Brisbane Fashion Festivals kicking off on Sunday, Yes.
Speaker 4 (00:30):
It's coming up.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
The Resort First Parade is happening on Sunday at the
Kangaroo Point Bridge.
Speaker 4 (00:37):
That's really cool.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
In fact, today there's a big function happening at Government House,
right Okay, so yeah the Governor Queensland Governor is going
to be going to toda.
Speaker 4 (00:47):
Yeah, I'm trying to work.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
Out what to wear because it says cocktail, but like,
can you show your bare legs.
Speaker 4 (00:51):
At Government House?
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Cocktail legs out?
Speaker 4 (00:55):
Cocktails legs out.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
So these are the things that I kind of focus
on when we talk about the Brisbane Fashion Festival. But
you guys have never really been involved and this year
is your year.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
We've gone from not being involved to the main poast.
It's like going from not caring about rugby league to
playing your first game of origin.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
And to be fair, they started because Corey said, hey,
let's walk the runway. And I know that you did
that because you wanted to get Kip up on stage.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
And now it's just taken on a life of its
own Manzillo, which is his great suit company dressing you
and Corey.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
You're opening and keep your closing.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
When we went and saw Manzillo in the CBD and
there's like that they actually have it's an actual tailor
like there. I think it might be the only place
in Brisbane they're still actually making the clothes, are still
doing all the alterations. They do the alterations for everyone
around Brisbane as well. And oh well yeah, and that's
when we like, it's just our sort of both of
(02:00):
our both of our jaws dropped and we saw the
enormity of what they're doing. And they have big screens.
They're shouting people and walking down catwalks like this is
gonna be legit.
Speaker 5 (02:10):
Yeah, yours one, it's the longer one.
Speaker 4 (02:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
And it's fun right, Like we've been having lots of
fun with this.
Speaker 4 (02:17):
Yesterday we put you in heels.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Check that out on our socials and you guys are laughing.
But often when you laugh the hardest, it's because you're
deflecting what is really going on. So I wanted to
ask you, let's start with you, Cooreotes, what is it?
Speaker 6 (02:35):
What is really just never I've never was a confident
person with this type of stuff, like, yeah, I guess
looks dressing up looking good, that's I was. I was
the least confidence. I've never confidence in myself ever, and
I still don't really like I just I like wearing
like the stuff that I think looks good, and you know,
(02:57):
I feel like it makes me look better like good.
But yeah, I've always struggled with my appearances. I've never
was a confident person at all.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
So is that because you're worried that people will look
at your outfit and judge you.
Speaker 6 (03:09):
For what you're Yeah, Like I just never think I
look yeah, and I never say this because people go,
you know, cribing River's crap. But yeah, I honestly everyone
in my high school you just get teased with being
an ugly kid. And ugly I say, I've kind of
just lived with that, Like I've always just thought I
(03:29):
probably am, you know, So whenever it's come to confidence
with looks and that, I've never like, I'm happy with
who I am and how I look. But just when
it's like this sort of stuff, I'm just oh, nah,
Like I get really nervous, okay.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Because your body is extraordinary, right, like no, no, no,
like seriously it's not.
Speaker 4 (03:49):
I'm not taking that.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
You know, you have been a professional athlete for most
of your adult life, so your body is amazing, So
it can't be your body that you're married.
Speaker 6 (03:57):
Face your faith, Yeah, and how it looks interesting it's
always been, Yeah, my big fear.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
I never would have guessed that, not ever in a
million years. I thought you were going to say to
me that you were concerned about like just looking a
bit out.
Speaker 6 (04:15):
Of I was gonna lie, Yeah, I don't want to
say it, but like, yeah, that was true. That's the truth.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Well well, well, I mean my immediate response to that
is that I want to give you a solution, but
of course we can't.
Speaker 6 (04:29):
Yeah, you face, It's just it's kind of facing my fears,
I guess on the runway thing.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Yeah, so you're okay with strutting the clothes and showing
confidence in your body in those clothes.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
You just don't want people to look at it.
Speaker 6 (04:42):
Just yeah, how I look, that's mainly one of my
big things. Yeah, it's always been a big fear of mine,
to be honest, really, but I'm happy with hell, it's yeah,
it was just from school. I guess certain certain things
that that may happen in my life. Yeah, I've always
been nervous for that reason.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
It's amazing how stuff from school sticks with you, isn't it,
Even if it's like completely wrong, and even if you
know all those things and you grow up whatever, those
things that you got teased about, it's school, they stay
on your back forever.
Speaker 6 (05:12):
Yeah. I just just they like they just stick there
and like remind you can.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
I ask you, though, is it because of the scars
that you had? Is it? Did you have buck teeth
as a kid, did you?
Speaker 6 (05:22):
I was a bucky, But I embraces my whole my
whole life. I had the old froe hair probably. I'm
pretty sure I had acne, like the old forehead, cheeks
and that like yeah, but yeah, I embraced my I
had based like five years.
Speaker 4 (05:37):
Did you wear glasses?
Speaker 6 (05:39):
No, that was that would have topp me off, I reckon.
You know the guy of what is it bench warmers? Yeah,
the guy sunscreen? Yeah, that was that what I would
ould have been here.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
And by the way, I'm right here you too, with glasses,
curly hair, with you respect.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
Though cut white men, and I do want to chat
to you. I don't think yours is.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
That no, it's not.
Speaker 4 (06:04):
Yeah, but I think it comes from the same place.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
Yes, let's get into that, say.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
And we've been having lots of fun with it because
Manzillo are creating a unique outfits for these guys based
on your personality. There's amazing storyboards and a Kiel is
creating these extraordinary things for you to wear. And we've
been laughing and carrying on for the last week about it.
But I know behind all the bravado is some sensitive, yes,
(06:37):
concerns And if you just joined us, we learned that Corey,
I still am kind of a bit gobsmack that you
have a thing about your face and how you look
just I.
Speaker 6 (06:49):
Mean works that hard on my body because.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
That's interesting.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
So you like your body, it's just your face that
you are insecure about.
Speaker 6 (07:00):
I can fix yeah, Yeah, to be honest, I don't
know like I can control what my body looks like.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
And so do you feel like when I know I'm
sort of keeping the focus on you here, but when
you wearing a suit, then the focus is kind of
on your face, isn't it Because interesting? Yeah? Whereas what
is it? Well, for me, it's it is my body, right,
I feel like, especially you know at a fashion festival
(07:26):
where the models, the male models are either going to
look like you or Leana, and I'm going to be
the fat guy out there in a suit and it's
going to be you know, there's going to be wobbles
where there shouldn't be wobbles, and you know everyone else
is going to be fit and looking out and I'm
going to look. Yeah, I'm going to look like the
fat guy out there, and I don't want to do that.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
Well, yeah, you wind.
Speaker 6 (07:53):
Like when I when you wear I don't think, like
to be honest, I don't think that when you see
you walking around. If I'm honest, and I think a
suit would just like do that even better as in
it you won't see anything. It'll just be your face.
Like That's that's how I think about it, Like it's
hiding all of that. You're not going to say, you know,
(08:15):
like be that's because my fear is my face because
it's hiding all this.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
But at the end of the day, kept what you say.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
But that's yeah, So that's what you're Yeah, and that's
why it's going to be good to do it as
much as I want to do it, Like it will
be good to just suck it up and just go Okay,
get out there.
Speaker 6 (08:34):
Walk drag after to make you feel better.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
I think I'll be happy when it when it's done.
In general, Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
If I don't know, I've never done anything like it.
Speaker 4 (08:47):
Do you think that you can?
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Like it feels to me like you are now letting
that little fat kid you feel about yourself be put
on show.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
Yes. And that's why, like even when we've done things
over you know how long we've been doing radio for
like when they have the red carpet, Like I can't
get across that thing fast enough, you know what I mean?
Like I don't want to, I don't want understand.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
It for photos.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
Just no, just get me through it, get me inside.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
So the the idea of eight hundred people looking at me,
you know, standing up there is far out now I'm
thinking about it's like it's really daunting.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
Yeah, but you'll do it, yeap, and you'll do it
with all of the courage and the bravery that you have.
Speaker 4 (09:35):
You made me right because I just said, I know
how big this is.
Speaker 6 (09:39):
Why you say no?
Speaker 5 (09:40):
Then you make me feel bad because it was your idea.
Because no, because you've got to do these things right.
You've got to do the things you don't want to
do because they're good for you.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
And both of you are going to open and close
what is going to be an extraordinary evening, and both
of you are going to walk down there and face
your fears. And I swear to God, I won't be
proud of in my life. It'll last for that period
of time and that period of time and then went
back to normal.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
Christy at almost on the phone thirty one sixty five
and I'm ifever you want to get involved with the show.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
Hey, Christy, Hello, do you know what I from a mom,
from a teacher, I really want to commend you, guys,
because opening up your fears talking about them, You're not
just talking to a psychologist here. You're talking to thousands
of people on the radio, but you can genuinely hear
(10:41):
your fear. And I am giving you an air hug
right now because I can hear Robin trying to be
so supportive and commended to you. Robin because you're like,
I don't even understand this, Like I'm trying, but you know,
I just want to commend you, guys, because there are
kids in the car listening. There are moms and dads
(11:05):
you know, going we've all been there, We've all had trauma. Yes,
the school yard. We are still trying to you know,
cope with that. But I think it's a developmental thing
because even when you're saying about pimples and acne and
your face and you know your weight, it's all a
development thing, like we all go through it, and yet
it's still the main cause for bullying like crazy. Thank you,
(11:31):
thank you because you gave me goosebumps as a mum
to go. Now I know why my daughter loves the Broncos. Yes, no,
thank you. It's really great that the radio has brought
on this that your new age like people, and you
talk about new age stuff, you don't hide it. And yeah,
(11:54):
so thank you and good on you. And I'm I'm
giving you mom air hugs. It will be tough, Yes,
it will be tough, and your nerves will come and
it's okay because you've got to live in that moment.
You've got to be in that moment to get through it.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
And I promise everyone that we will have this moment
that these boys proudly walk that runway and everyone will
be cheering for you.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
Yeah, hey, Christy, can you guys leave it hold on
for that moment?
Speaker 3 (12:24):
Can we can we give you some tickets to Guy Sebastian.
You want to go and see Guy when he's here?
Speaker 2 (12:28):
Oh my god? Really yeah?
Speaker 3 (12:29):
Yeah, We're going to Double Pass right now, one hundred
times Round the Sun Tour. It's on Monday twentieth of April,
so early next year, Prisbon Entertainment Center and Double Pass
all yours, Christy.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
Oh, oh my god, thank you so much. Anything I know,
I know?
Speaker 3 (12:44):

Speaker 4 (12:44):
Yeah, thanks mate. Yes, if you don't ask, you shall
receive
