So I have a work colleague who has been significantly
affected by cyclone Alfred. They lost some furniture items and
consequently they also have lost power, and I just wanted
to be able to do something positive and nice for

them by nominating them.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Yeah. Well, Fantastic Furniture said, look, we know people are hurting,
and they said, we want to we want to help out,
so you can be our vessel and we're very happy
to be that vessel. So where is where's your friend living?

So normally they would be based in the Fame Right area,
but at the moment they've been staying with friends as
a result.

Oh wow.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
Yeah, and she's also got two kids. Yeah, kids. I
believe they're about thirteen and ten, I think.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
And what's her name this friend of yours?

Speaker 3 (01:18):
Yeah, Sarah, I work with Sarah.

Okay, well, we have someone who's been eavesdropping on this conversation.

Oh mate, sorry, I'm a bit of lawn.

A great way. Nick always has my back, She's so
beautiful and so curious, and so you've been You've got
no pair at the moment. Still excuse me, still no power?
I think we're day like six now, and Nick wasn't
far off. My kids are eleven and fourteen. No power
nor internet with two like preteens challenging that is much longer. Look,

we're still not expected to have power back to the
weekend at some stage at this point the next update
like Friday evening. So yeah, so we've been crashing at
friends and organizing playdates during the day because both their
schools are closed as well, and just sort of I mean,
I've just looked out of the gym because the gym
I can come and have a shower and charge all

my devices.

Wow, okay, so have you lost much stuff? Like, yes, power,
but did water impact you as well?

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Yeah, So we've lost a little bit of furniture, quite
a few Like we had quite a few things stored
in the garage. So I'm a recently new single moment,
I've been collecting items to move out on my own,
and so the things that I had collected in the garage, rough.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Mate, How would a one thousand dollars to go spend
a fantastic furniture to get new stuff?

Speaker 2 (03:01):
It was sure being to the Facebook marketplace stuff that
I lost, so it would be incredible.

Speaker 1 (03:08):

Nick is one of the most thoughtful people ever. Even
last week it was my birthday before the storms, and
as a single mom, she cooked me dinner so I
didn't need to cook. That just goes to show what
a person she is. I'm so grateful to have her
in my lie.

Well she can hear you too, Sarah.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
You totally deserving of it, Miss Sarah, so we wouldn't
want it any other way.
