. Well your poo, and yeah, like
I honestly adapted a lot quick to the boys then,
like to the boys that didn't like go far their
parents were not far away. They could always go and
see them, They could always go see expend three days,
four days because they miss him and all that sort
of stuff. And I was like, well, I don't want
(21:37):
to go home. I love it here and I learned
how many lessons you know, I still am, But yeah,
I couldn't agree more. I think it's because of you're
making your own decisions and you can't just go back
to mom and dad to make you feel better.
Speaker 15 (21:54):
You know.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
I don't know that's where he's gone with that, but
that's why I like that a lot.
Speaker 4 (21:59):
It's an interesting one, isn't it, Because you want that
closeness with your kids and your family, but then there's.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
Got to be enough separation that you can forall.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
I will controversially say this, and people don't like it
when I do, but I actually feel like mothers of
sons have a massive responsibility to let go of their children,
massive because if you keep holding on and don't let
them fail, And it's such an easy thing to do
because you know, in certainly in my situation, they'll take
and take and take until they'll just keep taking, because
(22:27):
why wouldn't they They got to being out of themselves.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
But what would Why would you pay for your own
dinner when you can invite it?
Speaker 3 (22:34):
Right?
Speaker 1 (22:35):
And you might be nineteen or thirty, you know, But
if you don't, and I do feel like it's moms
and dads obviously, but particularly mothers. If you don't cut
that apron string and say you are on your own, buddy,
I love you more than anything, but if you don't
become a functioning adult, then I have failed.
Speaker 11 (22:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
So I don't know what Donald Trump's mother did, but
let me google.
Speaker 2 (22:59):
Fascinating.
Speaker 3 (23:00):
Yeah, she's still living there, Putin or any of them.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
Yeah, Putin's mum.
Speaker 11 (23:06):
What was that?
Speaker 2 (23:08):
I've got a feeling she might have been bear to
a human child?
Speaker 4 (23:16):
Could you imagine just came out in a cave?
Speaker 11 (23:25):
Sure?
Speaker 2 (23:27):
Something I know.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
Now with correos.
Speaker 4 (23:38):
And so if you're letting around this time yesterday, you
would have heard after the show we had Mikayla and
Sandy getting whisked away for a day of luxury. They
were Stephanie's luxury Spa Emporium Hotel overnight because Sandy, who
had injured a hip, broken a.
Speaker 1 (23:59):
Hit, broken a hip, and couldn't love her garden and
just couldn't do anything in it.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
Yeah, so we wanted to make it better.
Speaker 4 (24:07):
We did and together with the team from Brooks Bluemiams
Brooks Bloom's garden design, build and maintenance services to take
your garden from the big idea to real life sanctuary,
we were able to transform Sandy's garden. So here is
the moment where Sandy and Michaela came into their backyard
to see just what we've done.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
Okay, so Sandy is coming up to us and we're
on the side path of her backyard.
Speaker 3 (24:31):
First of all, before we revealed.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
Your amazing backyard, tell me about the last twenty four hours.
Speaker 3 (24:36):
How's your night been. McKayla and I loved it.
Speaker 9 (24:39):
We went and had a massage and we went into
the steam room where Mickayla and I couldn't see each.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
Other at all.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
Because you're at Stephanie's luxury spa and you had a massage,
Is that right?
Speaker 6 (24:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (24:51):
That was really nice, relaxing.
Speaker 9 (24:53):
Then after that we went back to the Emporium hotel
and it.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
Was beautiful land a leave. We're like royalty and the
rooftop was really nice. Yeah, it's a beautiful spot.
Speaker 4 (25:06):
And how did it feel knowing that there was stuff
going on back here at your house.
Speaker 9 (25:10):
Yeah, I can't wait to see it. What are you
hoping for? Just for it to be cleaned up so
I can like manage it.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
So anything specific that you want to done.
Speaker 9 (25:20):
That water fountain thing that I bought, I wanted it
to be put together because I wanted to see it
like working. And I had bought some wooden sleeper things
and I hadn't been able to get that in the garden,
so just like it looked how I wanted to look
in my head because when I first came home with
afterhead the operation, I came out one day and I
(25:41):
was like, yeah, I'm going to mowe this yard. And
I was out there on one leg, on my right
leg with my other leg bent up like because I wasn't.
Speaker 3 (25:48):
Allowed to squat. I'm like, I'm getting this done.
Speaker 9 (25:52):
And then I think one of the kids come home,
They're like, what are you doing?
Speaker 2 (25:55):
Mom?
Speaker 3 (25:57):
You could have fallen over. Are we ready?
Speaker 15 (26:00):
You're ready?
Speaker 1 (26:02):
Cover your eyes, We'll turn you around, we go and
Kip and Corey will talk through exactly what they've done.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
Are you ready? One?
Speaker 2 (26:11):
Two?
Speaker 1 (26:12):
Three?
Speaker 9 (26:14):
Oh wow, Oh you've done so much.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
Can we start here? The garden bedding.
Speaker 4 (26:19):
This leaders they're finally done and we've molted it all up.
All the guys from Bloomsos.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
All this stuff.
Speaker 5 (26:29):
Yeah, they've done a cracking job with the edging. And
then obviously you can see your masterpiece.
Speaker 6 (26:34):
The water.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
It's running, it's flowing properly. So good.
Speaker 4 (26:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
Yeah, so they've done all that.
Speaker 5 (26:40):
They've cleaned up all your statues and all your heads.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
They just cleaned it up.
Speaker 3 (26:43):
Explain how many heads we have on the corner of
the wall.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
We do have emulshed And what's this like a sleeper
so there's like a garden bed.
Speaker 3 (26:55):
How many statues have you got, mate?
Speaker 9 (26:57):
I want it to look tropical, like you know, when
to come out in the backyard, I don't have to
leave to go to a resort line.
Speaker 3 (27:04):
Looks like that's what it does.
Speaker 5 (27:06):
They furtilize all your plants, they've cleaned up your your
pool area.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
I've cleaned your pool.
Speaker 5 (27:12):
Everything in here is ready to go for spring. And
they said, when a little bit of rain comes and
spring really comes through, everything's going to just go berserk
and it's going to look beautiful. It's going to rain forest.
Speaker 4 (27:25):
Yeah, and you might also notice a bit of flat
AstroTurf because you had that there already. But there was
a big lump where the old hills hoist used to be,
and Corey does that. Corey spent hours digging that thing out.
We called it the Corey hole.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
It was there.
Speaker 5 (27:39):
I honestly that you actually probably could have used that
as a footing for your house.
Speaker 12 (27:44):
It was so strong.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
It was so strong, so deep.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
It's the clothesline.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
I'm like, what is going on.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
Let's take you up to.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
The water feature because this is the piece to resistants.
Speaker 15 (27:54):
This.
Speaker 1 (27:55):
Tell me about this water feature because it didn't look.
Speaker 3 (27:57):
Like this yesterday. No, it was in pieceless.
Speaker 9 (28:00):
This piece here is the second piece because the first
one one of the kids broke it getting out the
so I had to order another one.
Speaker 5 (28:10):
Well, can I say it waste a time?
Speaker 2 (28:12):
It's heavy.
Speaker 5 (28:12):
It is the heaviest thing I've ever coard in my life.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
Let's keep walking over to the pool because the photos
that we saw of the pool it didn't look like that. No,
so tell me what you see because this is all
thanks to pool works who came in and did a
great job.
Speaker 3 (28:26):
It looks so much better. Yeah, well you have to
go anywhere.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
No, it's all Okay. Now, this this is where we
get serious, because this none of this would have happened
if it wasn't for your amazing daughter, Michayla. Now that
you've seen this transformation, what would you like to say
to her?
Speaker 9 (28:46):
Thank you Mikayla very much. I love you so much.
And she always looks after me, always there for me.
When I'm upset about something. She'll come in and she'll
be like, what's wrong and I'm like, nothing.
Speaker 3 (28:58):
Who's upset you?
Speaker 9 (28:59):
Yeah? And then she'll be like, I know there is
Just let it out now, because I'm not going until
you do.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
Oh my goodness, you've got a Robin in your life.
Speaker 3 (29:10):
We're the best, is what.
Speaker 1 (29:13):
You wanted because we actually were. It was very important
to us that you delivered on your dream. Yeah, it's
beautiful because yesterday you were so in tears and things
weren't great for you, and the smile on your face
now is just the best.
Speaker 9 (29:27):
I'd like to thank everybody, Kiss and Brooks Blooms and
pool Works and anybody else that was involved. I'd just
like to thank all of yours, like I love everything
that's done. This means so much to me.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
Yeah, that was great.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
It's beautiful.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
You deserve it.
Speaker 9 (29:44):
Thank you guys so much.
Speaker 4 (29:45):
We're gonna have all the video up on our socials
as well and you can check out. And I saw
on michaela socials they had some great shots of the
Emporium as well where they had a great night. Emporium
Hotel South Bank is the most luxurious five star boutique
hotel in Brisbane.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
And what do we take out of the last twenty
four hours?
Speaker 2 (30:03):
Dale dug a hole, Cory duggle now with Coyo.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
It's it's sixty listener discretion advice.
Speaker 9 (30:16):
Not suitable for work or in the car with Vickim.
Speaker 4 (30:22):
Yes, we need to talk about this in the naughety
six forty timeslot because there's this new rule coming in
in December for social media band for under sixteens. Lana
is it yeah, straight first of December. When's it happening?
Speaker 14 (30:37):
No, sorry, I think it's the tenth of December. Is
the social media band for under sixteens? Which you know
you can hear that and think, well, you know, I'm
an adult, I'm not under sixteen, but it means everyone
will have to get checked, so you do have to
prove that you're an adult. In some capacity.
Speaker 2 (30:53):
So YouTube US is in the mix as well.
Speaker 14 (30:55):
YouTube is in the mix as well. But something that's
kind of unrelated but it's just happening at the same time.
Is these aren't the only age verification checks that are
happening and in their works because now we have all
of this age verification tech. You know, there is the
new question of well, all those websites where you have
to tick am I over the age of eighteen?
Speaker 2 (31:18):
Adult website content.
Speaker 14 (31:20):
Content websites, you will also have to check in.
Speaker 4 (31:25):
Some you're hypothetically speaking for people that are interested in
that stuff. Woues that mean that you would have to
show your license or proof.
Speaker 2 (31:35):
Before looking at pornography?
Speaker 14 (31:36):
Is it always suggesting you can't rule that out because
they have all these different age verification tech like methods,
and you know, some of them are photo ID, but
there's a whole bunch of them. You actually identify yourself
with the website is to pick the websites, to pick
how it will verify ages.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
So Alan, and now what I want you and I
to do is step back from the microphone, grab some popcorn,
and let these to.
Speaker 7 (31:59):
Discuss how that's going to be back then, does that
mean it would send you a verification of authentication of
your age an email.
Speaker 4 (32:11):
Yeah, so you might get sent mail of the site
you're using, hypothetically, hypathetically, if.
Speaker 14 (32:16):
You've got mail, look, hypothetically speaking, I'm sure that there
is going to be some you know, a lot of
privacy safeguards in place, but yeah, you may have to
admit see the website that.
Speaker 8 (32:30):
You were there.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
Hypothetically, some of my friends are going to be very effective. Yeah,
some hypothetical friends.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
But what I'm loving about this also, if there's then
a verification email sent, it's not just the site that's
going to know who you are.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
It's potentially going to blow up your entire.
Speaker 5 (32:48):
World anyone who has because ipthetically feel my mates and
eypathetically messaged me and said, hypothetically.
Speaker 2 (32:59):
Are we stuffed? Are we stuffed? That's the question? Thirteen
one oh six five. Hypothetically if you were, if you
were into that type of thing, do you think this
would be the end.
Speaker 11 (33:08):
Of the time?
Speaker 3 (33:10):
Asking are you asking? Is the porn industry open?
Speaker 4 (33:13):
Perhaps you don't have to say it's over for you
because obviously you probably don't watch it.
Speaker 2 (33:18):
But if hypothetically speaking, I.
Speaker 14 (33:19):
Don't speaking, if you're watching it, just lean in like,
why are you.
Speaker 3 (33:24):
Why are you worrying about it? Why is that such
a big deal.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
I think if it came out of the closet and
people were not being hypothetical about it, you would.
Speaker 3 (33:33):
Probably not be in this position. What is the problem?
Speaker 2 (33:38):
It's not going to affect me.
Speaker 3 (33:42):
Tell me, genuinely, what is the problem with it?
Speaker 2 (33:45):
I don't know.
Speaker 11 (33:46):
I would that.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
Thirteen one six five though, if it could be a
problem for you.
Speaker 4 (33:53):
But now the podcast, right now, we are having an
adult conversation about these new laws coming into a place
in December where everyone is going to have to aid
verify because there are banning under sixteens from social media.
Speaker 1 (34:13):
And not only does that potentially identify you to the
particular server that is asking for the verification, but they
may then send corresponding emails out to your email address,
which may be accessed by who knows in your life.
Speaker 2 (34:27):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (34:28):
So hypothetically we're asking, once you have to bring out
your license to age verify and then get the emails,
does that mean that porn might be over for you?
Speaker 2 (34:38):
Hypothetically?
Speaker 3 (34:39):
Craigie of Virginia.
Speaker 10 (34:41):
Good morning, Good morning, Craigy.
Speaker 15 (34:42):
So my hypothetical concern is if you're let's say you're
a parent of young teens who are in this euch bracket. Yes, hypothetically,
when your partner asked the question of who watched this, yes,
(35:04):
you're kind of lost with options.
Speaker 12 (35:06):
You can't blame it on that young teams.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
No, you couldn't any more if that's what you were doing.
Speaker 15 (35:11):
If you were that person, you'd be at a hole here,
wouldn't it.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
Really would be alright, really would And your children will
never forgive you no looks.
Speaker 5 (35:22):
This is just cause an issue, an issue, it's.
Speaker 4 (35:24):
Quite it's quite a concern. Allow for you for having
your hypothetical opinion, Greggie, We've got a two hundred bucks
to spend at the Korea Leagues Club. That's all your eyes, yea,
where every visit makes a difference. So I just I
love the idea of you explaining to.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
You what how you want to?
Speaker 15 (35:46):
Just keep putting me in it.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
Now with Gas the podcast, Robert's tell you.
Speaker 1 (36:01):
The seventy seventh and your Primetime Emmy Awards have come
and gone. Yes, these are television's night of nights in Hollywood.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
Let's start with the fashion.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
I think Sydney Sweeney would be the person that you
would be most excited about. She wore an Oscar Dela
Reenta gown. Let me show you quickly. Let's just say
that she was very aware of her assets.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
I bet you have.
Speaker 3 (36:28):
I love how you just try and cover your tracks.
Speaker 1 (36:31):
Selena Gomez also the hot in red, but the fashion
choice of the night for me. She plays Wednesday. I'm
talking about Jenna or Taga. She was in a Javanne
she it was a multi colored chunky gems and the
gems covered her naked body. Oh wow, she looked extraordinary.
Speaker 2 (36:52):
Cover it though there.
Speaker 1 (36:57):
Covered And we'll give a special shout out to our
own Cape Blanchette. She didn't win last night, but she
wore an edgy black velvet jumpsuit that looked really cool.
She's been nailing the fashion. She was at Kahn and
she was absolutely best on show.
Speaker 3 (37:11):
She's amazing.
Speaker 4 (37:13):
I mean, at some stage through the night, when she
went to the bathroom, she will have had a fully
nude up in the cubicle.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
Well, I'd hope so, because otherwise she'd be like a
baby with some little slip.
Speaker 2 (37:23):
I don't understand the jumpsuits in the playsuits.
Speaker 3 (37:26):
I don't understand it.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
Yeah, and that does happen occasionally anyway, Mate, Barkatsi, we
were just talking about him, Hollywood's wholesome comedian. He did
a great job as the host. I really thought he
tried super hard. But he did set a precedent in
the opener by setting a limit on speech times, by
putting a fine for going over when you give your.
Speaker 2 (37:50):
Thank you speeches.
Speaker 11 (37:51):
They just said you got to keep them on time.
So they wanted me to come up with a way
to do that. So what I came up with is
everybody gets forty five seconds. If you want to do
more than that, do it on social media later more
people are going to see it there anyway. So I
am going to donate one hundred thousand dollars to the
Boys and Girls Club of America. If you stay forty
(38:11):
five seconds, it stays at one hundred thousand dollars. Every
second you go over forty five seconds, we will adduct
one thousand dollars away from the Boys and Girls.
Speaker 4 (38:20):
Scott, you're taking it from there.
Speaker 1 (38:26):
Was history made with the lead Actor of Adolescence. He's
the youngest male actor ever to win an Emmy at
just fifteen Owen Cooper received the Best Supporting Actor in
a Limited Series for his portrayal of the thirteen year
old English schoolboy accused of murdering a female classmate. And
this was his very classy speech tonight, pruise.
Speaker 6 (38:47):
If you listen and you focus, and you step out
your comfort zone, you can achieve. You can achieve anything
in life. I was nothing about three years ago. I'm here.
And also, I think if you're listening, your focus and
you just step out your comfort zone a little bit,
who cares if you get embarrassed? You know, anything can
be impossible.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
He was brilliant. He was unreal in adolescents.
Speaker 3 (39:06):
If you haven't seen it, you need to really see it.
Speaker 1 (39:09):
But I will say this, this this happened in the
last couple of weeks.
Speaker 6 (39:12):
Hey.
Speaker 1 (39:12):
Owen has been very very clear that the one actor
he absolutely adores is this guy just too j.
Speaker 2 (39:19):
Jill Off All Nights.
Speaker 6 (39:20):
Is he who you're like looking forward to me? He's
no normal one. J jillen All is my favorite actor
of all time. So yeah, I can't wait for me.
I'd love to work at Jake Jill are you Mostly
I think everyone knows that Jake Jill and all's my
top number one.
Speaker 3 (39:35):
So of course the moment happened.
Speaker 15 (39:38):
If you were Jake, what would you say.
Speaker 8 (39:40):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (39:41):
I'll just stare at him.
Speaker 3 (39:45):
So nice to meet you.
Speaker 6 (39:46):
I have a present for you.
Speaker 10 (39:48):
I made this movie and I got nominated for an
Academy work and a friend of mine sent me something.
Speaker 6 (39:53):
Just like this.
Speaker 8 (39:54):
It's just a lucky duck pockets a little little thing.
Speaker 6 (40:01):
Oh wow, thank you, yeah man, thank you.
Speaker 1 (40:05):
It was this tiny little ceramic duck and it worked
and he had to keep it in his pocket.
Speaker 15 (40:13):
I'm not winning.
Speaker 2 (40:14):
No, he was up against like huge estat he was.
Speaker 1 (40:19):
And if you haven't seen it and you happen, this
happens to inspire you, just remember that they did it
in one shot.
Speaker 3 (40:26):
So there's forty five.
Speaker 1 (40:27):
Minutes of television on Netflix and they did not stop
the camera once. The fact that that a thirteen year
old kid, yeah could staying character is extraordinary.
Speaker 2 (40:37):
It's unbelievable.
Speaker 4 (40:38):
I actually have friends of mine though, said the other
day they didn't like it. They said they got a
bit bored.
Speaker 3 (40:43):
Oh okay, I cannot.
Speaker 2 (40:46):
I know. It's changed the way I see them.
Speaker 3 (40:50):
I'm like, are you judging harsh?
Speaker 15 (40:52):
Wrong?
Speaker 5 (40:52):
With you, we had Yeah.
Speaker 2 (40:55):
Do you remember those guys can't do that? Yeah Now
podcast
