which stopped Camp in his tracks.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
I got Carolyn.
Speaker 7 (01:43):
I've been drepilly. Good morning.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Hi.
Speaker 7 (01:46):
How are you?
Speaker 3 (01:47):
Hi, Carolyn?
Speaker 4 (01:48):
So confessions for cash?
Speaker 3 (01:50):
What's your what's your confession?
Speaker 8 (01:53):
Okay?
Speaker 9 (01:53):
So, I basically I thought this was really innocent and
it was like a universal experience. But my brother and
I used to fight a lot when we were younger.
I'm talking like when I was seven, eight or nine
years old, quite young, and every time he would fight
(02:14):
and he would really really piss me off. I would
dunk his toothbrush in the toilet bowl and sometimes just brush.
Speaker 10 (02:30):
Just to get back at it.
Speaker 11 (02:32):
That is that's wrang o.
Speaker 7 (02:35):
Why did you think that was a common experience.
Speaker 12 (02:38):
I don't know.
Speaker 9 (02:38):
I mean, where would I have gotten that idea from.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
I think I've seen it once in a movie. But
like that's that's not doesn't make it normal.
Speaker 11 (02:47):
I think Horrible Bosses was out back then.
Speaker 9 (02:51):
I was just I think that I was just such
a I think I was just, you know, one the
youngest daughter of two brothers, and they used to always
gang up on me, and I just had it the
worse with him, and mean, yeah, sometimes just to make
matters worse, Like sometimes I remember him having like stomach
(03:12):
aches a lot. You know a few days ago, I
was thinking, Oh, that's probably what caused.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
It, is particles.
Speaker 4 (03:23):
Did you grow up in Brisbane?
Speaker 9 (03:25):
No, so I grew up a little bit all over
the world. So yeah, our childhood was like overseas, so
unfortunately not Queen Australian water.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
Even if it was a fresh flush, it's not necessarily
good fit for human consumption.
Speaker 11 (03:46):
Oh my god, where you got that from?
Speaker 7 (03:50):
At what point did you realize that this was not
a great thing to have done?
Speaker 9 (03:57):
Honestly, I I think I only stopped because he went
away for boarding school, and I I just it's just
like a flash of memory that through my head the
other day. And I must have felt like it was
evil because I just remember when he would brush his teeth,
because we would share one bathroom, when he would brush
(04:19):
his teeth at night, I would go into my room
with my toothbrush and just like do a little like
ha ha like silent giggles. Oh my god, I must
have thought I knew it was evil.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
Well, I'm wondering now, I'm wondering whether whether or not
we call and tell him. But the thing is, do
you want to know? Do you want to know?
Speaker 4 (04:37):
I think I might be disturbed, knowing like he might.
It might be better that he never finds out. I
can't know.
Speaker 11 (04:43):
I'd rather not know if that was me.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
What do you think, because you actually.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
What it was?
Speaker 4 (04:50):
If you don't know what happened?
Speaker 7 (04:51):
What about how long ago? Carolyn?
Speaker 13 (04:54):
Oh it was?
Speaker 9 (04:55):
It was I'm twenty seven now, so it was twenty
years ago.
Speaker 8 (04:59):
I was seven?
Speaker 6 (05:00):
Yeah, okay, okay, and he's two years older than me.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (05:05):
You said you had two brothers. Did you only do
it to one of them?
Speaker 9 (05:09):
Just one?
Speaker 7 (05:10):
The other one?
Speaker 9 (05:10):
I'm pretty sure he. I don't know why, but I'm
pretty sure his bathroom was separate to ours. Like he
had an entree or something.
Speaker 11 (05:17):
Oh yeah, or he could smell though, something wrong with
his tooth.
Speaker 9 (05:22):
It's like a vague memory. So that's why I know
that it was.
Speaker 8 (05:25):
When I was like, you.
Speaker 7 (05:26):
Young, we have to ring him? Can we ring him? U?
Speaker 3 (05:31):
Will he forgive you?
Speaker 2 (05:32):
What?
Speaker 3 (05:32):
Do you think?
Speaker 9 (05:32):
I'll just I don't know.
Speaker 8 (05:35):
I'm sure he will be okay with it.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
Okay, let's let's tell him that.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
Yeah, let's do hang on there, Caroline.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
We're gonna come We're gonna come back in a second,
and we're going to call your brother and tell him
what you did with his toothbrush twenty years ago.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
Now with the podcast.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
Now Confessions for Cash, Caroline has given us her confession,
but it's time to tell her brother. John give me.
Speaker 5 (06:03):
With Robin Kid and Cory's this is Confessions for Cash.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
Good John, It's Robin Kip with Coreo. It's or Kiss
ninety seven three.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
Here you go mate.
Speaker 9 (06:18):
Good you guys.
Speaker 7 (06:21):
Where in the world are you?
Speaker 4 (06:22):
John?
Speaker 11 (06:24):
Are you yeah?
Speaker 3 (06:26):
Excellent?
Speaker 7 (06:27):
Well you would know that we do things that involve siblings.
Speaker 11 (06:33):
Yeah, yeah, my sister or something, wasn't it.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Caroline told you we're going to do
a siblings quiz. It's not actually that, John. Instead, this
is something we call Confessions for Cash, and Caroline had
a confession for us for something a long time ago,
and it involves you directly. So we thought we'd get
her to tell you on air exactly what she did.
Speaker 13 (06:59):
Take it away, caw Hey, how are you yo?
Speaker 11 (07:02):
Yo?
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (07:04):
What did you do? So just remember that, you know,
we're really really good now, and we're good. We're really
good siblings and we're good friends.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
You know.
Speaker 10 (07:16):
But you remember.
Speaker 9 (07:19):
When they were like seven or eight or also that age,
like We used to fight a lot, right, mm hmmm,
like a lot, like you know, like we were like
you were always hitting me and we were just you know,
so don't be mad.
Speaker 14 (07:37):
You can't be mad.
Speaker 9 (07:38):
But when I used to get like really really mad
at you, I used to take it too. Because we
shared a toilet. I used to take your tooth fresh
and dunk it in the toilet bowl.
Speaker 10 (07:52):
And it happened only a few times. But you used
to really fight a lot.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
And and.
Speaker 12 (08:06):
It's a joke, right, it has to be a frank
for the radio.
Speaker 7 (08:10):
Well, she's scored five hundred dollars for telling us this.
Speaker 10 (08:17):
Yeah, I'll tell you for a nice general or you know,
we could get you an appointment with the dentist. We're
knocked out, you need help then, you know? Did you
just have to remember this was like twenty years ago.
Speaker 9 (08:34):
We used to really find I'm sure that you did
something just as bad.
Speaker 8 (08:38):
I know, we hated each other back in the past.
Speaker 9 (08:40):
We survived a lot, but that's not normal.
Speaker 13 (08:46):
I really thought that it was, you know, like I
must have seen it somewhere in the movie or something like.
I don't know, but look, I'm just saying now I'm
sorry and you can be pissed at me. But this
is why I'm telling you now, because like we don't
(09:06):
live together anymore.
Speaker 7 (09:11):
John, do you want to know how many times she
did it?
Speaker 4 (09:14):
It's not just one?
Speaker 2 (09:17):
Get off?
Speaker 6 (09:19):
Oh no, the big brother voices.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
How honestly, but look, you know the band aid's coming off.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
You might as well just tell the truth.
Speaker 11 (09:27):
Now.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
How many times do you think you did it?
Speaker 2 (09:29):
Uh?
Speaker 9 (09:30):
I honestly, I honestly don't know, Like I think I
probably did it more than one?
Speaker 4 (09:39):
Was it every time you had a big flo every time.
Speaker 9 (09:41):
You had a big argument, like it had to be
really like explosive big argument like single.
Speaker 10 (09:51):
I think probably two hands, probably maybe like.
Speaker 9 (09:55):
Seven whoax or seven times?
Speaker 10 (10:01):
I'm sorry?
Speaker 15 (10:02):
Wasn't it with the floaties?
Speaker 16 (10:04):
Then?
Speaker 9 (10:04):
They always I always, I always used to just do
it like fresh toilet.
Speaker 10 (10:14):
Obviously that's.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
John.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
She's not an animal, so John.
Speaker 6 (10:21):
She also told us.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
She also told us that she does remember that at
times after doing it, you'd get an upset.
Speaker 7 (10:28):
Tommy mom always kept telling me to wash my hands
regally because I always get these stomach aches.
Speaker 6 (10:35):
But he kept you.
Speaker 15 (10:41):
There was something wrong with my Tom.
Speaker 11 (10:44):
Didn't even realize that when you went away to boarding school.
All those tummy ya tummy just top went away.
Speaker 9 (10:49):
Oh my god, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
Speaker 17 (10:56):
Well, Caroline, you get five hundred dollars for that confession
because that was outstanding. So I think you can take
Johnny up for a nice meal or just a dentist
clean or something.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
Something is the.
Speaker 18 (11:10):
Normal thing, like a stabling space.
Speaker 15 (11:12):
But I've never done something.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
No, that's not normal.
Speaker 12 (11:17):
With you.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
Need Now.
Speaker 4 (11:29):
We're live from Vegas.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
If you haven't seen the videos of us or seeing
the Backstreet Boys at the sphere, it's all over our socials,
incredible show and and you know we all came to Vegas,
especially for you, Corey. You became a Backstreet boy to
get us here. And I thought that was done. I
really thought it's on my part. Well, I mean you did,
you did get it. But then unfortunately it turns out
(11:52):
that we ran out of money. We got this phone
call from our bosses, boss dB.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
Looking at this.
Speaker 8 (11:58):
Back end credit card expenditure, you thinks you have had.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
A good couple of days.
Speaker 14 (12:03):
Just the budget is spent, the credit card is maxed.
Speaker 11 (12:06):
Okay, so I won't work anymore.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Done?
Speaker 3 (12:11):
Do you know?
Speaker 7 (12:12):
Though?
Speaker 1 (12:12):
One great thing about America, and it is the American dream?
Is it the concept that you can try and make
money any way you want to.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
It's true, that's true.
Speaker 6 (12:20):
So we did, Yes, we did.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
We decided that we I mean, look, you learned the
dance moves. We learnt the dance moves to go with
you for that film clip. We thought we've got the
white outfits. Maybe we should go and busk. Actually, oli
our bosses here would have said you have to go,
and so we decided to just try and work up
a bit of courage. So this is us in in
our hotel room before we busk.
Speaker 4 (12:44):
We're preparing to head out to them all and busk.
We're trying to make some money. Now we've had about
twenty dollars.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
US worth of beer just to try and get a
courage to go.
Speaker 4 (12:53):
So unless we make at least twenty dollars busking, word
and lost. If things get bad, thank you. If that
doesn't work, Robin's backscratches.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
We should say that was the backup plan if we
made nobody busking. Robin was going to use her nails
for good for once, to have a purpose, And you
were going to offer five dollar backscratches.
Speaker 17 (13:13):
And we shall let ever know that we spent upon
an extra hour building up that courage that once we
got there, the great performance happened.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Noweaty, how it down?
Speaker 4 (13:32):
You give me right?
Speaker 11 (13:34):
We don't care.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
We had we were fully set up. We had a
bucket in front of us. You can't even hear the
boombox because there's so much noise. But when I have
a little yewei boom playing Backstreet Boys, and.
Speaker 6 (13:52):
You know what, we did attract a crowd.
Speaker 7 (13:58):
We did get some money. And Alie a boss, then.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
Walked around to the people that were like looking at
us kind of weirdly and asked them what they thought, Hi.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
What are you think of that?
Speaker 12 (14:09):
Before?
Speaker 7 (14:11):
What the amazing amazing football?
Speaker 18 (14:15):
What did you think of the dancing?
Speaker 11 (14:16):
Pretty good?
Speaker 7 (14:17):
I think it's arsenal.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
Did they look like the Backstreet Boys?
Speaker 7 (14:22):
Did you like the dancing?
Speaker 16 (14:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (14:23):
I liked it.
Speaker 12 (14:23):
I like it.
Speaker 11 (14:29):
Well, we thought we're on to a winner.
Speaker 4 (14:30):
We did what do we make thirty five? But pretty good?
Speaker 18 (14:34):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (14:34):
Like three minutes?
Speaker 11 (14:35):
Yeah, and well this happened not long after that.
Speaker 7 (14:39):
Actually, so.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
We can't do it.
Speaker 11 (14:47):
Okay, we can't do it. Well, that's unfortunate, but I'm happy.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
Yeah, that was those were security guards were very unhappy.
Speaker 4 (14:56):
Apparently I didn't know it was private problem. It looked
like a mall. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:59):
Well it was an offset street from the street, and
we were too many beers in and pretty happy with
our thirty five dollars to actually do a repaper.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
I was not gone.
Speaker 4 (15:11):
So we made thirty five bucks and then we were
escorted from the difference.
Speaker 7 (15:16):
There is a video.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
It will be up yes.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
Today and you can see the true embarrassment that was
us performing in front of a whole bunch of randoms.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
Yes, that's going to be up on our Insta and Facebook.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
Rowing again now with Courios the podcast.
Speaker 3 (15:34):
We are live in Vegas. We came here to see
the Backstreet Boys at the sphere. The video of us
busking in the streets dressed as Backstreet Boys to try
and make some money because we maxed out the company
credit card. It didn't take long, it really didn't.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
I mean, we might have made a couple of dodgy decisions, sure,
but you know, so last night and yesterday we spent
just trying to raise money, so busking and yes, you'll
see that video shortly, but you guys took it upon
yourselves to suggest that my acrylic nails could be put
to good use.
Speaker 3 (16:05):
Yes, we thought, surely there's something that nails are good for.
And we had I've seen people at the tables getting massages,
like a little five minute massages for ten bucks. We thought,
what about some backscratching?
Speaker 4 (16:18):
Fine, do going to be fine?
Speaker 3 (16:21):
Fine?
Speaker 7 (16:22):
Touching random humans with my fifty DoLS?
Speaker 4 (16:24):
Okay, are they your oils?
Speaker 3 (16:27):
Oh well, it's fine.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
It's someone else's nails scratching someone else's back.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
You may you may detect that we had a few
cans of confidence in us by now at this stage.
And so the first place we went to and Corey
and I are calling out, trying to get you business.
As we walk through the pokey section of the casino.
Speaker 4 (16:48):
Buck scratch, buck scratcher we go on, everyone was scratch grach.
Speaker 12 (16:53):
I'm so sorry.
Speaker 7 (16:53):
I'm from Australia. I'm trying to organize money and raise
money and this is my only skill.
Speaker 4 (17:01):
So that was your first client. That worked pretty well.
Speaker 3 (17:03):
We thought, you know what, you know, he's got even
more money in cash at hand in the people at
the table. So we went past the blackjack tables.
Speaker 4 (17:10):
First cuts back scratchers. Scatchers, that's somebody a rob there.
You go, mate, enjoy that. You gotta go date Roberts
and money.
Speaker 11 (17:21):
Would you some work to do it?
Speaker 1 (17:24):
It was so embarrassing, like embarrassing you too, just like
my bodyguard. I'm standing there just trying desperately to apologize.
And you know what, even after all of that twelve bucks, babe,
that's pretty good.
Speaker 4 (17:42):
That's twelve America twelve America dollars is nearly twenty bucks. Yeah,
I know, and yes, what about.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
The no, actually, there's no other pluses now, it was
all down other than the nearly twenty escrillion dollars.
Speaker 6 (17:57):
Okay, you're creepy, weird.
Speaker 4 (17:59):
Okay, so the back scratching.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
Didn't work out great, But you know what, what's that
forty seven bucks? All?
Speaker 4 (18:04):
Yes, between the buskting and the back scratching, we've got I.
Speaker 1 (18:08):
Do love how collectively you guys think that is my
only skill?
Speaker 4 (18:23):
Figured one quickly, Corey before the ad start one other one.
Speaker 11 (18:27):
I've got nothing.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
Here now with Corey the podcast, we're broadcasting live from
Vegas at the moment because we came here to see
the Backstreet Boys, to realize Corey's childhood dream of seeing
the Backstreet Boys live, and it was incredible seeing them
at the sphere. But we've been here for a few
days now, and Rob, you had a question, So just.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
A simple question. Who's missing you at home? Let's start
with the guy that where there's possibly no ware.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
No, actually, I've facetimed a couple of times. I spoke
to Naomi and Sienna last night at about I think
it was about one forty five am our time, the
Vegas time. Yeah, yeah, just after she'd had her and
she's been sick unfortunately, so she's just started on anti
biolex and was feeling a bit better. But Naomi said
(19:17):
like she'd been walking around the house all day going
dadda dad trying to find me around the house, which
is so sweet, and.
Speaker 11 (19:25):
The money your care is walking and.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
She did think it was peace for a minute.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
There.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
Yeah, yeah, but yeah, she was so sweet. She kissed
the phone. She kissed the phone on FaceTime last night.
And then I also spoke to Raff who's at his
mum's place, and yeah, and he's doing good, but he
got straight into complaining and you could tell these were
not his words. He's like Why are you there for
ten days?
Speaker 2 (19:52):
Dad?
Speaker 4 (19:52):
The show was only for one night. Why are you
there for ten days? It doesn't make sense.
Speaker 3 (19:59):
That's definitely.
Speaker 4 (20:01):
Yeah, So I have been missed. Thank you for your concerns, Robin.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
Okay, So for me, and this was not anticipated at
all because I have, you know, and go a little bit.
But I only just stay like one or two nights
with my boyfriend Olivia up the coast. But my little
dog Molly, apparently because my car is still out the
front of my house, she keeps going to the car
and trying to look inside to see.
Speaker 3 (20:24):
Oh that's sweet.
Speaker 6 (20:26):
Isn't that sweet? But you, Corey and I know some
of the answer to this. You've had tears at your place.
Speaker 7 (20:34):
And they're yours.
Speaker 11 (20:37):
Oh I yup me. Oh jeez.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
No.
Speaker 11 (20:44):
I've been trying to ring as much as I can.
It's hard obviously now that we're doing the show, because
the mornings before school we're doing this. So yeah, and
then I rang.
Speaker 17 (20:53):
Last night and yeah, like Monty was just sad. So
it's a bit different with Hugs. He just steals the phone,
I argue, they complain, so hucks, don't get up. What's
Monty saying to you.
Speaker 11 (21:04):
Oh, she has just been, like the last few weeks
been hard.
Speaker 3 (21:08):
You know.
Speaker 11 (21:09):
I went back for the funeral for Mass's dad, so
I was going for a.
Speaker 17 (21:12):
Couple of days, and then I was six, so I
wasn't around them, like I wasn't able to go near them.
But then the week before that, I was barely home,
like there's a few things I had late at night,
and I actually didn't see the kids for like three
or four days, and then you know, we're going for
another week. So, yeah, she's been really sad. And I
had no idea so and she just said that she
(21:34):
hasn't been hanging.
Speaker 11 (21:35):
Out with dad. Match it made me sad.
Speaker 7 (21:40):
It's kind of lovely though, too, because it just goes
to show.
Speaker 1 (21:42):
Look, you make me cry, because it just goes to
show how important dads are.
Speaker 6 (21:47):
Yeah, and we don't give you credit.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
I mean I give you, I hustle you to all
the time, but you know, like your little ones are
just so important.
Speaker 17 (21:56):
But even the teacher at schools sort of notice there's
been a difference with us.
Speaker 11 (22:00):
Yeah, that's been the reason. So it hit me last
night a bit.
Speaker 7 (22:04):
Yeah, because she misses her dad.
Speaker 11 (22:06):
Yeah, I didn't think any of them missed me.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
Rowing again now with Coorios the podcast.
Speaker 3 (22:15):
Halfway through the podcast, so we're broadcasting live from the
iHeart Studios in Las Vegas this week, and we just
met a few people walking around the office outside. And
these two blokes put together a podcast called Dope Dialogues
where they give yeah and they basically talk about different
(22:35):
different types of marijuana and different types of gummies, different distributors,
different people who are growing it.
Speaker 6 (22:41):
So they do a whole podcast like weekly.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
Yeah, they have awards.
Speaker 4 (22:45):
Actually, Michael, who I was talking to, he described his job.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
He goes, have you ever seen those challenges where people
are eating hot wings and they're describing them to you?
Because that's me. But he's having gummies, so he's talking
about how he's buzzing and things like that. Wow, it's
all legal here obviously.
Speaker 6 (23:03):
Yeah, that stuns me that there is enough content in that.
Speaker 11 (23:07):
He said to me.
Speaker 17 (23:07):
There's a massive festival they do, like you know, comic Con.
Speaker 11 (23:12):
That's that's the way I explained it.
Speaker 3 (23:13):
Comic Con. Yeah, the festival for I guess for marijuana.
Speaker 11 (23:17):
Marijuana is just as big.
Speaker 3 (23:20):
I'm sure.
Speaker 11 (23:22):
They host like the festival and it's incredible.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
I'll tell you what could you imagine being the food
seller one of those because everyone gets the munchies all
of a sudden. The trucks are just tell me.
Speaker 4 (23:35):
So much product would be amazing.
Speaker 6 (23:39):
At the dispensary because when we went into one, yes you've.
Speaker 3 (23:47):
Got to have a look.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
Yeah, and they're everywhere, So I didn't know that the
selection is insane, Like it's like, do you want one
to put you to sleep? Do you want one to
wake you up? Do you want one that's this it's
just like.
Speaker 11 (24:03):
A marble tiles and velvet seats fair.
Speaker 4 (24:06):
Yeah, it's just a lot of money.
Speaker 11 (24:08):
It's the nicest one of nice room I've walked into.
Speaker 3 (24:11):
Well, that's what I was saying with this festival is
that there's so many of these different places that pay
for advertising as well. So it's a huge industry and
I think it's going to be a huge industry in Australia.
I do think when we legalize it, I reckon Queensland
in particular, we have do you reckon they will? I
do think I think we're going to be slow. I
think we're probably going to be ten fifteen years behind here.
(24:32):
We can't even get medicinal to be way longer than
that isn't isn't medicinal? Now still it is?
Speaker 1 (24:41):
But sorry, Ali, here, my friend has it for her migraines,
for clanic migraines.
Speaker 7 (24:45):
You have to jump through it on certain Yeah, you've
got to jump through a lot.
Speaker 6 (24:49):
Of see a particular doctor and get prescribed and everything.
Speaker 7 (24:53):
But she has been a prescription.
Speaker 11 (24:54):
But it's not that good as what I've heard too.
It's not as good as what they get over here.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
I'd imagine you wouldn't be going and doc right, make
me one that's going to give me a real fun bus.
I'm just going to be it's medicinal, yeah, yeah, but
it is. Yeah, that's what.
Speaker 4 (25:08):
But the fact that that's happening, I think we're.
Speaker 3 (25:10):
On the way.
Speaker 6 (25:11):
I don't think Australians can be trusted with marijuana.
Speaker 12 (25:13):
Look at us on the drink, I reckon.
Speaker 7 (25:15):
They've got to think of the greater good here. The
government will go hang on a minute, Ossie's will take
the piss.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
We will take the piss. But able Americans come on
this country, especially here in Vegas place. Haven't you ever walked.
Speaker 11 (25:27):
Around the last few days and go on, Jesus thinks does.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
Stink like, oh, I don't want people smoking it everywhere.
Speaker 6 (25:35):
Control that, I reckon.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
The big issue is going to be driving.
Speaker 11 (25:37):
So give it a kid a bag of jelly bed
saying that, don't throw them. That's what they're going to do.
Speaker 6 (25:44):
Yeah, I know it's a terrible idea, terrible idea to
put Australian.
Speaker 3 (25:49):
I'm a very unlikely advocate. I think I'm gonna you know,
I'm going to be I'm behind it. I think it's
a good idea.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
Well after your Backstreet boys fear experience on a gummy, Yeah,
I just can't wait.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
I know it's not for everyone, and sometimes it's probably
not even for me, but a hard thing would be
like going, Okay, it's just going to be just Friday
night or you know what I mean, because otherwise you go,
that's the afternoon and they're cheap. But if they have
a gummy and then five hours later you're still buzzing
and that's a problem. That's not a deal when it's
(26:24):
bed time.
Speaker 11 (26:25):
Nothing. I don't think there's been any positive this.
Speaker 6 (26:29):
Don't you love that much he's thought about this.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
Yeah, I'm just trying to work out it actually work.
Speaker 11 (26:34):
You know how fireworks are leaguer for one day, and
is it dark hands?
Speaker 3 (26:38):
Yeah, it might be the empty Yeah, I'm.
Speaker 17 (26:40):
Pretty sure that is a bad idea. And there's a
lot of people caught not long after it doing the
same thing. Yeah, there's a massive haul of people getting
caught with fireworks. Yeah, because that's fireworks.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (26:51):
What are they going to do with marijuana?
Speaker 4 (26:54):
Well, they won't just they have to legalize it for.
Speaker 3 (26:56):
More than one day.
Speaker 6 (26:57):
Okay, conversation, it is pointless.
Speaker 7 (27:01):
It is not happening anytime soon.
Speaker 17 (27:02):
You don't know that, And you're trying to crush because
I don't want to stink, trying to put me under
the thumb.
Speaker 14 (27:09):
Man.
Speaker 7 (27:12):
I don't have to do that. You have your own
family that'll take care of that job.
Speaker 3 (27:17):
My mom and dad would be so mad.
Speaker 14 (27:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (27:19):
Let me ring Paul and silver Age their take on it.
Speaker 4 (27:22):
Shall we No? Thank god?
Speaker 3 (27:23):
I don't know how to podcast.
Speaker 2 (27:28):
Now with Coorios the podcast.
Speaker 14 (27:32):
The big news in.
Speaker 3 (27:34):
Brisbane today is the teachers strike for all the state
schools and from ten to thirty this morning the meeting
at south Bank, they'll be marching protesting. They've all been
already been making theirselves heard and particularly against Christophiley.
Speaker 11 (27:57):
Is going to be a rat mate about that.
Speaker 7 (27:59):
It's very clever.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
I'm a massive supporters of the teachers. I have absolutely
no problem with what they're doing. I feel like this
is something that there has been talks been going on
for months and months and they've broken down and I
don't care whatever they pay our teachers.
Speaker 7 (28:14):
They deserve more. They just do.
Speaker 2 (28:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 17 (28:16):
I've seen it firsthand, to be honest, with all the
stuff with Rugby leg going to schools and I've seen
how awful the kids are and the teachers can't do
anything about it. And I full of support it because
you know, and the day they've chosen, you know what,
you've got to make a statement, You've got to make noise,
and they've made noise.
Speaker 3 (28:33):
So yep, that's why they've had to do it today.
Well in fear of all of us being on the
same side. Yeah, I'm actually on the side of the
teachers with this one. I just think their role is
so important and they should be paid more because we
want people to want We want the smart people in
school when you're.
Speaker 4 (28:48):
Growing up to want to do that as a job.
They should be rewarded because it's so important.
Speaker 6 (28:52):
So teachers strike. Is it fair or selfish?
Speaker 7 (28:56):
Back of Oxley, what do you reckon?
Speaker 12 (28:58):
Hey? Guys, look, I agree that teachers are great human beings,
but this is not fair on either the kids or
the parents. This strike should just not be happening. They
chose to get into this profession. They knew what they
were being paid. I don't get pay rises every year
I get there working with kids, But like I said,
their choice.
Speaker 7 (29:15):
They don't get pay rises every year either.
Speaker 1 (29:18):
And surely if people are looking after your children, don't
you want them to be happy?
Speaker 10 (29:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 12 (29:23):
Absolutely, I want them to be happy, but I also
want them to take care of my children. They're not
doing that today, are they?
Speaker 3 (29:28):
So how is it affecting you to day?
Speaker 12 (29:30):
Back, I've got three kids you want you two year six?
They're all at home with me today. I've had to
take a day off work, I've had to pay for
them before and after school care. Still, even though they're
not going to be there, my school said to me, yep,
well you can bring your kids, but we don't know
how many teachers will be there, so we'll just divvy
teachers versus kids up throughout the day. No, thank you,
that's not even supervision.
Speaker 7 (29:51):
Yeah, but beck, how do they get their point across.
Speaker 6 (29:54):
For the rest of us.
Speaker 7 (29:55):
We can go and ask our boss if we can
have a pay rise.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
Yes, they may say no, but at least we have
a right to be able to advocate for ourselves.
Speaker 7 (30:04):
Teachers have to do that.
Speaker 1 (30:05):
They are government employees and this is the only way
these talks have been going on four months.
Speaker 12 (30:11):
Well, then get better union rep. Because obviously they're not
doing their jobs, are they. If it's come to this
point and it's taken this long, get better union Rep.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
I still go back to the point back that these
these teachers are teaching your children. So if they're feeling
badly done by, and there's enough of them of fifty
thousand to be going through the streets of Brisbane, they're
clearly not happy.
Speaker 6 (30:33):
Surely you want them.
Speaker 7 (30:35):
To be loving their job and making your child's experience better.
Speaker 12 (30:39):
Absolutely, I want them to be loving their job. I
want them to be taking care of my kids. Like
I said, they're not doing that today. But it's not
my issue that the government won't listen to what they're doing.
Why are all the parents being like the ones that
have to stay home and take care of the kids.
Today and try and teach them at home. My kids
education is at risk, Isn't it like they could be
learning about stuff today that I can't teach them, But
(31:00):
instead they're, you know, at home, Beck.
Speaker 7 (31:03):
I don't think your youngest is going to miss out.
Speaker 11 (31:05):
On the w you put on the magic school Bush.
Speaker 7 (31:10):
Look, I think youill agree to disagree on this one back.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
I will always advocate, and I think that striking is
one of the things that government employees have to do
to get their point across. But thirteen one oh six'
five do you think the teachers strike is fair or?
Speaker 6 (31:24):
Selfish she A Forest?
Speaker 7 (31:26):
Lake what do you?
Speaker 16 (31:27):
Reckon, firstly in response To beck's comment she's a, parent
why should she have to stay home with her, children
she answered her own, Question she's the. Parent i'm a
teacher AND i get paid five hours a. Day school
goes for six hours a. Day and that doesn't even
include the hours of work That i'm doing outside of, school,
(31:50):
planning setting up, classrooms cutting out things.
Speaker 19 (31:53):
On behalf of the student, blueing doing.
Speaker 16 (31:56):
Laminating preparing. Lessons most of the things in my CLASSROOM
i have paid for out of my own. Pocket, NO
i can't claim them on tax and a lot of
the argument with people is that teachers get school. Holidays
we actually work through our. Holidays SO, i personally and
many other teachers go in and set up our. Classrooms
(32:17):
we are planning, lessons we are planning. Things but it's
not just about the. Pay Like robin, said it's about being.
Happy AND i am so passionate about my. Job but
my question For beck and other people who don't agree
they get paid eight hours a day to go to their.
Job do they run the risk of having chairs thrown at,
them being spat, at being sworn at? Constantly do they
(32:42):
have to provide all of their own resources out of
their own. Pocket i've had cases Where i've had ringworms
for months on. End i've seen teachers beaten, Up i've
seen ticks. Abused i've got schools where there are teachers
parents banned from premises because of the way that they treat.
Parents i'm responsible in high grades for having to teach
(33:05):
children how to toilet because parents aren't doing it. Anymore
IT'S i think it goes beyond What beck is.
Speaker 1 (33:12):
Realizing, Joe, joe without respect for both of, you if
we Got beck back, up would you like to have
a chat to.
Speaker 7 (33:21):
Her, sure, okay, okay all, right.
Speaker 1 (33:25):
Right BECAUSE i think it's really interesting to get both
sides and you have, knowledge and she is also a.
PARENT i think it would be an interesting conversation to
flow if you're up for, it and she is, too, Obviously, yeah.
Speaker 11 (33:37):
Sure we got two from. Youth is it fair or?
Speaker 6 (33:40):
Selfish it's actually.
Speaker 14 (33:42):
FAIR i believe because my daughter's a. TEACHER a few
years into teaching and one of the children asked, them
why are they? Striking and one of them pointed up and, said,
oh for the, money and she, said, no it's not
for the. Money it's for help and support in the
classroom because they get, hit they get thrown, chairs As joe, said.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
And there's not enough.
Speaker 14 (34:11):
Support there's a lot of children with, difficulties behavior, problems learning,
difficulties and WHAT i see go through with my daughter is.
Incredible she Has when she first started at, school she
did probably seven till nine every day for two, years
weekend till nine till nine, pm nine pm doing.
Speaker 3 (34:34):
Well that's the thing you think. About you you've got
homework with her care of in school and things like.
That thank you so, much Se, yeah thank you to
because we've got a couple of people we. Know i've
got very strong opinions that we need to put together.
Speaker 7 (34:45):
Here, Yeah natalie Of, sangate, also what do you think about?
This is it fair or is it?
Speaker 6 (34:50):
Selfish as a.
Speaker 8 (34:51):
Teacher it's fair THAT i strike. Today the job That
i'm currently doing is not the JOB i was trained to.
DO i trained almost thirty years. Ago, now WHEN i
first started, teaching you had a group of children in
front of, you twenty four to thirty children in front of,
you who were actually well behaved that come, in they've
(35:12):
sit down and they need are in big trouble if
they did something. Wrong, today you can have twenty four
to thirty children in front of you and you can
tell them to sit down and they will tell you
to efor you can tell them that they have to
do their work and they will chuck a chair across the.
Room it's not in every, school.
Speaker 12 (35:30):
But it is in a lot of.
Speaker 8 (35:31):
Schools And i've got a lot of friends across the
state that the conditions are so bad and where it's
really gone. Down AND i am not saying anything bad
against the neurodivergent. Population but we have mainstream, education we
have special, education.
Speaker 9 (35:45):
All in the one.
Speaker 8 (35:46):
Room and when it was put together about fifteen years,
ago you may have had one child coming out of
the special education unit coming into your class fully supported
with a. Teacher we now get about half an hour
a week for that child in the. Room they sit
off to the side of the room in their own little,
desk in a tent or doing whatever they can scream,
out they run, around and they take the regular teacher's
(36:09):
time most of them. Day and what happens then is
the regular teacher who was maintaining the behavior of the
class kids are. Kids they're still going to mauck up a.
Little you, could you could monitor, that but when you're
constantly over there to that child who needs all of your.
Attention but it's not just one. Child there's now seven
in the classroom who have extraordinary, needs and you don't
(36:31):
have the. Support there's no full time aid in the
room with. You you've got large class, numbers and then
the workload that you have to do on top of
that is.
Speaker 14 (36:38):
Phenomenal are.
Speaker 11 (36:42):
The numbers come, down there's a chronic short and there's
a reason for.
Speaker 7 (36:44):
That thank you so, Much.
Speaker 1 (36:46):
Natalie now this kind of all blew up because we
had a parent by the name Of beck Of oxley
who said this isn't. Fair she's at home with her.
Kids and then we spoke To, joe who is a
teacher From Forest. Lake these two guys have agreed to
have a conversation. Together Hey, Joe, Hello Hey, Beck Hi.
Speaker 6 (37:09):
JOE i guess go.
Speaker 7 (37:10):
First what would you like to say To?
Speaker 16 (37:12):
BECK i appreciate where you're coming. From, BECK i, too
am a, parent SO i totally appreciate. It, however WHAT
i think as, PARENTS i think what we need to
be appreciative of is the fact that there's a lot
that goes on behind closed doors in. Schools that is
(37:32):
what we are fighting. For AND i myself was torn
as to whether to take today off and strike or,
not BECAUSE i want to be with the. Children but
at the same, time things are not going to improve
if we don't take a. Stand and, yeah, Sorry, BECK i.
Speaker 12 (37:53):
Just think that it shouldn't have got to this point
in the first. Place SO i appreciate that you guys
do deal with a lot as, teachers but this should
have been dealt with months, ago and not in a
way that it affects parents across the entire. State there
are a lot of bosses out there that will potentially
fire these people today because they're just that type of.
Boss you could be at risk of losing a. Job
(38:14):
you could end up and not being able to pay
bills for this week because you've had to take a
day off your casual work to keep the kids. Home
it's just not fair on the.
Speaker 16 (38:22):
Parents, yeah AND i totally get, That but do you
understand back that every teacher that is striking today is
also not getting. Paid so we are not getting paid
for striking.
Speaker 18 (38:33):
Today that's your, choice it's not my.
Speaker 12 (38:36):
Choice it's not my choice to take a day off
my casual job for, instance because you guys have decided to,
strike you guys chose to take a day on. Paid
you have the option to go in today and be. Paid,
STILL i understand that it's not fully your fault as,
teachers but this should have been dealt with months. Ago
this should not have got to the point where the
parents are now having to keep the kids home and
(38:57):
a strike is.
Speaker 16 (38:58):
Happening, Yep AND i appreciate, that and that is on the.
Government but you are a. Parent it is your responsibility
to care for your. Children for first and, foremost it
IS i am struck with now that want teachers to
do their jobs for.
Speaker 18 (39:14):
Them it is you are the.
Speaker 16 (39:16):
Parent SO i am a. PARENT i am responsible when
my children are. SICK i need to take a day
off school when my Children it's like any other. Job
but we get paid five hours a day to do the,
work Like suja, said from seven am to nine pm
at night to get five hours.
Speaker 1 (39:37):
Pay if you work six. HOURS i don't understand.
Speaker 16 (39:40):
That that is what teachers get paid twenty five hours a,
week and that is what people are. Missing the point
of a school day in, itself in front of the,
children goes for six hours a. Day and, no we
don't get two lunch breaks a day because we have
to do, duties because somebody has to supervise and care
for the children while they're out in the playground and
(40:00):
while they're. Eating teachers get paid for five hours a.
Day and if you on a contract and not a
permanent staff, member you don't get paid THROUGH, holid but
you are expected to still stump up and do report
cards and parent teacher interviews and all of that sort of.
Speaker 3 (40:16):
Stuff let's hope we got to resolve out of. TODAY
i let's say that this strike at least something's going
to happen from. It thank you, Back thank You. Joe
you both spoke brilliantly and we really appreciate you getting
being a big part of the.
Speaker 2 (40:27):
Show run again now With coorios the Podcast.
Speaker 3 (40:33):
Live From Las, vegas and we've come here to see
The Backstreet. Boys if you've missed some of the, highlights
they're all over our. Socials we saw them at the.
Sphere what an incredible.
Speaker 1 (40:41):
Show and we were on such a high, yesterday like
we were pumping and it was. Fantastic and then we
got a phone call from our boss's BOSS, dB who
is seriously upset with.
Speaker 8 (40:53):
Us i'm looking at this back end credit card.
Speaker 1 (40:57):
Expenditure you think you have had a good couple of.
Speaker 14 (41:00):
Days just know the budget is, spent the credit card is.
Speaker 3 (41:03):
Maxed, okay so want to work?
Speaker 11 (41:05):
Anymore?
Speaker 3 (41:06):
None, well everything was a lot more expensive than we.
Speaker 11 (41:10):
EXPECTED a little bit of a smack in the, face there.
Speaker 4 (41:12):
Was it wasn't.
Speaker 6 (41:13):
It we did make some dodgy, choices but, anyway are
you moving?
Speaker 3 (41:16):
On on, reflection we didn't need pool side, rooms but
it seemed like a good upgrade at the.
Speaker 4 (41:21):
Time she talked up like it was value the concation
what we.
Speaker 3 (41:25):
Done So todd of our producers had this idea about
how we might be able to make some money.
Speaker 2 (41:31):
Back don't you have a bluey normal something that you
could pawn?
Speaker 11 (41:35):
Off do, You?
Speaker 6 (41:37):
Reckon how dare?
Speaker 3 (41:38):
You we Brought we brought the exclusive blue. Nome now
these things you can't even buy them In.
Speaker 4 (41:42):
Australia they sold out about five.
Speaker 2 (41:44):
MINUTES i, reckon got to like a pawn shop, something
get rid of.
Speaker 7 (41:47):
It that's some extra.
Speaker 6 (41:48):
Cash, know he's awkward to carry.
Speaker 7 (41:52):
AROUND i know he's, ceramic but he's a collector's. Item
that sold out At bunning's in like thirty.
Speaker 6 (42:00):
Seconds and we have.
Speaker 3 (42:01):
One, YEAH i couldn't buy one on the day that
they went on the. MARKET i got there at like nine,
o'clock well just after, nine and that'd sold out hours.
Earlier but, yeah we're.
Speaker 11 (42:09):
A bit different back in The.
Speaker 7 (42:10):
Australia come, on so, Grudgingly, yes we took him To
now what's it. Called the real name of it Is
gold And Silver.
Speaker 3 (42:19):
Silver, yeah but you'll see it if you see it
On foxtel or any of the other. Shows they call
it Porn. Stars the show is called Porn stuff and
so it's a porn shop where you go like a
cash converters and you take your, stuff.
Speaker 11 (42:29):
And so you think they can sell everything.
Speaker 6 (42:31):
There, Really, yeah well they do sell everything.

there for?
Speaker 3 (46:40):
Fashion?
Speaker 15 (46:41):
Yes, yes, no So i've got the family vet surgery
and SO i grew up with the animals and you,
know with the big dinosaur out the front of the,
place and eventually sort of everything led me To, london
to move over a couple of years ago and been
here ever.
Speaker 11 (46:55):
Since so you didn't want to take off the family
and be Vet?
Speaker 15 (46:58):
No, NO i THINK i can stitch the clothes by
dare you can stitch up the? Animals?
Speaker 7 (47:04):
Okay so how did all this?
Speaker 15 (47:07):
HAPPEN i was just in my studio here In london
and THEN i had a little notification pop up my
phone and a stylist had sort of given me a
shout out as one of her favorite emerging. Designers to watch.
It SO i ended up sending her a message saying, like, oh.
Omg we said of kept in contact and then EVENTUALLY
i got an email about a project they were working
on that turned out to be a music.
Speaker 3 (47:28):
Video so this is for the music video For. Subway
but whose idea was? It to make the clothes out of?
Hair human?
Speaker 11 (47:37):
Hair is it? Real uni and? Air?
Speaker 15 (47:39):
Yes, YEAH i definitely we wanted one of the human.
Hair that brief. Was it was really that the hair
was part of it and something they wanted to incorporate
and have fun with, that you, know had a bit
of a fantasy with it and something, different and so
it was Quite it's quite a. CHALLENGE i haven't worked,
with you, know making clothes out of hair, before but
bords with something.
Speaker 3 (48:00):
Different whose hair is?
Speaker 15 (48:01):
IT i don't know who she, is BUT i can
only thank her for donating?
Speaker 2 (48:05):
It?
Speaker 3 (48:05):
Wow, okay was someone donated their?
Speaker 14 (48:08):
Hair do you?
Speaker 9 (48:09):
Yes like the like wig?
Speaker 6 (48:10):
Supply so kind of explain the outfit to. Me what
does it look.
Speaker 15 (48:14):
Like there's a bra with like plaid straps and then
hair on the cups sort of swelled to look like cold,
hair and then the skirt is also made from hair
cold and all woven with. Tinsel they wanted a bit
of sparkle to it and really sort of playing into
that show girl sort of.
Speaker 6 (48:32):
Style, okay and in chapel ron red hair, color.
Speaker 15 (48:37):
Yes, yeah it was very important to get the match
from now this is real.
Speaker 11 (48:40):
Hair hell. Yeah and obviously you've designed it for. Her
how does that? Work do you get paid for that
dress or is it like a like an ongoing.
Speaker 15 (48:51):
Payment, well, yeah it was sort of just just for this,
project just for the, outfit just going backwards and, forwards
sending sketches and designs and working with those Stylist genesis
to you, know have something That chapel sort of liked
and you know it was going to be comfortable wearing
in and that sort of fit with the vision of
the music video.
Speaker 11 (49:10):
Add on because she's famous In.
Speaker 7 (49:14):
Oh, god no, no, NO i just keep it all.

Speaker 4 (49:28):
Find did you have all this hair?
Speaker 15 (49:30):
Everywhere it's still, everywhere so it's you, know still finding
bits of, it but it's it was a. Challenge lots
of hairspray got me through, it and bit of glue
and lots of stitches to keep it all. Together it was,
interesting but you, know a good. Challenge how did you
get it to?
Speaker 7 (49:46):
Her did you hand deliver?
Speaker 15 (49:47):
IT i planned to just pllo out myself some time
BECAUSE i only ended up WITH i think four days
to make the outfit from scratch and you, know have
it to the post office and shipping company to get it.
There and THEN i got a call from the, team
sort of her, team, saying you, know hopefully the. Outfit you,
know it's all on. Schedule and THEN i checked the
tracking and it was still sitting In london and had
(50:08):
to be there the next. Day SO i ran to
the post office and begged for the parcel, back and
then visa For america and on the plane to drop
off at the set next.

of a drop and. Go but then sort of just
in the hotel room the next day and then a
bit of paparazzi pictures were coming, out chill sort of
seeing her sort of you, know wearing it to meet.

Speaker 3 (51:50):
Podcast, now the big news is the teachers strike which
is affecting families all Across.
Speaker 1 (51:56):
Queensland, yeah they're gathering at ten o'clock and then going
to walk and protest across The Victoria bridge From South
bank from South. Bank you, know it's something that's been
going on for months and a number of them were
so unhappy that they stood outside the front Of Parliament
house yesterday screaming.
Speaker 3 (52:23):
Pay us, Fully chrystal fully it works.
Speaker 7 (52:25):
Very, clever Little Red, yes right.
Speaker 3 (52:28):
There, yeah but is THIS i, MEAN i hope that
there's something good comes of this strike at the very,
least because obviously it's affecting a lot of. PEOPLE a
lot of parents haven't had the day off.
Speaker 6 (52:37):
Today, yeah so we're asking this morning teacher.
Speaker 7 (52:40):
Strike is it fair or?
Speaker 1 (52:41):
Selfish karen Of Akasha Ridge, Hello, Karen, hi what do you?
Speaker 14 (52:49):
RECKON i wouldn't say it's selfishall say it's, unfair unfair that.
Speaker 19 (52:58):
No ONE i work control care and no one feels
like good enough for their. Job they feel they are
working a lot more.
Speaker 15 (53:06):
So, yeah it is a job you.
Speaker 19 (53:09):
Do, unfortunately what they have to put up with is
unfair and more needs to be. Done but AS i,
said childcare under, five they're pretty. Fierce we get, hurt
we get things thrown at, us and we don't.
Speaker 3 (53:26):
Strike. Yeah do you feel like it's just part of
the Geek?
Speaker 19 (53:30):
WELL i think so when you go into, it, yes
you look at a. Child people have been bagging. TEACHERS
i think they're. Wonderful they do so, much but you
do know and when you take the job to pay
and what's.
Speaker 11 (53:44):
Expected but, YEAH i do believe it's become a lot less.
Speaker 20 (53:51):
UNSAFE i guess you could say in classrooms Because i've
been there for the for the football, stuff And i've
seen the way kids act and speak to their, teachers
AND i think it's horrible because if we did that
WHEN i was a, kid you got in a lot of.
Speaker 3 (54:06):
Trouble, yeah you, know.
Speaker 11 (54:07):
It was a lot easier for them to to get
up you back.
Speaker 6 (54:10):
Then and well they hid us back.
Speaker 3 (54:12):
Then well not WHEN i was a skilled because you're
thirty so you were. There so no cane when you,
Know but they.
Speaker 11 (54:18):
Just they were allowed to discipline. More but there was
also a lot of, like there's more teachers in our.
Speaker 17 (54:22):
CLASSROOM i remember every CLASSROOM i, had there was at
least one extra teacher there for the kids that needed
extra help the whole the.
Speaker 11 (54:31):
Whole, time whole, day not the whole day, time not
just part.
Speaker 1 (54:33):
Time, Well hannah Of, balmol you're a former, teacher what
do you think about?
Speaker 7 (54:37):
This, YEAH i Am.
Speaker 18 (54:39):
ROBIN i used to be a teacher and Now i'm
a parent of two, daughters and WHEN i was, teaching
there was just such shocking. Behavior i'm talking like brick's
being thrown at teachers' heads and some of the things
children would do definitely not suitable for morning. Radio but
burnout which is so prevalent amongst, Teachers and maybe you
(55:00):
could accept that if it was a high paying, job
but it most certainly. Isn't AND i can fully understand
why up to thirty percent of teachers new teachers leave
job within the first five, years AND i was one of.
Them they definitely deserve more, money they definitely deserve far better.
Conditions and even this, MORNING i bumped into a teacher
(55:20):
friend who's striking. Today she's not, marching but she's striking
as it's part of the. Union she's not getting, paid
but she's spending the day in her classroom prepping for her.
Students so if that doesn't tell me how dedicated teachers,
ARE i don't know what. Will but they this is
one inconvenient day for, parents but for, teachers it's every.
Speaker 14 (55:40):
DAY i tell you.
Speaker 3 (55:41):
What that's really interesting stat, though thirty percent dropping out
in the first couple of. Years you think about that
any other business, person that type of, turnover that's the
worst thing for your, business right because you're training new,
people people are leaving because the job's no. Good you've
got to change the way the business is otherwise it's not.
Speaker 1 (55:56):
Working and you, know we don't want it to become
like The Queensland Police force where they've got so few police. Officers,
NOW i mean maybe we do because that those guys
are getting a lot more incentives and a lot more
pay because we were running the risk for a. While
there of just the same. Deal too many people leaving the,
profession and they were, like we need.
Speaker 3 (56:16):
Them AND i was one of.
Speaker 17 (56:17):
THOSE i always thought teacher's got a lot of holidays,
too UNTIL i ran into one of my friends that
that was a teacher at the, time and they actually, said, well,
no we actually spent half of, it you know setting
up for the next term and then marking kids from that,
term and you, know getting a lot of things ready
for the.
Speaker 11 (56:34):
Kids so they still kind of are working through a
couple some of those.
Speaker 3 (56:39):
WEEKS i Reckon chris. FULLY i, mean you've shown that
you're a man of, action like the way that you've
got things moving with the with The, Olympics you've shown
that you actually get things. Done let's, go let's fix this.
Speaker 6 (56:51):
