Speaker 2 (00:26):
Robin and Kibb Now with Koreos the podcast Good Day.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
It's Robin and Kiff Now with Choreo.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
It's on demand the podcast, so we do the radio
show here live and then normally afterwards we record some
extra stuff for the podcast and just moments ago for us,
the Queensland State of Origin team has been named, so
we're going to get into that at halfway through the podcast.
Allow I find out what Corey thinks about some of
the changes, because it's there a few injuries on the weekend,
(00:57):
a lot of injuries.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
I've just seen something that is a little alarming even
for me who knows nothing. Okay, all right, but you
can hopefully clear it up.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
At half time. All right, let's do it right.
Speaker 4 (01:09):
Now.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Podcast thirteen six five our number of fever. You want
to get involved with the show?
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Selena of Race for you, good morning.
Speaker 5 (01:19):
Good morning? How are you guys?
Speaker 6 (01:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:21):
Good, thank you?
Speaker 1 (01:22):
What would you like to say?
Speaker 5 (01:25):
I just wanted to say that I'm a Corey, I'm
a bad Broncos tragic and I named my son after you.
Speaker 7 (01:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:33):
Yes, he's nine, just started playing. First game was on
the weekend for the Bridbank, playing Bears, and he did
so well. I was so proud of him. He texted
me on his little space talk watch. I was proud
of me too, mum because it was Dad's weekend so
I had to go and watch anyway, all the way
(01:53):
down at Lowood. But yeah, I think what you're doing
is great too.
Speaker 6 (01:56):
Oh no, thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
Can we go back to the bit where you said
you named your son Corey after Coreots.
Speaker 5 (02:02):
Yes, because my other son is a Christopher, so I
needed another set. Yeah, and Corey was it. And it's
even spelt the same way and everything, and any Corey
that goes on the team, now Corey thinks it's it's
my team. You know, they're the Cory's. We're going to win.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
That's so sweet. Did you know, Selena?
Speaker 2 (02:25):
You know my real name is Christopher and my sister
called me Kipstaffer, which is why I got the nickname.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
So your son's a name after this. You don't have
a Robin in the family.
Speaker 5 (02:34):
No, that's such a coincidence.
Speaker 7 (02:37):
There you go. You've got a Christopher in a chrys
that's so good.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
And what position does he play.
Speaker 5 (02:46):
He had twelve on his back on the weekend. But
I'm sure he just doesn't want to play whatever he can,
so I think of that.
Speaker 6 (02:52):
Age and they just they just run around and just
have fun. They just have fun.
Speaker 5 (02:56):
Yeah, and that's all they've been doing. And he's got
his next game this weekend on Saturday morning. Oh my gosh,
nine am. But hey we can be.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
God, that's good, good Lena, that's so cool little Corey.
We'll have a great time playing Little Corey. Good on
your mate.
Speaker 6 (03:14):
Yeah, and good luck for this weekend.
Speaker 5 (03:17):
Yes, thank you.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
It's got a singer though. If you've got a who
have you named your kid after?
Speaker 3 (03:24):
Thirteen?
Speaker 8 (03:24):
One?
Speaker 3 (03:24):
O six five is our number? Do you know who
your name? Raffie after Raphael? I mean Nadal? Nadal was
playing great really the time.
Speaker 7 (03:36):
It's better than what my children are named.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
Y's get to that.
Speaker 6 (03:41):
Ron Now with podcast.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Just had Selena tell us she named a little boy
after you, Corey.
Speaker 6 (03:49):
Yeah, I'm honestly honored because there's not many Cory's getting
around him.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
There was a stage there well, we had like three
three Cory's for the Broncos everywhere. Yeah, yeah, Cory Peik
spell Corey Norman Cory's Everywhere Where.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Did Haxton come from?
Speaker 6 (04:08):
I just liked it. I picked weird names. I wonder
call in Texas.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
Oh, and then you've got the Montana.
Speaker 6 (04:15):
Yeah you went we in American tragic.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
I'm like, yeah, you couldn't do it.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Yeah, my children are named after alcohol, but not on purpose.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
Not on purpose.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
But it seems like it's such an alcoholic move to
make that mistake.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
So what are they?
Speaker 9 (04:32):
So?
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Finn is finn beer Ye blue and Wine. Yeah, Piper Champagne.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Bailey, Yeah, everywhere, Yeah, Linden of Kalanga.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
Hey, sorry, now it's is this you or if you
name one of your kids?
Speaker 9 (04:52):
One of my friends that I used to grab with. Yeah,
she's done a fair bit of traveling and everything, and
her and I always traveled and everything. She's ended up
having five kids and named them after where that was conceived.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
Like, what are the names?
Speaker 9 (05:10):
Well, we've got Hunters in the Hunter Valley.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
It's a busy weekend, Alaska, Alaska. Oh that's cool because
that's a colon weaver.
Speaker 9 (05:20):
We've got Paris as well.
Speaker 7 (05:23):
Cool names we got.
Speaker 9 (05:26):
The river has him in a river apparent river?
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Okay, okay, do you know which famous this is your
little brother Trampoline.
Speaker 7 (05:42):
Beckhams.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Yeah, Brooklyn Beckham is named after where he was conceived.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Brooklyn's article.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
But River, I think is a really extreme the bridgie
River and there's one did you have one more London? Yeah?
Speaker 9 (05:54):
And there was Adelaide, Adelaide, Alaska, Adelaide Hunter River Paris
not like River is a name Ye.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
Swimming.
Speaker 6 (06:07):
I didn't get a kidnamed Rndal.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
The now the podcast, so Cory's new member to the
team has come from the Broncos is now on air
every day.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
Which means that other people are now asking him to
do things. And on Friday, and there was a lot
of discussion leading into this, like Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, because
you were asked to do what is considered the third
biggest fear of everyone on the planet. Number one is spiders,
Number two is snakes. Number three is public speaking.
Speaker 6 (06:48):
You can tell I was nervous.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
Yeah, So what was it that you had to mc?
Speaker 3 (06:54):
Like a charity event?
Speaker 6 (06:56):
I was asked a charity event at Reef Gasworks.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
And how many people in the room, Oh.
Speaker 6 (07:04):
This would be hard. I'm going to say between one
hundred and one hundred and thirty probably, but it was.
But it was hard because it was half on the
right and half of the left, so I wasn't really
I wasn't standing in the middle like you know, behind
a big thing. And I'm like, okay, yep, this is yep,
this is a great start. Okay, I've got to really
(07:24):
move And did you have a podium?
Speaker 10 (07:26):
No?
Speaker 2 (07:26):
Okay, that's such a safety bar.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (07:30):
The best part about it was, you know, it was
for a great cause. It was called you know, it
was for a charity of out Back Futures, and it
was just it's about farmers and mental health and there
were and just you know, I guess helping him through
a lot of tough times. So that's why, Yeah, I
really want to do a good job.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
And you weren't the keynote speaker, Like it wasn't like
there was someone else getting from A to B, T
C to D, and then you just rocked up into
a story.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
You were the guy, the guy the toilet's are here there,
welcome ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 6 (08:00):
The funniest part about that into that Yeah, but yeah, anyway,
like I started the I started the day, and right
at the start, I'm like, Okay, good evening everyone and
everyone just stopped and turn I.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
Just went, oh, yeah, they're looking at you.
Speaker 6 (08:18):
I'm like, oh, this is hard. And then I just
forgot everything I was a better say, and I went, yeah,
it's a really good day to be here. I get
my thoughts back. I was like pausing, and I went, oh,
this is going aroundous. And then I got through the
first part and you know, explain that the charity and
why you know it means you know a bit more
(08:41):
to me obviously growing up on the farm and and
all this and that, and then you know just about
what was happening in the day. And I had like
a little joke ready for a bit later on, but
I went, I got to use it.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
You're just fining horrible.
Speaker 6 (08:54):
And I went, look, by the way, this is my
first ever MCing job. And look if if I start upward,
if you're doing it wrong, or if you know, if
it's not it's not going well, please keep it to yourself.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
And I don't want to hear about every again. And
then and then they and you broke the eyes. Broke
the eyes, and then they're all on your side.
Speaker 6 (09:13):
Yeah, And it ended up being a pretty good day
in the end. But I was also worried about they
meant to raise, like I've never thought about until I
got asked to do the job.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
But then I went, what if.
Speaker 6 (09:26):
I raised nothing?
Speaker 3 (09:27):
If I don't make any money, Yeah, if.
Speaker 6 (09:29):
They're backwards from last year and stuff, all those fears
were just okay, that.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
Is not your responsibility.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
But I don't know.
Speaker 6 (09:37):
I just always I'd love to be a reason why
they've raised more.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Okay, just having you in the room would have meant
that people with money will spend money.
Speaker 6 (09:46):
Well, just the way that you know. Obviously I can
keep reminding about while we're here, and you know why
it's so important and stuff like that was a thing,
and I believe that actually probably raised way more than
they thought, so as as.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
The mc cory. And also, so I not somebody who
likes to have a beer.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
How how did you did you have a couple through
the lunch?
Speaker 6 (10:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (10:09):
Yeah, okay, So did you find yourself being more hilarious
by the Yeah?
Speaker 6 (10:12):
I got there an hour early and the guy goes, look,
it's pretty chill back lunch. Do you want to be
Look if you ask you invited me here. And then
I had two before I started, and they were schooners
our points, and and then I had another one, and
then the people I was with because I kept every
(10:33):
time I was like one maker. I'd just take the
piss out of me by Laura and his mate and
my neighbor because don't worry about my My.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
My hanger on was over there.
Speaker 6 (10:43):
Just leave them be on their own. And but they
were like, that is your only bit while you're up
there speaking, They shut it down.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
Do it once, my friend.
Speaker 6 (10:56):
Before the last segment. They end up buying like all
these mixes, and it was good. I made sure I wasn't.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
Did you ask did you ask for feedback at the end?
Do you know if they were well?
Speaker 6 (11:08):
I end up getting numbers And the CEO of Bran
Sweeney of that feure said, mate, you know, I thought
you're really good and I really enjoyed it. And you've
got more gigs can He said, you know, I love
your details and Lloyd's auctions. I think it was the
guy that runs out or used to own that he
got my detail.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
You could be an auctioneer's perfect monster.
Speaker 10 (11:32):
That was good.
Speaker 6 (11:35):
It's hard.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
It is hard. I realize the next.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
Time we do an event, I want you to do
the auction.
Speaker 10 (11:45):
Now with.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Sasha and Harrison. Can you guys hear us, Yes we can. Okay,
Well we have some good news.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Yeah, we have some great news. And before we officially
say it, have a listen to how we see your
son Harrison Session.
Speaker 10 (12:06):
Harrison from Bellbowie, oldest of three brothers, full footy nut
and part time bedtime negotiator. He's read every Nurl autobiography
ever written, some twice, and will quote player stats to
anyone within his shot. Mum and Dad's nightly routine includes
reminding Harrison that it's midnight, the light spill lines, and
(12:26):
no reading about Billy Slater's tackle count does not count sleep.
When he's got buried in footy books. He's out playing
fullback for the South's Graceful Hounds. Small in size but
hits like he's sponsored by Concrete. He got to knock
this year by missing the school rep team, but inspired
by Jonathan Thurston's book, he told his family it's not
(12:48):
the size, it's the effort.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
Then he laced up.
Speaker 10 (12:51):
His boots, gave it another crack, and hit training so
hard he nearly wiped out the drink cooler on his
way in. It's worth noting that while at the Minecraft
movie during the intense chicken jockey scene, he didn't throw
popcorn with self control from legendary Yes, how smart the
kind tougher than a two dollars steak makes him for
(13:13):
today's little League legend the Bell Bowry bookworm Harrison.
Speaker 8 (13:21):
What.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
Harrison?
Speaker 1 (13:24):
Welcome to Corey's Little League?
Speaker 11 (13:26):
Thank you?
Speaker 5 (13:27):
Okay?
Speaker 6 (13:28):
How was that made for an intrade? Was all those?
That's correct?
Speaker 12 (13:31):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (13:32):
So you've really read all the you know, Billy Slater's book,
all these autobiographies, have you?
Speaker 11 (13:36):
Ah? Yeah, and Coy when is your coming out?
Speaker 3 (13:39):
When's your book?
Speaker 10 (13:40):
Mate?
Speaker 1 (13:40):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (13:41):
Mate, that'd be a long book, trust me, that'd.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
Be a big one.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
Just your injuries.
Speaker 6 (13:46):
Yeah, that'd be the first twenty chapters. No, I've never
even thought about that one, to be honest.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Well maybe, I mean Harrison's ready give us a thought,
not a big shoots to fill this JT.
Speaker 6 (13:58):
Wally Lewis.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
So it sounds like Sasha Harrison.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
You know, he's seen, even at his young age, has
seen some adversity, but just loves the game.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
He loves to play.
Speaker 13 (14:07):
Yeah, he loves it. He's super passionate, probably too passionate sometimes,
but he loves the game and he really loves playing
and loves watching anything to do with it. But he's
got a lot of passion, which is lovely. I love that.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
That's great. That's what we need.
Speaker 6 (14:21):
That's what it's all about, Harrison, having fun and just
bringing the passion back.
Speaker 3 (14:25):
Mate.
Speaker 6 (14:25):
So congratulations, thank you.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
Are you're excited, buddy?
Speaker 11 (14:31):
Kind of?
Speaker 3 (14:34):
Kind of?
Speaker 11 (14:35):
Oh, I don't know, I'm not really excited to far
from my Grand Finals.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
To keep your temper nice and even you don't fire
all your bullets before you go war.
Speaker 6 (14:48):
Have you thought about the factor playing in front of
like maybe three thousand people.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
Four thousand.
Speaker 11 (14:53):
Yeah, it's a big thing to do. So I think
this will be an opportunity for me to get back
playing the game I love and playing for fun, not
to win.
Speaker 6 (15:04):
Yeah, you might have just got the scene next to
your name.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
Yeah, this could be captain material for sure.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
Good Onja, Harrison, and thank you for registering him Sasha.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
We'll see you guys at Corey's Little League.
Speaker 13 (15:18):
Sounds good. Thanks guys, Thank you.
Speaker 6 (15:22):
Now with Cory the podcast.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
Halfway through the podcast, so the Queensland have named their
squad this morning. I'll go through really quickly Caylen Ponger
at number one, Xavier Coats and Valentine Holmes on the wings.
Then the centers, you've got Robert Toyer for who plays, Yeah,
plays for the Roosters. The Hammer from the Dolphins is
the other center. Cam Munster is going to be five
(15:48):
eighth daily Cherry Evans the halfback mofod Awaka from the
Gold Coast. In the forwards, the other forward is Tino
Fasula Ali.
Speaker 3 (15:59):
Number nine. You've got Harry Grant.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
The second rowers, Reuben Cotter and Jeremiah nan I, Patty
Carrigan for the Broncos in at Locke, and then you've
got the bench, Tom Diddon, Lindsay Collins both for More
and Trent Liero and Kirk.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
Man's the eighteenth man.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
So yeah, a few changes there, a few that it's
pretty similar to the team that you thought it was
going to be, except for those three injuries.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
So they's had to be three replacements.
Speaker 6 (16:26):
Corey, Yeah, I think the blokes that have been in
replace through injury.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
You know that.
Speaker 6 (16:34):
Robert Toyer, I think he's very well deserved to be honest,
I think he's a great talent. He's had a sort
of a tough start his rugby league career. He had
a few injuries, back to back big surgeries. I think
I believe he's.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
A big boys.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
Hundred yeah, undred and twenty years old. He's one hundred kilos.
He is junior club as the Dolphins. Yeah, and like
most good Queenslanders, he was born in Auckland.
Speaker 7 (16:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (17:01):
But they come here because they want to be part
of a great team. Eventually.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
Yeah, I love having it, Like I always feel good
having a couple of key weeks.
Speaker 6 (17:09):
They say, have you seen the video where they go
through the states and like pretty much all of New
Zealand is Queensland, and yes, well and Queland.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
Yeah, so toys come in because because Cobbo and Cobbo
is injured.
Speaker 6 (17:25):
And calf both injured. Look, the rest of the team
starting teams pretty obvious as to why, you know, Ruben
Cottra and Jammine and in the back round is really good.
They're starting teams like it's a very solid team to
be honest, Like they're all tough, you know, they they've
(17:46):
they've been a part of these games, except for obviously Robert,
but look he's he's been playing great footy. But the
bench I think is actually pretty good. You know, they've
got a fair few blows that can play multiple positions
if if there's injuries, and they're all tough, you know,
both firms have got a fair bit of speed, so
(18:07):
he could probably cover.
Speaker 3 (18:08):
So if we needed a Cento center, it's got injured. Yeah, okay, but.
Speaker 6 (18:12):
Look the Trent Loerra and the Kurt Man seventeen eighteen.
I think they can always you never know if that's
going to change during the week.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
Oh yeah, but you're in your harder hearts.
Speaker 6 (18:25):
Oh no, it's just more like they.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
Want Kurt at seventeen would you.
Speaker 6 (18:30):
Oh, it's just I guess it depends what they want
to look for, but that they're probably looking at Kurt
and Tommy did and are probably too similar, do you
know what I mean? Yeah, you only have that utility
half hooka.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
Only one of them.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
But tell you what's interesting, playing really good looking down
at the clubs.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
That's what I've just done.
Speaker 3 (18:46):
I've just done it. Yeah, okay, So four Storm.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Players yep, So clearly a lot of Queenslanders go to
Melbourne always.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
Yeah, that makes sense.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
Yes, three Cowboy players, Yeah, that's normal. Three Titan players
Queens are Yeah, no, I know but I'm like saying,
but there's more Titans than Broncos. Yeah, there's only two
Broncos and two Dolphins.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
So we've got Kragan at thirteen and is there even
only one because Jesse he's a nineteenth man so he
probably will be in the squad, but he probably won't.
Speaker 3 (19:19):
Play one Bronco. But what's good with that? Why we
have it?
Speaker 6 (19:24):
We have our same team through most of the olden period.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
That's right. It won't hurt the Broncos as much as
it normally does. Although we've got.
Speaker 6 (19:31):
Players playing for New South Wales we need to win.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
We've got We've lost Hals he'll be playing for New
South Wales engined.
Speaker 6 (19:40):
There's years where we've missed like eight nine players.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
True, I know this is my point.
Speaker 6 (19:44):
He'd rather miss nine players in the.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
State of origin.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
True, I mean we've got all Yeah, just went seems weird.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
There's more Dolphins than Broncos if you go through it,
which I just did.
Speaker 6 (19:57):
Like our team, there's I'm trying to get Benny Hunt
he's injured. We've got recy Wolsy Walsh is injured, Cobo's
Injuredo is injured. Yeah, he's been that's his first game
for Honus. The headlines if that happened would have been
through have been horrible.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
If he plays like he did this weekend, he's probably
he'll probably be in game two, you'd reckon.
Speaker 6 (20:23):
If he keeps playing on that, he'll pick be in
the squad.
Speaker 3 (20:26):
So are you happy with this?
Speaker 6 (20:27):
I think it's good side?
Speaker 1 (20:29):
Is this the same side as you picked?
Speaker 6 (20:31):
The only difference I had was Trent and Kurt.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
Okay, you had Kurt in the team? Yeah, okay, okay.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
And is this a winning side?
Speaker 3 (20:42):
Yeah, of course it is.
Speaker 6 (20:43):
It's still a really good team.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
Honestly, like I know, we're all our blood runs maroon,
but is this a good deal?
Speaker 6 (20:51):
The one thing you look at is there, especially for
the DeBie Tians, like the way they're playing now? Okay,
so if they're in form, which that Robert guy is.
And then you look at obviously some players that have
played previously and like their team may not be gone
as good at the moment in the NRL, but the
way they've played in Origin, if they've always stood up
and honestly, that whole team they're all bloody good players.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
Who would they have found out.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
Last night?
Speaker 6 (21:20):
Usually late last night like some boys, maybe a little
bit earlier, just because if you've got to fly from Melbourne,
you know you probably need to get a flight. They
got a book fights and whatnot.
Speaker 1 (21:32):
And do you remember waiting for the call? Do you
remember sitting at home thinking they should have called me
by now?
Speaker 6 (21:37):
I remember I think one you actually either forgot or
or Jeane was going to tell me. Yeah, and Jean forgot,
I can't remember, but I got it like later than normal,
and I was sitting at home and yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
What did you get your text? Or how did you
find out?
Speaker 6 (21:53):
I think they said, oh, I meant to tell you
who said, because sometimes the club will tell you or
like usually the coach will ring most times. But the
club was, look, you're probably intention in contentent, so just
be ready. Yeah, And then yeah, you sort of you're
sort of waiting for the phone call.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
But did you think, no, I'm not in.
Speaker 6 (22:10):
Well I came later than I thought me a bit later.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
I'm like, okay, so it would have been you've been sweating.
Speaker 6 (22:17):
Yeah, I wasn't to be picked, but I just was
sitting there and I'm like, I didn't get picked. And
then sounds so cruel, doesn't it and you're in.
Speaker 11 (22:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (22:32):
Well yeah, the first time I got picked, I was
really nervous, Like I was sitting there waiting and I'm like, oh,
maybe I didn't get it. And then yeah, the phone rang?
Speaker 3 (22:44):
Who called you? Who was it Kevy?
Speaker 6 (22:46):
Because my first year was Kevy. Yeah, yeah, cool. I
think it's about eight o'clock or nine o'clock.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
Yeah was it was? He awkward at first, it was
like later than normal.
Speaker 10 (22:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (22:57):
So I just was walking around and seeing his number
and I went, oh, yeah, And then I told Marlon
my dog.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
Of course, yeah, Tigs came second.
Speaker 6 (23:08):
Then she wasn't.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
I don't think that's the greatest pickup line ever.
Speaker 3 (23:14):
Hey, babe, just name me.
Speaker 6 (23:18):
Yeah, we were dating. I think we're and but yeah,
I told Marlon dog if I didn't get picked, would
have loved me still.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
I know, I know.
Speaker 6 (23:32):
Thank God for the dogs.
Speaker 4 (23:35):
Now, the podcast Touchdoor in marketplace parlances that would be
called as new as New condition Robin.
Speaker 10 (23:49):
You guys think.
Speaker 1 (23:53):
It's hilarious because a couple of weeks ago, I said
that I bought a adventure bike, a Harley David adventure bike,
which I can't actually drive, and I did it because
Olivia and my boyfriend is a bike rider and we
have the most fun cruising round on his motorbike. But
he's got this huge bike and be gonna ask me
what it is and I can't tell you, but he
calls it the rolling sofa. It's so comfortable.
Speaker 3 (24:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (24:15):
So but we want to go a bit more afield
and go to more outback places and be able to
do dirt roads and you can really only do that
on an adventure.
Speaker 6 (24:23):
Bike on a dirt.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
Bike, but it's a Harley Davidson dirt bike. Anyway, we
brought it from this guy out at Redcliffe and we
got one of because Olivia is part of the Veterans
Motorcycle Club, so we got one of the veteran guys
to go and check it out, who is like a
mechanic and he knows it and he went and looked
at it and he said, no, no, it's good, like
it looks really good. So then last weekend Olivia went
(24:48):
and picked it up and he rode it and met
the Veteran guys and went for a drink and everything
was fine, like they went for a meal and then
drove it back to my place. So this weekend I
drove up to the coast, picked him up and he
was going to drive it back right. I then get
a phone call and he's over on the side of
the road on the end one or more field because
(25:08):
the warning engine lights come on and you just can't
ride it. So he checked the oil and water and
did all that sort of stuff, and the only thing
we could do was to ring Morgan and Whacker, where
thankfully we'd also bought a three year extended warranty or
that had come with the bike. So it's limped back
to Morgan and Whacker the mechanics and there it sits okay.
Speaker 6 (25:31):
Yeah, so you thought you may have bought it, dude,
it hadn't been started since it was born.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
Well, yeah, but it's only been a week.
Speaker 2 (25:43):
I wonder, how you don't wonder what adventures have they
had on this bike through the ocean?
Speaker 3 (25:52):
Has it been down the bottom of a dam for
a while.
Speaker 1 (25:54):
And it started with the click, like the one clicker thing,
the fob thing, and so then we had to walk
to office works and get a new battery. So then
it started. And look, Carlie Davidson's can be notoriously temperamental,
but they're not supposed to like fully break down with
the engine when you're when.
Speaker 6 (26:14):
You're stuck in mountain Neba expect.
Speaker 3 (26:20):
We want to go like long reach. We want to
go like out West.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
I want to go.
Speaker 3 (26:27):
I got family, That's yeah, it's not.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
You want to be able to if you go on
long distance on a motorbike. You want to be able
to trust it.
Speaker 10 (26:34):
Don't you.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
I know you know the reason why I did this
was my beautiful friend Alison lost her battle with cancer
and she used to have tattooed on a wrist carpe
d M Seize the day. So I'm like, yeah, that's
what I'm going to do.
Speaker 7 (26:48):
You see the engine a g engine gine, not engine
Rob now with the podcast.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
Yes, sometimes the cheap thrills are what you find on
the marketplace.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
You get yourself a bargain.
Speaker 6 (27:08):
You have good.
Speaker 3 (27:09):
Okay, well, isn't that cheap?
Speaker 1 (27:11):
It was our Holley Davidson adventure bike and it's broken down.
I love the Tony on our text line O four
O nine nine seven three nine seven three Robin, you
need to save our number Tony from motorcycle toeing. I've
been needing it.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
I've just put it in my phone marketplace disasters thirteen
one oh sixty five is our number.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
Tim of Injrapelli.
Speaker 3 (27:31):
What happened?
Speaker 6 (27:33):
Morning games?
Speaker 5 (27:33):
How are you hey?
Speaker 13 (27:34):
Tim?
Speaker 3 (27:34):
Would you buy?
Speaker 10 (27:36):
So?
Speaker 7 (27:37):
I had a great buy.
Speaker 5 (27:38):
I found the dryer on my face, like a clothes dryer.
Speaker 8 (27:43):
Yeah yeah, yeap, just been on the closest tryer.
Speaker 7 (27:46):
Took her home, set it up, worked really well about
ten minutes.
Speaker 12 (27:51):
Fifteen minutes later it cut power. It's my whole house.
Speaker 10 (27:59):
And it was all.
Speaker 6 (27:59):
I love that you put it on the wall.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
Got it all good to go meet them? Not likes
what happened.
Speaker 12 (28:08):
I not long brought a double all sizes bed frame
with the wooden slats, went to put the mattress on,
and then the slats just completely fell out the bottom,
like they were not the right size for the bed
frame at all. That was just completely useless, autal.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
I'll probably cost you double to just get the slats
that it would be to just buy a new bed
from my A.
Speaker 13 (28:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (28:31):
Well I even contacted them and I told them, like,
it's not the right size. The adamant that they were
the right planks for this bed, and they even came
over to try and fix it. But then all of
a sudden, oh, it's not fixable. I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
It's funny actually because I said to Olivia, I said,
why don't we ring the guy and just say, look,
we're not expecting a money bag, but if there is
something you should tell us.
Speaker 3 (28:53):
It would just save a whole lot of time.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
I don't think you wanted.
Speaker 3 (28:56):
To do.
Speaker 6 (28:58):
Disabled.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
Beautiful day yesterday, beautiful day in Britain, all day for football.
The huge crowd turnout s Corporus see the Broncos take
on Sir George. Broncos started the game so well and
then ended up going down thirty to twenty six.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
That's still a lot of riding round for Buck, that's.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
Right, Yeah, he was busy.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
Yeah, so every time we score a try, the horse
goes around and cuts a lap. And Peter, we spoke
to you last week's Sasha from Peter in particular, we
were saying that it's too much stress on the horse.
But you actually went and caught up with Buck and
the rider at the game.
Speaker 6 (29:41):
So before the game we get there, like all the
older players and some boys that aren't playing, they'll get
there and do all their corporate walk arounds and yeah, yeah,
like I said, say thank you, and as I was
walking underneath the stadium like the car parkway to the
other side to the eastern grandstand.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
I've seen buck.
Speaker 6 (30:02):
I was like, it's weird.
Speaker 3 (30:05):
Seeing a horse in the car parker is just effectively just.
Speaker 6 (30:08):
Walk around me. And I'm like, and I said to
the guy that was with me the stuff, I'm like,
I know we're late, but I've got to go, say,
I've got to go see get a.
Speaker 3 (30:18):
Photo with him.
Speaker 6 (30:19):
He's yeah, right, who cares? And then yeah, I went
over there just chatting to him and yeah, I just honestly,
it was just it was so good to see him, you.
Speaker 3 (30:29):
Know, at that time.
Speaker 6 (30:30):
And I just asked him, like, you know, how's he going.
She goes, no, it's great. And it's like they knew
that was sort of half laughing when they see over.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
Yeah, because you're the only one in Brisbane that actually
took on Peter on Friday to say what are you doing?
You don't know anything and expose them massively for them
just picking a random thing to get upset about. I
clearly haven't been to a game.
Speaker 6 (30:52):
And I even asked him, like, you know, what's a
usually like a routine for the for the horse when
he's not here, and they gave to be honest. When
he's not here, he's out in a paddock eating.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
Grass, having having his best life.
Speaker 6 (31:07):
Groomed, ye, relaxed and training with me.
Speaker 1 (31:09):
And but you said something really interesting which kind of
again disproves Peter. What number buck is?
Speaker 3 (31:15):
This five?
Speaker 6 (31:16):
So they keep rotating them, you know, they because they
train them so well, like incredible. I just walked up.
This horse just pretty much was like, who you know,
it just wasn't.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
Spooked or so the idea that it's so stressful and
yet five different random horses have been able to do
it no problem and.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
There's never been an incident. Never has the horse. And
I mean you were saying on Friday, but I guess
you saw it in firsthand. I crossed the weekend. It's
the relationship between rider and horse, and that the horse
is so relaxed.
Speaker 6 (31:46):
Yeah, well I think I can't remember the photo, but
you can see the horse I think like leaning into
the the rider. Yeah, you know at first sort of
most of the photos, but.
Speaker 3 (31:55):
Leaning with purpose is what I call it.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
That's what one of my sons did rather than hud.
Speaker 6 (32:00):
Yeah. I didn't realize and when I walked up, she goes,
I never thought you could someone could ever make this
horse look small just and she goes, it's not He's
not a big horse, but he's not a small.
Speaker 3 (32:15):
I'm sorry, but it was really cool to know.
Speaker 6 (32:18):
I honestly go over there and get the farder with
the new Buck and just talked to him and just
ask him about it, and honestly, he's got a really
good life out of all life. And they train them
and they do such a good job.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
And they love them.
Speaker 7 (32:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
Yeah, that is a very long Yeah, definitely, And I.
Speaker 1 (32:35):
Was watching because I only saw the first half, which
is why I was surprised.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
We lost.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
We had a shoeing and I could get on with
my life.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
I could clock off at half time. Go yeah, the
boy's got this.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
Yeah, but like Buck went round a couple of times
and was like living his best life.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
Yeah, I seem to love it.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
Actually, Yeah, no note for later in the show, if
not today. This week realized we haven't we haven't talked
about Corey's little league's mascots, and we need to know
he's got North and South, but we need to have
some type of mascot.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
A little little bucks geting like Shetland pies. They're so angry.
Those little horses bottle the kids. I don't want to
get paid back.
Speaker 6 (33:17):
On the front.
Speaker 10 (33:23):
Kid.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
Now, there's a guy on the Joe Rogan podcast who
was talking about the contraceptive pill and on how it
could be the cause of relationship breakups.
Speaker 3 (33:38):
And it's on the back of this study.
Speaker 8 (33:41):
He got a bunch of guys who were deficient in
one part of their immune response, and then a bunch
of women who were also deficient in one part. It's
called histo compatibility index, and let's say it has five elements,
so they would find a bunch of guys who are
low in one or two or number three or number
four whatever, and women who have the same different deficiencies.
Hypothesis was that a woman who's low in factor three
(34:04):
won't be attracted to men who.
Speaker 3 (34:06):
Are low in factor three.
Speaker 8 (34:07):
They'll be attracted to men who are high in factor
three because then the babies will be healthy. Right. So
he gets these guys to wear T shirts for three
days and nights with no deodorant, no showers, no soap, nothing,
and puts the T shirts in plastic bags. Then he
has the women smell the bags and mark on a
piece of paper how attractive they thought the men were
based only on the smell of the T shirts, And
(34:29):
he found that with eighty percent of the women, they
chose as he predicted, that they chose the men high
in the thing that they were low in, and they
avoided the men who were low in the thing.
Speaker 5 (34:37):
That they were low in.
Speaker 8 (34:39):
But in about twenty percent they seem to be choosing randomly.
So he went back and looked at the women again
and found that those twenty percent were on birth control pills.
So the birth control pill short circuits that response.
Speaker 2 (34:51):
Anyway, He went on to say that there's been there
were relationships where a woman, you know, a couple of
mee together for ten years, then she'd go on the
pill and then all of a sudden, oh no, sorry,
she'd go off the pill right because they're trying to
have it, and all of a sudden she'd get a
whiff of his hormones and realize that they're no longer
compatible hormone related, and she would just go be off
(35:13):
him and just.
Speaker 1 (35:14):
Go that you're not from me nature determining that you
have the strongest babies humanly possible.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
Yeah, I mean, I understand the science of it that
it makes sense, right, I mean, it's pretty incredible that
you can smell someone and go, Okay.
Speaker 3 (35:27):
You've got the jeans that I need. What smells good? Yeah, pheromones.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
But then the idea that you're on the pill, so
it blocks that, so you don't realize that that person
is actually not for you as far as your genetic makeup,
and then you and then you go off the pill
and the person that you did love all of a
sudden go smells wrong to you.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
So longer you're no longer the guy that I need
to make really strong babies.
Speaker 3 (35:53):
Is that crazy love?
Speaker 6 (35:55):
I'll give you a kiss, good night, Wake up, get out,
get out?
Speaker 3 (35:59):
Ye?
Speaker 1 (36:00):
I mean you know, I thought you were going to
talk about how the pill long term effects can create
mood swings or headaches or tender breasts or make you
feel crazy.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
What does all that?
Speaker 9 (36:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (36:10):
Right?
Speaker 13 (36:11):
And men never.
Speaker 1 (36:15):
Like month in, month out? Oh no, no, no, this
is just kept trying to find a reason why so
many women rejected.
Speaker 6 (36:22):
Him because you don't smell good? Is that it?
Speaker 2 (36:29):
People take sudden turns on me, and I've never fully understood.
Speaker 1 (36:33):
Why, and now you're looking for it's because, of course, mate,
it's not me, it couldn't be you
Speaker 6 (36:42):
Now with the podcast,
