Speaker 1 (00:12):
I heard podcasts year more kiss podcasts, playlists and listen
live on the Freeheart.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
So friends of mine, Pete Namanda had a little baby
boy a couple of days ago, name Rory Rory, and
so they're going through like this is their first They're
going through all of that stuff where you know, Pete's
doing the swaddling and you know, sending us messages like
he's the first father ever to parent. It was so fun.

(00:45):
And but I had this moment yesterday. I took Raphael
after school, my little boy six. It took him to
to Westfield, Caarendale. We had to buy a couple of
things and then got him a sushi role and as
we were walking back towards the car, he just he
just reached up and grabbed my hand and I started

(01:05):
walking holding his hand, and I had this, like I said,
this moment, I was like, I love this so much.
I can't No one could have told me how much
I was going to love this fatherhood. Yeah, and having
just this little person that you love and that loves
your back, it is one of the great experiences that

(01:26):
you will ever have. Like I just had this moment,
I was just going I just wanted to be there forever.
I was like, this is yeah, and then I got
sad because I thought, farty six and pretty soon he's
not going to want to hold my hand at the shops,
so it's hard.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
And then and then I got into in the car.
On the way home, I listened to the SmartLess podcast,
which is Jason Bateman and had a good podcast, Yeah
and crew, and he was talking with Julia Roberts and
Julia I didn't realize that she her and her husband,
Danny moder Danny. Yeah, so he's a cinematographer. They've been

(02:02):
together for twenty five years or something like. They're one
of those Hollywood couples that made.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
It interestingly enough though, like that he he was married
to someone else, so when we called Vira and that
got all very nasty for a while.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
And then they've had three kids. They've got twins, Hazel
and Phineas. They'd be about twenty one, I think, yep.
And then they had a couple of years later Henry,
who would have been about eighteen.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Now I think Henry's who Jason talks to Julia about
with this.

Speaker 5 (02:31):
You said the kids are in college. Now, how recent
have you become an empty nester. It's been two and
a half weeks. Oh my god. I just sent my
first one away but it was just down the street
to USC So I'm happy about that, but I'm not
anticipating doing well when the thirteen year old goes away
in five years and being empty empty.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
How are you doing?

Speaker 5 (02:49):
Yes, but you and your wife are crazy about each other,
so it's all going to be okay. I think it's
when the kids leave and you turn around and you're like, oh,
who are you? What are you still doing here?

Speaker 4 (03:00):
That's when you run into trouble.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
You were supposed to go too. Yeah, yeah, So that
actually gave me confidence because I was thinking, oh, man,
it's gonna be the worst one. We got this house
and the kids aren't.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
You think about it? Like they slowly get older, obviously,
like you see the big difference in them, and I've
noticed it. Like I put to bed and he goes,
love you daddy, Love you Chunky, And I got I
love Chunky, and then like I just get really sad,
and I'm like I go to Monty and you're like,
you know, I love you man. She goes, It takes
a while. I love your dad. She wouldn't say it

(03:33):
straight up, but it's just you know, she still holds
my hand, or but it makes me so sad, Like,
and everyone kept saying you're going to miss them, I'm like, no,
I'm not.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
It goes like everyone says it and you just think, oh,
don't be ridiculous, but it really does. Like you should
see the messages on my phone where I have to
stop myself cry now I missed them, so.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
I can't imagine it.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
I can't imagine they keep saying things like mom, we
still love you. You gotta love it in the moment
for it.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
It's actually part of the reason I did retire, like
just missing all that time with them.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
Yeah, when they're that age.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
I was like, I just can't. I don't want to
miss anymore.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
So yeah, and does it make you feel like maybe
one was a good idea?

Speaker 4 (04:30):
Oh I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
