Day.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
So many ways to check out the highlights of Corey's
Little League game, either on our Instagram at Facebook or
the Career Marlett's on the front page today or Sunrise
at about ten minutes because they're crossing live to this
studio where Corey and our junior reporter Patty Patty from
Stradi Gooday, it's going to be there.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
That was one of the other wonderful things we were
able to do with the help of Channel seven is
not just make it about the kids who could play
on the field, but it was also.

Speaker 6 (01:01):
The kids who wanted to just be a part of it.
And Patty, you won that. It was a huge day
for you.

Speaker 7 (01:07):
Thank you.

Speaker 6 (01:07):
How did you find it all?

Speaker 7 (01:09):
I really loved it. The game was really good too.
I really liked it.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
This is a little bit of Patty and When When
because part of it before the game was Patty coming
in to read the sport for us. So this is
a bit of Patty's work on the mic, the Dino.

Speaker 8 (01:22):
Knites and the Kangarmoos are putting their finishing touches on premp.
It was a big weekend of footies. Dolphins destroyed the
Dragons fifty six or six.

Speaker 7 (01:31):
Someone called lifeguard fins up.

Speaker 6 (01:35):
It was brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
And went up and read the news of Channel seven
as well, and then did some of our commentary yesterday.
So what's this audio here? This is Patty having a
chat with coaches Jillo and Corey.

Speaker 8 (01:47):
Hey, guys, I'm here with Cory, Oats, Matt and.

Speaker 7 (01:51):
The ref Jack. How are you guys feeling?

Speaker 4 (01:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Look, no, it was good. I feel like if I
paid the ref too, I would have got some better calls,
but it happens. Unfortunately the organized the ref, so I.

Speaker 5 (02:00):
Did organize the ref and they organized a lot more
than Corey did, so I think it's unfair that we
got there.

Speaker 6 (02:06):
In the end.

Speaker 5 (02:06):
But now it's very, very fun day and I'm sure
Jack had thank you, Thank you for that?

Speaker 9 (02:12):
Was it?

Speaker 4 (02:13):
Jack?

Speaker 8 (02:13):
I was great, It's pretty good one atmosphere. The last
question to Jack did he actually pay you?

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Jack's the.

Speaker 6 (02:27):
I'm gonna ask.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
I had to ask it.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
I had to ask a questions, had a few calls
gone on the other sideway. But no, look, it was
a really good day, Patty.

Speaker 6 (02:35):
You made it.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
You made it a lot more enjoyable. And the kids
honestly responded so much better to you. Yes they did.
You got more out of them than they're all weeded.
But that's the last week or two week being for you,
like with everything that's happened.

Speaker 7 (02:51):
Yeah, it's been amazing.

Speaker 6 (02:53):
I've loved it.

Speaker 7 (02:54):
I've loved every single bit of it.

Speaker 6 (02:56):
And what if they said at school?

Speaker 8 (02:58):
Really, like all my mates are like, oh, this kid
was on sevens.

Speaker 6 (03:05):
Give a shout out to your friends. Which school do
you go to?

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (03:07):
I go to Carmon College. Can I shout out my mails? Azayah?

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (03:12):
On your Isaiah I've got Unfortunately, they won't be able
to see this Sunrise, but they'll have to watch watch
the clips on YouTube because you're going to You're going
live to Sunrise on Channel seven all across the country
in about five minutes.

Speaker 7 (03:24):
Jeez.

Speaker 6 (03:26):
All right, let's get the news.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
I've bit nervous.

Speaker 6 (03:28):
Cross We'll cross when we can.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
As we speak, Corey and our junior reporter Patty on Sunrise,
I think I.

Speaker 6 (03:35):
Can bring it up right now.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
We can have a listen to what's happening on Channel seven.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
It's great Tavvy with us as well as the games
junior reporter Patty from Straty both with it with us
this morning. So Corey, just take us through Little League
and why you started it.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Yeah, thanks for having me, but yeah, of course the
league just it all started from going and doing junior
clinics and just seeing the kids around eleven and twelve
years old really having too much pressure on themselves and
not knowing the basics of rugby league, And I thought,
why not try and start a concept where it's all
about enjoyment and it's all about learning basic skills and

(04:09):
trying to find the enjoyment from that and just teach
them that it's a civil game and there shouldn't be
pressure on kids at that age. So yeah, that was
kind of the idea, and I guess it off took
off from there, and yeah, a lot of people jumped
on board, which was great.

Speaker 9 (04:25):
Good on your Cory, because so many kids start dropping out,
don't they into high school? So this is fantastic news.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Patty, you're only twelve years old, you're already commentating a
live game.

Speaker 9 (04:34):
Tell us about what happened in the match.

Speaker 8 (04:36):
Oh there was, it was very electric.

Speaker 9 (04:38):
I really loved it.

Speaker 8 (04:39):
But one of my highlights was when the Diner or
when the kangaroos actually dropped the ball and the Diner
Knights actually had a breakthrough and was really entertaining.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
Yeah, it's so entertaining, isn't it, a Corey too nice
to see kisses on board and also the community base
for rugby league is only growing, especially when you have
comps like this.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Yeah, it was great, and you know, I was very
fortunate to have former Origin grades jump on board and
get the help from my good mate Jill Matcholette sorry,
and then construction Pathways also they helped a lot with
obviously being the major sponsor of the event. But it
was just it was really cool to see the support

(05:22):
from all the communities of families, the parents, you know,
the really the supportive listeners, even like there's so many
people that just listened to the radio station that rocked
up to show the kids of support. So that was
a great day I was really happy with. Yeah, just
everything went went to plan, so that was nice.

Speaker 9 (05:41):
Look at these shots in the studio. That's fantastic, Corey,
I reckon I mean, Patty, I reckon you're on your
way to share those job.

Speaker 4 (05:48):

and everyone as part of the camp. Really appreciate your time.

that you might be able to replace.

Speaker 6 (06:44):

Speaker 3 (06:46):

Speaker 7 (06:50):

Speaker 3 (06:55):

radio and obviously the commentary and now TV.

Speaker 8 (07:00):

Speaker 3 (07:35):
